Any bar with a geriatric dog guarding the cigarettes is fine by me. It helps that I got my highest score in Skee Ball. Great spot for drinks after a sportsball game.

Dive bar vibes in SODO. One bartender and a large amount of people clammering to get a drink. So intensely crowded after a Mariners game. Fun vibes here though even though it was packed. Diverse age group as well which made this old lady (lol) feel ok to be out so late at a bar. Fun times and strong pours. Loads of televisions showing movies and sports. A dart board and two bar areas. We went to the back bar thinking it would be faster, nope. No worries. The one lady bartender was absolutely killing it behind the bar. Pouring drinks like a boss! Legit fun and good times here. If you happen to be in downtown Seattle and want to have a late night beverage come here. It is a full bar with a good choice of beers on tap too. Cheers everyone and happy Yelping.

I can't believe I'm going to say this but I was not expecting Hooverville to have such good pizza! The personal pizzas are the perfect bar food for one, or to share. I thought little to nothing of this bar before I came in, and now I'll likely be coming here for a bevy or two before games or nearby shows.

I love this place and think the name is right on the nose. I'm not implying it's a dump, by the way, but it does have its own character. If you are looking for a swanky place with fancy drinks - this is not your place; and that's OK! This place is great for people like me who feel a little more comfortable in what I think may technically be defined as a dive but honestly it's lovely. The service is great and typically comes with a pretty generous pour if you order booze (I swear that has not affected my judgement at all) and everybody there is pretty nice. The location could be better I suppose but if you are going to the show across the street at the Showbox I can't recommend it enough. WAY cheaper than the drinks inside and the pizza is great too! I'm a big Skee-Ball fan as well so I've spent more money on that than I'd care to admit... overall it's a really fun place I always enjoy coming to

What a gem! Just happened to work next door to this spot when we were in Seattle for a couple of weeks. So glad we did. What a great crew. They welcomed us with open arms and treated us like old friends. I love a good dive bar. I feel like you get a chance to actually meet the peeps that make up a town. Adam, Laura, Mercedes and Shannon thanks for the laughs and the well poured cocktails! When in Seattle, Hooverville is a must!

The bartenders are amazing and security is hilarious! Drinks are priced reasonably. And its so close to the stadium.

Bartender super hateful about ordering drinks, fixated on forming a line in back bar. Super strange. Otherwise okay bar.

We also shared the combo silog which was a great way to sample more of the menu. I enjoyed the garlic rice and ilocos especially. The diner feels so cozy and homey - old photos of the owner and customers and magnets his guests left are a nice touch. Friendly and attentive service despite the busyness.

You order at the front before being seated which means food arrives shortly after sitting down. With that noted, I wouldn't return to wait that long. First visit, to try a relatively famous spot, sure. Inside is a bit tight, but conversation can be had. My friends got the lumpia-silog and bistek-silog. Lumpia was tasty, but not particularly outstanding. Bistek was dry. The beef was tough to chew, seasoned alright on the outside but likely overcooked if not old. I opted for the oxtail silog which was delicious but pricey. Oxtail Silog - for $29, this plate definitely gets a double take. After waiting in the hour line, I figured I should commit for a tasty meal. Oxtail comes in a side bowl alongside a bit of hearty broth which the rice absorbs well. Meat is tender, falls off the bone, but pulling around oxtail bones isn't the simplest, so definitely have to bite around crevices. All in all, this plate was delicious but think it comes with a huge tourist tax I've had better value for oxtail plates. Ube Pancake Stack - four sizeable pancakes. Some pictures, including my own, don't do these justice. I can definitely get behind the hype. They're drenched in a rich ube sauce and there's plenty to go around. Honestly the ube flavor is present on the pancakes, but it feels relatively faint because the sauce is extremely sweet and flavorful, minimizing the pancake taste and expanding the gap between flavors. That being said, I think I would enjoy the pancakes with less sauce (or preferably, on the side).

The sausage and egg tastes great. My only wish would be that there were more strawberries and my mug was a little dirty. Service was awesome, all the servers were so kind! The only problem I ran into was that they don't accept Apple Pay!! I find it a bit absurd because I noticed they have one of those tablets that should accept Apple Pay. One of the kind servers did inform me there's an ATM across the street but I found that a little crazy. I asked the people next to me if I could borrow their card but then they also don't even accept Amex!

Still a solid place from when I had this back in 2023 though I did oversell how packed it would be…read morewhen I came with friends here at exactly 5pm on a Saturday evening when they open, thinking that it would still be overly full or at least have a long waitlist like back then. That was totally not the case, so we had the inside to ourselves until about an hour later when seats started to fill up. Big reason why they were so full with eye-popping wait times back then? Not many seats for 2-4 people, and about 10 seats at the bar, all in a cramped yet oddly cozy interior. Their menu has changed mostly in naming from the last time I was here back in 2024, but everything I've had here thus far has still remained. One of those dishes is their kewpie burger with truffle fries, which they added a "da kids" prefix at the beginning which made me think that it was a kid's meal. If anything, the size of the kewpie burger and fries is rather small even when you add another patty onto it for extra. The burger is essentially a smash burger but it's so tasty that you forget it's a kid's size meal! The extra truffle taste on the fries makes it all the better too. Better yet, we all got this too, though only one of us opted for a single patty instead. It's not a complete 5-star experience because of the relatively hefty pricing overall for pretty much everything on their menu. My friends were ecstatic to finally try here after wanting to for so long and they too were very happy with the quality of our kewpie burgers. I can see why people still come here after so long, and we'd be back for their other stuff!
