Yuzu Financier, Sausage, Egg & Cheese Breakfast Sandwich
    Miranda L.

Went over around 9:30 am on a Friday and there was a short line but gave us some time to decide on what we wanted. The staff were helpful and told us that one of their most popular items was the financier. Sausage, Egg & Cheese Breakfast Sandwich - Tasted like a classic breakfast sandwich where it was savory and salty from the sausage and a nice bite from the melted cheese.. The bun was sweet but a little dry and flakier than I thought it would be since it was a brioche bun. Yuzu Financier - They mentioned their most popular was the honey financier but I thought the yuzu flavor sounded interesting. The quality was nice, soft inside and light crust layer outside. It was sweet, mildly sour and had a light almond flavor. What stood out about this place was the pricing of their items, 6 dollars for a breakfast sandwich and 1.75 for the financier. Overall, my friend and I enjoyed the two items and would definitely go back for breakfast another time.

I came for the Einspanner. Not a lot of cafes cater to this special type of drink. It is a rich layered traditional Viennese coffee drink. The first sip was good but that was the only good part. Seconds after and a few minutes passing, the Einspanner completely dissolved. Stirred the drink and it became completely flat. I expected it to become creamy and rich even stirred. An Einspanner has layers: milk, coffee, flavored heavy cream, sometimes whipping cream. There was too much water added as well. The drink lacked coffee and Einspanner flavor. Despite the coffee experience, customer service was great. **If you're looking for a good Einspanner drink in Seattle, I recommend URL Coffee on first hill**

To celebrate a Friday, decided to mix up the schedule and grab some baked goods here for the first time. It was probably around 10ish, and there was not a huge rush. A worker immediately came to help us, but we requested a bit more time which she happily gave us time. Ended up ordering two baked goods which, for this area, a pretty good price! The financier was really good, could really taste the honey. My coworker got a coffee one too which he enjoyed but said the flavor was milder. I also got an everything scone, which was definitely good, basically an everything biscuit with some cream cheese atop, so I'd definitely try other savory scones (or their sweet ones again!) One of my coworkers also ordered a breakfast sandwich, which took a surprisingly long time to come out. So we sat and waited while the sandwich was being prepped. The cafe is super airy and bright, and has some great outdoor seating. And my coworker did love her sandwich after! Will definitely be back and I can't wait to try some of their drinks!

Disclaimer: My review was solely for service and atmosphere but not coffee as I only ordered a bottled tea to go. We stopped here for a quick breakfast and coffee before the Amazon meeting. We enjoyed the convenience of being right near Apollo and having a big table to work for a bit. A+ for a work friendly environment!

Great breakfast sandwiches are a step above. Service is top notch, friendly, professional, welcoming. Open, light, cheerful vibe with good internet connection. Feels like a hidden treasure in the city. Check it out.

Bulgogi Sandwich and Iced Spanish Latte!

Cafe An'Clair is one of the, if not, the best cafés in Seattle! I highly recommend it to anybody visiting. Can't think of many negatives, only just the days that they're open. Otherwise I would go much more often. To start, the staff are extremely sweet and friendly. The tone when they greet you and speak just put you in a good mood and wanting to order and interact. Of course, what's a good café without their offerings? Good balance of food with coffee/drinks, pastries, and savory options! My go to is the Spanish latté, either iced or hot (usually half sweet but sometimes full sweetness is a nice dessert!). I've also enjoyed their An'Clair cold brew as well. As far as savory, the bulgogi sandwich is to die for, haha. It feels like a balanced meal, as the sandwich is hefty and has a good variety of toppings on it! Lastly, you can't go wrong with a scone or financier. I'd even go as far to say that I love their scones more than the fair scones. In fact, they just might be the best scones I've ever had! I usually order take-out, but the café itself is a cute and has some seating. Very chic and definitely fits the surrounding area. Even when I move away, I hope I can keep coming back! Such a gem of a place in this city (:

Hot caramel latte, iced Spanish latte, iced chai

The staff was so friendly and helpful! They gave great suggestions and explained the sweetness level of their drinks. I ordered an iced Spanish latte. The sweetness can be controlled in this drink, but I like my drinks on the sweeter side so I didn't make any adjustments. It comes with a cinnamon stick on top which I thought was cute. Other drinks our group ordered were a caramel latte, hazelnut latte, and I ed chai. The chai was delicious and I loved my Spanish latte! We also ordered the egg and cheese sandwich which was ok, nothing special. I think their drinks are more of the highlight.

What a great place to sit down and grab a bite or drink. They have some unique drinks like Spanish latte. The place is very clean and neat. Staff was friendly and the drinks were great.

An adorable little coffee shop, we stopped into Cafe An'Clair on a rainy morning. We appreciated that while they are not allowing guests to dine inside during the 'VID times, they set up an outdoor heated tent situation where we could hang out for a little bit. I had a spanish latte (half sweetness) and two financiers: honey and yuzu. The dude had a drip coffee and the granola, as it was one of the few gluten free options on the menu. My latte was great, and I loved that it was something different from the thousands of other coffee shops around. I'm definitely glad that I got it half sweet--and that my barista asked me what level of sweetness I wanted--because I typically am not huge on a super sweet drink, and I found the 50% to be perfect. I was eh on the honey financier, but really enjoyed the yuzu that had actual little pieces of citrus peel in it. They were great for a small little snack. The boyf said his drip was a perfectly fine drip coffee, but nothing to write home about. He liked his granola too, but did say it was mostly pepitas. Cafe An'Clair was really cute and overall pretty enjoyable. Make sure you peep the little avocado plants growing on the counter!

    matcha latte
    Kristina T.

