    Gardener scramble
    Michele F.

Two friends and I came here for brunch this morning. The waiter/bartender was super friendly and attentive. We each decided to get scrambles, I opted for the gardener, which was served on top of breakfast potatoes. The portions were huge and although I found the potatoes to be very salty on their own, they were much better when eaten together with the eggs and veggies. I'd definitely recommend considering Shadowland if you're looking for a good weekend brunch in West Seattle.

Super chill bar that has the open vibe feel to it. This was our last stop for the evening, and we ended up with some good drinks and also a snack.

Went to Shadowland West - my understanding is this place is hot again and cold again. I see kind of the same with the reviews here. Well I can say the food was 5 stars when I went there and there was a small crowd so these people must know something. Service was mostly good sometimes had to wave someone down but the food was 5 stars. Chicken Fried steak was money the corned beef has was beautiful. Bloody Mary's spicy and a good pour I was buzzing on one which is great! If this place is hot and cold it's definitely hot right now!!

Super cool energetic atmosphere here! Visited Shadowland briefly while waiting for our dinner reservation close by. This is a very casual and lively bar serving good cocktails. From observing the food scene here, I could tell they serve up DELICIOUS bar food. Everyone seem to be enjoying their meal. i'm so glad I stumbled upon this bar, will definitely visit again!

I have been to Shadowland a couple of times, and it has been okay. The prior reviews seem to discuss poor service. I wanted to go somewhere where I could walk to, and after looking at the menu, I decided to try Shadowland again. I had already decided before entering that I was going to have the Nurse Pattie's Melt, their version of a patty melt. It was very good. The caramelized onions, Russian dressing, and the cheese, made the burger to be above average. The meat itself could use more seasoning, but overall it was excellent. The French fries that the burger was served on top of were hot, crisp, but the majority of the fries consisted of small pieces as the picture depicts. The issue is the service. There were no more than ten other guests in the restaurant, but it took too long to be greeted. I asked what red wines were available or what did the server suggest. He just didn't know what was being served, but after I asked for a Pinot Noir or a nice blend, he came back with a very nice Pinot Noir. He did not know it was, but said he would check. It was Violet Hills, from Rogue Valley in Oregon. It was $12 a glass, and well worth it. The oddity is that the receipt stated Foris as the Pinot Noir being rung in. I watched a nearby couple come in, and they waited for over five minutes to being greeted. Again, only about a dozen other guests in the restaurant. The couple asked about which IPA's available, but again, the server had no idea. He did point out the beers being written on a board in the restaurant. I just can't figure out what Shadowland is trying to be. The previous night I went to a restaurant that was less than a mile away, and they had a 45 minute wait. Shadowland has a nice menu, but more focus on all of the food and the service is critical if Shadowland desires more volume.

dined in here once about a year ago, was not impressed by any means. barely passable bar food and that's being pretty generous. tonight i placed a takeout order. not only was there a hair in the burger, there appears to have been a bite taken out of it. disgusting. upon realizing this, i called the restaurant. the bar tender who answered the phone was dismissive, rude, and laughed and said it wasn't a bite taken out of it, but if i brought the burger back they would refund the burger (not the entire order). wouldn't take care of this issue over the phone. or i could dm them about it on instagram and they'd get back to me in two days. i returned the entire order to the restaurant. 2 minutes later the manager called me, very apologetic. refunded the full order. TLDR: food sucks. it will come with hairs and be partially eaten. and the service and people who work there don't understand basic customer service. will never go back. honestly shocked they are still in business.

The food was very good, and fairly priced considering it is in West Seattle. The patty melt was amazing!! The french dip was very good, the poutine was perfect, and the broccoli was fantastic. I also got a Shirley Temple and the waiter bought me a free refill without even having to ask! They also played some very good music! Will definitely be coming back.

Good stop for weekend brunch. Good variety on the menu. Hash was tasty and filling but the veg kept it from being a total gut buster. Bar tender seemed to be on his own but he was doing a good job of keeping up. Bloody Mary was decent. Bit spicy and maybe a tad too tangy but didn't stop us from having a second.

