I love Tim's and have been a long time Tim's patron. Now that they have moved to White Center I don't go there as much but still try to get there every chance I get since they have such a great menu -- and I love that they have a meat menu and a vegan menu with all comparable items. This last time though was a bit of a disappointment. The drinks were super watered down to the point of wondering if there was even alcohol in them. My friend and I both ordered food -- I ordered the vegan corned beet reuben and my friend ordered the classic original smashstack burger. It was really busy with a band playing inside but it took forever to bring the food out, and when it did come out my friend's smashstack burger was as cold as ice -- basically a hockey puck. I think my sammy took much longer or something -- who knows but it was disappointing -- even the fries were cold. Anyway, I know I will be back because I love Tim's but next time will order shots or something in a can -- and I might not order food if it is really busy. read more

Recently checked out Tim's on Sunday! We were craving burgers and our friends who were Vegan recommended this spot as it has good food and a good vegan menu as well. We walked in and due to this is a music event space there was a concert going on. We decided to order and the bar and sit outside. Cute bar and good vibes. We ordered two vegans burgers, one beef burger and buffalos wings. We also got loaded tots with vegan cheese. All in all everything was very good. The wings were a bit over done. But the vegan entrees were surprising delicious. I've never been to a dive bar that serves vegan food and this was fun and cool to check out different spots. I would come here again and recommend it to any vegans who love a good dive bar! read more

Had a lovely time Monday evening meeting up with established and new friends at Tim's Tavern in the White Center area of Seattle. Tim's Tavern is an amazing establishment that has a completely separate vegan menu and offers live music or some form of entertainment on most nights. If that's not temptation for you, every Monday they offer a 15% discount on all vegan items!!! For Monday evening, we were treated to an eight round game of Trivia, with a very lively and energetic emcee, pitted against other tables/teams present at the restaurant. Did we win? Well, let me put it this way ... there were no losers as everyone walked away with a parting prize, I chose the Muppets "Animal" themed socks and my wife, "Corpse Bride". Their vegan menu is top notch, there's enough variety and decadence to rival that of any vegan menu regardless of the type of establishment. Perusing through the menu you'll find appetizers, burgers, sandwiches and hot dogs, tacos, salads, and sides. The food we tried was amazing. The Fried Cauliflower had a crispy exterior coating contrasted with a soft texture for the actual vegetable which combined, between the flavor and texture made for a delectable bite! The BBQ Pulled Shroom came with a refreshing side salad and the sandwich itself, between the tanginess of the sauce and pulled mushroom texture, truly astounding. I could go on and on but every dish we tried was equally as amazing in person as they are mouth watering and drool worthy in the pictures. Rated 1 because the last 3 times I have had to double check the bill and the discounts for happy hour were not included and the TOTAL Bill on the reader included and 20% in very small print and ALSO allowed additional tipping. Same stupid excuses given each time about why the discounts were not applied and then stated the bill shows the 20% included before you get to TIP again. CHECK THE BILL... 3 times and same thing. Not sure what exactly...there may have been lettuce (can't remember), but maybe it was missing the crunch of a big slab of lettuce? Tasted good, and would definitely get again. Stopped in for a drink during a car show. First time in this bar and we were surprised at how cute this set up was in the back. Perfect day for outdoor patio seating. We had some shots and a couple margaritas. Drinks were quite spendy for as small as they were. Staff was really nice, both inside the bar/restaurant and outside bar. Also ordered a Seattle dog and some tots. Tots were good. Very crispy fresh out of the fryer. The Seattle dog was okay, nothing special and very underwhelming. OPEN MIC NIGHT Wednesday night was open mic. I love the open mic blues jams at The Eagles and also Elmer's in Burian. This was different. There is no back line. (Drums and amps) and they do not mix and match musicians. Rather it is mostly solo performances who for the most part okay guitar and sing. There was also one little girl who sang with a strained voice and played a ukulele. She must have been all but 6 years old. I wanted to tell her parents that if she keeps straining like that she will ruin her voice by the time she is 16. The food is great. I had a smash burger. But could have done without the sweet pickle chips which made the burger too sweet. I picked the off. There is a full bar with a variety of craft beer on tap. The atmosphere is eclectic and visually engaging. There is also a covered patio that is lit romantically at night. I would go back for the food and the ambiance, but I will pass on Wednesday nights. Place was cool! I think the only thing that kinda took one star away was standing in-line to order food from the bar soon as you walk in? Pretty torn on how to rate Tim's because while there's a lot to like in theory, in practice our experience sort of fell short of our expectations. Came out for a weeknight show with friends and we were stoked that their website advertises a "Heated Covered Dog-Friendly Patio" and vegan menu. Despite there being an outdoor stage, this night's show was inside. We'd brought our dog so were relegated to outdoors, where the heat was not actually flowing and it was quite cold. We'd come a long ways so stayed. Food and drink are both ordered at the bar, a process which was described to me by my companions as a bit challenging, mostly due to how loud it was inside with the live music. My G&T was strong (a plus!) and served in a plastic cup (a minus!). I don't know if this is standard practice or because we were seated outside, but it felt very fratty. I love that they have a vegan menu with bar staples like cauliflower wings, nachos with vegan queso, Beyond burgers, Impossible corndogs, and also salads and sandwiches and tacos (oh my!). They also offer an omnivore version of the menu which has the same classics but not vegan. I went with the Vegan BBQ Pulled Shroom Sammy (shredded oyster mushrooms slow cooked in house-made scratch bbq sauce, topped with dill pickles and coleslaw on toasted bun), and the hubs went with Vegan Corned Beet Reuben (slow roasted beets marinated in pickling spices, scratch thousand island, sauerkraut, and plant-based cheese on toasted marble rye). These are $15 sandwiches served in a plastic basket that do not come with any sides. The tater tots we shared ($6) were delicious. So while tasty, it all seemed very overpriced for what we got and how it was presented. Like, a $75 meal for two shouldn't have fast food vibes, you know? If I end up coming back it'll likely be for a show and a drink only, and I'll leave the pooch at home so I can actually go inside to enjoy it. read more

