Walked in with a reservation. Host placed us right next to the hallway by an open door. Asked to move to one of the open tables not near the cold breeze as I had kids with me. Host said no and walked off. Took about 20 minutes just to order drinks. Those took another ten minutes to arrive. It wasn't very busy but the people at the bar were extremely loud and most likely drunk. Food finally got ordered and arrived. My chicken sandwich was wrong and didn't come with any sides. The waitress was annoyed when we asked for a refill and said those aren't free and took ten minutes to return with another. Table next to us had to stand up to finally get their bill. Food was rather poor and the service was really bad. If your want to eat somewhere that's not really loud I'd pass on Lady Jaye. Don't think I'll return ever.. read more

I was so excited to try the smash burger. I've heard great things. Today I tried one. Came home, plated it. A few things things. The mayo was fighting with the cheese for main character. The top pattie was pink. Im not a fan of pink burgers. I'm not pregnant but if you are, better specify well-done. The burger didn't really have flavor. I ended up adding my own mustard and a little ketchup to bring some flavor. The patties could use a few sprinkles of seasoning. The few pickles didn't help. Not sure what kind of cheese they use, a sharp cheddar would have been better. I compared it to a Dick's Deluxe and the Deluxe would win hands down and is $10 less!! This was not worth $15. I don't mind paying for good food but this was disappointing. I have high expectations from a smoke house. Jack's BBQ is a smoke house and their burgers are full of flavor and not overhyped. I highly recommend they season the patties, easy on that mayo, add a dab of mustard to bring out the cheese...and cook well-done. This is my personal assessment. Lady Jayne turned out to be a great find. Since the place was packed, we opted for seats at the bar--a decision that paid off immediately thanks to the warm and welcoming bartender. A strong start to the experience! Now, let's talk about the popcorn. **The BEST popcorn I've ever had.** I couldn't stop raving about it, and the bartender rewarded my enthusiasm with a second helping. Honestly, I'd go back just for that. He even let us in on how they make it, so I might have to attempt a recreation at home. There were four of us, which meant plenty of dishes to sample. The crowd favorite? The bologna sandwich (sadly, no picture). **My personal winner, though, was the short rib sandwich.** Every bite was packed with rich flavors, the perfect balance of cheese and sauce--it was everything a great sandwich should be. This is one of the better atmospheres in West Seattle. We decided to eat here on the patio which was absolutely beautiful on a cool spring night. Murals on the walls and decor are very nice. We ordered the bulgogi sandwich, shrimp po boy, dill fries, burnt end beans, and shishito peppers. The bulgogi sandwich was very good with a lot of contrasting textures and flavor. My only complaint is that it was extremely oily, other than that, it was delicious! The sides were decent at best. Dill fries were pretty underwhelming, the shishito peppers needed salt or some kind of seasoning, but the beans were actually perfect in flavor and texture. Moving on to the shrimp po boy, this was good in texture and the shrimp was very well coated in batter. They were crispy and hot when the sandwich arrived. The only thing that was missing from this was spice. Most po boy's I've had have some short of hot sauce. When I asked for hot sauce I was offer Tapatio which is usually fine but cmon this sandwich needed Tabasco or Louisiana Hot Sauce. The service was okay, we didn't get refills on any drink. Maybe I hyped up Lady Jaye too much in my head, but Saturday dinner here fell flat. My partner ordered the "Meat and Three" with the special of the day, the Wagyu beef tacos. They were nothing spectacular, especially for the $32 price we paid for the combo. We also ordered the smoked pork New York à la carte, which was the better entree option for us. The mustard sauce for dipping was delicious. The sides were decent, I'm not sure we got the correct salad with our order, because the "jalapeño kale Caesar" was nothing like it was described. Lady Jaye was a bustling place at 4:30pm on a Friday night. No seats were available indoors or at the bar, so we were seated in the outside patio with an overhead space heater. The staff was attentive even though we were the only customers outside and allowed us to move inside as soon as a table he came available. Happy hour is until 5pm which we utilized by getting $3 off our side dishes. The Smokey prime rib has a rich smokey flavor on the crust. The inside could have used some salt or a little bit of flavoring. They provided horseradish, but I personally don't love on my meats. The side dishes were solid portions and tasty. Spent some time at the West Seattle Farmers Market, Easy Street Records, and A la Mode just to make sure I was able to place a takeout order right as Lady Jaye opened at 2pm last Sunday (6/9/24). Ever see the drool worthy food photos for Lady Jaye via Yelp or IG?...exactly! Lady Jaye had been bookmarked forever. Heck, I've been to Little Jaye South already before this first visit to Lady Jaye. I specifically wanted to try their Sunday special, the smoked Delmonico Cheesesteak with housemade cheese whiz, tallow onions, and horseradish mayo encased in a bun and comes with three sides ($30.99). Their website makes online ordering and payment easy peasy via Toast. I wandered over within the 30 