I love black arrows. What a great addition to the neighborhood. It's truly become our favorite coffee shop in SEA. Been coming since they first opened and, it truly has become one of my favorite cafes in the area. I love the layout of the space and the ambiance. I often come here to get work done when I need to get out of the apartment. I am a huge fan of their cafe con miel and love their pastries too. Definitely recommend getting a cafe con miel and conche to dip in! I also just love how they do cuppings and have events in their cafe; feels very community oriented and friendly. read more

Straight to the point, quality control needs to be addressed. I ordered a drip which was quickly served from the dispenser. Sitting down and drinking, it was lukewarm and had obviously been sitting there a *long* time. Put a timer on the cannister and dump what ieft when it is no longer hot, however long that is. Partner was happy with a cappuccino, the cinnamon roll was just ok. Seating was comfortable. Would not return. read more

I walked here two blocks down from my hotel and absolutely loved their coffee. I ended up buying their espresso beans after ordering an iced americano because the espresso was just that good! The guy who I ordered from was very nice and I felt welcomed as someone visiting from California. Their bacon Brie pastry was amazing as well! Black Arrows Coffee is easily one of my favorite coffee spots in Seattle. They have two great locations: one in Belltown and a coffee cart at Pacific Place downtown. The Belltown location is cozy, with a welcoming ambiance and nice music. It's the perfect spot to sit down, enjoy a cup of coffee, and get some work done on my computer. I love spending time there, as it feels relaxing and comfortable. The Pacific Place coffee cart is super convenient and always a friendly experience. It's a great use of free time to stop by, grab a cup of coffee, and chat with their team. They are always so kind and engaging, and I've had some really good conversations while stopping there. Their specialty coffee is amazing. My favorites are the Condor Decaf and Guava Banana. I also love their every-two-weeks coffee subscription, which perfectly fits my coffee needs. I originally gave this place a 5 star because I had such good service the first I came but I guess it was when they weren't busy. I came again on a busy Sunday morning and they took nearly 30 minutes to make my order of 2 lattes and a pastry. When I asked about my order the lady was flippant and just said "Yeah it's coming we had like 50 orders". I want to come back here because it's so close to my place but with this service when it's busy I don't think I'll be back. read more

One of the best coffee shops I've been to. Had an Ethiopian pour over and it was served in a thermal Hario server, so it was well over two cups, and it kept it hot. $19 for a coffee and pastry is already expensive. But the pastry was terrible - I'd have preferred a plastic wrapped, mass produced option to what I got. Went to grab some breakfast here. I ordered an oat milk vanilla latte with light ice, a "turkey bacon" croissant and I split a danish with my partner. The coffee was pretty decent, I had asked for light ice but I don't think they heard that part since my drink was half ice :( I was under the impression that my croissant would be made of turkey bacon but it was actually turkey AND (pork) bacon. I've been a regular at this place since they opened and every time I arrive they still act like they've never seen me before in their life. Some of the most indifferent people I've ever been served by in this city. When I first started coming, they told me they'd be featuring vegan pastries soon but I have never once seen any in the case. The coffee is good but not the best in Seattle, by a long shot. The last time I was in, someone was allowed to let their dog walk around the cafe without a leash, and it came up to my table sniffing for food. Another dog was barking loudly. I've tried SO hard to like this place but it's becoming less and less worth the trip to the edge of Belltown. read more

The barista was very nice and the interior is simple and cute. We got an Americano with their homemade Salted Caramel syrup and a double espresso. The espresso was a medium roast and pretty strong. The Americano was honestly pretty bland. I was hoping for more of the salted caramel flavor but didn't taste any of it unfortunately.

I don't normally drink coffee (I'm more of a tea person, if all the boba and tea shop reviews I…read morewrite don't say anything!), but I'm always up for new experiences, especially ones that allow me to expand my taste horizons and ability to describe flavors and aromas. After booking a tea tasting at a local tea shop, I went around looking for coffee tastings and found Victrola. Every Friday at 11AM, they offer a free tasting class, so we, of course, booked the very next Friday! Arriving at the shop a bit before 11AM, it was pretty full, with most tables taken and a short line of 2-3 people in front of me. We checked in with the cashier and he said the barista was getting things ready. Maybe 5 minutes later, we were led to the room in the back, where the barista introduced the tasting experience and handed us two sheets of paper, one with the anatomy of a coffee cherry, and the other with their coffee flavor wheel. For this week, it was only us two for the tasting, so we had a full monopoly of the barista (according to him, the prior week was 8 people!). We were able to try two coffees - both single origin, one from Guatemala and the other from Colombia. We started by sniffing the beans and grounds, with the Guatemalan emanating notes of lightly roasted peanuts (per tasting notes, it's milk chocolate, orange, and "elegant") and the Colombian with dark soy and umami notes (per tasting notes, it's pineapple, melon, and date), at least to my nose. The barista brewed both via pour over (if I remember correctly, it was 203F water with 20g of the Guatemalan, 24g of the Colombian in 360g of water). I forgot the exact grind sizes he used. Interestingly, the flavor profile of the Colombian was completely different to me between the grounds and the final brew. Very fruity throughout - I'm not that adept at description, but it's definitely a fresher, crisp fruit, not dried fruit, and not red fruit or berries, nor citrus. I'll have to file this one away as pineapple and green apple, per the barista. In terms of mouthfeel, it's thick, almost syrupy, coating the mouth with the fruity flavors. The Guatemalan, on the other hand, is completely different, starting with roasted coffee, then still with the peanut notes, but also adding a caramel-like essence. Very 'brown' on the color wheel. Mouthfeel-wise, thinner, watery like tea. I have never had good quality coffee before and this was certainly an experience that opened my eyes to how good coffee can actually be. I still have a ton of tea leaves to go through, but perhaps when I'm nearing the end, I'll have to start drinking more coffee. Tea, then chocolate, and now maybe coffee? My wallet is crying...

The make excellent Matcha lattes and I enjoyed their cheddar and dill scone with raspberry filled croissant. Super delicious. What I really liked about this space was that they have table chairs couches set up like a living room style situation and I saw a lot of people trying to get work in or have meetings there as well. There is also an art exhibit to the side to take a peek at if you need to take a break from what you're doing. It's a really cool space if you're looking to change out your environment for a bit. Despite it being the morning time, they pumped out the drinks as well as the food pretty quickly and customer service spot unfriendly highly recommend this place if you're looking for a café situation to do your work or have a meet up.

Although not a large space, its corner location with large windows (especially with its southern exposure) makes it feel light and airy. The coffee itself is of good quality and is moreover served with a small chocolate that seems to successfully meld a dark chocolate taste with a milk chocolate creaminess. A really nice touch. Admittedly, CU does have a bit of a corporate plasticity to it (note its prominently promoted, shinily bagged bean offerings), but that does not detract from the fact that they know what they are doing. If funky is your preference, stick to Capital Hill. For me, as long as the coffee is good, vive la difference!

I appreciated the patience from the servers and their helpful directions in picking the menu items. I will warn you that we had to reserve our spot months in advance. This is probably because the restaurant is great but pretty limited in seating space. However, it was definitely worth the wait, so don't be discouraged.
