Within Sodo is one of a kind venue. We held our wedding in the fall of 2025 and it was the most romantic evening. The many rooms you can rent allow you to truly create an evening that is filled with adventure and surprise throughout the entire night. MANY of our guests commented on how they were so impressed with the space and all the different kinds of vibes it can give off. Kate was wonderful to work with, and the fact that they allow you to do a walk through with your vendors as many times as you would like throughout the wedding planning process was MAGIC!! We were able to visit with different vendors and get a true idea of how we could customize the space to our personalities as best as possible. On our wedding priorities list-finding a venue that we loved, felt connected to, and fit our "vibe" (we called it playful modern? Idk, lol) was the highest priority and the first wedding planning task we took on. We live in Seattle and wanted to get married in the city, and were drawn to industrial type venues. I think all in all we toured 15 venues across different Seattle neighborhoods-a handful in the Sodo neighborhood- and ended up choosing WithinSodo for it's versatility in space, it's already existing beauty (hint-budget brides- you really don't need much additional decor unless you really want it), the welcoming staff, the easy kitchen for caterers, its size being large enough for our group but small enough to still feel intimate (we invited 200, 140 showed) and the opportunity to have some outdoor space on our wedding day. Even before our wedding day, each time we waked into the WithinSodo space we felt butterflies, the energy is really something you can't see or touch but you can feel it and we loved it. While needing to use the in house bar at first felt like a con because it can be more expensive than doing it on your own-in the end became a pro as the ease of having everything taken care of by talented professionals (our drinks were amazing, the bar staff even worked with us to create a secret cocktail on the menu) was well worth it-and the cost was much lower than we expected given our friend group of happy drinkers. We just loved everything about spending our wedding day at within Sodo from the ambiance and the slow reveal of different rooms in the space and especially the rooftop dance party and we'll be forever grateful that we chose this space. Kate. We can't review WithinSodo without gushing about Kate, which feels truly evil because not everyone will get to work with her in the same capacity as we did. Sorry everyone. Kate is the venue representative but happened to be filling in for the on-site day of coordinator to plan and execute our wedding day while WithinSodo was going through a coordinator staffing change. However, we have to elaborate on how lucky we feel to have been placed with Kate and how lucky you'll be to have Kate play ANY part in your wedding day as part of the WithinSodo team. We were able to completely relax and enjoy our wedding day because Kate worked so hard and so efficiently leading up to it and the day of the wedding. Kate's astute attention to detail got us thinking about aspects of our wedding day that we hadn't even considered, and through the answers she gleaned from her thoughtful questions she knew exactly what was important to us and where we were more flexible. She got to know us, our story, and our hopes for the day so well and by the time the wedding day came we trusted her without reservations to solve problems, make decisions, and execute the best night of our lives so that we could be present. As a wedding client you have unlimited virtual or in person walk-through sessions at the venue as you're planning, and we found ourselves taking every opportunity possible not only to come see the space in person but to spend some time with Kate. Her professionalism is 10/10 but in a way that still leaves her completely approachable and fun to be around. Kate-we know that you moved mountains for us on and before our wedding day and we will never forget the love and care you gave to us. We just received a sneak peek of our wedding video and Kate makes a tiny appearance and our hearts bursted with joy when we saw this because she became so cherished in our wedding memories. While she was in the background making everything happen she was very much in the foreground of gifting us calmness, confidence, and reassurance on our wedding day. Love this event venue! Came here to attend a Whole Foods event and was floored by how well this space accommodated all the vendors! There was a lot of space to walk around and seats in almost every room for you to take your samples of food and be able to sit and enjoy! Parking is a little bit tricky as we were only able to find street parking but aside from that, there is a large sign outside that says "within sodo"! Cozy, warm lit environment with some posh accents! Would totally love to attend another event here. read more

It's been 8 months since I've gotten married at this venue and a long overdue reviewing is needed. Overall experience here was pretty good, there were some hiccups in communication with the site but in the end it all worked out. The venue itself does not need much when it comes to decorating, the open space, the modern industrial look has its appeal, this building itself is beautiful. I had some floral and greenery here and there but no need to spend so much on the extras. We used every space minus the rooftop, but no need when you're having a November wedding. The newest edition, The Lobby was my favorite room (I had guests arrive from the 1st Ave side and they were greeted with champagne as they walked in). Then the Mirror Room, where I had my cake and desserts set up. If you plan on having a wedding with 100 guests or less, I would definitely check this place out. But once you go over that point it gets a little crowded, I had about 120 guests and that was definitely pushing it with my setup. Only reason why I am giving it a 4 star rating is because the miscommunication here and there was stressful and the last minute change up on my onsite venue coordinator was unneeded stress on the day of rehearsal. We had originally planned for WithinSodo for our ceremony and reception, but then Covid hit and we had to change plans. We were so stressed out about how this was all going to work out, but WithinSodo was by far the easiest vendor to work with. They gave us lots of options and flexibility, and we ended up having an initiate 25 person ceremony and it was amazing. The venue itself is so unique with all of the rooms; you honestly barely need any decor if you want that industrial look. The rooftop, lounge, and mirror rooms are a dream. Kate was so amazing with her communication, working with us, and even helping out so much on the day of (we had let go of our day of coordinator so this helped so much). Kate even gave us some glasses of champagne to help ease our minds. Thank you to Kate for creating such a memorable day! We are planning on holding a reception there once things are safe! read more

