Moopsie playing at Factory Luxe. For a benefit.

Factory Luxe was the old Rainier Brewery Tasting Room before. It has a small stage and great hardwood flooring for Events. They provide a bar if you wanted to rent the Space. I went to see my friend, Masako's Punk Band Moopsies at one fundraising event a couple of weeks ago. I got a postcard saying there is Karaoke the last Sun of every month. Sign ups at 7 pm. I assume they start by 8 pm. I had another filmmaker friend who had a film festival there too.

Yelp event was held here this evening & it is a great space for bigger events! They had plenty of room for all the tables used & they had a photo booth in the side room. The stage is a little small but was perfect for the band that played tonight. Overall a great space. Took off one star for parking. I had to do quite of few laps before someone finally left. Was a pain in the butt.

This venue was perfect for my anniversary party!! The best part is the location. It's a historic Seattle landmark and it's easy to get to and parking is free. The property manager - Melinda - was was so amazing to work with!! She was a HUGE help throughout the planning of my party. She was always very quick to respond to emails and helpful when it came to various ideas that I needed from her previous experience. I would recommend renting this facility all day every day! xoxo Melinda!!

The Factory Luxe came to my rescue when our original wedding venue decided to shut its doors and run off with $100k worth of money from many a stranded couple. This happened when we had less than 4 months to go for our wedding, and needless to say I was in a blind panic to find a venue with our date open and that would accommodate all our guests and previously decided on vendors. Luxe -- feeling the plight of ~so many~ desperate couples out thousands of dollars, offered anyone who chose them as their new venue a killer discount by waiving their $500 wedding fee. With a price tag now at $900 we had to give them a look and knew right away that their charming space in the the old Rainier Brewing factory was just right for our wedding. So that space? It is great! Beyond being in a classically historical Seattle locale, it has fabulous wood floors, an amazing (and huge) marble bar area, a functional fireplace, stage, a spacious catering kitchen, a great sound system, plus a nice separate alcove room which served perfectly for getting ready and then as our bar. Add on that they have their own tables and chairs and you are looking at a venue that really saves you a penny on rentals plus being MORE than enough for all your event needs. Melinda was also fabulous to work with -- happy to answer the many questions I would send her way, as well as opening the venue for several walk throughs with our photographers, caterer, and officiant. She was there to make sure our big day was special and went off without a hitch, and it certainly did! I cannot express my love and gratitude enough for this awesome venue. If anyone is looking for a great space to host a party for 40-140 people the Factory Luxe will always be my first suggestion.

Melinda and the Factory Luxe saved our wedding! After our previous venue fell through six weeks before our wedding day, Melinda was the superhero we needed. And we loved the space so much. It's classy, cool, historical, and very Seattle. My favorite part was the back room where kiddos could run around without disrupting anyone enjoying their meal! It was tight fitting 100+ people in, but we made it work, and Melinda was very communicative, super easy to work with, and a downright joy. We ended up ordering our wine, beer, and kombucha through her just so we had one less thing to pick up and bring with our crew, and it was a great decision. She was super flexible about whatever we chose, and helpful when recommending options everyone would enjoy. We didn't hire a DJ, just set up my laptop with a playlist on the stage, and the dancing was a hit with her sound system!

This is an amazing event space tucked into a truly historic and iconic Seattle landmark. Want to host an event that people don't even need directions to? Hold it in The Factory Luxe and just tell people to head straight to the old Rainier building. If they don't know where to go, you don't want them at your party. Seriously though, this event space is great with lots of room and the adaptability to put on whatever type of show, party, celebration, or business meeting you could ever think of. The main room can easily hold a couple hundred people and there's also a smaller, secondary room which can be used together with the main room or as its own, more intimate space. One of my favorite parts about the location is the easy access and abundance of free parking which is always a bonus in Seattle.

A phenomenal place! My husband and I chose this venue for our wedding last month, after looking at many options. It had everything that we were looking for- flexible catering/bar choices, indoor/outdoor space, iconic location, large time block, and-most importantly an amazing owner/day of coordinator- Melinda. From planning to execution everything was on point. Melinda was always available to help us with questions, planning, advise. She even introduced us to Jeff at Hengst Studio next door where we had our ceremony (he and his artwork was amazing too!) Our wedding was exactly what we had hoped for- a beautiful space that made us and our guests feel at ease and comfortable. I highly recommend this venue!

We had our wedding and reception at this beautiful historic Seattle landmark. Melinda the owner was the most gracious and accommodating host. This made our day stress free, and fun! If you are looking for a wonderful place for a party, go to the Rainier Brewery, and the Factory Luxe. I know we will utilize this wonderful space again. Just fabulous! If you want a fabulous venue, great management and a beautifully historic location, this is the place for you!

