Jerk Chicken and Mushroom Grits (forgot to take a photo of the menu so not the exact names)
Christine B.

We've been wanting to try this new spot in the Central District. They used to have another location but I never visited that one. They are new to this space. We stopped in on a Friday night and were able to get two seats at the bar. We waited briefly for the seats to open up but they had a comfortable set of chairs to sit in while we waited. The drinks were delicious. And the service at the bar was good. We ordered food (pictured) and it was fantastic. I forgot to take a picture of the menu so I don't have the exact names. But the grits with mushrooms and a 6 minute egg were amazing. So flavorful and savory. The Jerk Chicken had delicious greens and seasonal squash that I tasted. Both were cooked to perfection. We had the bread pudding to finish out the meal and it was amazing. It wasn't a huge portion but we were full from our entrees so it was just fine. I'm still thinking about that caramel sauce. The space is small and intimate. Everyone working was friendly and knew the menu and the food well. We'll definitely be back!

Black cod with foraged mushrooms and green beans. Best cod I've ever had!

Incredible dining experience. From the beautiful ambiance of the dining room to the friendly, fast, knowledgeable waitstaff, we thoroughly enjoyed our first visit here. We ate the hush puppies and nettle potato dumplings too eagerly and missed the picture, but they were absolutely divine. The hush puppies were the perfect blend of crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside with the most amazing spicy honey you'll ever taste. The dumplings were soooo delicious, light and fluffy I could have eaten three bowls. For our entrees, we devoured the black cod and oxtail, completely unable to define which one was best as they were both equally delicious. I will definitely be stopping in at Marjorie's again on my next trip to Seattle.

Summer squash

Came here on a Wednesday night and there was a lovely crowd dining. I ordered the salmon ceviche, the summer squash, and the black cod and WOW!!! SO yummy. The ceviche was perfectly seasoned and had a great balance of acid, the summer squash was so refreshing and had pops of yummy feta, and the black cod.. wow. Just perfect. Texture of perfect butter, beautiful crisped outside, the juices of the marinade mixed with the tofu cream thing and the greens so well. Genuinely 11/10 dish. I had the match cheesecake for dessert to finish off the meal perfectly!! For drinks I was advised by my server Juno on the yummiest cocktail - I'm forgetting the name but it has coconut water and ginger. Perfect for summer. Looking forward to coming back soon

Marjorie has leveled up to on of my favorite restaurants in the city. Why? Because it has it all! Friendly staff. Excellent food. Great drinks. And best of all a really fun community vibe. It's the place to be! And if you're lucky Donna the owner will personally welcome you and spend some time Getting to know you. Shout out to my fave bartender Richard! See y'all there soon.

Marjorie's Brioche Bread Pudding - AMAZING! Warm, sweet, sticky deliciousness!

Marjorie is located near busy Madison Avenue in Capital Hill. The service, food, and cocktails here are all amazing and I'm shocked the restaurant does not have a higher rating! The caveat, however, is that prices are pretty steep. 1) Service (+): Our server was very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. I called to make a same-day outdoor dining reservation on a busy Friday night. 2) Ambience (+): I love the modern, clean and cozy vibe of the restaurant; the outdoor patio is shaded by plants and supplied by ample heat lamps from every direction. 3) Food (+): To start, we shared the famous Miss Marjorie's Steel Drum Plantain Chips, which were AMAZING and came with 3 different dips - guacamole, beans, and a spicy mixture! For mains, my friend had the Jamaican Jerked Chicken, which was cooked to tender perfection and came with a side of sweet potato coconut puree, collard greens, and plantains. I had the the True Burger, feature house grind St. Helen's beef, shallot jam, garlic aioli, local greens, frites, and harissa ketchup. For dessert, we shared Marjorie's Brioche Bread Pudding, which was drizzled in warm bourbon caramel sauce, toffee, and fresh cream. It was the perfect finish to a delicious meal! 4) Alcohol/Drinks (+): There is a small selection of cocktails and wine. I had the deliciously refreshing Paper Plane, which features bourbon, aperol, Amaro Nonino, and lemon juice. 5) Value for Money (-): While the food and drinks were amazing, the prices are too high for the quality and portion size. The plantain chips starter was $18 and entrees are $30+.