My husband and I were married there in August, 2019. The venue was perfect, and exactly what we wanted. We rented the rooftop deck, and the two lower banquet rooms. The rooftop area is gorgeous as is, with very little needed decoration. The reserving process with Kate was super clear, and helpful. Working with her about options, bar, coordination, etc. was seamless. Kate worked with us on bar services, our budget, what furniture that they had vs what we would not need, etc. The only area for feedback would be the day of. The day of coordinator was a person who I never met before (nor even saw the day of), and was a little challenging to communicate with. My florist was on-site throughout the day to set-up, and shared that there were a few vendors there not for our wedding, and were doing a walk-through. I never really found out what that was about, or if someone was at the wrong space, but when I talked to the coordinator, he didn't have any kind of explanation or didn't seem like he knew anything about it. It was a little frustrating that my friend was the one who spoke with the other people, and inform me. Would have been helpful if he had been a more clear communicator. I did not have a day of coordinator, so you likely would avoid any potential miscommunication if you have your own person. Overall, lovely space, lovely people and exactly what we wanted! Just to start off, I'm not sure if I should review the venue or the event? Looking at this super cool, kitschy warehouse venue, I love the fact that it's in a "district" that is very unassuming! Finding the entrance itself is just part of this experience, if you've never been here before. Once you walk in past the warehouse doors, the venue is only as great as your imagination! The sectioned areas are great for "station" type activities. The bonus is the upstairs rooftop area where you have amazing views of downtown Seattle on a clear day, let alone a night, as we were fortunate enough to enjoy! I'm not sure how many were at my sold out Whisky Jewbilee, but although it seemed like a lot of people, we were still able to move freely and experience the whiskeys that were 'must taste' and then some. After a few hours imbibing, having the last hour on the rooftop was a dream respite! There was plenty of seating and again, the closing venue views were the perfect ending to a great evening! If/when I need a large venue like this, I will definitely have WithinSodo in mind. March 2019, my nonprofit youth rugby club held their annual fundraiser at WithinSODO. The venue is beautiful and the staff was amazing. This was the perfect rustic venue for our event and the price was very reasonable. Kate and Adam are amazing people to work with and made planning the event and the night of our auction a really enjoyable experience. If you want to be remembered for throwing the COOLEST party, you throw your party here. I helped throw a going away party here in August and it was the best party ever! We didn't get catering but we got a food truck and a photo booth! Our guests were amazed by the modern space and awesome view of the city from the roof. It's the perfect spot to view the sunset. The booking manager was also very easy to work with and always got back to me with details and answered all my questions. This place is truly one of a kind in Seattle. I love this space! I attended an event here and fell in love. Upon arriving on the backside of the building, it doesn't look like much. Actually, it looks like industrial buildings on a gravel road. The minute I walked in, I was transported to a different world. There are a number of separate spaces that can be sectioned off by sliding doors. In one of the larger rooms, there's a rather large fish tank that's fun to watch. Another space has a number of cool mirrors that was being used for a photo booth that night. The lighting that night was rather low, which I assume is what the hosts wanted. I would have loved to have it a bit brighter so I could take in the space fully. A short flight of stairs takes you up to the roof. There was a fire burning and a few places to sit. A bar was set up and a friend and I sat on the roof talking, looking out at the night sky. I only wish the building were taller so we could see more. If I were getting married, this would definitely be close to the top of my list. read more

