Wildwood is a nice neighborhood market/deli with good sandwiches, but limited seating. It's first come first serve where you tell them when you order where you think you'll be sitting (either downstairs near the counter, or outside upstairs) and they bring our your order when it's done. On a busy weekend midday it's hit or miss whether you'll find seating easily or not. Their breakfast burritos and sandwiches are nice and filling. I had a reuben, which was really good and came with the perfect crispy shoestring fries. Prices are reasonable enough. Just be aware of the limited space and that at peak hours you will wait a little bit for food. read more

I had the best lavender latte I've ever had and great drip coffee as well (which is never a given). The Ruben was amazing and it came with McDonald's Fries but better! I was in the area and in the mood for a good BLT. Ordered online and the estimate was 10 min pickup. I got a text before I got there, maybe 3-4 min after I ordered, and my sandwich was ready. The sub was good, but really hard to eat with the black seeds on the outside falling all over the place and the bread was pretty hard and difficult to take a bite. I was impressed by the variety of non-alcoholic beverages like Recess Peach, refreshing! The Eggplant Sandwich was a bit tough from the toasted poppy baguette and messy to eat as the toppings fell out. The flavors of the crispy eggplant, onions, roasted red peppers, and spinach with mozzarella cheese didn't quite pair well. The fries were lukewarm. There's outdoor seating behind the market. Entrance to the front of the market is a bit tucked to the side, there's a separate door for exit (I made the mistake of entering/exit through the same door!) Longest crispy fries in Seattle...at least in my experience. I pulled this beast out of the pile of fries and it kept coming and coming, at least 8 inches long! Had some "soggy fries" at a nearby burger place in White Center, so these were more to my liking. The French dip wasn't bad but I think Wildwood makes the best grilled cheese around. read more

We ended up getting the flat iron steak sandwich and a hot cocoa to go. Steak sandwich is a must when visiting! The sandwich was super juicy and the bread was secretly the star of the show. Bread was nicely toasted and held the sandwich up. Caramelized onions added a nice sweetness and the steak was tender. Only complaint is that the fries were lukewarm and was missing the warm crunch. Every Valentine's Day my partner and I get sandwiches and have a floor picnic, it's just what we do. This year we wanted to try a new place and my search brought me to Wildwood Market in Fauntleroy. The menu looked really good and it's under 2 miles from our house. Great. Sold. It's an unassuming market slightly below street level that is JAM PACKED with local fare. This is also the perfect spot to build a last minute picnic or charcuterie plate. Okay, back to the sammies. "Out of this world" good! We opted dor the veggie sandwiches this visit - The Wildwood and the Daytripper 2.0. The seeded bread they use is so fresh, and so flavorful, and OMG the pickled onions. They are probably one of the most underrated condiments and they shone bright here! We hope they open for indoor dining soon so we can enjoy one of their many local beers on tap! I live in the area and have ordered here around 10 times, unfortunately the French dip sandwich has gotten progressively worse.. it was nearly inedible this time and I was distinctly surprised that an au jus could actually taste like nothing. I have gotten delivery from here several times, so my review is based on those experiences. I've ordered several different sandwiches and the soup here as well as kid,s meals. They've all been good. I have a particular affinity for reuben sandwiches and have gotten the one here really liked it and that was even after it sat through delivery. I also enjoyed their Dagwood sandwich and actually get the reference. The kids meals are plenty of food for a hungry adult, the burgers and grilled cheese are full sized. The clam chowder is different from what I normally eat, but it was good. The food has always been well packaged and travels well. The food is decently portioned and fairly priced, sandwiches and salads around $8-$10. Great for a casual lunch where you don't want to feel super heavy after eating. I got the chicken salad, which came on mixed greens seasoned with olive oil and other spices. Honestly delicious. The build your own sandwich option is great too. Cute spot for a casual hangout! I came by to meet with a friend earlier today, and the first thing I should mention is that it's a proper market - it's a grocery store that has a small cafe on the side. We placed our coffee orders and chilled at the small tables and chairs set out nearby. I have to say, this was one of the cheapest mochas that I have ever purchased in Seattle - and yet, it was still so delicious. It was chocolatey, warm but not too hot, and still strong! I almost felt like I was just drinking hot chocolate, and I regret not getting a larger size. Overall, I had a really great time! We've bought food to go from them for several years, but the first time we tried eating there was an absolute nightmare. The attitude of the servers soured the whole experience. To start, cell service is sparse in the area so I asked to connect to their wifi, but that wifi didn't reach out to the tables, so I asked if they had a password for one of their other wifi networks. The server's response "I don't know". I was eventually able to order by tethering to a friend's phone. Items from our orders were missing, with pushback from servers until we showed our phone orders we placed using the QR codes at the table. They begrudgingly fixed our order, with a nice side of annoyance/attitude. The family who was with us waited 45 minutes for one of their orders. An order was brought out for "Daniel", which nobody claimed. A member of the family asked if it could be for "Danielle" instead and was answered with a snippy "no, I said Daniel". Their food sat there for 45 minutes and after going back down to ask again, was told it was just coming out (though the boxes were visibly sitting on the counter). They got their reheated food with the same level of respect as our previous server interactions. I would go back for takeout because the food is typically good. But I would hope management would make changes to make the in-house dining experience more pleasant. read more

