Once you walk through the iron gate, you walk into a secret garden and it is simply magical. The have seating indoors and outdoors in a covered veranda with heat lamps. It was beautiful. The cocktails and food were amazing, we had the feta dip with olives and their house made bread, the delicata squash and beet salad, the lamb meatballs and the short ribs. Everything was delicious, and our server was just perfect. It was a great evening and we are looking forward to dining there again. There is a handful of parking spots right it front of the restaurant, and street parking can be challenging on the weekends, get there a little early :)

Dishes were okay. We got the Sunday prix fixed. The starter soup (cauliflower) was a bit bland and the duck entree was dry. Service was friendly and timely and the decor was great. Lighting was a bit dark.

The building is beautiful and tucked away in a garden. They have done a wonderful job of preserving the unique aspects of the space. The staff could not have been more kind. We had the prix fixe menu on a Saturday with the wine pairing. Everything was delicious and the pairings worked so well. This is my new favorite place for a nice dinner out in Seattle.

Corson Building is a romantic/celebratory place to come for a special day/event!! The food and service is amazing. We did their Sunday supper prix fixe menu, which does come with carafe of wine. The dessert of orange oil cake with fennel seeds was sooo yum!

We came here once during the fall and again in the winter. I love the winter menu better personally. The app, main to dessert flows really smoothly and I love how they take risks with different local ingredients to create amazing dishes. One of a kind dinning experience. Service inside could match the dishes better but when we dined outside, the service was amazing.

I came here for my birthday and really enjoyed my experience! The atmosphere was gorgeous, and I was so impressed that they were able to keep us warm even though we had an outdoor table. The service and food were also wonderful, and I enjoyed challenging the bartender with an off-menu request that resulted in the best salted daiquiri I've ever had! I loved everything on the weekend 6-course prix fixe menu and was excited to find out they switch it up every week. Dinner ended with the server bringing out a candle with my dessert, which was very sweet! Only con is the parking situation. I was able to find parking next to the park nearby but it was quite the walk across old train tracks and a sports field to get there. Don't wear heels here! The pot holes around the restaurant are no joke.

I'm giving it three stars because nothing was wrong with the experience. That being said, I won't be rushing to go back. Perhaps it's hard when you go somewhere with already high expectations. It was our five year anniversary and I was really hoping for a knock you out of your socks dining experience. It definitely wasn't that. We were barely acknowledged at all for it being our anniversary. I think the host said something when they first we walked us to our table and the server said thank you for celebrating with us. We ordered a ton of food and I really can't say anything stood out as being amazing. It was all good, just nothing special or memorable. This is hard when I've had a couple other fantastic dining experiences in Seattle recently. The best thing we had was the lemon tart for dessert. Perhaps the long dining experience is part of the vibe as well but we were there a solid 3hrs for a 2 person dinner. There were lots of gaps between plates that seemed overly long. Rarely did our server check in on us. Again, just not the well pampered, overall fantastic experience you want for a special occasion or any expensive dining experience . If I could.... I'd really give it 3.5 stars.

Have been here twice for special occasions and would 100% come back again! Tasting menus are always appealing to me since I can try a variety of food but often times, I'm still hungry at the end of the night. This is definitely not the case at the Corson Building. Menu items can sound simple but are done so well. Even the salads are delicious. First came on a Saturday which has more courses and a little more upscale. Second meal was for Sunday Supper which is more casual, fewer courses, and comes with about 4 glasses of wine in 2 carafes. While my husband and I enjoyed both meals, our preference is Saturday for more courses. We're also not huge wine drinkers at restaurants. The ambiance is very nice - not uptight but still feels like a special occasion. Their outdoor patio is heated and was completely fine temperature-wise at the end of October. There are a few parking spots in front of the building but if need be, there's street parking all around Georgetown. Overall, would recommend!

