05/24/2026 We had searched for the highest rated chocolate chip cookies around Seattle, and this bakery was on many lists. We stopped here around 9:30am with plenty of pastry options. Got a cookie and a twice baked almond croissant. There is nowhere to sit inside, but we had to run anyway. Both items were pretty good, and I would go back to try others.

Really cute place, just better on photos than taste in person. The sandwiches were extremely basic and overpriced for what they were. Same with the pastries, good but not worth the price. Good service though, they were all very friendly. I wouldn't return but it was nice to try.

Bakery Nouveau has exploded in popularity over the years, with locations in West Seattle, Cap Hill, and Burien on account of their plethora of creative sweet treats and artisanal coffee concoctions. It's so popular that you might even run into your ex there on a Saturday stroll. If you scroll through the pics here, you'll find some truly genius (or even odd?) baked goods that they're handing out daily. I even caught a glimpse of some sort of pistachio flavored shoe, not sure who gave the green light on that one. If you're looking for a decadent dessert, then you've found the right spot. You may have to wait in line if you come in the morning, but the sights and sounds of Cap Hill will keep you entertained while you're day dreaming about your Kouign Amann. I would advise coming here with a plan, otherwise you may fall victim to a case of what I call Bakery Glass Indecision. The moment of panic that sets in when there is an extensive array of beautiful cakes in front of you, and a hangry group of patrons behind you. However, the good folks at Nouveau are more than willing to help you find that special something to take home. I elected to go with the carrot cake, which has always been a personal favorite of mine. As you can see from the picture, she is truly a goddess. The cake has the perfect texture in all of the right places, but was just a touuuuch too sweet for me. Still a great choice though, I would be happy to have it again. If you're in Cap Hill, it's worth a stop!

Overall, really enjoyed the cake we ordered here for a celebration! Tart and sweet balance with a good mix of texture. My only feedback: - With the white chocolate bottom (nice thin layer) a bit more tartness would be nice - pick up alerts and reminders would be helpful (to ensure timing and be aware of progress updates) Didn't get a chance to review the bakery, but would love to go next time.

Walked into Bakery Nouveau in Capitol Hill and immediately got distracted by the STUNNING sandwich display. The kind of case that makes you press your face a little closer to the glass like a kid at an aquarium. Ordered a dirty chai and an egg salad croissant. Let's talk about that croissant. Super crisp on the outside, soft and buttery inside, with egg salad that was creamy but not too heavy. It was DELICIOUS YALL! Service was quick, the space was bright and inviting, and the whole experience started my day perfectly! Capitol Hill is lucky to have Bakery Nouveau!

12 oz latte with soy milk and vanilla, almond croissant, German chocolate cake

Bakery Nouveau allegedly has the best almond croissant in the city so I was super excited to finally come and try this out. I was planning to eat it in store, but the bakery actually does not have any seating. All the sandwiches and pastries in the casing looked so good! We ended up getting the almond croissant and the German chocolate cake. Here is where it goes downhill.... I asked for my croissant warmed up, and it came out so crunchy. The flakiness and airiness of a croissant is completely gone. I'm not sure if they heated it up for too long or if something went wrong during the process? I also drove 5 minutes home but I don't think that short of a time would've impacted the croissant. But I would not suggest getting your croissant heated up. The German chocolate cake is very rich and dark and the outer casing with coconut is pretty good. I also got a 12 oz latte. Base price is $5 which is not bad nowadays. I opted for soymilk and vanilla syrup which added $2 extra to my drink. I was also standing and waiting for my drink while the workers were just chit chatting for a good minute while my latte was sitting in its cup waiting for ice. All in all, maybe I have a one-off experience, but it did not live up to its hype for me. I will consider coming back and retrying the almond croissant not warmed up but it's not at the top of my list to try anymore.

This is a good Bakery with amazing desserts (they also have sandwiches and bread). The staff are very fast and efficient, and I enjoyed every dessert I purchased.

