We can't say enough good things about Georgetown Ballroom! From start to finish, this venue exceeded every expectation. The space itself is full of character and charm, which meant we didn't have to add much decor. GTB already brings the perfect vibe. Between the ballroom, theater, and patio, we had so many beautiful backdrops for every part of our celebration. The catering was incredible - our guests couldn't stop raving about the food, especially the brisket (which the chef loving tended to into the early morning hours). We also loved that we got to do a tasting beforehand, and the team was wonderful about accommodating dietary restrictions. The bar was just as great! Our specialty cocktail and mocktail were both a big hit. Danielle, the venue manager, was amazing to work with throughout the entire process. Her communication and organization were top-notch, and she was so friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible. On the day itself, Danielle and the GTB team were calm, detailed-oriented, and took care of everything behind the scenes so we could enjoy our wedding without stress. The in-house florist created stunning arrangements, which made things that much easier for us. Everyone we interacted with was warm and welcoming. My husband is quite particular about his food and he thought it was fantastic, which is saying something. The florist Danielle recommended did a gorgeous job on the chuppah, simply beautiful. My experience echoes so many of the positive reviews already said. We had our wedding here (~100 guests) and I cannot say enough good things about both the experience with the planning process and the night of the wedding. 1. The planning process: Danielle, the event manager, was organized, thoughtful, answered all our questions promptly, and gave us ample heads-up with any deadlines we might be approaching. She had a great group of vendors who she worked with (we went with one of her florist and DJ recommendations- both were stellar). 2. The night of the wedding- I heard from many friends to prepare myself for things going wrong and to roll with it - but nothing went wrong! The event staff at Georgetown took care of everything! The food was delicious (many raves about the meal and the appetizers), and the drinks were equally good (a wide range of options + our signature cocktails - the Jolly Roger and the Orange Mojito). The Georgetown Ballroom was the first venue we toured for our hunt for the perfect wedding venue, and we fell in love right away. We only toured one other venue before deciding that there was no beating this beautiful space with its eclectic and unique décor and atmosphere. You could probably get away with not having any of your own décor since the venue itself is so decked out with tons of vintage and rustic accents. They even have a super cool "Jolly Roger" neon sign that we knew we wanted to get married under. The true jewels of the venue, however, is the incredible staff. Danielle, the venue coordinator was always prompt and is dedicated to communicating with you throughout the whole process. We had an unusually long engagement (2 years) but I never got the impression that we were ever bothering her by asking questions. She worked well with our wedding coordinator and helped pull off the most perfect day. The rest of the staff were incredibly attentive, and I felt they all went above and beyond to make sure we and our guests were taken care of in every respect, and I received tons of compliments about the food we had. Nancy is super organized and had checklists and timelines and seriously I cannot say enough positive things about Nancy. Our wedding was so smooth and wonderful and honestly was nearly perfect! Had our wedding ceremony and reception here in May. We loved everything about this place. This was the only venue for us, the only venue we visited, and we couldn't have imagined a more magical day. We chose the Ballroom because it is a place with a lot of Seattle history, in a neighborhood we love, and when you first walk in and see the colorful hanging lanterns, the decor, the neon signs, it takes your breath away. They've got it all. Not only did it make our lives easier, but the quality of everything they do is amazing. From the flowers, to the food, to the decor, linens, outside courtyard games, it is impressive. We were lucky enough have a beautiful sunny day so that we could get married outside and enjoy the courtyard space, an added bonus. My husband and I picked The Georgetown Ballroom for our wedding ceremony and reception because were looking for a venue in Seattle that offers a fun, laid-back vibe and that isn't as traditional (e.g. religious or hotel settings). We were drawn to GTB because of its super interesting settings(colorful lanterns, brick walls, cool/unique decors). The venue offers different types of space that you could use to make your own event (they have 3 main areas: 1) outdoor courtyard, 2) dance floor/ballroom which could also be turned into a ceremony space as well as 3) the dining area). We also had our grandparents attending, so GTB being wheel