Great place! I've frequently visited the Westy in Roosevelt district of Seattle. Today was my first time at the Westy in West Seattle. All was good except for the soup. It was supposed to be Kale and white bean soup but I am 100% sure they brought out cheese broccoli soup. When I asked about what it was, and after my wife confirmed that it was cheese & broccoli soup; the guy told me he would find out. He never mentioned it and again. It's really not much of a sports bar. Kind of lame. It's a nice meeting place for local people, who always seem to be trying hard to be cool. What is up with this in Seattle? But o have to say, the staff was really lame. Went to watch a playoff game and there were very few people in the bar, maybe 10-12. I I asked if I could go to the back room, which had zero people , and get a little volume on my game, and I got a very long song and dance about why that was not possible. Only championship games etc etc etc, were allowed volume. THE. except the bar tender wouldn't stop talking AND THEN TUENED THE MUSIC ON EVWN LOUDER- Rude! Been here three times and every time I get bad customer service. Seems like they have regulars that come often but are not very welcoming to new comers. The food is decent. Nothing special. To be fair, let's break the rating into two categories: as a local sports bar, rating 5. The atmosphere and ubiquitous high def screens make the experience a wonderful, convivial experience, especially if the local teams are playing. I sat with a packed place to watch a Mariners playoff game where every run by the Ms elicited loud cheers and high fives among strangers now a part of a new family. Plenty of seating in the main bar area or up the stairs in the back with booths and tables. Draught beers are mostly locally chosen with great choices like Scuttlebutt, Georgetown and Bale Breaker. Now as a bar-food place, rating 2. The burgers feature a paper thin slice of beef on a buttery brioche bun that overpowers any chance for the meat flavor to shine. I added the bacon upsell and the curse of bacon makers everywhere happened: limp, chewy and undercooked. A bacon sin. The fish tacos are so over slathered in a cream sauce that you get little sense of the battered fish other than the crunch. At least the tots are crispy. Plenty of neighborhood parking, most with at least two hour limits. Come for the booze and sports community, but maybe have a bite before you arrive. read more

Really enjoyed my lunch at The Westy for my first visit. Haley was very friendly and greeted me right away. I saw on the menu there was an "Angry Bird" wrap, however I am not a wrap guy. Haley said they were happy to make it into a sandwich for me. The feel here is that of a sports bar and at the time I was there, not very noisy at all. Came here randomly on a Sunday and ended up loving the small-town vibe of the place. There were lots of locals, good sports games on their TVs, and good beer and food options. The place is huge and has a few floors, but it feels like a legit sports bar. Loved the root beer on tap :) We ordered Totchos - these were surprisingly filling, even though they're meant to be a shareable appetizer, I highly recommend them! Westy Classic - this was bomb, the ghost pepper cheese provided just enough kick Had a few beers, their stout selection was good if you're into those. Nice local restaurant/bar in West Seattle. Good beer selection and the food is quite food. Had Westys classic burger. It was really tasty but a bit overpriced at $18.50 for a burger. Definitely recommend checking it out if you are in the neighborhood. I would definitely be back more often if the food was priced a little better. read more

We decided to try something new, so we ended up here. The happy hour menu looked interesting, so we were all in. Now when it comes to West Seattle, I tend to be on what I call the strip, which is that area of restaurants and retail on California. This neighborhood was new to me and this bar was basically nested in a residential neighborhood. Service was fast and friendly, We don't drink, so we had soda and I have to say, in most cases, when you get soda at a bar, the soda taste like everything that comes out of that handle. These sodas were crisp, so it appears to me maybe this place does a better job of cleaning their equipment, or it could have been that we arrived not long after open. I had the Westy Jr. burger and have to tell you, I was seriously disappointed with the patty. That was the skinniest patty I've ever seen at a bar or restaurant. It was the size of a Dick's single. That said, at $12, it was way overpriced in my book. Had the burger been at least ¼ pound, it would have been a much better experience, but while most places offer great value for Happy Hour, this place appeared to cut corners to achieve their discount. Based on the weak burger, we wouldn't return and despite the place having a lot of charm, being stiffed on our meals ruined the mood. Hubby and I went for some good happy hour (2-5pm) snacks and drinks and we were not disappointed. We had the chicken and mini waffles, steak bites, and Mexican corn cheese. All were delicious! The service was fast and friendly too. We'll definitely be back to try the rest of their menu. I forgot to take pictures of the food, but I got their most recent (4/2025) menu. As for the venue itself, it's a bit of a small entry, but opens up to another level in the back. Like any sports bar, there's TVs everywhere, but they're not loud, which I appreciated. This place has an upstairs kitchen and a bar downstairs creating a kinda nice division between the dining and drinking area. I had my usual hot honey chicken yesterday. I preferred it when they used dark meat chicken for this sandwich. Now that they use chicken breast, I find it less flavorful ( I don't think the meat was seasoned at all ), and not as tender. Still good, but I will have to find my next favorite item here's at Westy's. I enjoy coming here for the lively vibe at night, and there is plenty of street parking. read more