minute wait time and was able to sit at their bar counter. Full indoor bar with welcoming staff, plentiful seating, and lots of areas of interest decor wise. Most of the folks were seated in the patio area due to the warm afternoon sunshine. I also caught a glance of the meat shop refrigerated case and some of the bakeshop pop up items too. I appreciated the chilled water from the bartender while I awaited my takeout order. With the signature cheesesteak, I selected as the three sides: potato salad for me, Rub #19 fries for The Homie, and Kale Caesar for me to eat the next day. Once I was handed the goods, definitely I hightailed it across the West Seattle Freeway to 99N via the toll tunnel and was back home in Shoreline in good time. It sure was worth the wait and made for a tasty birthday meal shared with The Homie. Huge cheesesteak and generous sides! Went here to try the new menu and it is amazing! Arguably better than the previous menu which I loved. The Italian beef sandwich was one of the best things I've eaten in my entire life. My son and I devoured ours and couldn't put it down. It's a little messy but in a good way. Meatball sandwich and smash burger were crowd pleasers as well. And the fries are delicious. I'm going to be honest and say this is the mid-est BBQ I've been to in a long time. Service was fine and the place is cute. Easy paid parking lot behind or street parking available. But the food, eh. We pretty much got everything - the pork, the cheesesteak special, the smoked tofu bahn mi, the bulgogi patty melt, and the cornmeal shrimp. Do not get the bulgogi melt. Single most salty thing anyone has ever eaten. Also yes we ordered it, but $31 for a 12inch cheesesteak is a crime. A fantastic cheesesteak in Philly is only $12 and Tat's deli in Seattle is like $18. Everything else was average and can be eaten just not great. The only side that was pretty good was the apple salad. Fries and potato salad - saltyyy. Drinks were good, especially the strawberry manilow. No regrets cause that's part of trying out new places, but won't be back. read more

This place is absolutely legit, and one of the best places to purchase meat (including wagyu and rare cuts/distinct regional sourcing) and enjoy burgers/meat dishes. I subscribe to their weekly newsletter and it's always a pleasure to read, and I've learned so much about the craft of sourcing and quality of meat through it. Took my boyfriend here for Valentine's Day. Forgot to reserve. Inside was super busy, but they had outside seating. It was cold and wet outside, but honestly they had a good space heater for outdoor seating and I could actually hold a conversation with my BF there so it really worked out in the end! A little pricey but if you go between 2-3 pm there 50% happy hour on cookies etc.. will make you cry in delight. My husband and I had a wonderful dining experience at Lady Jaye on a chilly Friday night. Although we were surprised to find that most of the patio tables were reserved when we arrived at 5:30pm, we were able to snag a spot at the cozy fire pit table. The ambiance on the patio was as warm as it could be even though it was a bit windy and chilly, and we really appreciated that the patio is dog-friendly, which allowed us to bring our girls along. We started off with some complimentary truffle popcorn, which was fresh popped and tasty. For drinks, I tried the Guns and Rosemary cocktail, which was perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. Jason opted for an Old Fashioned before also switching to the Guns and Rosemary. For our entrees, Jason tried the smoked filet mignon special, which came with a house black stallion rub, a buttermilk biscuit, and a choice of sides. He chose the Brussels sprouts and potato salad, both of which were excellent (I couldn't keep my hands off his food! lol). The filet had a wonderful smoky flavor, and the rub had a nice hint of horseradish. I decided on the cornmeal-Old Bay crusted fried white prawns with tartar sauce, which were absolutely delicious. The tartar sauce paired perfectly with the crispy cornmeal and Old Bay coating on the prawns. The service at Lady Jaye is always attentive, and you can tell that the staff genuinely enjoys working there and believes in what they're putting out there. Their passion for the food and cocktails really shines through in the quality and consistency of their offerings. Our dogs had a great time too, enjoying the attention from the friendly staff and greeting other diners on the patio. Being able to bring our dogs along for a casual dinner is important to us, and we're so glad that Lady Jaye welcomes them on the patio. Overall, we had an amazing time dining on the patio at Lady Jaye. The food, drinks, service, ambiance, and dog-friendly atmosphere were all stellar, and we can't wait to come back and try more of their rotating specials. I really wanted to like this place. I can tell they make their food with a lot of passion and love. The restaurant has a super cool ambiance and I love all the spirits they had displayed at the bar (they have an insane collection). The service was amazing and our server was incredibly nice and welcoming. However the food is where things took a turn for the worse. The sides however, were absolutely delicious. We got the potato salad and apple/cheese salad which were both quite tasty. The bulgogi melt burger, on the other hand was probably one of worst burger I've ever had unfortunately. I think they accidentally spilled like an entire shaker of salt into the meat, with the combo of sugar, it was just not a good balance of flavor at all. I know what a bulgogi burger should