Had a lovely time Monday evening meeting up with established and new friends at Tim's Tavern in the White Center area of Seattle. Tim's Tavern is an amazing establishment that has a completely separate vegan menu and offers live music or some form of entertainment on most nights. If that's not temptation for you, every Monday they offer a 15% discount on all vegan items!!! For Monday evening, we were treated to an eight round game of Trivia, with a very lively and energetic emcee, pitted against other tables/teams present at the restaurant. Did we win? Well, let me put it this way ... there were no losers as everyone walked away with a parting prize, I chose the Muppets "Animal" themed socks and my wife, "Corpse Bride". Their vegan menu is top notch, there's enough variety and decadence to rival that of any vegan menu regardless of the type of establishment. Perusing through the menu you'll find appetizers, burgers, sandwiches and hot dogs, tacos, salads, and sides. The food we tried was amazing. The Fried Cauliflower had a crispy exterior coating contrasted with a soft texture for the actual vegetable which combined, between the flavor and texture made for a delectable bite! The BBQ Pulled Shroom came with a refreshing side salad and the sandwich itself, between the tanginess of the sauce and pulled mushroom texture, truly astounding. I could go on and on but every dish we tried was equally as amazing in person as they are mouth watering and drool worthy in the pictures. Thanks so much for letting me share with everyone and I hope you're all able to make it out that way soon.

Classic smashburger and fries

Classic smashburger and fries. The fries were great, crispy and plentiful. The burger was good, but seemed to be missing something. Not sure what exactly...there may have been lettuce (can't remember), but maybe it was missing the crunch of a big slab of lettuce? Tasted good, and would definitely get again. Seemed just slightly overpriced

Stopped in for a drink during a car show. First time in this bar and we were surprised at how cute this set up was in the back. Perfect day for outdoor patio seating. We had some shots and a couple margaritas. Drinks were quite spendy for as small as they were. Staff was really nice, both inside the bar/restaurant and outside bar. Also ordered a Seattle dog and some tots. Tots were good. Very crispy fresh out of the fryer. The Seattle dog was okay, nothing special and very underwhelming. They had a stage inside and outside and some pinball machines Will definitely come by again if/when we're in the area!

OPEN MIC NIGHT Wednesday night was open mic. I love the open mic blues jams at The Eagles and also Elmer's in Burian. This was different. There is no back line. (Drums and amps) and they do not mix and match musicians. Rather it is mostly solo performances who for the most part okay guitar and sing. There was also one little girl who sang with a strained voice and played a ukulele. She must have been all but 6 years old. I wanted to tell her parents that if she keeps straining like that she will ruin her voice by the time she is 16. The food is great. I had a smash burger. But could have done without the sweet pickle chips which made the burger too sweet. I picked the off. There is a full bar with a variety of craft beer on tap. The atmosphere is eclectic and visually engaging. There is also a covered patio that is lit romantically at night. I would go back for the food and the ambiance, but I will pass on Wednesday nights. Cheers.

Place was cool! I think the only thing that kinda took one star away was standing in-line to order food from the bar soon as you walk in? I just wanna sit down order & eat I maybe a brat for the slight practicality of that but the food and ambience was amazing! They have live music that was being set up soon as we walked in. The outdoor patio is really nice, it's clean & they have a cool bar converted airstream trailer in the back that makes it a unique vibe in the outdoor patio area. The wings were good!!! I'd come back

Amazing! We arrived in Seattle late in the evening.... hungry.... Tim's Tavern was close by and so we went. The service is absolutely amazing!! And the beer... oh my heavenly goodness!!! I had the local Future Primitive IPA. So good!!!! Since it was late we ordered food from the Late Night Menu. The street tacos tasted amazing! I am so glad we found this place!!! 5 Stars well deserved!!!

There is a ton of love about this place! The food is delicious and there are tons of exciting options for folks with various dietary restrictions. I loved the beet, Yes I said beet pastrami sandwich! My wife get the real pastrami and I liked mine better. The service is great, should put to Rachel! Super on it, warm and professional. We felt welcome at every turn with everyone we talked to. The trivia night is really fun, the host is one of the sweetest people ever and handed out candy! Shout out to Ellen with Sporcle Trivia. They do live music here and we haven't gone for that but will definitely return for more tasty food, Great drinks, lovely atmosphere and good times.

Steak Tacos, $5 each, keys for size reference

I just had dinner with my friends and have mixed feelings about this place. I ordered the tacos and they were delicious. BUT they were tiny street taco sized tacos and they were $5 each and low on filling with barely cooked tortillas. So, it was a very disappointing "meal." Taco Rant time First of all, it is absurd to charge $5 for tacos that are smaller than coaster. For reference at any taco truck these are the 75¢-$2 sized tacos. Secondly, even if the ingredients are high quality and thus expensive for the restaurant there _needs_ to be a disclaimer on the menu stating that the tacos are extremely small to prepare all guests.