Watched the US vs. Canada hockey game here and it was an awesome atmosphere! Lots of TV's that can be seen from different angles and plenty of seating which is what we wanted. Solid sports bar. We visited on a Tuesday afternoon so it wasn't exactly crowded or anything but the service was really excellent and the beer was delicious! The pineapple cider was actually not too sour and had a distinct pineapple flavor that made for easy sipping. Same for the peanut butter stout. Tasted like a Guinness with a peanut butter after taste. Only thing that wasn't all that great was the food. We had the black bean burgers and they were fine. Nothing to write home about. Stopped in for a pint and some food to catch some sports on Root TV that we can't watch at home. The bar selection is fantastic and the food is flavorful and well put together. We were served by Becky and felt like we were a bother to her during our visit. Her demeanor was short, impatient and borderline rude. We are locals and we're very excited d to make this joint our regular go-to spot. Sadly, we were off-put by cold, dismissive service. Pros: Excellent, flavorful food. Great varieties of beverages. Local sports on multiple tvs. Cons: service, service, service. Please talk to Becky. She seems very comfortable and didn't seem interested in developing new regulars. (Side note: it was pretty dead and there was plenty of time to do a better job). She spent more time talking to some other Westy employee that was off the clock than us. We came here after going to Lincoln Park, which was only a 5 min drive away. Since it was sorta warm and we still had sunlight, we opted for the patio vs. being inside. You scan a QR code on the table (which is unique for your table), order, and pay all on the phone. It was pretty convenient for us as diners and probably less work for the workers to not need to constantly check on us. The con to this though was there was very limited service. They just bring out the orders but there was no check-in on if we needed anything throughout service. No water was given. We had to go in to ask for a to-go box. My boyfriend accidentally dropped his fork on the ground and I thought no way is this fork getting replaced. This IS a sports bar though and we were outside so unsure if things are different indoors. We ordered two burgers (mine was a regular cheeseburger w onions, lettuce, tomato, and my boyfriend's had bacon and ghost pepper cheese), and the Irish nachos and an alcoholic hibiscus lemonade. The burgers came with either a salad or tots for the side. The Irish nachos had super crunchy waffle fries which I enjoyed. The guac on top was average. The meat patties were thick at 1/3 pound which I liked, though I found it to be a little dry. I think the ghost pepper cheese in my boyfriend's burger really elevated the burger, though it was quite spicy. Overall, not bad. I'd maybe come back if I was in the area. read more

Wow, I've been here a handful of times and I've never reviewed this place?? This place is down the street from my house and I always forget it's here. I really enjoy the food and service has always been great. I've been here during the week days and on busy football game days. Always a good time. If you sit in the front, it does get a bit chilly but there tables upstairs. Staff are friendly and always around. It's a sport bars. They're not mean but they do get busy haha. I recently had the brontosaurus wings and those were so good. Love that it didn't have such a strong vinegar taste. I also always randomly crave the seared broccoli and Brussels sprouts from here so it says a lot about their food. read more