There is a ton of love about this place! The food is delicious and there are tons of exciting options for folks with various dietary restrictions. I loved the beet, Yes I said beet pastrami sandwich! My wife get the real pastrami and I liked mine better. The service is great, should put to Rachel! Super on it, warm and professional. We felt welcome at every turn with everyone we talked to. I just had dinner with my friends and have mixed feelings about this place. I ordered the tacos and they were delicious. BUT they were tiny street taco sized tacos and they were $5 each and low on filling with barely cooked tortillas. So, it was a very disappointing "meal." Taco Rant time First of all, it is absurd to charge $5 for tacos that are smaller than coaster. For reference at any taco truck these are the 75¢-$2 sized tacos. Secondly, even if the ingredients are high quality and thus expensive for the restaurant there _needs_ to be a disclaimer on the menu stating that the tacos are extremely small to prepare all guests. read more

Also a great place to eat if you're gluten sensitive as they have separate fryers for gluten free and vegan food. I live in the neighborhood and have been there a few times. The food we've tried has been hits and misses except for the cost - that hits. Every. Time. IMO it's pricey for what you're getting. Add in a few beers and a decent tip and owie! Mommy, that mortal wound on my checking account hurts! The attention from staff has also been hit and miss. Sometimes when you walk in folks are like, "Hey! How ya doin'? Be with you in a minute." Other times you eventually wander to find a mirror to see if you've come down with a spontaneous case of invisibility. I've seen a few good shows there - no doubt they get some great music - but generally, it's too f*cking loud. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know. "If it's too loud you're too old." Bullsh#t! Seriously. I went on a Thursday. The band was Great. trumpet player it was .. Lit. atmosphere is nice. I had the chicken sandwich and enjoyed it, potato salad was good. I appreciate when places have more than one non-alcoholic option. it seems people actually come to listen to the music. women's room was clean and well stocked which is always nice at a bar. Edit: Ok I stopped by for a snack and the prices seemed way more reasonable and the bartenders were pleasant. I plan on giving the place a couple more chances before writing them off. I really enjoyed coming here when they first opened. Now it seems like none of the original crew is still there? The new people have zero personality and the service is horrible. So...what happened? We first started going here when Tim's opened. Best wait staff ever. Great food. Ambiance inviting and fun. Admittedly, we have not been there for several months. I guess things change when you are not paying attention. Tonight was going to be the night I was going to treat myself. Hubby out fishing with a friend. Just me, my son, and my 2 grandkids. I was so excited. We were going to Tim's! It had been so long, and I was really looking forward to treating myself. From jump, I could feel the difference. No friendly greeting from a human. Just a sign that said "order at bar." We sat ourselves ( no big deal) and started looking at the menu. I was happily surprised when wait-staff showed up to take our order. That was short-lived. The person who would be helping us seemed bothered by our very presence. The entire time we were there, I had to stop myself from apologizing for every request I made. I felt like a nuisance. To me, being in a welcoming environment is part of the whole eating experience. From the beginning I felt like an unwanted guest We tried to order a few things. Apparently, there is a menu change going on. I get that. There is always a transition when there is a menu change. How about the person who is serving let's you know? I downloaded the QRC. I placed my order, and at that time I was told abruptly, "That's the new menu, and it isn't ready now." ok...looked at the paper menu. Ordered again. Nope, still a slew of things not available. Finally, I got the order in, and the server had to come back one last time for is to pick another item that was available. $26 cover charge for 2 to see cover band on a Friday night. No service outside had to go into the bar to order food. Food was delivered to the table. Ordered 4 tacos at $5 each and onion rings at $8. Only received three tacos and onion rings. Was charged $32 and items purchased were not listed on receipt. Went back to the bar because the math