Their tagline is "your favorite neighborhood art bar" which is appropriate as the bar is filled with art and decor that gets your attention. Much of the art is for sale, but definitely for someone who has a strong love for it and or deep pockets. The bar has been around since 2005 with an aim to build in the eyes of patrons for patrons. There is a fairly extensive menu of cocktails that carry a pricey tag, but are good. I simply opted for a couple Tom Collins, and it was excellent. Had me walking back kinda sideways. Definitely a gem of a drinking spot, perfect place to close out a night.

We then waited another 15 minutes before anyone came to take our order. The male server with blonde curly hair clearly seemed more interested in chatting with certain customers than serving others. After waiting so long, we ended up going inside to place our order ourselves. When the server finally approached and asked if we wanted anything, I told him my sister was already ordering inside. He simply said "okay" and walked away without any apology for the delay. The view is beautiful, but it's not worth being treated this way. Save your money and go somewhere that values its customers.

This time, we entered the shorter line like usual which was manned by a bouncer I have met over 10 times but for some reason he never remembers me. He then is telling me I need to pay, by pay, I think he is meaning the entry fee which is usually a reasonable $20. I hand him my phone and he proceeds to venmo himself (personal account) $40 as a line cutting fee. A fee I have never once payed before. I totally understand there being an extra fee to skip the line. What made me upset was the fact I've never paid this before and I have been in that line at least 10 times. Additionally, I did not like that he took my phone from my hand and paid himself the money with out confirming any of the charges with me before. Lastly, it is likely this bouncer could tell that my friends and I had been drinking and he decided to take advantage of us instead of making sure we were clear on what was happening. Overall, I feel pretty taken advantage of and very upset considering I have given this place a lot of my money in the past. The events of this weekend just honestly left me with a sour taste in my mouth and so I felt like I had to say something.

And after striking out on espresso martinis at our previous stop, we finally got our redemption here. The Nest's espresso martini ranks somewhere mid-tier for me compared to others around the city, but at that point we were just happy to have one in hand.