taste like (Burger Seoul in Tacoma has a delicious one) and this one fails to meet the mark. Be sure to bring your appetite! Seriously, I have never been served a larger meal than the one I had here. Three of us came for a late lunch (and early dinner) around 3:30P. There were only a couple other customers at the time, but it started getting busier around happy hour. We opted for patio seating to enjoy the Seattle sun and got a perfectly shaded table in the corner. Their outdoor area is so nice; there are even heat lamps and a fire pit for colder days. To start off, we each ordered a cocktail from their creative selection of drinks. I chose the BANG MANGO ($13), thinking it would be fruity, but it was far from that. It was a concoction of green chile vodka, Licor 43, mango shrub, lime, cilantro and Peychaud's bitters. The green chile vodka was pretty potent and the cilantro flavor added quite the bite. This unique drink was sharp (not sweet) and I have never tasted anything like it. Quick tip: Mango bush is not reminiscent of the fruit itself. Their menu is a "Meat N' Three'' where you select a main entrée and three sides for $27.99. There's a special featured entrée everyday, in addition to their standard options. Of course I went with their Sunday special! SMOKED DELMONICO CHEESESTEAK (entrée): This was huge! Strips of 21 day-aged beef, grilled onions, horseradish mayo and house-made cheese whiz were securely housed in a soft Sodo roll. The beef was tender but I didn't taste any smokiness as the name implies. It also had more gristle and fat than I would have liked, but I suppose that is better than the meat being dry. The sandwich was fine, but it wasn't really the succulent barbeque that I expected. All three sides were delicious and I would 100% order them again! 1. SHOESTRING FRIES: A must! They were thin, firm and flavored with dill and a hint of vinegar. It came with a cup of dill tartar sauce for dipping which made them even more delectable. Who knew tartar sauce and fries made for such a tasty pairing? 2. FRIED BRUSSELS SPROUTS: These were nicely browned and I loved all the leaves that were charred to a crisp. They were coated in a sweet hoisin BBQ sauce - so good! 3. SMOKED JALAPENO KALE CAESAR: This was quite a filling side salad tossed in creamy dressing and topped with a generous amount of parmesan. The heat from the jalapeno was fairly faint, so don't expect a tingly spice. Looking around, most tables shared a single meal between two people and now I know why! The servings are so humongous that each of us was already getting full after just half of our sandwiches. Service was pretty attentive. Our drinks arrived promptly with our food shortly after. The waitstaff checked back with us at least three times and kept our water canter filled, so we felt well taken care of. Came here after seeing a video from Mike Chen. Had to try the beef rib and we were lucky enough the snatch the very last one of the day! The beef rib was huge and came with 3 delicious, refreshing sides that go perfectly with the fatty meat. I wish all BBQ joints would serve these sides instead of the typical sides. OMG. What have I discovered? The meat at Lady Jaye is what they're known for and it will leave you speechless because you will be 1) eating and 2) swooning. I had no idea how amazing this place is until we came here for happy hour and had ourselves a late lunch that was holy smokes, delicious. I don't travel to West Seattle ever. I go to Arizona more than I go to West Seattle. Seriously. Yes, I know it's still part of Seattle; hence, the name of this Yelp list which this restaurant is now bookmarked under. But I don't like driving south and then across a bridge and yeah, West Seattle is a trek, especially when I don't want to deal with traffic. BUT... We visited West Seattle because we were seeing a show here; thus, we were forced to travel westward. After the show, we needed sustenance and saw that Lady Jaye had a happy hour, so decided to check it out. Note that it literally is an hour. Not two hours, not a minute after. One hour, from 4 to 5pm. Happy hour happens out on the back patio, which was a nice space. There were heated lamps and one table had a fire pit in the center. Plus, it's dog-friendly. It's also where you can see the grill where all the treasured meats are made. Since we visited on a Sunday, the Sunday special was a 21-day aged smoked delmonico cheesesteak sandwich, which is what my partner ordered. I went with the wagyu chopped cheese sandwich, which is only offered on happy hour and for our sides that were only three bucks on happy hour, we had the watermelon and feta salad and the kale and jalapeno salad with a plum moscow mule. Our food didn't take too long to get and the meaty sandwiches were perfection. I still can't decide which was better, but I did love my wagyu chopped cheese sandwich, with the most tender and juicy of chopped beef that sunk into my teeth at every bite, with a melted cheese throughout the chopped beef that only heightened things to a new level. GET THIS ON HAPPY HOUR. EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT HUNGRY, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, GET THIS SANDWICH. My partner's delmonico cheesesteak sandwich was also very, very good, with the tender beef and housemade, drizzled, saucy cheese on a slightly toasted hoagie. So yes, if you are here on a Sunday then you also need to feast on this Sunday special. Hell, whatever meats they have, get it. My goal is to visit on a Thursday when they feature the half-pound wagyu burger, which who knows when that will be. But a girl can dream and drool.