I cannot overstate just how awesome our experience with WithinSodo was. The venue is gorgeous, with so many cool rooms - each with their own unique feel and usefulness. It was perfect for our wedding / anniversary event! We started planning our event way back in early 2020 and had to postpone because of COVID. Kate was incredibly accommodating - she kept us well informed of all the regulation changes and updates that impacted our event through our difficult decision to postpone through to our eventual party a whole year later! Any changes we needed (of which there were MANY over 1.5 years :) ) were always met cheerfully and any impacts were communicated well. Her connections to other vendors also helped us immensely when it came to planning for some of the more unique features of our event! My wife and I want to plan another event just so we can work with Kate and the team at Within Sodo again! I would happily recommend Within Sodo to anyone looking for a great space to hold your event. The space itself is absolutely stunning and does not need much added for the perfect mood. We rented all of the indoor rooms. We loved how each room had its own style and how they all were different. We used the Lobby for our cocktail room where we had passed appatizers, the gallery for our ceremony, and then the ballroom and lounge for dinner and dancing. We had a total of 95 guests and it felt like the perfect amount of space. We loved working with Kate throughout the planning process. She was very accommodating and helpful. Their bar service and bartender were also very efficient and spot on on the day of. The only thing that was a little worrisome is that they were doing some construction on the front door when we arrived to set up. They got done in time and everything worked out but it did seem a little odd for last minute fixes during our paid set up time. We held our wedding reception here and it was lovely. There were some minor communication snafus the day of, but nothing major that really impacted our day. The venue itself has a lot of mixed materials that make it a really charming, interesting space. Lots of exposed brick and wood and lighting that give all of the rooms a comfortable glow, which can be tricky in a space that large. Because the venue is so visually interesting already, we hardly added decorations--we had ivory table cloths and wildflowers on all of the tables. We had a few other decorations here and there, but otherwise we didn't add anything. It was beautiful! We had about 200 people at our reception, and decided to just rent out the entire venue relatively last minute. Initially we were just going to use 3 of the spaces, but because the venue layout is somewhat choppy we decided to just rent the whole thing to make planning easier. It was worth the money. Our guests loved the space, and so did we! While we won't be having another wedding, we will definitely consider WithinSodo if we ever need a large event space again. read more

Went here recently for a beer fest event and wow, I can see why this place can hold an event for weddings (upon reading other reviews). This place is very spacious and each room/area has so much space that no one should really feel like they're in a small location. (Obviously if it's holding a beer fest event that had plenty of room to even place adult games lol) Upstairs has 2 little room area for private minglers so I thought that was pretty cool. We also got to go up to the top floor towards the rooftop but because the sliding door was locked, I was still able to take a peek outside. I seen the large fireplace area, lights hanging lots and lots of space that I was totally imaging a wedding party happening at the moment. Pretty cool place even though parking sucks but it is sodo lol. We ended up parking right on 1st Ave and cutting through a parking lot to get to the venue. read more

Recently got married here and dealing with the staff and management here was an absolute NIGHTMARE. They are "great" in the beginning but after you book with them you will see their true colors. Lots of broken promises and lies about what will happen on the day of my event that NEVER happened. It's all business with them and they don't care about their clients. Ugh. I very nearly had WithinSodo as my wedding venue. As I type this I get little pangs of remorse -- because if money was no issue I so would have had my wedding here and I'm sure it would have been fantastic. Let me just say -- this place is GORGEOUS. Yes, I guess you could call it a sort of revamped industrial space, but it comes off as way more polished than that. Gorgeous woods, exposed brick, fun "green rooms", a giant kitchen, not to mention the upstairs HEATED and partially covered patio with a view of downtown. Everything about this place -- from the fish tank to the mirrors to the lighting has been set with ultimate care and a level of aesthetics that make this place a beyond belief beautiful and functional venue. You can rent out one room, or all of them depending on your needs. Brian -- the venue manager is an absolute breeze to work with. Quick with responses, ideas, what have you. The only downside was really the price, which -- for those of you looking to host an event on a budget isn't really all that bad. Rooms from $750-900 (which of course, add up the more rooms you choose). They also do not have on site tables, chairs, what have you which was an additional price tag which swayed our choice elsewhere. That said, Brian has a list of vendors from catering to decor that can help make your event exactly what you want. (Extra bonus -- open catering and alcohol here, so you can get what you want!) So lovely! Would have been so nice! But this girl is on a tighter budget so i'll look wistfully on to WithinSodo and recommend them to anyone who may ask. read more