chair accessible was a huge, huge plus for us, too. What we love about GTB is that the place already has a lot of decoration (lanterns, table/basic linens, chairs, buffet decors, brick walls, votive candles, disco lighting balls, speakers, cocktail as well as dining tables, etc) that we barely needed anything more extra to transform the space for our wedding ceremony. Of course you can always add any decor (you can bring your own or GTB has additional a-la-cart decors to help transform the space for you for a nominal charge, too). For both my husband and I who just wanted to do minimal work, this place on its own was already perfect! The only additional things we brought to the venue were literally flowers, wedding cakes, guest table assignment and table numbers! Super convenient! Lots of guests even mentioned to us how unique and how lovely GTB space was! The other plus side is that GTB has its own in-house catering service, so they are able to customize their menu to fit your style, your budget, any ways you'd like. For us, we got a cool coffee/lemonade bars (pluses to them for serving everything in cool looking mason jars!!), passed appetizer and an Asian buffet a well as a dessert corner. We were so amazed with how well their food tasted! :)~~ Best of all was their staff. Both the people in the office whom we worked with during the venue booking and the event coordination/menu selection and venue/decor setup to the wonderful team of staff, coordinator and chef who executed the event on our day were outstanding! They were friendly and super helpful. They definitely helped make our event run smoothly, impressive. Looking back, we had no doubt it's because of their experiences...and they definitely knew what they were doing! I love this place! We got a month to plan our wedding and I am SO Happy I stumbled upon the Georgetown Ballroom, but speaxilly their amazing planner Danielle! From our first call, I knew that this venue and planner were the ones. The food, the flowers and the decor were just absolutely beautiful; and the precautions they took during COVID we're just FORMIDABLE. A week and a half before our wedding indoor everything was shut down, and they turned their patio into a beautiful wonderland. Georgetown Ballroom is a fun and unique place that is definitely one of Seattle's hidden gems. It is a dedicated event space, so you probably haven't heard of it unless you've been invited to a party there. My (now) husband and I toured several potential wedding venues, but Georgetown Ballroom was the clear winner. I felt something special as soon as I walked in the door and we both fell in love with this place. Georgetown Ballroom (GB) is the perfect place to host a wedding, birthday party, or corporate event! Here are some of the reasons why we chose it: 1. Location: GB is located in South Seattle and it is really easy to get to from I-5. My husband and I live and work in Seattle, so we were happy that we found a great venue in the city. (We didn't want to coordinate a wedding located somewhere else, like the Eastside). 2. Parking: Most of our guests have a car, so we wanted to make sure that they had a place to park. GB has private parking lots that they let you use for free. (The other venues we looked at either had no parking options or it cost an additional fee). 3. Indoor/Outdoor space: GB has both indoor and outdoor space! They have two large rooms inside (Ballroom and Mission Theater) plus a private, nicely landscaped courtyard in the back. We did our ceremony in the Ballroom because they have a cool stage that we wanted to use, but there was enough space for us to do it outside if we wanted to. We did our dinner reception in the Mission Theater. We only had 100 guests, but there was enough room for up to 300 people. 4. Décor: GB has a vintage American/Asian vibe and it is nicely decorated (old suitcases, paper lanterns, etc). The only things we brought in were personal items for the guest book table and a couple of tall hurricane candle holders. (Some other venues come completely empty, so you have to spend a lot of money on décor to make it look nice). 5. Bride/Groom suites: GB has two private suites for the bride and groom. They are fully furnished and very comfortable! The suites are located on mezzanines, so you can still see and hear what is going on downstairs. (The other venues we looked at either didn't have "getting ready" areas or they offered us boring conference rooms). 6. Dance Floor: GB has a nicely sized dance floor which includes a mirror ball and an excellent in-house sound system. My husband and I took dance lessons before the wedding, so we wanted to make sure that we had a suitable place to show off our moves! 7. Food/Drink: You have to use GB's in-house catering team (except for dessert), but they are amazing! They are good at all types of cuisine (American, Asian, Mexican, etc), plus you get to do a tasting, so you can customize the menu. (It was nice not having to coordinate an outside caterer). You also have to use GB for your drinks, but this was super convenient. They have different package options and they just billed us for the actual number of drinks consumed. (This was so much easier than buying our own drinks, hauling them to the venue, and then taking home random leftovers). 8. Staff: Jerry, the owner, is a really nice guy and does a great job of maintaining the quality of GB. We enjoyed working with his entire staff (Susie, Danielle, Nancy, Angie). They were all friendly, organized, and very responsive, which we greatly appreciated. On the day of our event, I also thought the food servers provided excellent service. read more