These are the best cheese curds ever bc the batter isn't heavy like other cheese curds I've had. It's tempura battered so it's light and you can taste the cheese more. The jalapeño strawberry dip and ranch are good dips, but try them together and it will blow your mind. The fried green beans were okay. They did have a heavier batter on them and I wish they had the same batter the cheese curds had. The spicy dip was good! The rosemary popcorn was delicious! It had just enough butter and the perfect amount of rosemary where it's not overpowering. Once you get to the bottom, there's tons of butter and you just dip and soak it up with the popcorn. Also, PATTI was AMAZING!!!! She checked in on us throughout the evening. She's very sweet and I will be back bc of Patti!

Parking was free and plenty of it on the streets. I visited on Super Bowl Sunday, about 2-3hrs before the game to get seats. This was a good idea because there was only a handful of seats available. We were lucky enough to get a table for 4 of us. The hosts were very welcoming and go us seated at the bar when it was only two of us. When we informed them about an hour prior to kick off that we needed two more seats, they did their best to get us seated. It was very kind of them to even look around, let alone actually find us space. This was very much appreciated. The first hour or so, when there was only two of us, we had a few beers, the cheese curds and the chicken fried steak with potatoes. The beers were exactly what you think they would taste like and they weren't terribly expensive which was nice. The cheese curds were a great shareable item, good flavor and a fair amount of them. The chicken fried steak was good, nothing crazy, but not below average. Portion was good sand it was cooked right to have that nice crips on the outside with the gravy poured over top. I think the only thing I wasn't that big of a fan of was the potatoes, I should've opted for the tots or hash potatoes instead, but I'll have to try it again. Yes, I would recommend this place. Seems like a good place to meet with friends for a game and meet friends. I almost forgot to mention they have an outside area in the back was is covered so there's more than enough space to maneuver and enjoy your time.

This restaurant is located in the North Admiral neighborhood in West Seattle. There's a mix of neighborhood, street, and pay-to-park options. I highly recommend the free neighborhood parking option. The vibe of this restaurant is a bright, airy, and full of foliage. The space is comfortable and perfect for the group or solo dining. Seating options are either booths, regular tables, high tops, and bar top. Their liquor collection is decent and they do have seasonal craft cocktails. Side note, they only accept reservations for parties of 6 or more. For brunch, I went with their shakshuka & thai crab cake. The dish had a delicious red curry tomato sauce with bell peppers, lemongrass, and garlic. There was small thai-style crab cake nestled in the center of the dish and topped with a poached egg. This was served with 2 pieces of toasted bread. The dish was amazing! The sauce paired perfectly with the crab cake and poached egg. The toasted bread was perfect for scooping up the curry tomato sauce. The portion size for this dish was on the smaller side and could just be an appetizer. I also ordered a KettleOne martini with a twist, which was properly made and served in a chilled Nick & Nora glass. Service was very friendly and prompt with frequent check-ins and water refills.

My mom ordered the fresh spring Benedict, which she really enjoyed as well. It was a little different. The sauce taste very fresh, but it was very enjoyable. I ordered the French toast. They were very delicious. Very yummy if you love coconut this is going to be your ultimate favorite French toast ever. my mom ordered the pancakes.. now that's a different story. We were expecting the pancakes to be very delicious cause obviously look at them. They look so delightful but I don't know if it was just the batch they made that day or if this is what their recipe is, we took a bite from the pancake and it felt like it almost fizzed in our mouth. I don't know if they put baking soda or something in their pancake mix but the pancake was honestly very terrible which was very upsetting because we specifically came to this location for their pancakes because they look so delicious. The plating is phenomenal, again I don't know if it was just the batch this day, but we were very disappointing. Service 4/5 Service was great. They are very nice although we did take a while to be ready to order the food but we did order drinks first. I think our server forgot to come check on us again, which is not a problem, but they could be a little more hyper aware of their tables. Ambience 5/5 This is definitely a really cute spot full of a lot of plants. Cute little place to get together for a quick brunch.
