Board game bars are life :D We swung by The Lab at Ada's for a quick drink before dinner. I love the cozy, alchemy witchy theme. Staff are absolutely lovely too! When we stopped in early Friday evening, we were welcomed in warmly by the staff. The space is furnished with elegant furniture and spotlessly clean. There was a DND campaign starting up in their bookstore next door that our bartender offered us to join (totally would if we had more time!). RASPBERRY SHRUB: Sooo tart and refreshing. You can really taste the raspberry. Glad they have awesome non-alcoholic options! I stole a few sips of my friends' drinks, all of whom shared high praise. During our time, we tried a new board game "Stitches", which was as entertaining as it was convoluted LOL. Would love to come back! read more

This is a very cozy, quaint and fun. They have a good selection of books and I enjoy the technical slant in terms of the categories, while still offering a variety of books to suit everyone's taste. Speaking of taste they are also a cafe with some cafe seating. It's an interesting and quiet place to read or finish up an assignment with a coffee. The addition of technically oriented toys and tools is also a nice touch. I love dropping in here when I'm in the neighborhood and suggest you do the same. read more

I recently co-hosted a professional networking/speaker panel event at The Lab, and it was an total success. From start to finish, CJ was there for us. Pre-event communications were easy and she was great with offering clarifications when we had questions, in a timely manner. The structure of the pricing allows for some flexibility with regard to providing food, which was really helpful for us as we were on a tight budget and were able to host our own food rather than use the catering options. But the catering options offered were really great! I've actually had the food from their catering partner at other events at the Lab, and it was delicious. They have a licensed bar, and you can choose to run it as cash or hosted. It's not possible to bring your own alcoholic beverages in order to adhere to their licensing, but this was not a problem for us as the bar was perfect for our purposes. The drinks were DELICIOUS and so well-crafted. Our guests really enjoyed the simplicity of the menu and the variety of options. CJ and Jacob were gracious and friendly bartenders, and had a great energy. During the event we had to pivot our plan for not having a microphone available, and on the spot Jacob was able to connect us with a microphone and that went seamlessly. This is a lovely space for a personal event! We wanted a space that was low key, unique, furnished, cozy, with delicious food. No big deal. Our guest list was small as we had about 35 guests make up our event. We had been searching for awhile and visited a lot of local spots, but the decor and the ambiance of this place definitely wooed us. We met with the chef ahead of time to sample the food options. I'm a big carnivore so this was a big make it or break it point for us. Fortunately for us everything we ordered (pretty much the whole menu) was delicious! It was so delicious we even ordered items we didn't taste to be served that night because we had complete faith in the chef to pull it off! We were delighted at how well presented the food was both at the tasting and during our party. Our guests thought the food was delicious, beautifully presented, and appreciated the variation of flavors, textures, and colors. The pastry chef was out on leave during our event so we ordered cupcakes from a local shop and also brought in some gluten free (GF) treats as well. They plated and labeled all our desserts for us and it was an impressive sight! Tiered stands and beautiful plates. They didn't skimp just because we had brought things in from outside their kitchen. Everyone oohed and ahhed when they brought out dessert and then dived right in. We had a few guests that have celiac disease and the staff were really great about keeping GF items, plates, and serving utensils separated for our guests. As part of our party, we placed some games and puzzles on tables around the event. We wanted to explain why we chose those items and what they mean to us so we also had a chance to work with their designer to have some custom letters and description tags printed out for our event. That process was simple, quick, and stress-free as well. Everything was ready for us the day of and we were able to set things up and take a nice long break (and even a nap) before we welcomed guests in. Beautiful not-too-big event space with fantastic service. I would love to hold an event here some day.

We didn't do an event here but our experience still seems like people should know about. We wanted to have our tiny wedding and dinner at The Lab. After two voice calls, two emails and two visits as well, we haven't heard back from them. We would be okay if they couldn't do it but leaving us in a limbo is horrible on their part. They are sweet in person but haven't extended the same courtesy by their actions. I don't think they have done any event post pandemic but it would have been nice if they could tell us that to our face. read more

Amazing venue tucked away off of 15th (one of the best streets in Seattle). The coordination, food, and drinks served all were top notch. The way the venue structures pricing is really accommodating and provides a great experience for all attending. If you are hosting any event with a laboratory, science, math, or engineering focus this place is EVEN better as the whole vibe really suits it well. Biggest suggestion I would have is get some Klein bottles! they would look so cool with the test tube chandelier. I had my wedding reception (around 35 people) here, and it was a wonderful experience! Everyone loved the food - especially the curry, taco bar, polenta bites, and udon salad - as well as the the intimate vibe and classy, scientific decor. I appreciated that The Lab allows people to bring in outside food and drinks, with a minimal corkage fee. Jordan and the two bartenders were helpful, kind, and easy to work with. They checked in on us, assisted with AV needs, and made sure things were running smoothly. Jordan was also very responsive during the planning period and answered all of my many questions. The space itself is quite small, and we had people at almost every seat. However, it didn't feel too crowded, and many people ended up standing and mingling in between trips to the buffet line or bar. Overall, I think all of our guests enjoyed themselves and the food. I had a horrid experience here today. I registered for a lunch talk on PrEP and ordered my food on Tuesday. The talk was excellent, but they said they never received my order and I went without lunch today. My job is physically demanding. Not having anything to eat for lunch made my afternoon stressful. I am very upset with Ada's! read more

This is a great location to have an offsite and do some working meetings. It has a great cafe internally and is close to some terrific food options... Really a great creative space all the way around! read more

I had my birthday party hosted at The Lab in July 2019 and it was absolutely amazing! The space is incredible and beautiful, the food was good - mostly vegetarian, and the drinks were delish! The coordinator was out of town while we were organizing and setting the menu so that was not as smooth as it could have been, but in the end it all came together and was an absolutely marvelous evening! read more

Our Holiday Happy Hour couldn't have been more perfect - in such a large part to Jordan and his team at the Lab at Ada's! We hosted around 40 people for a holiday party - and everything from securing a date and time to picking out the food and drink menus was so easy! Really amazing and cozy space located behind Ada's Technical Books. It was the perfect venue for a recent Chinook Book event and we loved all of the food they provided - especially the polenta cakes. The space was also very versatile with unique tables that folded down from the wall with little pulleys. Can't wait to wait come back with friends! read more

Perfect venue for our event with a few dozen people on a Friday evening after work. We watched a panel discussion on The Lab's screens and broke out into groups for a conversation afterwards. Ada's set up the Facebook event page for us, provided microphones, and Brady and Jen were our awesome bartenders the night of. They also made sure our audio sounded good when we switched between screen audio and mic audio. The whole team at Ada's nailed the details. Okay - the sourdough starter/breadmaking class: out of this world! I wish I could remember the name of the biologist/baker who ran the class, but she was incredible - great explanations about every step of making a sourdough starter. In fact, the entirety of the staff working the event were great! We will definitely be back for more events at the Lab. What an amazing, intimate atmosphere for learning, conversation, and everything in between! read more