Super sad I didn't get to try an almond croissant, since it's by far their most popular menu item with many variations (our cashier told us they rarely run out, but I guess after 10AM on a Saturday, we just got unlucky). Ended up with a chocolate croissant, which was flaky on the outside and buttery on the inside, but a bit of a disappointment in terms of price to taste ratio (and perhaps I just wanted that almond croissant... next time!).

This place needs to work on customer service STAT. There is so much going on in the store that it is frantic. I asked what they were known for and the girl said "everything" I ended up getting cake and we also get an Apple strudel. The cake was so dense and dark it was inedible the strudel was only good thanks to the giant sugar chips on top. After research I found that they are known for their pastries. glad I got to waste my money on this place.

We got the: - ham and cheese croissant: 7.5/10 not bad pretty light but I which there was more ham. - double baked almond croissant: 7/10 a little too dense but had nice flavor - carrot cake: 6/10 my boyfriend loves carrot cake and he said it was too dense and slightly drier

Such delicious pastries!! Only caveat is that the pastries are a bit on the pricier side. Highly recommend the savory mushroom danish with bechamel and caramelized onions. The junction croissant was tasty, but a bit rich, and set us back $14, so would not get it again. But 5 stars since the mushroom pastry was so flavorful!!

Bakery Nouveau is a cozy, charming spot in Capitol Hill that nails the perfect balance of comforting and elevated. With a tempting menu of pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and thoughtfully crafted coffees and teas, it's the kind of place you'll want to come back to again and again. We tried a few things and everything was amazing. The cinnamon roll was next-level -- full of warm cinnamon flavor with a surprising (and delightful) hint of orange. It added this bright, unexpected twist that made it totally unforgettable. Pro tip: ask to have it warmed up. Game changer. The chai was brewed from real tea (not syrup!) and mixed with oat milk for the creamiest, coziest drink ever. So flavorful and perfectly balanced. And then... the star of the show: the smoked brisket sandwich. This beauty came loaded with smoky brisket, soft potatoes, and melted cheese, all tucked into a buttery, flaky croissant. It was savory, rich, and basically everything you could ever want in a breakfast sandwich. If that description doesn't make you hungry, I don't know what will. Bottom line: go here. You will not regret it. This place is a total gem.

This is the bakery of my dreams! They have everything I love, from cakes, croissants, sandwiches, macarons, and other amazing pastries. I got the chocolate croissant and an almond croissant, and it was so flaky and delicious. The fillings are not too strong and not too sweet. We also got the sandwiches, the Italian roll is my favorite which has salami and provolone. They also have baguettes, all the delicious cakes such as chocolate, tiramisu, and seasonal cakes such as raspberry spring cake, and lemon spring cake. I also ordered their vanilla latte and it was delicious. This place reminds me of the bakeries in New York, fresh ingredients, so many options. Highly recommend!