I can't say enough about the food at Fire Tacos. While I "always" order their award winning Chile…read moreVerde Wet Burrito, with Mango Cart beer, their whole menu is amazing. The chile verde pork is so good, my wife, who primarily orders vegetarian, goes for all their variations, quesadillas being her favorite. This weekend is Valentine's Day, and while I am not with my beloved, George and Erika shared a sample of their new menu items, chilaquiles (heart shaped for the holiday) - both chili verde and chipotle. The other item was a stack of tres leches pancakes, with fruit. While all were delicious, I liked the chipotle chilaquiles the best. Good enough to make me consider mixing up my wet burrito with salsa macha in the future. So, we just came back from Playa del Carmen Mexico, where we hoped to have some over the top Mexican food. While breakfast was great it wasn't enough to outshine Fire Tacos. A waiter at one restaurant summed it up well. Everyone in Mexico makes good food, but the best of the best succeed in the US. That is Fire Tacos. The best of the best. I rarely give 5 stars, but Fire Tacos e arnés every one!

It's so fresh and the flavoring and garnish is on point. Service was friendly and efficiency. As soon as the waiter turned away after he took our orders, the nachos showed up. The vibe is fun and loud like a usual Mexican bar/restaurant. It was a nice and warm day in Alki, an area always so crowded and can be overwhelming, on any nice warm sunny day. My daughter asked if we can try Fire Tacos because her bff said it was good. We showed up asking for a table of 4 and were told the wait is about 20 mins. We walked to Ben & Jerry next door and had a small ice cream, sat down and finished it, then got notification our table was ready. It earns a spot on my list to return, especially we live 5 mins away.

The filling taste good and the slaw were good as well. The bowl (3.5/5) Good bowl; large portion. Honestly it wasnt great and wasnt bad either. Overall Its a nice unique spot to eat at. The way the tacos are fried you can't tell what the filling is prior to digging in. The fried shells were good and crispy and they have signs everywhere reminding you to not eat the toothpicks that are holding them together but they don't slide out easily. Chips with the queso were dark and fried so crispy they were pretty hard. Queso was thick and just ok. Baklava was a very small piece for the price.

However, it still tasted like it had a really nice flavor, and had a soft interior. It being actually spicy would've moved this dish up a lot, though each taco was primarily made out of this chicken - and there was so much of it it was practically insane - but I loved this amount shoutout to the onions as well - they were great I asked for the habanero sauce - which i thought was ok - wasn't spicy at all and didn't add much flavor. will go with another sauce next time tried mixing in some taco bell fire sauce which was interesting i love that these came wrapped in aluminium foil to preserve heat. a great touch overall, as far as taste, these were pretty good, but when you consider the amount of meat you're getting, along with overall portion size - it's simply a fantastic meal.

Tonight we stumbled onto our new favorite Mexican spot…read more I was craving birria, and since one of our favorite hobbies is trying new restaurants, I asked in a local Facebook group who had the best birria near us. After lots of great suggestions, we decided to detour and head to Taco City. The moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff -- always a great start. We kicked things off with the Dip Trio: chips, salsa, guacamole, and queso. It was fantastic. The guac and chips were on par with my longtime favorite spot, the queso was rich and delicious, and the salsa had a unique flavor that really stood out. It easily could have fed four or more people. I ordered the birria tacos. They were generously filled with flavorful beef and served with equally delicious consommé. For my personal preference, I would have loved them just a little crispier -- but otherwise, they absolutely hit the spot. My favorite dining partner ordered the Taco Trio -- two carnitas and one chicken. He's an "authentic taco" guy, and he said they were fabulous. As we were checking out, our server suggested we try the nachos next time. Don't worry -- we will definitely be back. This one just jumped to the top of our favorites list.

They have…read moreeverything you could ever want at a Mexican restaurant, and many that you've probably never tried before. I knew going in that I had to try their carnitas, but it was the other dishes that impressed me the most. The quesabirria was top notch. If you haven't had one before, it's as if a quesadilla and a taco had a beautiful baby - and the tortilla is dipped in the sauce that the meat is cooked in. The cheese is plentiful and delicious, it's a blanket that I've to take a nap in. I was a bit thrown off by the chunks of birria, most places shred it up. But I would say that it was much more juicy than the shredded version, I was blown away. This comes with some awesome roasted jalapeños and onions. The carnitas taco was excellent. For a street taco, they load it up with meat. It's a very traditional taco, so just carnitas, onions, and cilantro on a tortilla. But if you have the opportunity to eat here you should, they have an extensive taco bar with everything you need. The star of the show for me was the tostada de camarón. You just don't get them like this elsewhere in Seattle. Shrimp, mango, jalapeño, and avocado are all diced up to provide even distribution on a crunchy tostada. It's an exquisite bite every time. And there's a sweet sauce on it that makes the whole dish blend together so well. Carnitas Michoacán is a MUST visit if you're in the area.
