Had a flat white here and the coffee was good! I think the beans were maybe a little over roasted or the blend they were using that day was just a darker roast than my preference, but the ambiance is so cute! Would definitely come back another time to try more options.

Amazing cold brew, best of the best. Classy service, and calming air flow throughout the whole shop

My impression: Classic Italian café vibes at Caffè Umbria. The cortado was smooth and balanced, with just the right ratio of espresso to milk. The americano had a rich body and clean finish -- bold without being bitter. A great spot for a quality coffee break for travelers/locals!

They charged me for sugar substitutes if you ask but they have single packets out, so I don't know why I was charged. Anyways, the location is nice. The coffee is good. It's a journey to get to the restroom. The staff is friendly and helpful.

I went there on a weekday for lunch. The people are really nice and want to help you. When I found that they did not have enough veg choices, they suggested neighboring places. It was very kind of them..I visited the places and came back. Ordered chick pea based sandwich and chocolate macroon. The couch puts sandwich was ok /good; but small in size. The macroon was tasty. The outside view of the pioneer square was nice.

Food was standard for a coffee shop nothing super standout but quality was good. Service was a little slow but they did the best they could considering there was a pile up from Sunday Car gathering. Interiors are basic industrial coffee shop with touches here and there to make it warmer. To save on waste they offer ceramic plates and mugs for dining. 3 star bc my coffee could have been hotter. I will be back.

Orange Currant Scone + Lavender Latte

I stopped here during my bus/train layover in Seattle. I came in just after 9 and must have missed the rush hour because it was pretty quiet. The interior is very spacious with lots of seating, and it looked clean. The barista that took my order was very friendly and gave me a very in-depth answer to my question about one of their specialty drinks, which I appreciated. I got an orange currant scone and a lavender latte. The scone was gluten free and had kind of a grainy texture but not in a bad way. The flavour was great. The lavender latte was pretty sweet but I liked how strong the lavender was, and it was really good coffee. Good choice for a quick coffee and bite.

Relaxed coffee shop. Less than friendly servers. Spendy. Lukewarm cappuccino. Varied reading material. Zeitgeist across the street is better.

Pistachio gelato affogato was creamy and delicious. The espresso at Cafe Umbria is top notch. The staff is friendly and well versed. The cafe is cute and cozy

Stopped in here for a pick me up after an event at Lumen and had a solid dirty chai latte. Plenty of seating and friendly baristas. They've got a few locations around the city; this one is conveniently located near the stadium complex.

I began my day in search of a place with a good vibe. My goal was to find a chill cafe to sit and journey into the bowels of Postgre SQL. And I found the best local cafe in seattle, located in pioneer square, close to all major forms of transportation! The noise level was well meshed with ambient background music and there was ample seating for any size group. In addition, the decor was unique and futuristic and showcased different forms of art and technology as a store layout style. Ohh btw, do yourself a favor and try the Cardamon Maple Latte with almond milk. I promise you won't regret it! Overall, I would give this cafe a 10 out of 10! Not to mention, the customer service was exquisite! Soleil and Naomi helped me decide which drink to pick based upon my mood! Out of all the cafes in Seattle Caffe Umbria has the best vibe and product selection. The only downside are their operation hours, I wish they could stay open longer.

Stopped by with my girlfriend, who wanted coffee. I had the hot chocolate. It was... ehhh. Not very chocolatey and not very hot, even though I had it there. On the plus side, the staff was friendly and the location is convenient. I've heard the coffee is better though.

I am not sure if this happens during the busiest moments in the shop, but they did have staff bussing the tables, and one staff member actually brought us our order (I'd been listening for my name to be called and didn't hear it). They clearly care about their image as they offer a free mug for first-time customers with an email sign-up. The drinks here are ok, but they average between $8-$10 each. I think the pricing is just much too high. You're paying for the vibes, not for a great cup of coffee. The matcha we tried was mediocre. There are so many other great places for coffee in Seattle, for just a fraction of the price. I think Storyville is preying on tourists visiting the market. They probably have to charge that much to keep the 8 employees milling about behind the counter employed. The space does have lots of seating, but it was nearly full during our early afternoon visit. Save your money, find another great local coffee spot!

This was on a Sunday afternoon close to 5pm, and there were still so many people occupying nearly every seat inside. I did come back to try their matcha matcha drink only to find it gone from their current menu as of May 2026. Instead, their turon matcha immediately caught my eye, as it has banana and I've been obsessed with banana-flavored toppings and puree on my matcha lately. It has matcha and house banana puree, both of which work well together. The tiny layer of house banana puree has all the flavor, especially when you mix the whole drink together. Very refreshing, and their ceremonial matcha's grassy tones still came out despite the banana puree being just as strong in the drink. Their matcha here comes pretty close to making it to the highest spots on my list of my most favorite matcha places in Seattle. Even if it isn't on the top of that list, their drinks are still 5+ star quality.

There's a mix of booth seating with small standalone tables and chairs, but most of the seats were taken. The barista/cashier was really nice about answering my questions about the pastry case. I ended up ordering a matcha latte with brown sugar syrup (half sweet) and a gruyere pull apart pastry. My friend got a regular latte with brown sugar syrup and the scallion pull apart pastry. I also bought a bag of their Morning Sun coffee beans as a souvenir, and the cashier mentioned how it was one of her favorite blends to drink and gift! That reassured me about blind buying. My matcha latte was pretty good. It had an added earthiness from the brown sugar syrup. Though it wasn't as green as the matcha lattes I'm used to drinking back in SoCal, it wasn't bad! However, I think I would skip the gruyere pull apart pastry next time. I usually don't mind gruyere in savory pastries, but this one was especially greasy. The scallion one my friend got was much tastier and a lot lighter - I'd recommend that one over the gruyere one. If I were to come back to Seattle, I'd love come back and try a sweet pastry and a different espresso drink.