This is such a pretty aesthetic place, especially with the outdoor garden (which is covered) and also when you first walk in to the restaurant. It exudes a charm that is like Harry Potter, or even just an old school European building. Reservations were fairly elusive. We happened to be able to find reservations for a Saturday, only 1 table left when we checked a month in advance, then set Resy notify for a better time slot (5:45pm). Parking was also hard to find as they have a parking lot that was filled within a few minutes after opening, and our reservation was staggered 15 min after opening, so we resorted to street parking nearby (which we got lucky). Saturday is the only day they do their signature prie fixe menu, at $110 per person, with optional wine pairing at $55 per person (which we opted not to do due to the wine selections, but we did get 2 glasses of wine a la carte - 1 red and 1 white). First impression of wine selection: I wished there were larger offerings of local Washington and Oregon wines. The prie fixe came with 6 courses as well as a complimentary kir (sparkling wine based) drink to start. The first course was an amuse bouche that is an albacore tuna pate crostini with shishito pepper. It was a good toast to start, which paired well with the kir. Heirloom tomatoes were fairly solid and I loved the feta that came along with it. It whet the appetite for the next courses. This is the course that they brought out the white wine. The steamed halibut was flavorless but it did add some flavor with the olive tapenade which was actually pretty good (I don't go out of my way for olives, but they made this well). The anchovy sauce was subtle yet strong, pairing well with the halibut. The sweet corn chowder felt fairly basic and doesn't really feel in place for a fine dining restaurant. However, they added bacon and dill to it which enhanced the chowder, but it was a bit on the saltier and tangier side despite the dish saying it was sweet. They didn't bring out spoons for this course so I am like ??? so I had to ask them for spoons. The lamb shoulder was good but felt fairly standard. It didn't really carry forth any sophistication and reminds me of just ordering lamb shoulder in a sit down restaurant. It was good but didn't really stand out. The almond cake dessert was also decent but not outstanding. There is a nice almond flavor to it, but the fruits were a bit dry and the cream could be a bit creamier. Overall, this place felt like a 3.5 stars, but I rounded up since their confusion and some lack of service favored us a little bit. We only ordered 2 glasses of wines, but the server mistakenly gave each of us the wine pairing associated to the courses midway in (we only realized when they brought the dessert wine from the pairing menu). Fortunately, they still only charged us for 2 glasses that we ordered (albeit a few dollars more) but it was fine. With a taste of the wine pairing, it was a good call we didn't get it since while the price point is definitely lower than most restaurants, the pairing was a bit weak and didn't really complement much flavors from the associated courses.

I love the corson building for a special dinner. Fancy but without being stuffy - DELISH food and nice portions. I have been 2x for my birthday and we share a few dishes. Amazing waitress and staff. Beautiful indoor dining area!

The service was amazing here. It was definitely a very classy and elegant dinner. The garden was beautiful even at night and the outdoor seating area was cozy with the heating lamps. This place is so special and I will definitely be back.

We went for a pre fixed dinner and we were very delighted! Food: 4/5 ; the app and dessert was a stealer! The remainder was decent (chowder, and 2 entrees) The kitchen accommodates for any allergies. All preparations were well done, flavorful. The cuisine changes seasonally, and the items change week over week little by little. Ambience: 5/5 Rustic, Romantic - perfect lighting and minimal autumn-like decor. The place is not super well maintained but that's the look they went for. It's a historic building and few cracks here and there on walls, and visible bricks make accentuates the historic vibe. They also have an outdoor seating, that's green and magical with fairy lights all around. Heaters provided. Service: 6/5 - The server was the sweetest. Since I went there for a special event with my partner, they surprised us with a complimentary drink, and the dessert came with candle! We were accommodated in a nice lil nook by the window, and the server also came and placed a heater next to us indoors to warm our feet.

Cardamom cake - stay away from this one

I had high expectations of this place and I'm sad to say they were not met. We had the prix fixe dinner ($110 per person) and 2 out of the 5 dishes were good with well balanced flavors, the cod and the lamb. The dessert was really a disaster, the cardamom cake was dry and there were other ingredients slapped on the plate that just didn't work. We were asked to hold on to our utensils between dishes with no where to put them on the table. That was a major turnoff for me, service and hygiene wise. Maybe worth coming back in the summer time on the patio and trying the dishes a la carte.