The employees are wearing masks and there are markings on the floor to encourage social distancing. I went there on a Saturday to order take-out for dinner. I chose the California Ave sandwich (hoagie, turkey, swiss, avocado, mixed greens, tomato, chive mayo, and optional bacon) for $11. My husband got the Roast Beef & Havarti sandwich (white bread, roast beef, havarti, red onion, horseradish aioli, and mustard) for $9. I thought my sandwich tasted ok. The bacon was really good but I prefer softer bread. My husband's sandwich looked and tasted pretty simple though. I might shop here if I lived nearby because it is convenient. They have pantry staples, beer and wine, and desserts. However, I don't think it is worth it to drive here to order food. It is hard to find parking since it is near a busy intersection. They didn't have a large selection of hot food and I think I'd rather get a sandwich from the Thriftway deli because it is cheaper and more customizable. read more

TL; DR - This place has consistently terrible customer service. Spend your money elsewhere. We live up the street and so badly want this to be our neighborhood joint, but simply cannot recommend this place. Each time we've patronized it - over 10 times at least - the customer service has been mediocre at best, non-existent at worst. One of the times I got food poisoning from something off the menu and the next day wrote in to let them know that this occurred (in case they wanted to check their beef, etc.). They dismissed me and said 'We made XX burgers tonight and no one else has called so it's obviously not our issue.' Yesterday, we tried the place again because everything can change and people can change. Maybe we just had a bad experience one time. Nope. The employees acted frustrated that we needed our Topo Chico opened - she was put off because we asked for a bottle opener. Another woman yelled at our dog - who had barked just twice at the arrival of a friend. And lastly, they kicked us off their patio before they even closed, even though we had said we would order food. All that to say, don't give your money to this place. You order inside and pay at the register, then wait outside and they'll bring the food to you. French Dip $11: I missed the memo that hot food came with French Fries, so that was a pleasant surprise. I wish I had known so I could ask for ketchup and horseradish aioli for dipping. The fries were really salty. I think the sandwich was too, unless that was just the salt from the fries. My favorite dip sandwich is getting the Peppercorn Steak sandwich at Quiznos with their au jus, so comparing to that I still like Quiznos better. Rueben $11: I actually don't like when Ruebens are piled sky high with meat, so I liked their meat portioning here. Pros: The sandwiches are high quality - superb even. We have tried several options: flat iron steak, Reuben, industrial, BLT, and the French dip. We have also had their fantastic shoestring fries, and the side salad is incredible. The sandwiches aren't huge, but they are just right to make a meal, and with the high-caliber meat, it is just the right amount of food. Because each sandwich element is decadent, it is almost a luxury or a treat. We enjoy the online system for ordering for pickup. It is well organized and easy to use. We moved close to WildWood Market during COVID, and so it was always a pickup and leave type of situation. It does seem as of March 2022 that the patio is open, and you can take your food out and eat and drink there. Wildwood Market also has a little grocery, so you can grab all sorts of treats and drinks to take the food then go to a park or on the ferry. Cons: The staff I have interacted with were not great. I would say a couple of times they seemed a bit annoyed with me. I am unsure what was wrong with ordering online, but they did not appreciate the business. It could have been COVID frustration.
