Meatball sandwich with a side salad and waffle fries. Top pictured sandwich is the tofu bahn mi!

Whoa! This place is amazing! The service is so friendly and the atmosphere is very comfortable and cozy! Food was a 10/10!!! Everything had so much flavor! Will be coming back for sure!

Went to Lady Jaye right when it opened, staff were super friendly. There's a lot of table seating in bar seating. You don't have to bust your table, it's table service. There's also a happy hour menu. Food came out very quickly. I ordered a double Wagyu smash burger. It was pretty tasty. I also ordered waffle fries that really good with their ranch. Would totally come back.

Happy Hour Chopped Cheese, Side Caesar Salad, Shoestring Fries

Chill vibes, comforting food, forward and friendly service. I had the shrimp po' boy, my friend and I shared fries, a Caesar salad, and she had the chopped cheese. All was good! The po' boy would be even better will an aioli or a chipotle mayo something to balance the flavor and texture of the fried shrimp and bread. So if you order one get a little sauce on the side if that's your vibe!

There's a new sandwich menu here with a killer smash burger! Definitely worth driving out to West Seattle for. Also loved the hot Italian beef dip! And don't skip out on the fries! Food & service here is always great!

Lady Jayne turned out to be a great find. Since the place was packed, we opted for seats at the bar--a decision that paid off immediately thanks to the warm and welcoming bartender. A strong start to the experience! Now, let's talk about the popcorn. **The BEST popcorn I've ever had.** I couldn't stop raving about it, and the bartender rewarded my enthusiasm with a second helping. Honestly, I'd go back just for that. He even let us in on how they make it, so I might have to attempt a recreation at home. There were four of us, which meant plenty of dishes to sample. The crowd favorite? The bologna sandwich (sadly, no picture). **My personal winner, though, was the short rib sandwich.** Every bite was packed with rich flavors, the perfect balance of cheese and sauce--it was everything a great sandwich should be. I'm still thinking about it. The sides delivered across the board, with the **dill fries** being a particular standout. I love dill, so that extra touch was a welcome surprise. The only letdown was the prawn sandwich. While the prawns themselves were flavorful, the sandwich itself lacked moisture--**dry, no sauce, just missing something.** To round things out, they also have a back patio, which I imagine would be a great spot when the weather cooperates.

This is one of the better atmospheres in West Seattle. We decided to eat here on the patio which was absolutely beautiful on a cool spring night. Murals on the walls and decor are very nice. We ordered the bulgogi sandwich, shrimp po boy, dill fries, burnt end beans, and shishito peppers. The bulgogi sandwich was very good with a lot of contrasting textures and flavor. My only complaint is that it was extremely oily, other than that, it was delicious! The sides were decent at best. Dill fries were pretty underwhelming, the shishito peppers needed salt or some kind of seasoning, but the beans were actually perfect in flavor and texture. Moving on to the shrimp po boy, this was good in texture and the shrimp was very well coated in batter. They were crispy and hot when the sandwich arrived. The only thing that was missing from this was spice. Most po boy's I've had have some short of hot sauce. When I asked for hot sauce I was offer Tapatio which is usually fine but cmon this sandwich needed Tabasco or Louisiana Hot Sauce. The service was okay, we didn't get refills on any drink. Our server was hardly around to check on us or other tables around us which was a bummer. Also not very friendly to us or others.

Maybe I hyped up Lady Jaye too much in my head, but Saturday dinner here fell flat. My partner ordered the "Meat and Three" with the special of the day, the Wagyu beef tacos. They were nothing spectacular, especially for the $32 price we paid for the combo. We also ordered the smoked pork New York à la carte, which was the better entree option for us. The mustard sauce for dipping was delicious. The sides were decent, I'm not sure we got the correct salad with our order, because the "jalapeño kale Caesar" was nothing like it was described. The Brussels sprouts were the standout, and the fries were tasty. Honestly, the free popcorn appetizer was a hit compared to the rest of the food. The restaurant had ample outdoor seating, and we had our own outdoor heater, which we thoroughly enjoyed. I wanted to love this spot, but it missed the mark for me.

Steak wagyu cheeseburger

The Smoked steak Wagyu cheeseburger is worth every penny and the baked beans are exceptionally tasty. The service is calm and friendly this place is a chill dim vibe. If you're in the west Seattle area and want some good BBQ give lady Jay a try. The Smoked steak Wagyu cheeseburger was a Thursday special the day I went.

Friday night special: smoked prime rib

Lady Jaye was a bustling place at 4:30pm on a Friday night. No seats were available indoors or at the bar, so we were seated in the outside patio with an overhead space heater. The staff was attentive even though we were the only customers outside and allowed us to move inside as soon as a table he came available. Happy hour is until 5pm which we utilized by getting $3 off our side dishes. The Smokey prime rib has a rich smokey flavor on the crust. The inside could have used some salt or a little bit of flavoring. They provided horseradish, but I personally don't love on my meats. The side dishes were solid portions and tasty. We got smoked fries, fried brussels sprouts and apple salad. Come early if you want a seat without a wait!