My husband and I got married here and we are so happy that we were able to book this venue. Brian was easy to work with and always provided quick responses (he very nicely handled the million questions we asked, I'm sure we were annoying!). The place was perfect for what we wanted. Our ceremony started at 6pm and the Mariner's first pitch that night was at 6:10pm... fortunately, parking wasn't an issue. I know that a few people got caught in traffic (we gave everyone we could a heads up that there was a game though!). We loved and really appreciated that we could have any caterer that we'd like (we used The Box - food truck... highly recommend them!). Many of the venues we looked at had preferred vendors and the catering costs wound up way out of our price range. One initial downside was that we had to coordinate the rentals... tables and chairs. Other venues we were considering already had them available - but we liked Within the most. Everything had to be out by the end of the night and most rental places charge a mighty extra for late night pick ups. Fortunately, we found Stellar Event Rentals who was super reasonable and great to work with. So that downside didn't end up being too bad... just one more thing we to had to coordinate. I wish the venue would have been more flexible in letting us get set up in the morning without charging extra. I understand that they would have to have someone there and pay for that person's time - so I get it, I don't blame them. Other venues we looked at were more flexible about it, it just would have been really nice. Everything worked out great so it was not a big deal. Beautiful venue!! Amazing venue! We had our wedding here and from the moment we walked in we fell in love with the space. There's so much variety in the different rooms that you can really be creative in how you design the layout and the space is so beautiful inside that we really didn't even need to do much decorating at all! Kate was our go-to person and she was so helpful and communicative through the entire process, especially helping us navigate some extra precautions that we wanted to have in place during the omicron surge. What an awesome event space! I've been here twice in the past week for different events and loved how the space can transform for whatever party you're looking to host. Tucked away in SODO it's not the easiest spot to find but once you're here, there's no going anywhere else. With a full kitchen, bathrooms, green rooms, two separate bars, a massive fish tank, a sound system, and a massive outdoor patio, this space has it all. Ideal for weddings, corporate events or just large parties, Within Sodo is a great new(ish) addition to Seattle. We held our wedding reception here and couldn't have been happier. The venue alone is full of character and is such an unexpected spot of beauty in an unassuming space in Sodo. From our first site visit, we were drawn in by the opportunity to secure a space that we then had free reign to customize, and even with relatively minimal cost we ended up with a totally personalized and magical feel for our reception. We rented two of the three downstairs rooms and the rooftop deck, and we were fortunate to have a gorgeous evening that allowed for cocktails overlooking the city as well as a space for our guests who didn't want to dance later in the evening could hang out and chat. The 12-hour rental window allowed plenty of time for our caterer and other vendors to set up in advance and to tear down at the end of the evening (our reception was approximately 5:30-11pm). While it did take a bit of extra coordination on our side to rent everything (including tables, chairs, linens, silverware, additional lighting, etc.), I have to say that having the ability to use any vendor we wanted as well as to provide our own alcohol more than made up the extra logistics. Brian was fantastic to work with - a very calm but professional guy who was responsive to emails and also responded to our requests for a couple of onsite visits with our band and caterer. This truly is a gem of a location and you really can't miss - just hope for good weather to enjoy the rooftop if at all possible! read more

We really did not want to choose a typical wedding venue for our nuptials. A place with "package deals" or "preferred vendors" just doesn't fit our style. We wanted a place that would allow us to fully customize our experience and simply act as a great blank canvas. We couldn't have found a better match than Within Sodo. This place has great bones. From the brick walls to the concrete floors... up to the spectacular deck that boasts views of downtown... it makes my eyeballs happy. We were able to attend an event here hosted by Bamboo Beats and really enjoyed being able to see it set up prior to our August wedding. There was plenty of space indoors and out for everyone to party, drink, dance and ogle the space. Brian has been awesome to work with both via email and in person. This venue is AH-MAZING! We were originally planning to book this place for our triple birthday celebration, however both dates we were looking at were booked (people trying to avail of the grand opening deal). It's huge, you can accommodate up to 300 guests using the entire venue which includes a deck with it's own fireplace! The place has been rebuilt to satisfy modern tastes, and yet still manages to keep its old world charm (think brick walls). It has a catering kitchen and has full audio and visual capabilities. It's in SODO, right across Republiq/Havana and is accessed through the alley, so there's tons of free parking. This place is in the same building as The Loft- another event space under the same management. If you are trying to book this place, call Brian- he's really laid back and willing to cater to most requests. read more

We booked WithinSodo (Lounge, Ballroom, and Rooftop) for our May wedding and it could not have been more perfect. We had about 105 guests, a food truck, and brought in all of the decor. The venue layout was ideal for long farm-style tables which made for an intimate setting and the bare bones of the venue require minimal to no decor. We received so many compliments from our guests about how the venue was unique and gorgeous -- it fit the industrial-boho vibe that we were going for perfectly. Working with Kate and Adam was seamless, even when I asked to do a couple extra space walk-throughs with my day-of coordinator (thanks again!). It absolutely set the tone for our "cool but low key" wedding. There are few venues like it and the price is not outrageous. Brian is easy to work with and responsive to questions and concerns.
