Amazing cocktail bar!! Rich, my bartender was the best!! Super friendly, responsive, and gave great recommendations. I ordered the Otter old fashioned and the Wanderlust. Both were legit, spirit forward drinks. The Wanderlust had especially a unique tropical twist. I will definitely be back.

I kept seeing posts about this bar in my neighborhood but never had the opportunity to stop in (I don't make the trek to the Admiral Junction often). Stopped in with neighborhood friends on Saturday and they had no clue this place was even here lol. The goth in me appreciated the simple and modern Halloween decorations, the Fig flatbread, and the popcorn. My specialty cocktail was underwhelming so I switched to my usual drink. My friend also did the same as her specialty cocktail was too sweet for what she expected. Took a while to get our drinks (2 of 3 of us had alcohol. The 3rd just had soda) and we thought our order was AWOL At around $15 per cocktail I was expecting more impact. Perhaps I need to try a different drink next time. I do wish there was a better variety of snacks, not just flatbread and popcorn.

Best cocktails. Best service. I love it here. Gem in this neighborhood but literally a gem for any part of town. It's really special here because they care, are super knowledgeable, and want to pour into the community with fun!

Pretty good drinks. West Seattle needs some more bars that are open late. Gets busy around 9 on the weekends. Good service! I think it would benefit from maybe like a DJ on sat nights. West Seattle needs some spice and it would encourage the large young late twenties early 30s crowd living around here to frequent. Downside: very limited food menu. It has flatbreads, cookies, and they bring you pretzels but I'm allergic to gluten so they'res lit nothing I can eat here. Prevents people from staying longer and spending more. I also don't just want a salad. Weird thing: the bathroom is weird. I've never been in a unisex multi stall restroom and noticed most people entering were a little uncomfortable, even the guys. Some waited outside for a girl to finish using the restroom. Will just take some getting used to, but glad it doesn't have urinals. LMAO.

    Mystic old fashioned.

This place is cute as hell. I've been wanting to go here for some time now. I dragged my cousin out here one night to try some drinks. I ordered the mystic fashioned and my Thai. Both fantastic drinks, the only thing I didn't like was the after taste of the my Thai. Very almondy and it was noted on the menu. I just didn't think it was going to be the prominent. It's a very tangy citrusy drink so it was a bit weird for my taste bud but the old fashioned was great, very strong and so yummy. Didn't get food but I will definitely have to come to try the flatbread. Service was great. The two bartenders working were friendly and attentive. Looks like a great place for date night.

Ok so I was meaning to go here for quite sometime, finally!!! Grabbed my niece and we decided 2 rounds of cocktails & some of that amazing fig flatbread. Great vibes here only as it's a chill place with a team that gives great recommendations and are super chill. If you haven't made it here yet make it your business to bring a book, a dog, your friend or whatever to enjoy a good drink and good vibes.

I LOVED this quiet little bar in West Seattle. I saw Otter on the Rocks on Instagram and we stopped in for their warm and cozy holiday ambiance. The bar tender greeted us upon arrival and was very kind and welcoming! We ordered off the holiday drink menu- I got a mulled wine and my partner had a holiday eggnog. Both drinks were super festive! Our friends came to join us and they had the mulled wine and some cocktails from their original menu as well. Otter on the Rocks has a cute little fancy flatbread oven, so we shared some apple bacon flatbreads. They were wonderful- 10/10 on the bar snack meter! Overall, we had a super fun wintery double date at Otter on the Rocks and I would 100% recommend stopping in for a cocktail and a flatbread!

One of my favorite bars! The vibes are cozy and jazzy, the owners are the sweetest and if the bar isn't too crowded, they'll make you off the menu drinks to taste test. They don't have a lot of food options but the drinks are 10/10.

Lovely cocktail bar in West Seattle. Heard alot about this place and finally visited this one last week on a lazy Thursday. The ambience and decor is modern. We were promptly seated by the bartender who was also our server. We wasted no time and rivht asay placed our order - mystic old fashioned, hidden pebble, spring fling and summer break. We loved all their drinks but the mystic old fashioned was the best for me. The drinks were very well made and tasted great. They also have something for everyone on the menu here. They do serve some finger food here too but we stopped by for only cocltails so maybe will come back for food some other time. All in all loved this cocktail bar in West Seattle and will certainly come back here with friends.

went to check out this admiral addition and it's a gem! the otter is going to be a neighborhood mainstay, if this past weds, the start of their second week open, is any indication. i got there about 5:30pm and there were only two other tables occupied but by the time we left a couple of hours later, i counted easily 20 or more individuals occupying tables both on the ground level and in the upstairs loft space. the space is designed well with cute, stylish touches. the chairs we were in towards the door weren't the most comfortable after an hour or so but maybe i chose poorly because right at the window i think there's some blue upholstered seats that might be more prime and in demand for those who intend to remain for the long haul. the bar tender waited on us and was knowledgeable about the drinks, helping with decision making at times. the owner came by and was touched by my enthusiastic comment about the space and the opening. we didn't eat, just drank, but it's a space that i hope will thrive. you can tell there's been a lot of effort and intentionality in its opening. the drink menu is super creative and my oaxacan seoulS (yeah, i had more than one :)) were super tasty. the sesame oil float hit the spot and accented the other drink flavors. keep basking in the soon to be here spring sun, otter! looking forward to more visits in the coming months and to your continued success!

