I've loved this place forever- if you get the couch and table near the back you're blessed. With the Columbia City Alehouse closed Lottie's is clearly trying to support the community by filling the gap their menu has burgers and stadium nachos now and a projector sharing big Seattle games. Their bartenders are experts and make many cocktails that are special to Lottie's or the current annual theme. Indoor and outdoor seating is available but again that back corner spot with the couch makes you feel like royalty . They got snacks and hotdogs and burgers - they are doing so great and deserve your best. read more

Online, your Sunday hours say you're open until 1am, but we're consistently being rushed out around 10: 30-10:45pm (no last call initiated). When I asked about it, the bartender said the bar since she's the only bartender the bar closes at 11pm. If that's the case, it might help to update the online hours so expectations are clear. Also, I've observed that on Sundays, guests are often left waiting at the bar area for several minutes while staff chat among themselves (and staff friendships, outside friends) . It can come across as inattentive, especially when patrons are encouraged to tip and expect a certain level of service. I say this with respect -- if Sundays are challenging, maybe scheduling a different person with capacity and schedule flexibility could be adjusted. A little more attentiveness and clearer communication would go a long way. I genuinely enjoy coming here and just hope to see the service reflect the same level of quality as the space itself. read more

I really enjoyed my food choices of late: the arugula salad with added turkey, the cheese bread and... something else I forgot. =X Service is notoriously slow late nite, so prepare to use them wisely when they come around to you. =P A waitress I've not had before said the Pink Russian was delicious... *orders Pink Russian*... it was delicious but I wouldn't have guessed any alcohol in it otherwise. She comes back and says I could try The Beast for something stronger... hm, maybe next time. I lived in Columbia City when I was 18-20 and I was frequently a little annoyed that I was too young to go to Lottie's to relax with a cocktail and meet someone from the neighborhood. I've been "of age" for almost half a year now and finally made it over there this evening. First impression: I was surprised at how busy it was! The bar was full and at first all the tables were also full. I guess it makes sense, though, because there are plenty of homes within walking distance AND it was cold outside (with snow on the ground). So I got myself a kamikaze because that was the first drink Josh came up with when I said I wanted to try their cucumber-infused vodka(?). It was tasty and the lemon garnish had the drink tasting a bit like lemon tea. Mmmm. What a wonderful place for cocktails! Random tid-bit: One time when the man got locked out, he went to Lottie's for a couple beers while he waited for me to get home. He ended up talking to a guy at the bar, who happened to run a company doing exactly what he wanted to be doing (and happened to be looking for a new employee), and he got a new job. Pretty darn sweet if you ask me! I hope to go back someday when I've got more time to hang out and there's not such a high risk of slipping on compacted ice (in front of the door) and falling on my ass. It didn't happen this time, but it would have been likely if I stayed for another drink or two. read more

Came in here around 9pm on a weeknight, hoping to grab some food and drinks. Seated ourselves and tried very had to make eye contact with the bartender and server who were just chatting behind the counter and not helping anyone. We waited like 10 minutes, staring awkwardly at the servers and then finally gave up and left without so much as a greeting. If it were busy, I would understand- but it wasn't. They literally didn't help anyone the whole time we were there, just talked like two buddies with nothing better to do. Too bad, we would have liked to check this joint out. I can deal with slow service but this was no service. Don't think we'll be back. read more

REALLY good mixed drinks, but you REALLY have to be patient. I love the atmosphere of Lottie's Lounge. It's really easy to get to and the people are generally pretty nice. However, their service is known for being a bit on the slower side and not always the most attentive either. Whenever I want to grab drinks in Columbia City, I forget how slow their service can be so don't come here thinking you can get a quick drink. It's a snug space and the wait staff doesn't circulate very well. The bartender is also usually pretty busy and can take a while to help another customer if he or she is not talking to wait staff. I want to give Lottie's a good review. I keep coming back here every so often and hope that they will prove to me that they are taking customer feedback and making improvements or changes accordingly. But I have yet to have this happen. I recommend hitting up Super Six if you want a better experience and isn't that much farther away from the main drag of Columbia City. Hate to do it but this place only gets two stars from me. read more