The space itself is full of character and charm, which meant we didn't have to add much decor. GTB already brings the perfect vibe. Between the ballroom, theater, and patio, we had so many beautiful backdrops for every part of our celebration. The catering was incredible - our guests couldn't stop raving about the food, especially the brisket (which the chef loving tended to into the early morning hours). We also loved that we got to do a tasting beforehand, and the team was wonderful about accommodating dietary restrictions. The bar was just as great! Our specialty cocktail and mocktail were both a big hit. Danielle, the venue manager, was amazing to work with throughout the entire process. Her communication and organization were top-notch, and she was so friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible. On the day itself, Danielle and the GTB team were calm, detailed-oriented, and took care of everything behind the scenes so we could enjoy our wedding without stress. The in-house florist created stunning arrangements, which made things that much easier for us. Everyone we interacted with was warm and welcoming. GTB is very LGBTQ-affirming, and worked seamlessly with our other vendors. We're still getting compliments from guests about how beautiful and effortless everything felt. Georgetown Ballroom truly gave us the wedding of our dreams.

There is an upstairs and downstairs but the hall itself is on the main level (or upstairs). On one side of the building, there is a lounge area near the bathrooms. It is a very clean, well kept space to sit and chill out away from the action. On the other side is the gathering hall. The hall itself has beautiful wood floors and large windows. There are stairs all the way across and two accessible ramps up each side. The stage can fit a variety of needs and they have a podium and other tables that can be set up there, depending on your needs. I've been to most events where round tables are used. Other sets can be with chairs only. There is a sink on each side of the back of the hall as well as areas to hang coats, which I think is a necessity in Seattle. The staff is fantastic! They are flexible and easy to work with in order to meet your needs. I have to say that aside from having things set according to a floor plan, they recognize that it is possible you may have last minute changes and are very accommodating. Before you enter the hall, there is a hallway that can be set as a check-in area. I find that really helpful as people don't get clogged right inside the doors. We had a beautiful wedding at the Seattle Design Center in May 2012--both the ceremony and the reception in the Atrium (the largest room). The venue is gorgeous--ridiculously high ceilings, full of skylights that bring in natural light, neutral tile flooring, a gorgeous grand staircase--part of the second floor balcony. The square footage is enormous and could easily hold 500 people if you wanted to. The BIGGEST PERK of the SDC: you can bring in your own caterer. That, and it's quite reasonably priced compared to other Seattle venues that would hold 200 or more people The biggest downside: the people who are supposed to be helping you plan your wedding in fact know next to nothing about the wedding business--they are managers at Molly's Salads, the daytime food cart! After booking the SDC officially in April 2011 (13 months before our wedding), our SDC "wedding coordinator" changed THREE TIMES. That meant we had to connect with the newbie each and every time to make sure they could accommodate some of our special needs, like having a small religious fire for our ceremony (don't ask). And also confirming (again and again) the rehearsal time and date, as well as where the bridal party would have space for changing and storing stuff. Needless to say, we had to be very proactive in dealing with the SDC and made sure to get everything in writing. They provided very little outside of signing the contract and some tables and chairs. If it had not been for our stellar wedding planners of Blue Ribbon, this event could never have happened. Thus, I am torn--the SDC is a stunning venue, but really needs to focus on event management and hiring people who know what they are doing.

As the…read moreother review mentioned, they had some turnover, but since last Fall there has been one person in charge of booking, Jenifer, and she is GREAT. The rest of their event staff, the people who are on-site managers during the event, are amazing, too: they helped us with everything from weird electrical stuff to dimming the lights for the video portion to moving stacks of chairs over and over as we got the tables set up, and stayed to the bitter end as our worn out staff and volunteers cleaned up (they clean up their own tables and chairs, we rented additional tables and catering-ware which we had to secure for pick up). Both of our events there looked stunning, and our constituents (who have been to many venues over the years) have only given us positive feedback on the move. Plus it's reasonably-priced AND has its own parking lot. I think this is one of the best venues in the city, and I look forward to putting on more events there in the future.