Great service!!! It was really fast despite being fairly busy due to the sports games everyone came to watch. I had lemon pepper wings and they were seasoned really well, the flavor was really well-balanced and the chicken fell off the bone!!! The blue cheese was also really complimentary to the wings. I also liked how many staff members helped our server whenever they could. She did not seem to be struggling with her service whatsoever but whenever she was busy helping another table other staff members cleared plates whenever they could!!! After reading reviews, dropped in here to watch the Seahawks game. You walk in on the ground floor and it's a small tight bar. At the end of that section, there are wide stairs that take you up to a wide area with booths and tables. They are strict about the walk areas down the middle - no crowding. I appreciated that. Service was slow at the beginning, but friendly. It's a nice crowd with cheers and moans, but not explosive reactions. The best part about them, is that they have the logos/helmets on each tv so you know which upcoming games will be on that screen. No guessing. I love that. read more

This is everything you want in a local sports bar. 10/10. Not too big and not too small. Open to the outdoors on a beautiful day with indoor and outdoor seating. Quick friendly service. The inside made me feel like I was below deck on a pirate ship with the lighting and wood interior. They had an excellent alcohol selection. I got a cucumber jalapeño cider that I'm still thinking about. The menu has tons of options and we got wings that were solid. I'd like to try more things to get a better feel for it. Ok I came here to read your review after talking to you. I bow out. I think you should be honest. It's the best policy. Enough is enough. I will add that you can refuse service for any reason. Making up that I was falling over drunk is sad. It isn't necessary. I can't be cut off if I'm at the register ready to leave and that is just common sense. I gave the place right next to you a great review and have never had issues with any of the places around me. Have gone there before and after you wrote this and nothing was brought up. I've gone to the place up the street before and after and had no issues. It's pathetic. I %100 stand by what is said. Little gem in West Seattle. You find your own table and don't need anyone to to seat you. You can sit outdoor or indoor. Server is extremely nice and quick. Food look great and it's delicious. We got Brussels sprouts, lemon dry rub chicken wings, tots-acho, and baby clam. read more

A super nice bar to watch a game and grab some fantastic food! We came down to west Seattle to head to the skate rink and stopped here to grab a bite. We ordered totchos and Brussels sprouts to start, and some well drinks. All came quickly and our server was so nice! We then ordered the angry chicken wrap, a burger and the hot honey chicken sandwich. We got the pterodactyl and t-Rex hot sauce. The hot sauce was okay. This is nearby and often convenient when I have guests coming into town. Food is pretty consistent and the on tap selection is good. Plenty of screens to watch whatever might be on when you stop in. Service is OK, have noticed a change since the pandemic with a QR code system that opens a tab for everyone at the table. The last 2 times visiting with guests, that made things more cumbersome than just being waited on with a menu and a server who can split check or do whatever as they did in before times. Grateful that last time, the server came by and was quick to bring menus and take care of us. My houseguest who was picking up the tab mentioned not wanting to sign up for an app just to eat here. Staff is OK, there were a little slow to respond when one of our meals did not come out with the rest. Initial server, food brought by another server, and then we were stranded. Was able to get bartender's attention eventually who chased down the issue and eventually apologized. First of all the staff are amazing. Kind, sincere, capable and welcoming. The space is fantastic. If you're not there for watching sports it's quiet and comfortable. But if it's sports watching you want, it's well designed for watching several games at once. Pretty much every seat has a view of 3-4 tvs with all the games on, each labeled with the teams playing. It's a bit dark tho and gen c and boomers often need to get out phones to read the menu. It's definitely a great place to watch the game! I wouldn't go anywhere else. While I like the food a lot, personally I'd make some changes. When I go to a place like this I'm looking for the most classic version. I don't want or need an innovation or unusual twist. In that respect I wish their sauces and dressings were a bit more like the classic standards. To me that means no sunflower seeds on the salads (I always forget to ask to leave them off) and classic dressing recipes. I'm not fond of their thousand island for example. It's yellow and sweet. I'd rather have the standard pinkish kind sweetened only by the ketchup used to make it. The buffalo wing sauce is absolutely perfect I think but the blue cheese dressing was not as good. Could use more cheese crumbles I think. I don't know if there were pickles on my burger but to me they're a must have. My burger was good but not perfect. It could have used some pub sauce(ketchup and mayo). But otherwise it was quite good. I love this place and I'll definitely be back. It's a great little neighborhood pub. read more
