I'm…read morenot going to lie, I am picky; I specifically wanted a large, open, indoor space with natural light, and minimal furnishings - ultimately, a blank canvas. Just something neutral, classy, and easy to work with my vision for my wedding. Apparently I was asking too much, because every other typical wedding site was $3000+ to rent, required you to use their vendors (boooo), had hideous carpet or tapestries, or their coordinators liked to ignore me. Then, in a final search of desperation, I found a link to Great Hall at Green Lake. It was meant to be. Nelda was super prompt in responding to me (major cookies and points here), friendly, and didn't just want to throw numbers at me. My fiance and I scheduled a tour of the place and Nelda showed us every nook and cranny, and was more than happy to answer all of our questions. Very reasonable rental prices (in comparison to all the other wedding venues out there) and Nelda is very up-front about any optional/additional costs. I am not a bridezilla, but I do expect a professional attitude and level of interest from someone acting as a vendor on one of the most important days of my life, and I am happy to say that thus far, the communication process and tour of the space has been perfect; I cannot wait to have my wedding here next spring, and I will surely return with another review.

I also really liked that it got a lot of natural lighting in the building. We initially wanted an outdoor wedding but being in Seattle, that was too much of a risk to take even in the month of August. We were initially concerned that it would be too hot and that we would need to rent air conditioners but it was pretty cool outside that day so we did not need to. They also had some large portable fans on the stage if needed but we did not need them on our wedding day. The staff was very hands-off. We scheduled a tour twice and sometimes it seemed like they were not expecting us. I think it was because someone was on their way out of the job and some things needed to be communicated. They were very flexible about letting us come in to look at the place for a second time with our wedding coordinator and set out chairs and tables to see what it would be like, they basically left us alone and said we could leave whenever we were finished. They have one larger room upstairs to be used as a bridal suite, and then one smaller room downstairs that seemed too small to be a second bridal suite. I ended up letting the groom/groomsmen get ready in the main, larger bridal suite, then us ladies got ready at my friend's house, and then we told the guys to leave when we were on our way and that worked out pretty well. I had about 120ish people at my wedding and it was pretty tight when the tables were out, like my husband and I could barely walk across to get to our table and people had to stand and scoot in. During there ceremony, it was perfectly fine. The main thing that was an issue for me is that they do not have a dumpster that we could use and expected us to haul our own trash out after the wedding reception. They charged quite a lot of money if we were to leave trash for them to dispose of. I think that was the most stressful part, and they also said that we can't dump garbage in the neighboring dumpsters. This was the only reason for me taking off one star. Otherwise, I loved this venue for my wedding!

The house and grounds can probably accommodate up to 150 people. Parking at the house is limited, so it's best to plan on offering valet parking for your guest. There is ample parking at the bottom of the hill under the Magnolia bridge. Inside the house, you'll find several rooms, including a bar and fireside room, as well as a large dining room with a dance floor. Outside, a circular driveway around the house offers access to an amazing view looking north over the bay. You'll look past the marina where the cruise ships dock to downtown Seattle and Mt. Rainier beyond. Voted best new place to have a wedding in 2014 by Seattle Magazine!

We were able to visit with different vendors and get a true idea of how we could customize the space to our personalities as best as possible. The space itself is full of character and charm, which meant we didn't have to add much decor. GTB already brings the perfect vibe. Between the ballroom, theater, and patio, we had so many beautiful backdrops for every part of our celebration. The catering was incredible - our guests couldn't stop raving about the food, especially the brisket (which the chef loving tended to into the early morning hours). We also loved that we got to do a tasting beforehand, and the team was wonderful about accommodating dietary restrictions. The bar was just as great! Our specialty cocktail and mocktail were both a big hit. Danielle, the venue manager, was amazing to work with throughout the entire process. Her communication and organization were top-notch, and she was so friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible. On the day itself, Danielle and the GTB team were calm, detailed-oriented, and took care of everything behind the scenes so we could enjoy our wedding without stress. The in-house florist created stunning arrangements, which made things that much easier for us. Everyone we interacted with was warm and welcoming. GTB is very LGBTQ-affirming, and worked seamlessly with our other vendors. We're still getting compliments from guests about how beautiful and effortless everything felt. Georgetown Ballroom truly gave us the wedding of our dreams.

With a rooftop, and outdoor space on ground level there is a lot of variety - and convertible space for room transitions from event to dance floors. Work with your designers to highlight the modern elements and you'll do well, simple decorations provably shine here over others. The only downside side is the location where the scenery is industrial histories and not as great except on the rooftop. Great cheap parking for the event nearby.