What a perfect little place. The ambiance with the brick, steel, and soft lights make the restaurant so cozy and welcoming. We shared the plantain small plate with three dips- was delicious. We also shared the scallops - this was a whole other level- amazing textures and taste with the roast pineapple. My final meal was the ricotta gnocchi - delicious!! I had the "purple rain" cocktail- perfection.

I'd say food at Majorie is just okay with a mix of western and pan-Asian cuisine. The drinks were definitely the highlight (favorite was the paper plane). The bartender / wait staff was absolutely on point for the night that we were there - singlehandedly serving 8 tables all by themselves. Bravo and deserved all the tips!

This place always looks so adorable from the outside but usually seemed closed. Found out it has very limited hours and decided to make a reservation by email a couple days in advance for my mother and I. Food: very good! We ordered the Jerk Chicken Skewers, Plantain Chips, Burrata, plantain crusted fish, bread pudding and the tres leches cake. Our favorite was definitely the burrata appetizer, the pear, sauce, and burrata on the bruschetta was delicious! We also really enjoyed the plantain chips, the jerk chicken skewers we're delicious but definitely has that kick. (My mom could not handle it) Pro tip: if you're a PCC member you'll get a free small plate of plantain chips! Overall, delicious! It definitely was a bit pricey, and they only had one waiter at the time so it was a bit hard to get his attention sometimes, but I could see myself coming back for a nice occasion.

One of the most perfect places to eat in Seattle! I took my family and they loved it!! We even got to meet the owner and she was the kindest soul!! The food is mouth watering down to every last bite! I ordered the jerk chicken!! Just writing this review thinking about it has my mouth watering! Lol I highly recommend this little gem for good meal!

We ordered from Marjorie as a part of The Soul of Seattle and the entire experience was fantastic. If I could post a review of the Soul of Seattle experience I would - it was such a vibe and a truly immersive experience- music, food, education, culture- it was so good. But I digress -- on to the food.. So as a part of this experience, i preordered from a prefixed planned menu. It was pricey but it was a fundraiser so..... I arrived to pick up the food and the owner hands me my two canvas bags filled with our meals and a cookbook. The bag contained our meal as well as warming instructions, beer, Maker's whiskey, and water. For starters we had the plantain chips - which are unassuming but surprisingly addictive. Once you have some and you are no longer chewing them, you start craving them after a few minutes. The chips We're accompanied by two dips one was like a bean dip the other was a spicy chutney - both were very yummy. Then on to the jerk chicken. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked with just the right amount of heat. It came with a breast and a thigh light combo. It was a lot of food for me so I saved half of it for the next day. The chicken also came with puréed sweet potatoes and collard greens. Sweet potatoes were amazing and the greens were my least favorite. Not because they were not good it was because they included a vinegar/pickled taste that I didn't prefer. My husband loved his. The star of the show was the dessert. It was a bread putting in a caramel sauce that was to die for in fact I'm still dreaming about it. The texture was amazing and the flavor was out of this world. I would go back just for that. The food was so good that I definitely will pay a visit to Marjorie once we return to a post vaccine world .

The whole space has this intimate, luxurious atmosphere that makes the experience feel special the moment you walk in. We tried the Japanese Breakfast, which is a savory cocktail and such a pleasant surprise. It genuinely has miso soup notes. It's very unique and creative. I also had El Boho (flavorful but not overly sweet). The staff are always friendly and very knowledgeable when it comes to recommending drinks. The prices are on the higher end, but personally I think they're totally worth it for the creativity and overall experience. This is the spot I bring all my out-of-town friends to because the ambiance, vibes, and drinks are just that good. Truly one of Seattle's gems.