Love this place! Varied menu, photogenic and delightful drinks, lots of refreshing options for the warm summer days. Serves food and live entertainment! Will be back. Took the king county water taxi over to explore west Seattle and this place was on my radar for awhile now. It's about a mile from the water taxi terminal or a short 7 minute bus ride - awesome accessibility for the nondrivers! Arrived around 4:30pm on a Saturday and settled in some cozy blue chairs inside. There is a small outside patio for those who prefer. A great interior space with some colorful wall art along the long side of the space. There's also a cozy loft that looks really inviting for groups seeking a more intimate experience. The beverages were divine and photogenic. I ordered the Madam Mim which is this beautiful violet color. I don't care for cucumber at all but I'm so glad I took a chance on this because it's a light hint of cucumber that really completes the beverage. Next time I want to try one of the many flatbreads, and stay for some jazz music. Photo of the mystic fashioned my husband ordered.

Super friendly spot for cocktails, owner went out of his way to make us feel welcome! You know the "art" of being there when you need them and not hovering over you constantly? He has it down pat. And was willing to educate us on cocktails too. We loved the open air vibe in the front which was great for people watching. I'm an interior designer and the inside is extremely well done...from the color palette to the geometric shapes - it really flows and blends well. Don't hesitate to stop in for a drink (or two!).

BoxBar has been on our list of vegan places to try for forever and a day. We made it out that way…read morethis weekend and our experience lived up to everything we've heard about them!! The pasta was amazingly tender, cooked to perfection. There was a lot of flavor and depth in each bite, more of a deliciously earthy mac and cheese as opposed to maybe a velveety smooth creamy type. The Jalapeño poppers were amazing. I've always associated poppers with a crusted fried topping but these were bold, going in a different direction. The jalapeños were fresh and soft to the bite, easy to cut with the side of a fork, loaded with components such as cashew cheddar, crema, avocado sauce, sweet pickled jalapeños, pico and cabbage slaw - all coming together perfectly in each bite (i'm utilizing their menu description) For the main dish, Sandi ordered the "Smokey Barbecue" which came with a complimentary side of chips and I ordered the Portobello French Dip and upgraded my side to a Side Salad for an extra $4. Each dish, every bite was delicious, even something as simple as a side salad was elevated with their Ginger Tahini dresing. Dipping the Portobello Sandwich into the Dip was just .. magical. We also both opted for the same drink, South Park Mule. The drink was legit, in addition to tasting great, I actually had a buzz as well .. indicating to me they didn't skimp on the adult juice Their food is amazing across the board and there's so much more to go back and try! Definitely worth the trip!!

I'm updated my review to reflect a recent takeout dining experience…read more A couple weeks ago, we ordered 2 salads, and 2 sandwiches. We ordered pickup. Upon arrival to our house, the order was incorrect, whoopsie! We called back and the waiter who answered mentioned that we had accidentally taken a staff meal home. None of our to-go boxes were labeled. How could anyone know? This is a rookie mistake. It's been a while since this Goblin worked in food, but that's a non-negotiable. Especially given a place that prides itself on catering to restricted diets and lifestyles. This is exactly how you let a pumpkin seed slide into a seed allergy order. Instead of letting us keep the meal, she asked us to bring it back to the restaurant. We were happy to do so. Everyone deserves to eat. Should we have kept it for ourselves? We bring the food back, and the waiter explains that there was a mixup, and apologized. They handed us another to-go box (which wasn't labeled) and tried to end the conversation. "Have a good night!" We had to then explain to this waiter that our wives demanded something in return for the error, which was true. The waiter/bartender had a puzzled look on their face. Customer? Demanding I make something right? In my workplace?! A direct statement void of passivity about the quality of my service? With conditions? The audacity! We live in a world where we, the customer, bring back your incorrect order for you, waste our time, and we just get a, "thanks, have a good night!" This goblin had to claw his way up the ranks pillaging for gold which doesn't come easy. Everyone knows food cost in Seattle went up ~%46 since 2019. Wages haven't. We told the waiter our wives wanted a slice of cake. The waiter was shook by our audacity, and moved towards the fridge behind the bar to consult with two chefs who were shutting it down. We were arriving near/at close on a Monday. The other two chefs body language exuded "just give them the rest of the cake". There was a couple moments of pause and hushed conversation. The waiter pulled out a large serving plate with only a small chunk of Chocolate Mousse Cake left. Instead of putting that into a box, apologizing, and fixing the problem. They conferred about the legitimacy of our claim with the chefs. Hesitantly, they cut the cake into a small slice, put it in a box (which wasn't labeled) and handed it to us. What's hilarious is that they would leave such a small piece going into the next day of prep. Why not just 86 it right there? Why was it so hard for this person to acknowledge they made a mistake, and do something kind for us in return? The chefs clearly understood these fundamental building blocks of customer service, had they not been there in the front of house, I'm sure the waiter would've made an excuse to not remedy the situation. From all of my years in food service, if something is wrong, you make it right, end of story. By owning the error, you keep your integrity. Even a small gesture like 10% off one item, between the hours of 7:35pm- 7:45pm every third Monday, however inconsequential and trivial, makes people feel like you've made things right. These basics need to be addressed with FOH staff. With food cost nearing the price of rent each month in Seattle, customers should feel empowered to speak their mind respectfully. My only reason for going into excruciating detail is the hope that this can be a teaching moment, and more people can eradicate passivity. Passivity is a threat to community, culture, service, and so many other integral parts of our society. It's OK to disagree in public. It's OK to check someone. It's OK to tell your server "No, honestly, it wasn't that good, here's why..". When we deny the truth about our experiences for fear of disrupting the status quo, we withhold an essential part of building stronger, more diverse and resilient communities. "Goblin D, don't you think this is a bit too deep for a food review?" No, and if you've made it this far, the two stars are for the two chefs who made sure we got our cake.