The space itself is full of character and charm, which meant we didn't have to add much decor. GTB already brings the perfect vibe. Between the ballroom, theater, and patio, we had so many beautiful backdrops for every part of our celebration. The catering was incredible - our guests couldn't stop raving about the food, especially the brisket (which the chef loving tended to into the early morning hours). We also loved that we got to do a tasting beforehand, and the team was wonderful about accommodating dietary restrictions. The bar was just as great! Our specialty cocktail and mocktail were both a big hit. Danielle, the venue manager, was amazing to work with throughout the entire process. Her communication and organization were top-notch, and she was so friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible. On the day itself, Danielle and the GTB team were calm, detailed-oriented, and took care of everything behind the scenes so we could enjoy our wedding without stress. The in-house florist created stunning arrangements, which made things that much easier for us. Everyone we interacted with was warm and welcoming. GTB is very LGBTQ-affirming, and worked seamlessly with our other vendors. We're still getting compliments from guests about how beautiful and effortless everything felt. Georgetown Ballroom truly gave us the wedding of our dreams.

For example, the pork shoulder had roasted cherries and hazelnuts that gave it a slightly nutty and sweet flavor. The service is really friendly. I asked about each dish and where they get their ingredients, and the server kindly told me everything is local or made in-house. I've eaten both inside and on the patio. Inside feels like rustic farm dining, while the patio is like sitting right outside that rustic farm. I prefer sitting inside because it's more intimate. There is limited parking space. When we got to the restaurant around 5:40, there was maybe 2-3 spots left in front of the restaurant.

It was sweet to see so many regulars, which gave the space a great community feel. The food was very good overall. We started with the whipped feta and bread, along with their famous salads, which lived up to the hype. My only small gripe was the olives; I wish they had been pitted, as it's a bit awkward to be spitting out pits during a romantic anniversary dinner! The standout of the night was the mid-sized dish of pork belly and lentils. It was wonderfully balanced and so delicious I wish I could replicate the recipe at home. For our mains, we had the fish and the lamb. I would happily order the fish again, though the lamb wasn't quite my cup of tea (though still well-prepared). We finished with the poached rhubarb and strawberry chamomile panna cotta, which was a lovely end to the meal. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was wonderful. We hope to head back again soon, though next time I'd love to try snagging a seat inside!

A parking lot is available but can fill up quickly, depending on the size of your event and other activities that may be going on. There is an upstairs and downstairs but the hall itself is on the main level (or upstairs). On one side of the building, there is a lounge area near the bathrooms. It is a very clean, well kept space to sit and chill out away from the action. On the other side is the gathering hall. The hall itself has beautiful wood floors and large windows. If your event requires darker quarters, the shades can be drawn easily. Right where the windows are, there is a stage that covers the width of the hall. There are stairs all the way across and two accessible ramps up each side. The stage can fit a variety of needs and they have a podium and other tables that can be set up there, depending on your needs. I've been to most events where round tables are used. Other sets can be with chairs only. There is a sink on each side of the back of the hall as well as areas to hang coats, which I think is a necessity in Seattle. The staff is fantastic! They are flexible and easy to work with in order to meet your needs. I have to say that aside from having things set according to a floor plan, they recognize that it is possible you may have last minute changes and are very accommodating. Before you enter the hall, there is a hallway that can be set as a check-in area. I find that really helpful as people don't get clogged right inside the doors. If you're looking for a facility, you should consider NewHolly. They have tons of information on their website about cost and such. A great facility run by great people. Who could ask for more?

We had a beautiful wedding at the Seattle Design Center in May 2012--both the ceremony and the reception in the Atrium (the largest room). The venue is gorgeous--ridiculously high ceilings, full of skylights that bring in natural light, neutral tile flooring, a gorgeous grand staircase--part of the second floor balcony. The square footage is enormous and could easily hold 500 people if you wanted to. The BIGGEST PERK of the SDC: you can bring in your own caterer. That, and it's quite reasonably priced compared to other Seattle venues that would hold 200 or more people The biggest downside: the people who are supposed to be helping you plan your wedding in fact know next to nothing about the wedding business--they are managers at Molly's Salads, the daytime food cart! After booking the SDC officially in April 2011 (13 months before our wedding), our SDC "wedding coordinator" changed THREE TIMES. That meant we had to connect with the newbie each and every time to make sure they could accommodate some of our special needs, like having a small religious fire for our ceremony (don't ask). And also confirming (again and again) the rehearsal time and date, as well as where the bridal party would have space for changing and storing stuff. Needless to say, we had to be very proactive in dealing with the SDC and made sure to get everything in writing. They provided very little outside of signing the contract and some tables and chairs. If it had not been for our stellar wedding planners of Blue Ribbon, this event could never have happened. Thus, I am torn--the SDC is a stunning venue, but really needs to focus on event management and hiring people who know what they are doing.

As the…read moreother review mentioned, they had some turnover, but since last Fall there has been one person in charge of booking, Jenifer, and she is GREAT. The rest of their event staff, the people who are on-site managers during the event, are amazing, too: they helped us with everything from weird electrical stuff to dimming the lights for the video portion to moving stacks of chairs over and over as we got the tables set up, and stayed to the bitter end as our worn out staff and volunteers cleaned up (they clean up their own tables and chairs, we rented additional tables and catering-ware which we had to secure for pick up). Both of our events there looked stunning, and our constituents (who have been to many venues over the years) have only given us positive feedback on the move. Plus it's reasonably-priced AND has its own parking lot. I think this is one of the best venues in the city, and I look forward to putting on more events there in the future.
