Great place!!! The food was very tasty and the service was great! Definitely get the Brussels sprouts-some of the best I've had!! The vibe is nice with good night time lighting. Great for dates, friends, and families (although I wouldn't bring young kids here).

Love Jaks and their happy hour. Still miss the HH burger on the menu though. Staff super friendly and very attentive. For some of the dishes (like calamari or arachini, I personally like be some more acidity, like lemon or something extra. Otherwise, good go-to in West Seattle. The new location is really nice and more modern. Wish the tv's in the bar played more sound or cc captions so we know what's happening during a sports game.

Tony was our server. The good was delicious. Crab cakes were tender and not over breaded. My beef Wellington was delicious. The tenderloin trio was good! Tony brought out bread, which was nice and then he gave us a crème brûlée with strawberries and that was absolutely superb! Thank you for a lovely evening! So glad we got to celebrate our 41st anniversary with you!!

We've been loyal Jak's Grill customers for years, so it's tough to write this review. Some of our favorites have always been the crab cakes, steak bites with gorgonzola, and the bourbon pork chop. Unfortunately, our latest visit was a letdown. The crab cakes came with a new sauce that didn't complement them the way the old preparation did. Bread, which used to be complimentary, is now $8, and meals no longer come with seasonal vegetables - only a single side with noticeably smaller portions (my mashed potatoes looked like two spoonfuls). The biggest issue was my husband's pork chop. It arrived sliced, with multiple pieces visibly raw in the middle. Raw pork is a serious health hazard, and while the plate was taken back to the kitchen, it was simply overcooked and returned without a proper apology or adjustment on the bill. A dessert was offered instead, which missed the point entirely. Our server was polite and did his best, but overall, the experience fell far short of the Jak's we used to love. Based on what I've read, we're not the only ones noticing these changes. It feels like the restaurant is trying to "fix" what wasn't broken, and quality has suffered. We'll think twice before returning unless we hear things have improved.

It was my first time visiting the new location. I live on the east side, but it was my cousin's birthday and I know it's his favorite one. It was cool to see the new set up. Service was amazing as usual! Great new vibe and easy to park. Love to see see cowboy style option on the menu as well as the UFO.. Used to have to be in the no about the secret menu. They cook it to perfection. I did Pittsburgh style Was rare to medium rare. Highly recommend and looking forward to be back again soon with the new outdoor seating.

Nice new location, modern and classy. Service was good. Steaks were great, no one in my group was upset, all loved their entrees. The only negative was the bread, it was the tougher variant, would have preferred something lighter and fluffier. Otherwise well worth it; good steak place readily close by for us West Seattle types.

Finally got to try the new location! It's modern, spacious, and beautiful. The menu often changes so I love the fact that I get to try new items every time we visit. The linguine was amazing, definitely recommend! A bit sad they no longer serve complimentary bread and all steak orders no longer come with a side salad. Service is always great, they were able to squeeze us in for a walk in on a Friday night. Will try sitting at the new bar next time! Thanks, Jak's for another amazing dining experience!

Food poisoning after eating the burger

Overpriced and really inconsistent quality/service The food is really inconsistent - I once got a great steak, so the next time I ordered the same thing as did my dining parter, both of our steaks were excessively bloody and raw (we both got food poisoning). Another time I got the mushroom ravioli and it was delicious, so I ordered it the next time and it was rubbery and different mushrooms than advertised on the menu. I got a burger once and got food poisoning again (when I opened the box with the leftovers and looked inside the burger the meat was pink and raw). Recently I ordered the beef wellington and it was really underwhelming (the meat was really chewy and stringy, mushroom layer was practically non-existent, the side of mashed potatoes was lucky if it was 3 mouthfuls, and also ordered a side of bread and the first piece was so hard and stale we couldn't even bite into it - nearly chipped a tooth). Since they have moved, their prices have gone up and their portions have gone down. Also their service in their new location is quite slow in inattentive (we waited over an hour once after ordering for our food) and multiple times have had to flag down servers after exceptionally long absences in order to get drinks, our bill, etc. They claim to offer a loyalty program, but in all the times I have been there, I have only been able to successfully add the points twice to my loyalty account - servers either say they don't know about it, or they claim to have added the bill but it never appears on their rewards account (ironically their app also says you can scan missed receipts into the app, but their receipts have to barcode or QR code to scan). I have even emailed their management to inquire, but I received no response.