Mission accomplished- we're married! And I couldn't' have done it anywhere else besides the Ballroom. Besides the general gorgeousness that is the Ballroom, Jerry (the owner) is a gem. A wonderful character to have at our wedding, he offered extra perks and an excitement for our wedding that as hard for other vendors to match. This place offers a load of surprises that we utilized from the beautiful jukebox, to the curtained off 2nd room, to the almost hidden up stairs bridal suite to driving off in the vintage car at the end of the night driven by Jerry himself! They are changing contracts and working structure so there were moments of confusion about what contract we were on & what was already agreed that we could do- but day of facilitators were awesome! Very helpful & offered great suggestions about how to make the event the best. There were additional costs associated with the event that we didn't originally associate: 1. Almost definitely have to buy additional insurance, even if a home owner is ready to sign 2. There are currently not enough chairs so you have to rent more (but GB puts them in the contract for $2 set-up) 3. Table space is a little limited and you may need to rent extra ($10 a piece for 8 seater rounds) Additional charges are always a bummer, but all the paying members of our wedding felt ok but that final price and know that we are lucky to have had such a special place to enjoy. An amazing space with a great industrial atmosphere, groovy lighting, and the best food you've ever tasted (seriously). My husband and I were married here and it was absolutely perfect. Susie was our main contact throughout the planning and she was very attentive to detail, offered suggestions throughout the process, and made it extremely stress-free. The only outside vendor we needed was our photographer. Seriously, that's it. If you want a DJ you'll have to provide that, but we hooked up an iPad with Spotify playlists on it and it was perfect. There is a stage for dancing/singing, a ballroom floor for dancing, a courtyard for mingling (and also where we had our ceremony), and "the mission" where dinner was served. Opt for the food stations; you will not be disappointed! I can't speak highly enough of this space. For whatever needs you have (but especially a wedding!) I came here last night for a party, and was VERY pleasantly surprised by the venue. I love love love the brick walls, colourful pops of colour throughout the venue (especially the hanging lanterns), loft with comfy couches to get away from the main party and share some intimate talk. There is also a great area for a dance floor, stage, and cocktail space. In another room a space to sit down for dinner with a stage area. Two bar areas are nicely located as well. Bathrooms are conveniently located throughout and decor throughout was excellent! I would definitely come back and most likely plan a event here! read more

The space is just stunning and was the perfect backdrop for our style of wedding. I also used the in house catering (the Willows) and they did a great job. We were sold on Georgetown Ballroom from our first meeting with Danielle, the Director of Operations. I realized instantly that I could trust her: none of the possible challenges we mentioned (3.5 month timeline, baby on the way, unusual seating configuration, etc.) seemed to rattle or faze her. She is a professionally trained chef who has opened restaurants and managed events at large venues, so she is professional, competent, calm, patient and super supportive - everything I hoped for and needed during a very stressful (and sometimes emotional) period. Everything about our day went so smoothly and according to plan. All of our parents and family live out of state, and they kept asking us how they could help. We kept telling them, "Georgetown Ballroom has it all under control. Just relax and enjoy the day!" The entire staff was friendly, sincere, and really kind and attentive to all of our guests - we couldn't have asked for a better experience. I read in previous reviews that the food was not your typical "wedding food," and let me just say: Chef Silva NAILED IT. The vegetarian menu in particular is outstanding and made selecting dishes really difficult. In fact, almost every guest I've talked to raved about how delicious the meal was (particularly the gnocchi) and how the flavors left them wanting more. One of my cousins laughed as she told me how she took it upon herself to clear all of the platters on her table just so she could request more gnocchi...only to discover it was all gone! So many friends warned us in advance that they left their own weddings hungry, but that certainly wasn't the case for us. Georgetown assigned a dedicated server to the bride and groom so that we had a chance to eat - not only dinner, but also appetizers while we were signing the wedding license and pre-ceremony snacks to settle our nerves. We are grateful for all of the hard work, time, and energy Georgetown Ballroom invested into our wedding. Quite simply, we couldn't have pulled off our wedding without Danielle, Nancy, Chef, and the rest of the team - in fact, we were a little sad when the wedding was over because we enjoyed engaging with them so much. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. We got married here last week, and could not have imagined hosting anywhere else. You know that feeling when you're hosting a big event and you feel completely prepared for something to not go to plan? At Georgetown, I highly doubt anyone ever needs to feel that way. Nancy was an absolute DREAM to work with, and her entire team was always one step ahead of me. From start to finish, GTB absolutely killed it. The space, the atmosphere, staff professionalism, the food (yummmm, I think everyone is still dreaming about the hot dog cart), and the bar were all exceptional. If you want a unique with lots of personality, and TOP NOTCH service, don't look anywhere else. I promise you won't be disappointed. read more

I booked Georgetown Ballroom for team holiday party for work, and I could not be happier with how everything went. From the initial venue tour until after the event, the level of customer service was exceptional. My contact at GTB was responsive and very helpful. I loved that everything needed for our event could be or was provided in-house - and the quality was top notch. We were able to customize a menu that met all of our needs and received rave reviews from our staff. The venue itself is incredibly beautiful and needed no additional décor - a factor that was very important to me because in previous years at different venues I had to do quiet a bit of decorating. We were also able to incorporate some games to add to the fun of the event. Our team members loved the yard games in the courtyard! The only real concern that I had going into the event was parking, which can be challenging in Seattle. GTB had that covered as well though! They have a few lots available to guests and you are able to reserve a pay lot for a small fee where guests can park when provided with parking tickets. We consider this event to have been a glowing success and are planning on holding future events at Georgetown Ballroom. read more

I recently got married at Georgetown Ballroom and it was the most amazing day ever and even more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. Danielle and her staff were absolutely incredible to work. We had to postpone twice due to Covid and she was always responsive and helpful as we were selecting a new date and making changes. They had every single precaution and option thought through so that we didn't have to worry about a thing. A week before our wedding, the mask mandate was reinstated which caused us to make many last minute changes. Danielle and her team were so wonderful working through what we could do to be safe. Initially I was upset because it wasn't exactly what I envisioned, but on the day of, I wouldn't have had it any other way. It was the most perfect day and worked out exactly how it was meant to be. Danielle was super helpful setting things up for the day for us and working with our vendors to ensure everyone was on time and had what they needed. The food was also absolutely delicious and we heard so many rave reviews from our guests! "Best food ever!" We would choose Georgetown Ballroom a thousand times over for our wedding day!! read more

I'm a happily married newlywed of just about a month and my husband and I were married here at Georgetown Ballroom. We had a great time and from what I've heard so did all our guests!! I am in-between 3 and 4 stars but ultimately some of the communication/tranparency with GTB during the planning process brought my rating down to 3 stars. The venue is fantastic, the set-up of the space with two rooms, connected by a large doorway was perfect for our 220ish guests. Ceremony and dancing on one side and dinner on the other. It was also great to have the lofted spaces above each room to use as a groom-room and bridal-suite prior to the start of the wedding. And even though we had an April wedding in Seattle and rain was a possibility it was still great to have a nice large outdoor courtyard to accomodate any smokers and to allow our guests to get some fresh air. Unique and vintag-y feel lets you to take your theme/decor wherever your imagination and budget will allow. One of the highlights for us when choosing GTB was that we could bring in our own caterer and did not have to choose from a preferred list. Another highlight was being able to bring in our own alcohol, hello Costco! BONUS: There are two bars, one in each room, when