Late to give a shoutout but better later than never! Highly recommend you book your wedding here. Plenty of entertaining space, beautiful antique finishes and Seattle vintage finds with a beautiful outdoor space. Danielle is an incredible wedding coordinator and made the whole process seamless and fun to plan. She was organized, flexible and patient with us. I can be an incredibly indecisive, people pleaser and she helped me narrow down my choices and center me on the day of details that mattered the most. I also appreciated that this venue and staff are LGBTQIA + friendly, they were so welcoming, and we felt comfortable spending our money at Georgetown. Food, decor and day of coordination was on point, I still have family and friends raving about the food, music and smooth transitions throughout the night. We had an incredible night, Thank you Georgetown Ballroom staff for an unforgettable night!

My uni hosted a formal social event here and as far as big empty spaces go this is a pretty good one. The staff were really kind and drinks were delicious. Music was loud and it was pretty crowded but they had some tables around and a lot of board games to play.

Best night of our lives! Getting married at the GTB was nothing but spectacular. The venue, staff, flowers, food and various spaces were all amazing. Nancy and her staff worked tirelessly to make it the best night possible. Our guests have commented that it was the best wedding they have ever attended. Highly recommended!! You won't be disappointed.

We had our wedding at Georgetown Ballroom last weekend and had the best experience working with Danielle!! She was with us every step of the way and so helpful and understanding. Our experience talking with some other vendors in the industry is they expect you to just know things, not fully understanding that we've never done this before. With Danielle and GTB we had a completely different experience. Booking with the venue (which is beautiful btw) includes so much already which is great so you don't have to deal with a million different vendors, but Danielle was incredible making recommendations and providing insight on things that weren't included. From timelines to fine details, we felt so supported throughout the whole process. The food and drinks were great and we cannot recommend hosting your wedding or event here enough!!

The Georgetown Ballroom was the first venue we toured for our hunt for the perfect wedding venue, and we fell in love right away. We only toured one other venue before deciding that there was no beating this beautiful space with its eclectic and unique décor and atmosphere. You could probably get away with not having any of your own décor since the venue itself is so decked out with tons of vintage and rustic accents. They even have a super cool "Jolly Roger" neon sign that we knew we wanted to get married under. The true jewels of the venue, however, is the incredible staff. Danielle, the venue coordinator was always prompt and is dedicated to communicating with you throughout the whole process. We had an unusually long engagement (2 years) but I never got the impression that we were ever bothering her by asking questions. She worked well with our wedding coordinator and helped pull off the most perfect day. The rest of the staff were incredibly attentive, and I felt they all went above and beyond to make sure we and our guests were taken care of in every respect, and I received tons of compliments about the food we had. Our wedding went without a single hitch and if I were to do it all again, I would still say "I do" to the Georgetown Ballroom.

    Sarena's 18th birthday

We had our daughter's 18th birthday party in this venue. All I can say is thank you to Nancy and the Georgetown Ballroom staff. You made my daughter's day so special. If I can do it again I would. The ambiance is unbelievable. Thanks again!

We had amazing wedding here few weeks back. The staff is super helpful and responsible along the way. Danielle and Nancy were very patient and answered all our questions possible. They took COVID protocol seriously and it made all our guests feel safe. The venue is amazing ! More importantly, their food is BOMB ! We had Asian station, southern station and PNW station for our guests since they are from all over the country and world. We had received super high comments on those food !! Must try their corn dog :)

My husband and I picked The Georgetown Ballroom for our wedding ceremony and reception because were looking for a venue in Seattle that offers a fun, laid-back vibe and that isn't as traditional (e.g. religious or hotel settings). We were drawn to GTB because of its super interesting settings(colorful lanterns, brick walls, cool/unique decors). The venue offers different types of space that you could use to make your own event (they have 3 main areas: 1) outdoor courtyard, 2) dance floor/ballroom which could also be turned into a ceremony space as well as 3) the dining area). We also had our grandparents attending, so GTB being wheel chair accessible was a huge, huge plus for us, too. What we love about GTB is that the place already has a lot of decoration (lanterns, table/basic linens, chairs, buffet decors, brick walls, votive candles, disco lighting balls, speakers, cocktail as well as dining tables, etc) that we barely needed anything more extra to transform the space for our wedding ceremony. Of course you can always add any decor (you can bring your own or GTB has additional a-la-cart decors to help transform the space for you for a nominal charge, too). For both my husband and I who just wanted to do minimal work, this place on its own was already perfect! The only additional things we brought to the venue were literally flowers, wedding cakes, guest table assignment and table numbers! Super convenient! Lots of guests even mentioned to us how unique and how lovely GTB space was! The other plus side is that GTB has its own in-house catering service, so they are able to customize their menu to fit your style, your budget, any ways you'd like. For us, we got a cool coffee/lemonade bars (pluses to them for serving everything in cool looking mason jars!!), passed appetizer and an Asian buffet a well as a dessert corner. We were so amazed with how well their food tasted! :)~~ Best of all was their staff. Both the people in the office whom we worked with during the venue booking and the event coordination/menu selection and venue/decor setup to the wonderful team of staff, coordinator and chef who executed the event on our day were outstanding! They were friendly and super helpful. They definitely helped make our event run smoothly, impressive. Looking back, we had no doubt it's because of their experiences...and they definitely knew what they were doing! I love this place! Thank you so much The Georgetown Ballroom team once again for helping us with our awesome wedding event. We didn't have any ideas what we were doing, but were so glad to get your help and suggestions. Most important of all, we were so happy the event turned out so well that it created a long-lasting and a lifetime memories for both my husband and I and our families and friends. I definitely highly recommend The Georgetown Ballroom to anyone who's looking for a fun venue and an experienced team of professionals who can help you create and deliver what you envision for any types of the events, be they wedding, corporate or just about any other events out there! :)

