What a lively and cool place to be! There's street parking around the area and it wasn't too hard to find a spot but I'm sure it can get hard when it's peak hours. The bar was a vibe and the ambiance is very cool but it does get very loud when it's busy. There's a decent amount of seating and bar seating available. We got a couple things to try: Dry Fried Long Beans, Spicy Shrimp and Pork Dumplings, Chow Fun, and Chow Mein. The Long Beans were some of the best we've ever had, flavorful, not too soft nor too hard, and I would come back for them! The Dumplings were good but they weren't unique or special. Both Chow Fun and Chow Mein were made well, delicious, and flavorful. Overall, the dishes were good and made well. I wanted the portions to be a bit larger for the prices. We also got the Crimson Tiger Margarita and it was sweet, refreshing, and a good balance to the meal. It was a little bit confusing when we walked in because there was no one in the front dining area. We walked to the back and that's where everyone was. Our waitress and host were very nice and so accommodating! They answered our questions and gave recommendations for what we asked for. Overall, service was phenomenal. Holy moly! This place is AMAZING! It's very easy to dismiss this location because it doesn't look like much from the road. The moment you open the front door it's magical. It's like stepping into a different dimension. The decor is absolutely beautiful. You seat yourself here which is nice. Customer service is above and beyond what is normal these days. The menu is small but that's perfect for us. That means they specialize on a small menu and make things great. Everything was "whoa" worthy. One of my favorite restaurants in Seattle. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and delicious. My go-to order includes the beef and broccoli, honey walnut prawns (something I wouldn't normally order, but now absolutely crave), dumplings (the fresh herbs and the chili sauce are outstanding), and long beans. I also love their egg rolls. The tropical cocktails are a nice balance to the food and are always strong and delicious. The staff are attentive and friendly. The cozy, dim ambiance is perfect. Sometimes the AC is blasting so if you get cold easily like me, I recommend bringing a sweater, even in the summer. My husband and I live across town from this place so it usually takes us between 30-45 mins to get here, but it's always worth the drive. My only complaint? They're not open on Sundays! OVERALL: 9/10 (Yelp Converted Score: 4.5/5). Pricey but a fantastic vibe. I'll definitely come back at least one more time! My partner and I initially thought this place would just have a superficial Chinese facade, but the actual food (especially the honey garlic prawns) were decent! We dropped in at 9:30pm on a Thursday evening in August 2022, and were seated in the front booth area (which reminded me of a diner, but darker). 1) VARIETY/SELECTION: 9/10. Remember that this place is first and foremost a bar, and yet, my partner and I ordered food, as well. We ordered a caiparinha, slushy, and paloma to drink, and for food, we ordered the honey prawns, dumplings, and spare ribs. 2) FRESHNESS: 10/10. The thing that impressed both my partner and I was that the honey walnut prawns and the spare ribs were both delicious (we had a low bar, since this looked much more like a bar than a restaurant). The dumplings were decent as well, but the prawns definitely stood out as the "wow" dish for both of us. The drinks all tasted great in their own way, as well. 3) VALUE FOR MONEY: 9/10. the food dishes were (on average) $13/dish, before tax or tip. The drinks were $11/drink (on average); overall, after tax/tip, for two people, I paid ~$45/person. It's a bit more than you might pay for dinner, but given that we ordered 3 drinks and 3 dishes of food, I'd say it wasn't bad! 4) SERVICE: 8/10. I heard about this place a few years ago because I like to know where all the karaoke bars are, but just finally visited following a friend's birthday party. I really enjoyed the vibe here. I sat at the bar, which is at the back of the restaurant in a separate room, and the way that the serving area on the bar is placed it ends up leaving like a little two stool area at the end of the bar, which is quirky and nice. There are booths and an old-fashioned take-a-ticket gizmo for getting your spot at a table if the place is full. The menu is fun and bartenders were really friendly, efficient, and overall just pretty cool people. I got the scotch old-fashioned which I thought was good, but I'd like to try some more of the drinks. Sadly, we learned that their karaoke has been discontinued since COVID days, so we all left before I got a chance to sit in the dining area and try the food. This is essentially a bar that serves Chinese food on paper plates and disposable chopsticks. It is NOT a Chinese food restaurant. They don't even have hot tea!! The food was pretty good but not really like the Chinese food you would get in a restaurant. Unfortunately, I wasn't as impressed with the food as everyone else has written about it. The biggest issue I had with the food was everything was WAY TOO SALTY. Although everything came out in a reasonable time, everything was way too salty. Even with the white rice that comes with some of the dishes, it only barely helped mask the salt. The food came out very warm and definitely spicy where it was indicated on the menu, however I really wish that it wasn't so salty. It really tasted like the dishes called for a teaspoon of salt but instead a few tablespoons of salt were added. Another thing that I was a little disappointed in was the fact that the karaoke room was kind of an afterthought. Only one mic worked, and it would always score each singer/song that was sung an 80%, no matter how good or bad you sang. There were a couple times people would come in to the room, and leave their drinks on the benches. When I got in there, there was a lot of mess and empty glasses. Stopped by because the exterior looked like it was from a Twilight Zone movie scene. It reminded me of one of my favorites episode with a Chinese restaurant that had fortune cookies that predicted the future. Well.... I didn't get a fortune cookie, what I got was some of the most delicious BBQ Pork I've ever had. It's definitely an east meets west creation and mix it with hot mustard???? And some scallions??? Came here for some late night drinks and food. I really enjoyed this place mainly because they were playing 90s R&B music. I also like the decor. The frozen drinks they have were good, as I tried one of the frozen margaritas. As for food, we ordered: Mongolian beef, fried rice, and honey walnut shrimp. Each of these dishes were very good. The Mongolian beef has some spice to it and was served with white rice. The fried rice was very flavorful and came with Chinese sausage. The service was great but the food was just ok. General tso chicken - really lacking flavor. It had Chili's in it and everything but just came off like mild flavored salty chicken. Pork fat wontons - zero flavor whatsoever and it was drowning in chili oil which was really the only thing I could taste. The wonton wrappers were also way too thick. Honey walnut prawns - the saving grace for this place. Prawns were good size and nicely cooked, sauce was good, not great but definitely the best dish. They closed during the pandemic and upon reopening, reduced the menu slightly, which is understandable. Hope they eventually bring back the Mapo Tofu.
