I love a local independent coffee shop and this one is my fave for the homey atmosphere, friendly baristas, and possey of dogs usually hanging around outside. I've been here a handful of times and the 16oz oat milk mochas they make me pack a serious punch of caffeine and flavour. It's a little too strong for my sensitive stomach, but after only one visit, the barista remembered and put extra oatmilk for me when I returned. I love that they allow me to use my own clean personal cup. They also have extra carafes of oat milk and half and half on their well stocked condiment bar which I really appreciate. My only feedback is that it's a little difficult to figure out where to bus your dishes. The bus tub is under the back side of the coffee bar and hard to find if you're not already familiar with the cafe, or super tall like my date. read more

I finally tried Analog Coffee, and it definitely lives up to its popularity in terms of atmosphere. There's almost always a line, and the space is cozy with a clean, well-designed aesthetic. I got a hot oat milk latte with vanilla. It was good overall but I wish there was more vanilla flavor. The latte art was nice though! Seating inside is limited and there's a few small tables outside, so it's better suited for catching up with a friend rather than working on your laptop. Tried Analog for the first time today- We really appreciated how knowledgeable the first barista was. She walked us through the beans and expected flavor profiles, which made us SUPER excited to try the pour overs. Unfortunately, the final cups didn't match what was described. Both tasted a bit over-extracted and lacked the distinct flavors we were expecting, especially at $9. It appeared the gooseneck kettle was being filled from a commercial water boiler, which may make it harder to precisely control water temperature for pour overs. We also had a confusing experience with ordering. There appeared to be one line for coffee and a separate line for checkout, and there was signage suggesting food could be ordered after coffee. Based on that, I went to the register just to grab a pastry, but was told I had cut the line (no one was waiting to pay) and that it was a "favor" not to send me to the back. It might help to have clearer and more consistent signage about how ordering works. read more

I came to Analog on a Sunday around 1:30pm! There was a decent crowd already here, and while it isn't the biggest space, there's counter seating as well as small tables in the back. There's an order line and line where you pay/pick up food so don't be confused (I know I was). I ordered a honey latte and egg sandwich ($15)! I highly recommend adding mushroom and making the sandwich spicy. I really enjoyed both items! The only issue I ran into was that their wifi was super spotty. However, the workers were really mindful about this and communicated that they've been trying to get it fixed. They restarted the router and then it was working just fine!! The cafe definitely has a cozy vibe which I love. I also really liked seeing people sit at the counter and unclip the newspapers to read, I haven't seen this idea anywhere else. For my second coffee of the day, I was feeling something fizzy and lightly sweet, so the ESPRESSO TONIC (5.60) was the perfect option. The drink came out super fizzy, and I was told to wait a bit before mixing the espresso with the tonic water. Overall, the drink satisfied my cravings but not the best I've had. This shop has been ranked very highly on my list for the last few years for 3 main reasons: the space, they're connected with b~side foods, and of course the coffee. To set the ambiance they have a high quality record player always spinning vinyl, ample amount of seating, and lots of big windows. Regarding b~side foods, might be controversial, but they serve the best breakfast sandwich in Seattle (fight me) which would have to be a whole other review on its own. And finally, the coffee is sorced from some of the best roasters in the PNW like Heart from Portland, Candor from Bellingham, Proud Mary (my fave from Australia and Portland) and a Seattle staple Stamp Act. Other than just straight SOE I also love their espresso tonic and spiced chai which is very spiced. I live super close to this cafe but never came in to try any of their espresso! as the fall/winter gloom takes over the city, I had to give them a try. I came in on a saturday morning at around 11 and waited maybe 10 minutes to get to the front to order. The baristas were very nice and they were incredibly sweet to not only their regulars, but also newcomers. I ordered a hot 12oz latte which was beautifully crafted with classy latte art on the surface. The blueberry scone was a little too sweet, but the smooth bitterness of the latte balanced out the sweetness perfectly. The space inside was a bit small, but overall manageable; I was able to get a spot instantly, but that may have also been because the weather was a little chillier. Overall, the vibes were great, didn't feel awkward at all sitting next to strangers focused on their own thing (reading, working on their laptops, etc.). I definitely want to come back and try more of their menu items. As a resident of Cap Hill, this cafe definitely gives the local cafe vibes with reasonable pricing. read more