Cute coffee shop to work or study from! I ordered the 8oz matcha latte and was able to customize the sweetness level--which I appreciate since I don't like my drinks too sweet. The matcha drink itself was quite yum and of quality, and the top layer of froth topped it off. In terms of the staff and service, the cashier and barista were all so friendly :-) best way to start your work day and would just come back for the service!

    Plants for sale here!

Lorenzo opened Paseo in 1994, where his popular Cuban roast pork sandwiches were regarded as among the best in the country. After years of local expansion, Paseo abruptly filed for bankruptcy in 2014. The brand was subsequently bought out by a local entrepreneur, but the sale did not include Paseo's secret recipes (the reboot attempted to reverse engineer the sandwiches with varying success). So, in 2015, Lorenzo's sons revived Paseo under a new name, Un Bien, armed with their father's original recipes. Nowadays, Un Bien is generally regarded as superior to Paseo, and you can grab their Caribbean sandos at one of the three locations across Seattle. You can't miss the pastel pink-and-teal palette of the original shack on an otherwise drab block of Ballard. As you approach the wooden window, you are greeted by the aroma of sauteed meats and veggies. Communal laquered wood benches are lined up underneath a covered pergola. Fifties hits ring respectfully around the kitchen. My partner and I visited for late weekday lunch, and we ordered immediately. We opted to focus on the signature pork shoulder, so we split the #1 Caribbean Roast and #2 The Press. Across both sandwiches, we were impressed by the tender pork, rich onions, lemon-forward aioli, and marinade-soaked baguette. The standard roast pork sandwich added on pickled jalapenos and crisp romaine, culminating in a dynamic flavor that accentuated the meat. Meanwhile, The Press featured tart banana peppers, smoked ham, and melty Swiss, amping up the sweet and savory flavors alike; we agreed that this extra-messy sandwich just edged out the standard version. Our order took just minutes to be prepared, and the bill just topped $30. Despite the fanfare, I still found myself surprised by just how satisfying Un Bien's sandwiches turned out to be. Across all the food I ate in Seattle, only these pork sandwiches would be worth a return visit, even if I had to venture out of my way.

We ordered promptly, but were told we would only have about 10 minutes to use the seating area before it closed. When we asked for clarification because the restaurant was advertised as being open until 9:00 PM, staff confirmed they were open until then but said the seating area would close earlier anyway. After receiving our food, we were told not to sit down and were asked to leave the seating area altogether. The interaction felt abrupt and discourteous, especially given that we had arrived well before closing and had purchased food with the expectation that we could eat on-site. The food itself was average, but the poor customer service and inconsistent messaging about seating left a much stronger impression than the meal. There are other better places. Skip.

I was a bit confused on where to order until I realized there were kiosks by the front counter. It would've been nice if one of the workers actually had said something to me. Anyway, onto the food. I got the Fast Eddie with fries and it was alright. The meat was bit dry. Yes there was the au jus to dip in and it helped quite a bit, but all the flavors just didn't mesh. It was basically an ordinary french dip. The fries were okay, but the jalapeno aioli was great! That made everything better, but not enough to save the sandwich. Not sure if I would come back, but I would definitely try a different sandwich. One that caters more to my taste buds

Located in the Seattle Center Armory, along with many other food vendors, Big Mike's Sandwich Company is serving up huge cheesesteaks, chopped cheese, and other East Coast-style subs. For $25, I picked up the cheesesteak and fries combo. Not a terrible price for the portion. Waited about 10-15 minutes for the sandwich to come out. You order on a tablet here, and then they call your name. It's a small storefront, so you really have to stay nearby to hear your name being called in the large space that is the Armory. Not much interaction with staff. Plenty of seating throughout the Armory, though shared with other restaurants. The food came out piping hot. Obviously, they cook everything fresh to order because the inside of the fries was like lava. The fries were thick-cut and seasoned to perfection. The sandwich was good. I thought some pieces of the steak were a bit tough, and the roll seemed a bit over-steamed or possibly stale. A good sandwich and decent portion, nonetheless. I'm still going 5 stars here. I think Big Mike's is a great choice if you want a hearty, meat-filled sandwich and you happen to be in the area. However, I think you could be happy with another dining option in the Armory, too. My kids loved the MOD Pizza nearby. While there isn't anything wildly unique going on at Big Mike's, they are still pushing out great sandwiches at reasonable prices with a no-frills ordering process.

The only drawback was the price--at around $20 per sandwich, it felt a bit expensive for what you get, especially considering it was just a 6-inch sub, even though the quality was good. We visited during a FIFA World Cup match, so the line was quite long, but it moved steadily and efficiently. No complaints there. The atmosphere is casual and straightforward, with indoor seating only. Its downtown location near the stadiums makes it a convenient spot for a quick meal before or after an event.