You order at the counter, and they have a good selection of pastries, sandwiches, and other brunch items. I ordered a vanilla latte, the raspberry cloud matcha, a quiche, and the croque monsieur. The coffee was perfectly creamy and smooth without being too sweet. The food was good, nothing that particularly stood out but I'd still come back. Next time I'd probably try the breakfast board since that seems to be a favorite. Thankfully they are open today on the Fourth of July (they will just close a little earlier for the holiday), and I was happy to see that not much has changed since my last visit. Without even realizing it, I ended up ordering the exact same drink I got the first time: a Matcha Float with mochi. I guess you really can't go wrong with it because it's still just as creamy and satisfying as I remembered. The only tiny downside is that it only comes with three small mochi balls, so for almost $9 I wish there were a few more. However, the quality of the matcha is consistently excellent, sooo I don't regret coming back. They have wonderful customer service too! The employee helping me at the register was incredibly patient while I stood there trying to decide what to order. As an awkward introvert, I always feel a little flustered when ordering, but she never made me feel rushed or uncomfortable. She asked my sweetness preference for the Matcha Float, whether I wanted to dine in or take everything to go, and even carefully packed up my yuzu green tea packet with the rest of my order. She was very kind and thoughtful so just wanna say I really appreciate how welcoming she was. Even from my last Seattle visit two years ago, I still remember the employees being helpful and friendly here. I also have to recommend their desserts from my previous visit. (I skipped the sweets this time due to my budget but I still suggest picking up some of their sweets!). The Matcha Basque Cheesecake and the Matcha Tiramisu were both absolutely delicious, and I still remember how amazing they tasted even two years later. The tiramisu is only around $7 and is definitely worth trying if you're a matcha lover. This visit, I picked up their yuzu green tea packet to take home (last time, I got the hojicha). Each packet contains 15 individual tea bags and costs about $10 (not bad for how much tea is in each tea bag). They also sell matcha powder and other tea goodies. I'm looking forward to brewing the yuzu green tea at home since a good cup of hot tea is always comforting, especially when I'm sick (I've been recovering from a cold so tea has been a lifesaver to warm me up!). I actually stopped by for lunch since I didn't eat breakfast, and ordered the Sukiyaki Don (it was much more satisfying than I expected). I was craving a beef bowl and Nana's was one of the few places in the area within walking distance from my work, that was actually open for the holiday today, lucky me! It came with miso soup and a soft-boiled egg, and I was pleasantly surprised to find tofu and mushrooms in the bowl alongside the beef. It left me FULL, my tummy happy, heck yeah. Costs almost $20 but worth satisfying a craving. I won't lie.. I somehow managed to spend about $40 today between my meal, drink, and tea to take home. More than I intended to spend but no regrets, because everything was delicious and the quality has remained consistently high over the years. The only thing that made my visit a little uncomfortable wasn't the café itself. There were quite a few homeless individuals lingering around the front of the building, so I decided against dining out front like I had originally planned since I wanted to enjoy the nice weather, but one of them was panhandling me so I promptly left (thankfully I asked for my order to be packaged for takeout). That's obviously outside of the café's control, and it didn't affect the food or service at all. They still had many seats available inside but probably because it's the holiday. If I recall, the place was packed during the afternoon when I last visited on a weekday. I will still say that Nana's Green Tea continues to be one of my favorite matcha spots whenever I'm in Seattle. Between the consistently high-quality matcha, delicious meals and desserts, excellent selection of teas to bring home, and genuinely exemplary customer service, it's a place I'll happily keep returning to whenever I'm back in town and have the time to visit.

She had wanted to visit for a long time after hearing so many good things about it, so this was the perfect opportunity. The café itself is bright, modern, and absolutely adorable. It has a cozy, inviting atmosphere that makes it a great place to relax over dessert with family or friends. The menu is a dream for matcha and hojicha lovers. They offer an impressive variety of parfaits, floats, frappes, and lattes, with optional additions like mochi and red beans. It took us a while to decide because everything looked tempting. My daughter and I shared the Hojicha Mochi Parfait, while my son ordered the Hojicha Float with mochi. The parfait had a rich, authentic hojicha flavor and was generously layered with chewy mochi, crunchy cereal flakes, and creamy soft serve, giving it a wonderful mix of textures. The float was equally enjoyable, with a bold roasted hojicha flavor that wasn't overly sweet, and the mochi was a fun addition. The quality of the desserts was excellent, and while the prices are on the higher side, they reflect the quality of the ingredients and presentation. If you're a fan of matcha or hojicha, this is definitely a place worth visiting.