A parking lot is available but can fill up quickly, depending on the size of your event and other activities that may be going on. There is an upstairs and downstairs but the hall itself is on the main level (or upstairs). On one side of the building, there is a lounge area near the bathrooms. It is a very clean, well kept space to sit and chill out away from the action. On the other side is the gathering hall. The hall itself has beautiful wood floors and large windows. If your event requires darker quarters, the shades can be drawn easily. Right where the windows are, there is a stage that covers the width of the hall. There are stairs all the way across and two accessible ramps up each side. The stage can fit a variety of needs and they have a podium and other tables that can be set up there, depending on your needs. I've been to most events where round tables are used. Other sets can be with chairs only. There is a sink on each side of the back of the hall as well as areas to hang coats, which I think is a necessity in Seattle. The staff is fantastic! They are flexible and easy to work with in order to meet your needs. I have to say that aside from having things set according to a floor plan, they recognize that it is possible you may have last minute changes and are very accommodating. Before you enter the hall, there is a hallway that can be set as a check-in area. I find that really helpful as people don't get clogged right inside the doors. If you're looking for a facility, you should consider NewHolly. They have tons of information on their website about cost and such. A great facility run by great people. Who could ask for more?

Oh, Seattle Design Center...so much potential as a wedding and large event venue. Yet, so poorly…read moremanaged. Let me explain. We had a beautiful wedding at the Seattle Design Center in May 2012--both the ceremony and the reception in the Atrium (the largest room). The venue is gorgeous--ridiculously high ceilings, full of skylights that bring in natural light, neutral tile flooring, a gorgeous grand staircase--part of the second floor balcony. The square footage is enormous and could easily hold 500 people if you wanted to. The BIGGEST PERK of the SDC: you can bring in your own caterer. That, and it's quite reasonably priced compared to other Seattle venues that would hold 200 or more people The biggest downside: the people who are supposed to be helping you plan your wedding in fact know next to nothing about the wedding business--they are managers at Molly's Salads, the daytime food cart! After booking the SDC officially in April 2011 (13 months before our wedding), our SDC "wedding coordinator" changed THREE TIMES. That meant we had to connect with the newbie each and every time to make sure they could accommodate some of our special needs, like having a small religious fire for our ceremony (don't ask). And also confirming (again and again) the rehearsal time and date, as well as where the bridal party would have space for changing and storing stuff. Needless to say, we had to be very proactive in dealing with the SDC and made sure to get everything in writing. They provided very little outside of signing the contract and some tables and chairs. If it had not been for our stellar wedding planners of Blue Ribbon, this event could never have happened. Thus, I am torn--the SDC is a stunning venue, but really needs to focus on event management and hiring people who know what they are doing.

I've booked two fundraising auctions at SDC, and am about to sign a contract on a third. As the…read moreother review mentioned, they had some turnover, but since last Fall there has been one person in charge of booking, Jenifer, and she is GREAT. The rest of their event staff, the people who are on-site managers during the event, are amazing, too: they helped us with everything from weird electrical stuff to dimming the lights for the video portion to moving stacks of chairs over and over as we got the tables set up, and stayed to the bitter end as our worn out staff and volunteers cleaned up (they clean up their own tables and chairs, we rented additional tables and catering-ware which we had to secure for pick up). Both of our events there looked stunning, and our constituents (who have been to many venues over the years) have only given us positive feedback on the move. Plus it's reasonably-priced AND has its own parking lot. I think this is one of the best venues in the city, and I look forward to putting on more events there in the future.