BRUNCH! I just heart brunch... I get up late, will have a late night, so an actual breakfast is not really happening for me. I don't want lunch, I missed breakfast ~ it's after 12noon on Saturday and I am HUNGRY. I love eggs, any style so, I trot over to after seeing the brunch sign.... I see Chardonnay Eggs Benedict $8.50, I am a sucker for good a good sauce. Two seconds after sitting down being presented with my menu, I don't let my server go and say "I need THAT!" Sauce was generous, yolks bright and runny, meat fork tender ~ no knife required. Fresh fruit and seasoned potatoes were the accompaniments... It was a HUGE serving, I kept eating after full just to tatste it! I went over to the bar and pimp slapped the cook for that, damn him! read more

Our favorite neighborhood bar. The brunch is fantastic, I still can't figure out why people stand around waiting for brunch at Geraldine's... Menu is very vegetarian friendly, you can substitute field roast on everything. I recommend the pasta salad as a side over the chips. Happy hour offers $1 off all food & signature drinks, as well as $5 well drinks...and the pours are strong. Beer selection is pretty typical for this area: 3 Grid IPA and Roger's Pils are always on draft, as well as a rotating handle. Bottled beers include Old Rasputin, Racer 5, and PBR. But the cocktails, oh the cocktails...they infuse their own vodkas (ginger, wasabi, cucumber, etc) and have fresh juices from Juiceworks. The mojito with watermelon infused rum is fantastic. Also try the ginger vodka with strawberry lemonade. And the ginger vodka Bloody...actually, just make sure to try the ginger vodka. read more

Oh Lottie... you are sooo cute! I love your homey cozy feel... you feel more like a good ole' friend than a lounge. I love that the tables are scattered near one another and in the back is a nice nook with set up like a living area with two chairs and a couch. A nice seating area outside at the front of the lounge on the main street is a nice touch too. Full bar is nice so its not limited to just beer and wine =D My friend and I came here for drinks, but we peeked at the food menu and it offers a nice selection of nibbles that I would definitely try. They even have grilled cheese which is my favourite homey feel food dish!!! And for you breakfast lovers, they do offer breakfast which is good to know because it gives me another option in my hood! Overall, a great place to kick back and enjoy company. One drawback for me this visit was the inattentive service. However, it was a friday night and around 7-9pm so it was pretty busy. Came here this morning for post-birthday brunch (the hubs, not mine). I had a blood orange mimosa which was delightful. For breakfast we shared a tenderloin (cooked perfectly tender) over a rosemary biscuit with horseradish spread, a poached egg, and hollandaise on top. I'm neither a fan of horseradish nor hollandaise (obviously my husband's choice), yet I liked it okay and happily ate it all. If you like those things, you would probably really enjoy this dish. We also shared the cornmeal griddle cakes with apple butter and pears and some kind of heavenly pear sauce on top. Dear lord, this was amazing. Hey Lottie's, bring this one back again, wouldya? :9 Service was great, we had someone who admitted she was new, but she was helpful and attentive but not intrusive. Found this place while looking for a place to stop on the way to the Seahawks game while taking the Light Rail. Looking through Yelp I read this place had a good bloody mary and a good brunch. Did not take a lot to convince me. Lotties is a nice small place, the bartender made a great cucumber bloody mary and poored a nice Mimosa. I had the breakfeast burrito, which i was a little let down with, it was good but not great and it was served a little on the cool side, i like my meals hot. My wife ordered the Chilaquiles which was excellent, tasted like a really good enchilada along side eggs and potatoes. I think of this place as s good find and Columbia City looks like a nice place to check out. read more

This small neighborhood lounge in the revived historic South Seattle neighborhood of Columbia City is awesome. They serve up great food and stiff drinks here. I like going here for happy hour for a beer and to meet the locals. This place has a small outdoor seating area which is great for soaking in the sun (during the Summer) while watching people get mugged at the Bank of America ATM down the street. Haha, just kidding. That would've been the Columbia City of the past. Friendly people go here and there are great local businesses in this fun and eclectic community. read more

Lottie's is our neighborhood bar (even though its about 3miles from home). Awesome food, excellent drinks (good wine, lots of good beers (incl Belgians) and an amazing vibe in this old building. Great breakfast too! A true mix of people all just hanging out and having fun: men, women, black, white, hipster, conservative, young and old...just about doesn't matter what you look like, it seems everyone just likes hanging out together here. read more