I saw it on a few YouTube food influencer videos and was really impressed by what I saw. The their staple is their Georgian khachapuri. They're the iconic bread "boats" filled with cheese, butter, egg, and whatever comes along the variety you ordered. TBH, I actually thought they looked like little volcanoes, which is something I figured The Little One would enjoy. What we ordered: - Stroganoff: one of the popular items listed on the yelp page. The beef was rich, succulent and comforting, with a creamy, savory filling. The pickles added a bit of bright, tangy contrast to balance the richness. - Adjaruli, the classic version with cheese, butter, and egg. To me, this seemed like the plainest version, but I figured The little One would be more likely eat this because she hates anything that resembles a sauce or toppings. Both dishes were fantastic. The bread boat sort of reminded me of a pizza crust: crispy on the outside, soft and chewy inside, and perfect for tearing off and dipping into the cheesy center. The Little one did especially like the crust since she's a big pizza-crust fan. Surprisingly, getting her to eat the cheese and egg was tougher, as she usually likes those. I guess that's just being a kid? Inconsistent fluctuations of opinions and likings? The Mrs. and I happily finished everything she left behind. The restaurant itself is a small, casual spot with self-service kiosks for ordering and open seating. Nothing fancy, but it's efficient. We also appreciated that they had high chairs available, making it easy to visit with a child. We did see other families with kids there too. My only gripes: - once you've submitted your kiosk order, making changes isn't really possible. The staff is so busy going in and out of the kitchen, that you really don't have any opportunity to flag them down. We actually wanted to make one minor change to our order, but by the time I managed to talk to someone about it, she informed me that the order was already being made. - If you order coffee, you need to decide on cream, half-and-half, and sugar ahead of time, seemingly preset amounts. It's entirely prepared in the kitchen, not self serve, and you can't exactly customize to your liking. - Only forks were available. No spoons, no knives. Knives would have been helpful for cutting through the thicker bread crust. Those are very minor complaints, though. The food was excellent, the concept is unique, and the meal was memorable. Won't dock any points off there.

They serve only one type of dish, which is like a bread boat with cheese inside and or other filling. I got the one with spinach and cheese - it is enough for 2 ppl but I finished it on my own as a very hungry pregnant lady. We also got 2 more to go - one with beans and bacon (Lobiani) and the other with beef stroganoff. Both were delicious, although the beans & bacon one has a bit of spice. I would 100% recommend eating in person though, because everything is perfect and melty when it's fresh.

I loved that the filling was distributed all the way to the edges, so you get some in every single bite. * Chicken Avocado Salad: A wonderfully light meal featuring grilled chicken breast and a light dressing.

What an adorable little cafe. The owner was wonderful. He was so pleasant and could see he really…read moreloves what he does. I didn't get photos unfortunately but will be back and can update then. We ordered a marble loaf, croissants, chocolate hazelnut croissant (casse-noisette), brownie, kouign-amann and the fraisier. Oh. My. Heaven. This is the first bakery in a long time we have been craving days later. Everything. I mean EVERYTHING was delicious with the exception of the marble loaf. The loaf was extremely firm and had no flavor. My son who loves everything sweet only had two bites. The rest made up for it. My husband LOVES croissants and this is by far the best he has had in all of Washington. The casse-noisette was ridiculous. Often when you have stuffed croissants they either have barely any or way too much "stuffing". This was perfect. The perfect blend of chocolate and hazelnut. The crunch of the hazelnuts on top were a welcome contrast. Cannot wait to return. What a gem!

A solid 4 stars. Who knew that one can get the best classic croissant on a trip to Seattle. Croissant - perfect, I would have gotten another one but will look forward to returning before our trip ends. Avocado toast - egg added (extra) was the best bang for your buck and the lightly dressed, bright, crisp salad was a pleasant surprise. Chicken salad - no picture but was a no-frills, arugula based salad with shredded chicken and a hint of cheese. This was our least favorite item and if not for this the food would have been given 5 stars. Large latte - generous portion and delicious with the star of the show - a plain croissant! The ambiance is impeccably French cafe too but the way in which you order wasn't efficiently laid out; seemed a bit confusing. Perhaps it was simply due to there being a large group who were seated right near the slightly hidden cashier (to the side of the pastry display) or we weren't sure what to expect on our first time there. We sat outside and that was extremely pleasant. Definitely would go back for the croissant alone!