you're reaching the 200s in your guest count this is very helpful! If you do choose this venue, and I would recommend it because it is beautiful and unique, just be sure to ask lots of questions from the beginning and keep track of all the extras that you'll need to pay for. (E.G. - Gorgeous chandelier on reception side was up when we first viewed the place; I LOVED it and it went perfectly with our vintage feel we were going for, unbeknownst to me it cost an extra $250 to rent for the evening, but wasn't listed on the rental sheet nor was it disclosed to us when viewing the venue. The only reason I found out was because it wasn't up the second time I visited and I had to ask the venue about it which is when they told me it was extra $ to have the chandelier.) The venue rental fee itself isn't all that expensive, but when you're adding in the costs of chairs, tables, garbage removal, chandelier, etc. the total adds up quickly. All in all, I had the most fabulous time at my wedding and I wouldn't go back and change a thing. My recommendation: Yes, choose this venue because it's fabulous, but be aware and mindful of the details. read more

The Georgetown Ballroom is a beautiful venue. Came here for a fundraiser and was in awe of its beauty. The exposed brick compliments any theme you could probably ever dream up. It's big, can hold a good sized party/reception, has an open bar area, spacious bathrooms, a stage, and an upstairs. If I were to hold a private event here, this venue would be my first call. Where do I start? We booked our wedding for April 2020, and due to COVID, of course had to postpone. Well, the GTB let us postpone THREE TIMES without penalties or fees. They were so freaking accommodating. And that's just the icing. Venue - it's just classy. The only additional decorations we had were centerpieces. The venue is great as is. Big colorful lanterns, exposed brick walls, giant red velvet curtains... Industrial chic, maybe? Regardless, it's stylish and unpretentious. The upstairs areas that we used for bride/groom are big and comfy, couches, etc. Food - everyone gushed about how good the food was. And I loved it. Beef was cooked to juicy perfection. Two salads - green and a kale Caesar, also delicious. All the hors d'oeuvres were amazing. Shout out to twice baked stuffed potatoes. Service - out-f***ing-standing. Attentive, communicative, and really nice. They checked vaccination cards, which was relieving - they are following the governor's mandates, and though yes, masks are annoying, I prefer them to giving my 75+ old family COVID and killing them, you know? Hard yes to recommend to others. read more

My husband and I were married at Georgetown Ballroom in August 2019. WE LOVED IT. The venue is of course unique and special. The food was spectacular. There is parking for guests nearby. There is on site décor. And there is Danielle, the Director of Operations and Day-of Coordinator. I'm sure we would have loved our wedding just based on the venue, but Danielle is the reason we had the wedding of our dreams. She was always available to answer questions, make things clear, keep track of all the small details, bounce ideas of off, and make sure we were happy with everything. She's truly wonderful and we can't imagine how the day would have gone without her. There are two large rooms, one for dining and one for dancing with a bar in each room. They have a beautiful brick wall with Chinese lanterns, tons of cool vintage signs. They also have a back patio where you hold the ceremony, as we did. It was honestly perfect (though you do encounter some plane noise, which didn't bother us but did bother some of our older guests). We would pick this venue over and over again without hesitation based on the ambiance and décor alone. They have décor on site you are able to use. There are tons of possibilities if you want to get creative or if you, like I, want simplicity, they have a great baseline for decorations. The food was, simply, delicious. We had passed appetizers during cocktail hour and family style dinner to encourage guest interaction. I noticed a lot of clean plates and I myself ate as much as I could before being whisked away. We had a relatively good number of vegans/vegetarians/other accommodation plates which were all handled without any hiccups and we were told those dishes were also full of flavor. We hope to attend a wedding or some other event at GTB to be on the other end! We can't thank the whole team enough for a flawless day. read more

This is a great venue. I recently came for the Balvenie event and loved the space; two large rooms, separated by an open wall (large enough to be able to see into both spaces, but small enough to make you realize they could be used for two separate setups). They also had some outdoor space with Christmas lighting. It also looked like there might have been an upstairs, but we didn't go up there. The brick walls, the wooden doors, and all the rest of the decor added so much character to the place. I loved it and would definitely consider this venue to throw an event. read more