The new location is wonderful! Tables are spacious, atmosphere is perfect. 10/10. We sat at the bar and had the best Friday night. Food and service was great!

Went out here for a family members birthday party and would say it was a nice meal. The atmosphere is lively and the place itself goes back a lot further than you would assume from the street. Front area bar has some tv's and games on and the back is a little more sectioned off with large booths and tables. Food was pretty good, not mind blowing but solid. Wound up getting the steak skewer with cheese sauce which could have been a little warmer but was overall tasty. Sides were good as well. My mom enjoyed her steak and it was rare to her liking which can be tough to find. Definitely a solid place for steak in the west Seattle area but the maybe not quite as elevated of an interior as you'd get from a classic statehouse. Good place to take family or have a group.

Great happy hour! We went there on a Friday night for their happy hour at the bar area. They have happy hour food and drinks Mon thru Friday 4pm-6pm. We arrived at 5:15pm and it was already quite busy. Their drinks and food were both solid and tasty. We ordered one salad to share, and they were very nice and split it into two plates for us. Their happy hour burger was traditional and served warm. The service was friendly, attentive, and efficient.

After our first visit here, we knew we would be back. Mondays are prime rib days and always a great way to start a week. The restaurant has a romantic cozy feeling with dimmed lights. Street parking is available with paid lots around the corner. The porterhouse for 2 is a great deal and enough to get you full. Steak was cooked to perfection and flavorful. Service is always top notch. The blue cheese topping they offer for the steaks is out of this world. Don't forget the desserts. Crème brûlée is our favorite here

Happy Hour is 4-6 seven days a week, starting in September 2025. I miss the hamburger, which was sadly taken off. They didn't offer HH when they moved to their new location. Get there early as there were 16 people waiting outside at 3:56 p.m.

The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!

After ordering the oyster platter arrived and it was so fresh, chilled and tasty. We quickly devoured it. Moving into dinner, some got the crab rolls, but I settled for the new menu item: halibut. The delightfully savory halibut was moist and served with a nice side of potato and was as perfect as one can make a halibut dish. I would eat this again in a heartbeat. The mains were awesome, our 10oz fillets were thick and juicy with great peppercorn crust (ask, we didn't see it on the menu) and rich sauces. The sea bass was incredibly moist and flavorful to the point my no-fish son stole seconds. The lamb was arranged beautifully and cooked perfectly. We had a few not-perfect points but not big enough to detract. My son wasn't a fan of the lamb sauce, our steaks were a bit overdone for medium-rare. Still delicious. The creamed corn and augratin potatoes...omg...open a restaurant just for these. They were both creamy, impossibly flavorful, and still stand out from similar dishes you find elsewhere without straying from their core identity. Just be careful, we certainly overate and all the cream and butter/oil didn't help us on that side. I can't say much about the caviar. The ones who wanted it loved it but weren't raving. They liked the onion dip and chips over a standard cream and bread or cracker. Me...I ate a ton of the chips with onion dip only and absolutely loved it. Don't think I'd pay $40 for chips and dip but that's just more caviar for the rest of the table! Caesar was good, but hard to beat a Howie tableside. Grapefruit soda was worth it, very refreshing and strong natural grapefruit flavor. Woth a note, our server was excellent and worked with us to explain everything well, our waters were never less than half full and we're bottomless pits when it comes to water.

In Seattle, I know that there's a 10% sales tax so I would be expecting to pay about $130 after tax and tip. under this system, I order my food, the subtotal is $100, I see that I'm being charged a service charge at 21% on $110 which means I'm paying $133.00 and based on the wording of the menu, my server is getting screwed because the business is keeping that money. also, it is pretty fucked up to charge 21% on the after tax amount. Service charges and tip should be on the pre-tax amount, nobody at Seattle City Hall helped the service staff to bus dishes, or to deliver my food. So now I feel like I need to add another $20 which leaves me with $20 less and a negative final experience at the restaurant. I would much rather the menu price reflect the $119.75 pre-tax, which is still $133 with tax before tip. I don't mind spending $150 on food, when I think that's what I was going to be spending. I do mind spending that when the math seems sketchy. I don't like feeling taken advantage of, which is what the policy and the wording of the policy left me feeling at the end of the night. I suggested to the owner is it to just raise your prices to reflect your fixed costs and either get rid of tipping entirely or get rid of the service charge.