I've only been here once, but I was lucky enough to be there with a local regular on a night pleasant enough to hang out in their outdoor seating area, which has to be pretty nice when the weather is even warmer. It appears that I attended on an odd evening and I was lucky that we we were intially able to utilize the chairs outside - a hour or so into my visit, a large group of ill-behaved college age kids who had been driving the regular patrons and bartenders crazy decided to take their drunken freak show on the road. Lottie's has lovely 'tenders (hot tattooed chicks much?), good drinks (I love it when you ask for an unfamiliar drink and they let you taste test it to perfection, like they apparently did for my companion before I arrived), friendly patrons and a low-key vibe that I can definitely appreciate when I just want to hit up a bar for a Stella in my hoodie and a pony tail. read more

We walked over to go to Gerladine's Counter for Brunch around 11 on a Saturday. Apparently, everyone else thought it was a good time to go for Brunch too. My dining compainion didn't want to wait, so we walked across the street to grab some food and drinks at Lottie's. Boy was I glad we did! I mean, I am sure Gerladine's is quite delicious, and I definitely plan on going back, but I really did love my Brunch at Lottie's. We both started with a beer, because, well, why not? They have a typical bar food menu full of burgers, sandwiches, and what not. But they do special Brunch specials on the weekends. The menu changes, not sure how often though. I went with the chillaquilles, and despite this not being a Mexican restaurant, it was quite delicious. The eggs and beans were just ok, but it didn't matter much since the chillaquilles was so delicious. My wonderful dinging companion loved her scramble with some field roast. They are very vegetarian friendly. I am not vegetarian, and I loved my dish. It's a cute little neighborhood spot in Columbia City, with good service, and lots of locals. Lottie's Lounge is the "Cheers" of Columbia City. Everyone there greeted each other by name. I was the odd stranger girl out. But knowing this was the gathering spot for neighborhood regulars, Lottie's Lounge cool factor increased. After my excursion at Bike Works, I decided to head over to Lottie's. I did some research beforehand and found out they had a happy hour from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. I love me some happy hour! I walk in and find myself a seat at the bar. Lottie's is small, perfect for solo diners or duos, great for intimate conversations. The bartender greets me quickly, asks for my ID, and asks what I'd like to drink. I ask for a menu and notice the happy hour prices are $2 wells, $1 off domestic bottled beers, and $2 off food. Sweet. I took a peek at the menu and decide to go with the Eggplant Parmesan Sandwich with a side of pasta salad. The menu proudly boasts they use bread from Columbia City Bakery and as many fresh vegetables as they can from the Columbia City Farmer's Market. Way to keep a sustainable community, Lottie's! After a few minutes my food arrives. My sandwich is small but I did get a heaping helping of pasta salad. I observe the sandwich before digging in and notice the bread crumbs surrounding my eggplant. Thick and crunchy. I take a bite and its just how I thought it would be. There was an even mix of tomato sauce and cheese. Nothing overpowered the other. The bread was heated thoroughly and was soft and crunchy in all the right places. The pasta was fairly basic. It had feta cheese, sun dried tomatoes, and onions. The bartender checked in on me to make sure I was doing fine. I finished and asked for my bill. The total for a Bud Light and my sandwich was $8 and change. What a deal. I enjoyed my time at Lottie's. It is a laid back bar with a fantastic happy hour with great food. read more

Well, it should be said Lottie's DID provide one of the more memorable moments of our weekend, but it was for all the wrong reasons. We were caught in Columbia City, and in need of sustenance, enter Yelp. Most times, I'm not let down, so when I saw favorable reviews for LL, I led our crafty crew through their doorway. FIRST MISTAKE: We should have grabbed a table outside, because I'm sure the weather would have left us feeling much more sunny. DOWNHILL & DOUBLE TAKES: We scanned the place as we walked in and grabbed a table for four toward the back....we didn't know it was right next to a stage. We found that out about 5 seconds later, because the rough and haggard musician must have followed us in, syncing his steps and shadowing us to not raise attention. He was followed by his groupie/agent/bouncer---this weathered ole lady was obviously already three sheets. She was whoopin', hollerin', and making requests as they both followed us in to our table. She was a happy drunk though. It was just awkward to be the only audience for these two as this guy belted some classics practically right in our ears---we gave some claps & quiet chuckles, but no tips. He actually wasn't that bad after we gave him a chance (and after a few "drinks"). In a perfect world, we probably shoulda just baled at this point. We gave up on eating. We thought we'd give this joint the benefit of the doubt and grab a drink before splittin': ANOTHER ERROR. When our server arrived we made our orders. Since this place had an extensive list of Bloody Marys, three of us went for some BMs. :) My girlfriend needed a bit of a kick (she didn't have ear plugs), so she asked for extra shot of vodka in hers. "We can't do that." [Perplexed looks all around!! ] "Huh?" The server then tried to go all mathematical on us and talk about how the ratios would be all off and the drink wouldn't be right. [Enter an awkward confused silence] We gave a group "whatever". We just wanted to get outta here at this point. Now remember, this conversation was screamed since we were right next to the entertainment. Throughout our visit, some of us tried to ask the server a question as she walked by our table (which was surrounded by a field of empty tables), but she would give a look like she heard, and keep on walking. Once again, we'd just give a group laugh, and "Really?!". Then were the drinks. My brother's Makers Manhattan was adequate, although the cherry garnish looked like a big gray booger. As for their signature Bloody Marys... ...they pretty much sucked. I mean, if we wanted spicy V8's, we coulda went to the 7-Eleven down the street. So, they don't like customers making suggestions for adding alcohol (something we would have paid for), but apparently, it seems like they don't even have alcohol in their Bloody Mary's. We imagined that the three shots for each of our drinks quietly sat at the bar looking around---waiting to be drunk by someone. At this point, we downed our V8s in unison *wishing we had ear plugs*, and then split the scene. The rest of the afternoon consisted of rehashing the comedy that is Lottie's Lounge. read more

