Fried Bologna - Even if you didn't grow up with these (like me) you can taste the nostalgia.

If you've been around Gorgetown lately, you'll notice a trend - high end wine bars, and small delicate bites. Maude's seems like the last fight to recapture Georgetowns tradition. What's a bit disappointing here is Maude's isn't bringing much of anything new to the table and captures the same spirt as its sister establishments - 9lbs, Star Brass, and Seattle Tavern. The food here is comforting, and there's a few TV's here which silently run sports - I'm sure they will throw on your game if you ask politely. If you're a fan of Dive Bars - I could see you giving this place a perfect score. If you're like me and they're not your thing - There's nothing for you to see here.

Recently opened and a lot of fun. Dropped in on Labor Day and met Zach, the very friendly and fun gentleman tending the bar. Great selection of beers and simple cocktails. Didn't eat but the food looks quite tasty. Might be listed as a dive bar, but it's clean, welcoming and not trying to be something it isn't!

Menu, front & back with a little flash glare. Far better than the shadow my phone created.

It's a low key atmosphere but they're no slouches in the kitchen. Great bar food and a friendly staff make it easy to stop by.

Delicious diner-style breakfast and the staff there is lovely. Their hollandaise is second to none!

I'm gonna be real with y'all - ya girl was HUNGOVER as all hell coming to this place. I was at the point where nothing was going to help besides hair of the dog, so... A Bloody Mary it was. I asked for it a tad spicy and it came prettttyyyy spicy, but my stomach also wasn't at it's normal state that day, so who knows. They come topped with olives, bacon, and pepperoni. At first I wasn't digging that, but after I sucked some of the drink down and came alive again, the bacon was tasting really good! Staff is friendly, they've got tons of space, and there's a solid food menu (didn't order but lots sounded good). Definitely a hole-in-the-wall spot. Don't expect to walk into something fancy, it's definitely just a dive but it's fun, fairly clean, and prices are fair. We'll be back!

A pint of beer will cost you $8.50 with tax but without tip, so that's basically $10! Service was a bit slow and not too friendly, but definitely not rude. There are much better options on the area for both beer and bars, so I will not be returning anytime soon.

I got the St. Germaine spritz and we shared the lemongrass steak nachos, frites, and kimchi arancini! St Germaine spritz: I love a cocktail/alcoholic beverage that is on the sweeter side. I don't really love when can I taste the alcohol in a mixed drink so this drink was definitely up my alley. It was super refreshing and had a nice bubblyness to it. Lemongrass steak nachos: the lemongrass was definitely a standout taste in these nachos which I loved! I loved the combo of the fresh ingredients like the cilantro, lemongrass, and cabbage with the steak and queso, it helped to balance all the flavors and didn't feel heavy Frites: pretty standard tasting fries, not too skinny and not too thick which I liked! The chili mayo had a nice smoky sweet flavor and it was a great dipping sauce! Kimchi Arancini: these were crispy and had a nice gooey cheese in the middle which definitely had a cheese pull. The kimchi taste I felt was relatively mild which is great for people that don't want such a strong sour kimchi flavor, I love kimchi so I could've definitely had it stronger. They do give you a side of kimchi to go with it, but I didn't love the kimchi it came with. I'm used to getting kimchi from Hmart or other Asian grocery stores but this was pretty mid to me. Overall I would definitely come back to try their other dishes and cocktails! Their brunch menu looks good and I'll probably be back for that next time.

It's a cute, cozy neighborhood spot with good food, reasonable prices, and a warm, relaxed atmosphere. Every time I come, I end up ordering the cauliflower and the bao buns--they're just that good. On my last visit, I tried the galbi-jjim bao, which was generous in portion and really flavorful. The cauliflower dish feels almost like a fresh salad, light and easy to eat, and the gnocchi with chipotle sauce had a nice subtle kick. The focaccia and sardines paired perfectly with champagne and white wine. Right next door is Homer, a very popular restaurant, and I've been to both--but honestly, I prefer this place. Maybe it's a bit less trendy because there aren't many main-course options, but everything I've tried here has been consistently delicious. Overall, it's just a comfortable, inviting spot that's perfect when you want good food and a relaxed drink. Also staff are friendly and welcoming. I've been back many times and will definitely keep coming.