didn't add up while food was getting cold. No toilet paper in bathroom stalls before band even started playing. Left the table briefly to go out front, had chairs tipped forward to show wait staff we were coming back and the table was cleared upon our return. Was going to attach photo of receipt but it got tossed when we stepped out and the waitress cleared the table. Had to get more water and the one waitress on shift left a garbage can at end of table and told us to clear it before the band was even done playing. Small portions, overpriced food, unfriendly/inconsiderate staff, not enough staff, no transparency on purchases. Was surprised to see a vegan menu offered. Alcoholic Beverage Menu was lacking in transparency as much as the receipts were. Trying to upsell mixed cocktails and wine. Did not even know pitchers of beer were offered as it was not listed on the menu and neither were prices for optional size glasses. If you are only going to drink or listen to live music, it could probably rate a little higher, but I was really hoping for a better meal. To be clear, the cook did not mess up my order. There is simply something fundamentally low quality about either the recipes or the ingredients compared to similar establishment in the area. I hosted my 50th High School reunion at Tim's on Friday October 12th. Communication with Manager/Owner not very well responsive. Left a few messages with no return call however one verbal communication was confirmed earlier this year and in person as well with 2 classmates. The ONE bartender was not aware of the event which was 65-70 people. She did the best she could but another Bartender and or waitress was definitely needed to handle the crowd. Tim's could have made a lot more revenue with an additional bartender as it was very difficult to get drinks. All in all everyone had a good time but I would not host another event there. read more

My family and I LOVE Tim's Tavern! Seeing the reviews I can tell you that the food is great for the price. Huge portions, and I've tried most everything on the menu. Not a bad one yet. Highly recommend their Reuben Sandwich. One of the best I've had. With sweet fries! The staff go above and beyond, and the atmosphere is cool, and real. Dinner and a show are the thing to do. We're glad to have Tim's in our neighborhood. Live music 6 days a week. The outdoor music space is not huge but comfortable. The food prices have gone up (we spent about $80 for 8 tacos and 5 drinks) but it's no surprise considering inflation, Seattle's very high wages, and the unfortunate burglaries that hit most small biz around here including them. The food quality is good and the menu has an impressive variety. It's very friendly for both omnivores and vegan/vegetarians. Queso and tacos are tasty regulars for us. I've loved Tim's Tavern since back in the days when was in Greenwood. As a gigging musician I've done three shows at Tim's (one in Greenwood, one streaming show they organized during the COVID lockdown, and a recent show at their new White Center location). In my experience the people who run Tim's Tavern have always been very cool and professional: great sound and lights, a doorman who doesn't short you on the payout, and a staff that's organized and friendly. I was concerned that the great vibe of Greenwood Tim's Tavern might not carry over to a new spot. No need to worry. Everyone is nice, but they take forever to acknowledge you once you are seated outside. Once acknowledged our server was mostly absent but shoved the tip set at 25% right in my face but wouldn't let go of the machine so it was really awkward to want to switch that tip which I really wanted to but didn't, so that was a negative and did I mention super awkward! Been here a couple of times, not sure I will be back for the food. Don't get the queso, it's a gross mostly cold grainy mush of under seasoned cheese, good tortilla chips but that's about it. Should have returned it, also ordered each time was hoping first time was a bad day the first time. . . Burger was cold but fries were hot? Twice in a row. Fries were good like McDonalds but better but burger was meh and not very filling. Could be bigger and hotter. Checked out Tim's Tavern tonight and loved every aspect. From the tasteful music decor and actual live music (it was open mike night local musicians) to the best salmon sandwich in town this place is a gem. You can tell there was a lot of thought put into the new location. Can't wait to see a show on the outdoor stage with heated patio and party lights or come watch a Seahawks game on Sundays.
