This Goblin loves good value at a family friendly establishment, especially after a long afternoon of total warfare on the countryside. There is something about coming here on a weekday morning that makes you feel like everything will work out. The menu is inventive, and they offer a "regional" cuisine that changes every few months. In my experience, this makes it fun to come back and see what's changed. They change the art as well to reflect each new region. Little things like this make Endolyne feel like more than just another diner going through the motions. The servers here lean towards excellent service. For example, I had my coffee refilled three times. I had a water ready only a moment after sitting down. They get pretty busy on the weekends, so make sure you don't get it in your head that you can just show up at 11:30 am unannounced on a Sunday and be instantly seated. The crispy potatoes are great, the cathead biscuits are solid, and the proteins always satisfy. I've eaten here over 20 times, and had only 1 dish I didn't really care for. If you are looking for a solid diner with cozy vibes, this is it. Remember folks, tasty "diner" food. Go in with that expectation, and you'll have a great time. Great spot with fresh menus and staple favorites. Right now there is a lot of Mexican dishes along with their staples. We love coming here for brunch and for lunch and dinner. Favorite: Biscuits and gravy Mole- one of the best we have had in Washington - the mole sauce is cooked into the chicken really well. Rich but not overpowering. Mac and cheese. So creamy and using the radiatori pasta really helps to soak up all the cheese. Love their Vera Cruz salad- really well executed, I often just have that for my main course. Endolyne Joe's was the perfect spot for a quiet breakfast on a Tuesday. We were seated quickly and there were several open tables likely due to it being a weekday. The oatmeal is the best I've ever had at a restaurant, perfect level of sweetness and the streusel/crumble on top added some more texture. Also probably the best biscuits and gravy I've had in a while, lots of flavor and a HUGE portion size. Came here for a brunch date. Was super lucky that there were parking spots open in the very small parking lot. I love the artwork everywhere. The greeter and our server were very friendly and attentive. I got the Boca del Rio Benedict and my date got the Ham-o-rama. My Benedict was delicious. I love the sope instead of a muffin. It was well seasoned and well cooked. I also appreciated that it came with a salad to cut through the richness of the rest of the dish. The Ham-o-rama came with a giant biscuit! Veracruz menu - Coatepee Chili Relleno is unlike any Chili Relleno I've had before. Plumply full of cheeses and veggies. Super crispy crust. Typical Ameri-Mexi Chili Relleno more often than not have mouth feel of a kitchen sink sponge, with its signature mussy scrambled egg battered crust. We drive by this place all the time and it's impossible not to be intrigued by its historic location and charming name. It's clearly very popular every time we pass by. We finally had some time to visit during a recent staycation. We went for brunch on a weekday. The restaurant was full but not packed and we were seated quickly. Staff was charming and friendly. There is a lot of Chicago-related memorabilia and information *such as the entire front page of the menu being a poem about Chicago. We tried the French toast and another traditional breakfast offering. The seasoned breakfast potatoes were especially delicious. My only suggestion is if it's cold outside perhaps request not to sit too close to the front door! P.S. Came here for lunch. The ambiance was great and the theme was Chicago. The service was great and although she had lots of tables, she always came over to check on us. I had the migas. The egg scramble was delicious and came with a balance of eggs, onions, and peppers. It came with crispy flour tortillas and a side of pico. The pico was a great way to cut the richness of the scramble and the tortilla was a great vehicle to scoop it all up. This Resturant has an amazing breakfast (Blunch) selection and I am always impressed by what I order. Usually I order one of the top three items on their menu. The Sopas have been my favorite so far/recently. Wow! The staff and bartenders especially are always very friendly and the host is quick to get you checked in. Aside from this, the specials that rotate based on theme are inventive and, while not all are made for exactly my palette, a lot of them are really great. This place really went downhill. I spent $43 last night for a glass of wine, salad, and what used to be a good chicken dinner. The bone in chicken has been replaced by circular chicken tenders about the size of a hockey puck. Skimp on your customer and your customers skimp on you. It was good it was different. So I went because of my husband saying to me if I wanted to try out a new breakfast place I said sure. Parking is good if you go early. But the car next to us encroached in to the handicap space but be parked in the spot anyway (Drivers share parking spaces and the roads huh?) We both ordered the grand slam, I ordered OJ with my order, and yes portions are large so go very hungry folks. We ate and left and didn't get a change to read any of the wall notices from Chicago but this restaurant is definitely in a prime location. But they're very conveniently located for me so I gave them another shot. Very glad I did. Warm, light, sweet, super fluffy with the slightest crunchy edges. Loved their maple syrup too. The biscuit and gravy was fluffy and really good depth flavor in the gravy. The potatoes were yummy too but undercooked. Since they're cooked whole, it was still slight hard in the middle and lacked seasoning. My friends rave about their salads and many are still enjoying breakfast at lunchtime. The Staff are amazing, the best part of the whole deal!!! Scotty, the bartender, is the one who knows your name and drink after one visit!!. Robert is always super accomodating to our big unwieldy lunchtime group, helping us haul in extra chairs to go with all the oat milk lattes. It doesn't seem like they do that anymore. I walked in for breakfast on this given day and ordered the hamorama scramble. It's always delicious. This is a tale of what was and how no longer is. Endolyne Joes was once a stellar gem of a restaurant. But as of today, it has truly fallen on hard times. Upon arrival was curtly told 20min wait - no problem. After 55min I went up to the staff member at the door and was told the wait would be another 30min. I looked around and they were indeed busy but seemed understaffed. No problem as I like my EJ. Upon sitting down, service was curt and slow. The wait staff were in a surely mood and it was passed into the tables they served. I chatted with other patrons which also felt the same way. Drinks (ice tea and soda) arrived nearly 15min later - yes I timed. Food was eh' at best. Warm, not hot chicken and salad was like warm. Truly disappointed. I gave it 2 stars and not 1 because the ice was cold. read more