One of the most important things for us was finding a venue "that had a space for everyone" and that's EXACTLY what the Foundry provides. You wanna dance? It's an AWESOME dance floor. Need a breather? Check out the courtyard or the rooftop. Want to be involved but just watch? There are various side-rooms and balconies to check out the action. Of course, another huge pro is that catering is provided in-house, so it made that part of the process so much easier. We also used their list of recommended vendors, all of whom are familiar with the space, and it made set-up on the day of the event an absolute breeze. We do need to respectfully acknowledge that communication with the venue was... a little suspect at times. They experienced a lot of turnover over the past year (as well as some pricing changes), and while we were ultimately very happy with our experience, we hope they can get back to some consistency so that all couples and events get a smooth experience! (A special shoutout to Brittany who stepped in for our last month and really brought things home for us, thanks friend!!) Two things I did not like:…read more1) they only let you have a rehearsal for an hour between 9 to 4 weekdays which meant anyone working normal business hours or coming from out of town could not make it. 2) Joanna interrupted me during the reception to go over the credit she was giving me. We had scheduled an hour at the end of our rental for clean up (which was plenty of time since we did not serve food) so I don't know why she felt the need to interrupt me during a busy hectic time for something like that.

The highlight of working with this venue is Joanna. She is so incredibly warm and welcoming and focused on creating the event you want. She was available all the time and always answered emails and phone calls promptly. She is flexible and happy to meet and show you around and walk the grounds with you. She also suggested my amazing planner, Julia Pavlovski of Wedding Wise Seattle, and for that I am forever grateful (sorry, shameless plug, but it really was such a great recommendation). When I arrived to Robinswood on the day of, overwhelmed by everything that was going wrong (sooooo many things went wrong) Joanna saw me and gave me a giant hug and it really reassured me that she and the team were going to make sure everything in their power went perfect. And they did. The space is intimate. They say that they can fit over 200 people, but I wouldn't suggest it for over 100-125 as I feel you'd be quite cramped. We wanted an outdoor wedding and as it rained (even though the forecast was only 10% chance!!) on our big day, having the log cabin and awnings was a great relief for ourselves and our guests while the teams were prepping the reception area. The grounds are unique. I am actually a huge fan of the flow from ceremony garden area to cocktail/dancing area to reception area. It kept everyone organized and in one place. Additionally, their staff for day of is really great. We got compliments about the bartender and serving staff. I would say the things to be aware of is a lack of flexibility on their policies. Their policies are their policies and there isn't wiggle room, so if you were hoping to work with a specific caterer who isn't on their list, or serve liquor, or do a sparkler send off, etc be prepared to nix those ideas. In a way, it actually does make it easier for a bride to make decisions by narrowing down the options (trust me future brides, a million options is not always a good thing), but for people who have a very very specific idea in mind, talk to Joanna about those specific ideas before signing your contract to ensure detail you have in mind is allowed. Over all, we are very happy with Robinswood House. It was great for our perfectly imperfect day!

I have come to the Innis Arden Clubhouse over the years since the 1990s for a variety of events…read moresuch as the annual Rummage Sale (conceptually similar to a garage sale), swim team events, meetings, community events, rentals and parties, and voting as both an attendee/participant and as a worker. When I was very young, we're talking about 5-6 years old, my parents came here to vote physically at the voting stations and turn in their ballots. This is where things got exciting as a kid. They gave us each thick paper (more like cardboard) ballots and the devices to punch our votes into the ballot, yeah none of the fill in the circle etiquette of today. Punching in our 'pretend' ballots was fun and perhaps the best part about voting at the Clubhouse was that we got to see our friends, neighbors, community members, and other people when we went to vote. Still view this as a better system than the impersonal absentee ballot and dropbox approach of modern times. Physical voting stations are a reminder that what one is voting for affects real people other than oneself and the communities we live in. In terms of layout, there is a kitchen, a larger room where tables and chairs can be set-up, a closet area, entry way, and restrooms. The Clubhouse is a large venue space with an outdoor patio with metal picnic tables on the backside facing a playground and a basketball court. The frontside of the Clubhouse faces the street. A large stone with "Innis Arden CLUBHOUSE" on it is visible from the road in front of the Clubhouse. Parking is shared with the adjacent pool, play area and field, and tennis courts so if there is a lot going on at these locations parking may be difficult to find which may mean needing to street park one's car a ways away and walk to the Clubhouse. I live about a third of a mile to half a mile from the Clubhouse depending on the route taken and have typically walked or arrived super early to park my car if coming during busy times.

We were allowed early access as the room was available earlier than our scheduled time with allowed us extra set up time. We loved the size of the room, kitchen facility and access to the outdoor area. They inspected the facility after. We received compliments on the cleanliness of the room and an apology and an oversight. The patio had been pressured washed and windows cleaned prior to our event. They noticed areas along the bottom of the glass that were splattered - they apologized and refunded a portion of our cost. Very professional support and services.
