I saw this place recommended on Reddit and was overall happy with the coffee here. It definitely is more focused on the bitter part of the coffee but it definitely is bold. Out of most other coffeeshops this place is on the lower priced side. The main downside was the service. She wasn't the most personable to say the least but I guess the coffee is the more important part of this more "hole in the wall" kind of coffee establishment. This is a small coffee shop around a busy area. I was lodging nearby, and there was always a line up at this spot, so I knew the coffee must be good. They have a couple chairs outside. Very little care goes into the cleanliness of the stores, and one store even has a toilet in the back of house area that is not separated whatsoever from the merchandise and BEANS that they sell. I never have a good experience whenever I go here. Yet I come back like the easy cheap slut I am. I ordered a small latte as I walked past this shoebox for a coffee shop. I was running an errand and was also crashing from my morning coffee. I purchased a small latte, their seasonal one. Payed a total of 6.37. Small. No alternative milk. Just whole milk. This spot was located near our hotel so I wanted to give it a try! I saw from one of the photos on Yelp that there was this burnt creme latte. I asked the worker what that was and I forgot exactly but she said it was a combination of vanilla, hazelnut and I think something else. It sounded good so I ordered it. My drink was good, nothing amazing but like a regular latte. I liked how it had a nice color to it (not too milky or light). My drink came out fast and I noticed the line got long afterwards. When I was attending a convention at the Summit building of the convention center, I went to Monorail a few times. Seattle is supposed to have good coffee, but the coffee at my hotel was meh, and I needed a fix. I found the service to be always fast and friendly. There would occasionally be a line, but they would move through it really quickly. Everything was made to order. My friend was sad they don't have drip coffee, but since I prefer mine to be freshly made, it was great. I tried a cortado, an oat milk latte, and an iced oat milk latte, and all three were really good. I didn't hang out in front but they do have some tables nearby. read more

This is a great, quick coffee spot in Downtown Seattle, and honestly it was the best tasting coffee throughout our trip in Seattle. Monorail is hands down some of the best coffee in Seattle! I normally have a wonderful experience here but today was slightly different. I've been sick and not left my apartments downtown in days. I decided to venture out this morning for a espresso treat, and knew Monorail could cure my depressed blues. This location didn't adversite the "basic witch coffee" which other locations have posted. I had forgotten the exact name, but got the "witch" part correct. The barista this morning was not helpful or having it when I called it a "witches brew." She was incredibly sassy and my coffee showed it (no heart or fun design like the guy in front of me received). She seemed annoyed and pissed off by me for calling a "witches brew" and acted like I was crazy when I kept saying the drink with "witch" in it. This experience was off putting but won't keep me away. Please just be kind when customers try, I was half there this morning and trying my best :) read more

Loved Monorail!! Located a short walk from our hotel, we came by and there was a huge line. It moved quickly though! I tried the coconut cold foam cold brew, and it was delightful!! Notable espresso machine. Superb coffee. Quality experience. This is a walk-up window coffee shop. Seattle is home to many fantastic coffee shops and Monorail is definitely a must try when visiting. They have a few locations, however I would recommend trying this specific location. It's a busy one, but the walk-up and order makes for a unique experience. They don't have indoor seating but do offer some tables to sit and enjoy the busy area! Definitely gives a unique ambiance! We visited during the fall months and I really enjoyed the Spicy Orange mocha. They also make a great cortado. There is also a variety of tea that is no doubt delicious. I ordered a cortado and sister ordered the ube matcha. The cortado was delicious and the matcha was perfect with subtle sweetness. Service was impeccable. You order and they make your drink immediately. I asked if they did the cuban espresso shots here which is called a cubano, and received one on them (which was super tasty!). read more