Soft serve with coconut and cookies

Friends and I were in the area for the West Seattle summer fest, so stopped by for dessert and drinks. Soft serve was great, but expresso martini was waaaaaay too strong for me. Love the patio seating, but what happened to the outdoor heaters? It got chilly at night. Though, I do love the lights, the patio arrangement, and the outdoor wall art. If they offered blankets and bring back the outdoor heat lamps, that might bring me back to hang outdoors. We did think about sitting indoors, but it was packed b/c of the festival, so sitting indoors wasn't an option that night.

Spent some time at the West Seattle Farmers Market, Easy Street Records, and A la Mode just to make sure I was able to place a takeout order right as Lady Jaye opened at 2pm last Sunday (6/9/24). Ever see the drool worthy food photos for Lady Jaye via Yelp or IG?...exactly! Lady Jaye had been bookmarked forever. Heck, I've been to Little Jaye South already before this first visit to Lady Jaye. I specifically wanted to try their Sunday special, the smoked Delmonico Cheesesteak with housemade cheese whiz, tallow onions, and horseradish mayo encased in a bun and comes with three sides ($30.99). Their website makes online ordering and payment easy peasy via Toast. I wandered over within the 30 minute wait time and was able to sit at their bar counter. Full indoor bar with welcoming staff, plentiful seating, and lots of areas of interest decor wise. Most of the folks were seated in the patio area due to the warm afternoon sunshine. I also caught a glance of the meat shop refrigerated case and some of the bakeshop pop up items too. I appreciated the chilled water from the bartender while I awaited my takeout order. With the signature cheesesteak, I selected as the three sides: potato salad for me, Rub #19 fries for The Homie, and Kale Caesar for me to eat the next day. Once I was handed the goods, definitely I hightailed it across the West Seattle Freeway to 99N via the toll tunnel and was back home in Shoreline in good time. It sure was worth the wait and made for a tasty birthday meal shared with The Homie. Huge cheesesteak and generous sides! I can see why Lady Jaye is very popular and successful in West Seattle (plus Little Jaye South in South Park)...tasty, generous food made with quality, pleasing ingredients! 4 stars for this takeout order with one extra star for the kind, welcoming staff!

The Special of the day
Madeline D.

Lady Jaye is a classic dinner spot. If there's just two of you I recommend getting the meat +3 sides deal, you get a lot of food for a very good price! I always recommend checking out their special of the day, I have gotten it every time I've been in! Overall, I love coming here, and the people are very friendly!

We have one "Meat N Three" option and that's our Tofu Chili, but many of our "sides" are vegan.

Do you still have soft serve?

Is your patio pup friendly?

Absolutely! We actually prefer it when people bring their pups. Just know that there may be a few on the patio already!

The food was delicious and the drinks were fantastic and felt very grown and elevated. The server, bartender, everything, Cory I think, was incredibly kind and somehow memorized our long list of orders without missing a beat. I will say it took a while to get our snacks and drinks, but it was really busy and the live band was so good that we didn't mind at all. The space has gorgeous, moody lighting, and the music is at the perfect level where you can still have a casual conversation. But once a song ends, you might want to wrap it up just in case. I will definitely be coming back here again.

The speakeasy-style entrance sets the tone right away--very prohibition-era vibes, a little mysterious, and definitely part of the charm. It's the kind of place you half expect to need a password to get into. Once inside, the ambiance really delivers. Dim lighting, cozy atmosphere, and a menu that leans into that classic cocktail culture without feeling overdone. The drinks are genuinely solid--well-crafted, balanced, and surprisingly fairly priced for the quality. What really makes this spot stand out, though, is the live jazz. If you can swing a visit on a Sunday or Monday night, do it. The music adds so much character to the space and turns a casual night out into something memorable and a little transportive. Service was a bit slow during our visit, but honestly, it made sense--there were only two people running the entire place. Even with that, they stayed friendly and composed, which says a lot. It didn't take away from the experience, just something to be aware of if you're in a rush. Overall, The Alley is a gem--great vibes, great music, and great cocktails. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for something a little different in West Seattle.

The pasta was amazingly tender, cooked to perfection. There was a lot of flavor and depth in each bite, more of a deliciously earthy mac and cheese as opposed to maybe a velveety smooth creamy type. The Jalapeño poppers were amazing. I've always associated poppers with a crusted fried topping but these were bold, going in a different direction. The jalapeños were fresh and soft to the bite, easy to cut with the side of a fork, loaded with components such as cashew cheddar, crema, avocado sauce, sweet pickled jalapeños, pico and cabbage slaw - all coming together perfectly in each bite (i'm utilizing their menu description) For the main dish, Sandi ordered the "Smokey Barbecue" which came with a complimentary side of chips and I ordered the Portobello French Dip and upgraded my side to a Side Salad for an extra $4. Each dish, every bite was delicious, even something as simple as a side salad was elevated with their Ginger Tahini dresing. Dipping the Portobello Sandwich into the Dip was just .. magical. We also both opted for the same drink, South Park Mule. The drink was legit, in addition to tasting great, I actually had a buzz as well .. indicating to me they didn't skimp on the adult juice Their food is amazing across the board and there's so much more to go back and try! These managed to be both filling and light. Absolute win. I ordered an ABV free drink, True North. This was one of my favorite drinks I have ever had.
