Came in for happy hour on a nice day but the back patio is still fully covered. On the outside the place doesn't look that big but it's pretty spacious inside and leads deep into the back patio. Still enjoyed a nice day in the back patio with plenty of seats. A good selection of happy hour food. The happy hour drink options were ok. Between 2 people we ordered the nachos, hummus, and arugula salad. The nachos were pretty big and loaded. It comes with bbq pulled pork. The hummus looks very in house made. It had a great green onion flavor to it. The arugula salad had feta cheese with cranberries, tomatoes, cucumbers, and pumpkin seeds. The amount of dressing was perfect. We really love this place! We were there on Friday during HH. Everything was great until shift change, our server/bartender left and I'm guessing didn't tell the two new servers/bartenders that our table was transferred. Coming here on a Tuesday evening, it was quite busy but I was able to snag a booth table that had just been vacated. The space is a bit small on the inside so be prepared that it may be pretty full and a bit loud. There is a large amount of bar seating, however. I was hoping for a new place to eat after reading all the rave reviews. We ordered TO GO. The man who answered the phone was very nice and friendly. I had the fish n chips w coleslaw. The French fries were probably the worst I've ever been served. They were cold and and old. I can't believe they would serve them. Embarrassing. The fish was okay quality for frozen fish but tasteless. They forgot to give me the tartar sauce. The coleslaw seems a few days old also. . The piece of fresh cilantro on top was a nice touch but didn't help. My husband had the corned beef sandwich and potato salad. The sandwich was served on a roll and was pretty good. He would order it again.The potato salad was swimming in mayo so not his fav. I should have known better than to go on a Sunday at 4:00. I've wanted to check out the Can Bar for a while as I've seen some photos of the food on the FB and sparked my interest although I'm not too keen of beer in cans. Since then, I've been here a few times and what stands out in my mind immediately is the slanted back bench seating in the booths that are way more comfortable than the squared off seating. Even the bar stools look comfy. There's always a hip vibe going on and music to match. I can see where someone with some friends can just chill and spend a few hours here drinking beer and partaking of the menu. I'm a chili fanatic and had to have a bowl of chili and wasn't disappointed and remember it was using some brisket as the meat base. The sandwiches are pretty hefty and I tended to destroy the bun holding on where the weight of toppings overwhelmed the bun. Went in to Can Bar for Happy Hour. I saw its transformation during the summer and was anxious to get in and give it a try. There is only street parking, and although we went in for Happy Hour, the street was completely parked up, but there was only one other couple in the bar. Upon entering, the place is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. It has a kitshy nautical theme, but it isn't really overwhelming. Lots of seating at the bar and several booths to choose from. We opted to sit at the bar so we could talk with our bartender/server. Daniel was very friendly and super helpful. He made awesome drinks and gave us a little background on the nautical theme. We ordered off the HH menu expecting, well, HH portions. Imagine our surprise when the portions were full, dinner size. We had the chili cheese fries, ceviche and smoked wings. The chili cheese fries were so good! They were served to us piping hot and literally steaming. The first taste is glorious! They smoke a brisket and use that instead of hamburger meat. I could immediately taste the smokey flavor. The brisket was tender and juicy, absolutely delicious! Definitely a re-order. The smoked wings also had a great smokey taste. The sauce on them was an unusual combination of mayonnaise and vinegar. They were surprisingly good. Juicy and tender and served with the usual blue cheese, carrots and celery on the side. I would definitely order again! The ceviche was tasty, but a little too sweet for my taste. It was fresh, served on a bed of lettuce with a wedge of lime, slices of avocado and tortilla chips for eating. Not sure if I would order this again. Throughout our meal, we ordered various cocktails to sample. I had the Pain Killer and it was seductively good! I saw David make this cocktail, but did not taste any alcohol in it. There was! Careful ordering this one! We also tried the Rio Raft, which had a wonderful smokey taste from the mezcal. Not too sweet and not too tart. I also had a glass of pinot Grigio and a glass of the Elemental Limoncello Cider! OMG! That was my favorite. It was so good. He had an Old Fashioned and a Manhattan, which he said were amazing! Finally was able to stop by this place after passing by it EVERYDAY. I live 2 blocks away from it and one night the friends decided to try this place finally. The place is small so it can get fairly crowded even with just 25 or so people. We got lucky that it wasnt so crowded so we got extra attention from the bartender. We ordered fries chicken wings and drinks. The fries were good but not i gotta have it good. The wings wasnt that bad as well. It has a good kick to it. The winner is their drinks. I heard Can Bar was new to White Center and stopped in there this last Sunday night. The wings were amazing! They have a house made marinade and a house made cucumber ranch (good but not quite the same as ranch ranch), and I also had a cocktail that tasted like summer time. I saw someone else in the bar get it and decided to give it a try, and would definitely get it again.