Gives my daughter gas (she farts and yells safety and giggles - so she's actually really enjoying her doses). Me? I'm bent over, sick, fever, chills, and weirdest of all, my lymph nodes are KILLING me. My armpits hurt when I walk. But Lottie's Stiletto fixed me right up. Bourbon muddled with oranges. Medicine. But in a good way. It even gave me an appetite for a delish sausage panini and a cup of spicy Thai veggie soup. Close quarters can result in listening to funny conversations around you, or, maybe you're the one having funny conversations and people are listening to you here ;) If you're into creative cocktails, there aren't very many choices in Columbia City and Lottie's is a good choice even if it was in a more competitive neighborhood. Last night I had a drink with the base being a vodka made from apples instead of potatoes or beets. I initially shied away from the idea of it, but I was assured that I wouldn't be drinking an appletini. The vodka itself is lightly imbued with the taste of apples which made all the difference in the world. You have a fan in me. I've only had snacky food here, like the hummus plate or nuts. But my friend is cuckoo for cocoa puffs breakfast-wise. I'll need to give them a shot but since I associate them with cocktails, it'll be hard for me to mentally make the switch to come during breakfast hours. The service is very friendly here; and are interested if you like your drink or not. I appreciate that since the cocktails are around $9. But, they are worth it; no doubt. read more

I dunno a glass of Hennesy? Back before I knew any better, I rode my bike from my apt in Pioneer Square to my old job in Renton. I remember making it up the hill and looking around in Columbia City wondering where the eff was I? I wandered into Lottie's for some coffee and decided to stay. I live there now. No, just kidding I don't. One of my favorite bartenders who used to work at Studio Seven now works mornings there during the week. Nice to wander over to CC and chat with her. Lovin' Lottie's Lounge... that's what I was doing last weekend. I unexpectedly ended up there two days in a row. Saturday night I met some people and enjoyed reasonably priced yet quite stiff drinks and the company of friends. Taking a break from my aforementioned quite stiff yet reasonably priced drinks I sampled one of their signature Golden Girls themed drinks, the Bea Arthur if I remember correctly. Incredibly sweet, but interesting flavors like elderberry make it worth tasting. Sunday morning I ended up back at their Bloody Mary Brunch, not because of how fantastic and delicious it sounds, but because I consumed a few too many beverages and left my camera at the bar. Luckily they snagged it for me the previous night and I was able to smile at my Cool as a ... Mary (bloody mary with cucumber infused vodka) and not drip tears into it. Had a little breakfast while I was there. Bagel with a nice spread of cream cheese, tomatoes, onions, and capers. I'm not sure if it's every morning or just the one that I was there for, but by 1:30 they were out of quite a few menu options. I left with a good meal in my stomach, the spice of a bloody mary still kicking around in my mouth, my camera in my hand, and the smell of their kitchen on my clothes. I don't know why crowds stand outside Geraldine's across the street, Lottie's has everything you need for breakfast: coffee, vegetarian biscuits & gravy, and a side of roma tomatoes with fresh basil. You can order regular biscuits & gravy, along with other breakfast dishes made with eggs, meat and cheese, but I don't eat any of those food groups. Thus, I don't care. The staff is still learning how to find its synergy, but that's easy to forgive. After all, these things take time. read more