The First Gentleman was attentive and we got our drinks and an appetizer timely. We ordered our second appetizer with our first server and thats where the service deteriorated. I could hear the table next to us ordered the exact same appetizer as we did 10-15 mins after we did and a new server who must had just clocked in brings them the order literally within 2-3 mins later and the male commented, "oh that was fast" and I thought to myself they got our order. Another 10-15 mins go by and I had to ask "do you know how long our order will take to which she seemed to get annoyed. It could have my energy because by that time I was annoyed. I'm not sure what happened to our original server but he must have gotten off. About 5-10 mins goes by and here it comes. That confirmed the table next to us got our order because of how long it took. They never apologized for their mistake. Doing all that time they never came back to see if we would like another drink. I had to flag someone down. The clincher was we got our bill and there was 22% service charge. That was on me because if I would have seen it I might not have gone. I'm not a fan of automatically charging a service charge. I'm a great tipper but it must be earned. By than I was really annoyed and thought to have a conversation with the manager but let it go. I would not go back. The craft cocktails are spendy but I had no problem with that because they're creative and they earned it by being creative. But the energy and the environment wasn't like the other speak easy bars I visited. It was boring and to top it off the service charge of 22% and the service that came with it sealed it for me. Make sure to read the website on their thought around the 22%.

When the city reopened in 2021, I was eating here almost every day; partly because of convenience, but mainly because the food and service never miss. I've hosted everything here: birthday celebrations, after-work hangs, and dinners with friends and colleagues. Every single time, it's a hit. People walk in, fall in love with the vibe, and walk out talking about the food. The consistency is unreal. They even order food to go. The flavors? Bold, intentional, and layered in a way that makes each dish feel crafted, not just cooked. The presentation is always stunning; plates that look as good as they taste. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they send out. Drinks are equally impressive. Their cocktails are balanced and creative, the kind that make you slow down just to appreciate the mixology behind them. And for anyone planning group outings: reservations here are a breeze. They're incredibly accommodating with large parties, and the service stays sharp even when the place is packed. Attentive, friendly, and perfectly paced; they know how to take care of people. Dead Line checks every box: atmosphere, flavor, presentation, service, and seamless hosting for big groups. It's easily one of the most reliable and enjoyable spots in downtown Seattle, and it's stayed that way for years.

We got our appetizers before our drinks: Brussel sprouts (SO YUMMY), oysters, and truffle fries (towered in parm!). These went down super quick. I then ordered the pork arepa for my entree and wow...not what i was expecting but will never regret! One of my favorite dishes I've had in a while that I'll keep thinking about. All the flavors worked so well together and the arepa itself was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The pork was sweeter due to the marinade and not salty at all which i preferred. Roquette was a surprisingly small space with a wonderful vibe serving up "destination" bar-worthy cocktails. It reminded me of some of the neighborhood gem cocktail bars that I'd frequented on the East Coast. I grabbed a seat at the bar. Roquette's lineup of cocktails were varied in flavor profile using a wide range of spirits. They also served non-alcoholic offerings which looked equally intriguing as their boozy selections. I started off with the 99 Problems ($28), which, unfortunately, I forgot to note what was in the drink. It was boozy, clever, inventive, and most importantly delicious. My second drink was the Imperium Old Fashioned ($24) made with Westland Whiskey "Roquette" Barrel, Clement Cask Strength Rhum, Old Delicious Apple Brandy, Pineapple, and Spice. It was an excellent, boozy, balanced update to the classic Old Fashioned. Although I went with drinks off their menu, I have no doubt that any of their skilled bar professionals could've crafted me a wonderful cocktail if I had simply requested a classic or something on the fly based on my choice of spirit and desired flavor profile. Yes, the prices on the two drinks I ordered were pretty steep, but they were comparable to prices I've paid in Las Vegas. Plus, I don't have a problem with paying a premium for a well-made cocktail made with premium ingredients in a comfortable, welcoming setting (the drunken guy next to me who tried to engage with me in a political discussion excluded). Bottom-line: Roquette was a revelation. It served up two of the best cocktails that I've had this year. I can't recommend it enough and it'll be at the top of my list of places to hit the next time I'm in town.
