If I could give this place more than five stars, I totally would. Honestly I really enjoyed coming here for their happy hour. Their fries and onion rings were delicious although not on the happy hour menu I still ordered them. We got the falafel from the happy hour menu and we're so delicious. The chef actually made an extra tandoori chicken and gave it to us for free which is so nice and thoughtful. We were here for hours with my girls just hanging out chatting, enjoying happy hour and the service was so nice and polite. I would totally come here again. This is a cute little bar and quick bite venue that is hidden on 15th. I came here for a quick bite with my mom and sister at dinner time on a Friday, and there was no line, ordering was quick, and the food came out quickly. I was pleasantly surprised by the food as well, it was more substantial than typical bar or cocktail place food and was filling. I want to come back to get drinks with friends because there is a decent sized outdoor, heated patio! I've heard the drinks are good too. Solid place for satisfying and delicious food! I've been a few times, and my go-tos are: fries, onion rings, burger, pastrami, shishito peppers. You order from a QR code, although I believe you can also order with the staff. The staff have always been incredibly friendly, and want to be helpful. The main dining area is airy and cozy, and don't miss out on the back patio. It's nice to sit there, even when the weather isn't great (which, for Seattle, is often). They also have a fabulous cocktail menu, including a smoky old fashioned. No high chairs though! read more

This is such a cute hidden gem found on 15th Ave! I love that the outdoor patio is covered and even the inside space is airy and beautiful. They have a happy hour but I came after the HH window. We came on a weekday evening and it was a casual vibe where you can sit yourself where you want. I shared some food including the pork belly, slow roasted chicken thighs, and flatbread with a friend. The flavors were delicious on the flatbread and the pork belly was cooked until tender. The chicken thighs were a bit dry in my opinion or needed the braising liquid or sauce to help accompany it. This place was magic. From the moment I walked in to warmth from from a blustery rainy evening to the last bite of Dubai chocolate. The space is high ceilings, exposed brick, plants. The staff is warm and welcoming. The menu is a total delight and I had a hard time deciding what to order, because so much of it looked great. I ordered the tuna melt, so good. I had a glass of white wine, which was very crisp and cold. The table water was also cold, something not too common. The Dubai chocolate, oh my goodness. It's all around a good place on the 15th Ave row. Large open interior with one good-sized semi-private room in the back. They have a good mix of cocktails and beers, and you can order touchless drinks via QR code if you like. Service is always attentive and reasonably quick. I had the mushroom, Reuben. The mushrooms are lightly batter, fried, and nicely chewy. A good mix of dressing (which can be lacking on some Reubens) and sauerkraut. The marbled rye is good but the slices were a bit thick for my taste. All around a good time, especially for an evening bit. Give it a go. read more

Came to Vacilando after a fun workout with a friend around 3pm and was really excited to try a new place! It's a seat your self type of restaurant and you place your order through QR codes. So there's very little interaction with the actual staff besides them dropping off the food/drinks. There's an order seating area and it looked beautiful, but it was closed for a private event. We ordered the blistered shishito peppers, a cheeseburger, and the pastrami Reuben sandwich. The cheeseburger was yummy, the bread was very thick and all in all it was good burger. I tried a bite of the pastrami Reuben and it was a delicious sandwich! The item that stole the show for both of us was the blistered shishito peppers! We had never had anything like them before. Of the 30 or so we ate together, 3 were spicy! The rest were mild, but paired beautifully with the lemony sauce they came with. All in all Vacilando was a great place to stumble upon and I would recommend checking it out if you're in the Cap Hill area. read more

Love the ambiance of this place!! And they have really good drinks that ranges from 14-18 dollars. Their drinks are really good and I especially enjoyed the lavender drink. If you don't like the strong taste of alcohol like me, they have great options for those I loved the flatbreads!! Definitely try this out!! Also the salad is great too!! What a cute place - I would say "cute, little place", but this place is deceptively spacious! The interior is well decorated, and there is a heated, covered patio, making it a great place for group hangs or date night in warm or cold weather! The chaat chicken was SO GOOD. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the sauce was to die for! The Ruben was also good, but I definitely preferred the chaat chicken. We also ordered fries and onion rings which were as expected - the fries do have additional herbs on them, which I always like. There was a bottle of house red that was split amongst the table, and it was pretty good for a house wine - definitely fruit forward, so it's a sweeter red than one might expect. They have online ordering for the table, or a waiter can get your order if you prefer. The online version is nice though because it shows you photos of the items. You can rent out that patio and probably the whole restaurant for an event, so I'll definitely bookmark this for any birthdays or anniversaries in the future! read more

Came here early afternoon after a failed attempt at trying to go to the Seattle Japanese garden on a weekend - bad idea. But it did bring us to Bar Vacilando since we were hungry and needed some good food and a good drink. It was my husband's birthday so when we saw this place it was a must. They have a lot of vegetarian and vegan options on the menu and a most delicious drink menu. The space is *gorgeous* -- bright, airy, big plants/trees and an open-air - but covered! - patio. I felt like I was back in Puerto Rico or something. For lunch we ordered a little bit of everything to try everything! My husband and I got their impossible burgers which were probably the best impossible burgers we've had - no lie. We also ordered some fries, onion rings, the mushroom reuben for all of us to try. Be sure to sit in the outdoor patio, which feels like a tropical escape! 1) Service (+): No reservations are taken here but there is a large wooden table in the outdoor patio that can seat up to 12 people 2) Ambience (+): I love the spacious, airy, and plant-filled vibe of the bar, especially the patio, which feels like a large greenhouse. 3) Food (+): For appetizers, we shared the fries lightly seasoned with herbs, fried onion rings, blistered shishito peppers, and reggianito stuffed fried olives and romesco - all of which were delicious and my favorited were the olives! In fact, I think the appetizers were better than the main menu, which is largely made up of burgers and sandwiches. I had the Vacilando burger featuring premium Oregon natural beef, lettuce, tomato, and grilled onions with a house pickle on the side. The burgers were good but they were nothing to write home about. For dessert, we shared the chocolate and Early Grey panna cotta, which were very unique and unlike anything I've tried before! 4) Alcohol/Drinks (+): The cocktails are certainly the highlight of Bar Vacilando. Large, airy space with a dog friendly, outdoor patio. Pleasant atmosphere. Had a vodka Blood Orange gimlet with lime that was delicious and tart. Ordered a hot pastrami with Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and a "special sauce" on toasted marbled rye. The inadequate pastrami on the sandwich was in large chunks, chewy and gristled, with too much sauerkraut, and a "special sauce" which was a little bit too sour for me. In addition, the pickle was hard to bite. I know that's a strange thing to say , but it was a little bit of a challenge to eat it. I had to kind of rip it with my teeth when I was eating it. Having lived in South, Florida for many years, it was quite disappointing because pastrami there is sliced very thin and it's just so different. I enjoyed the cocktail very much, but I'm not interested in returning here again because the food was just not very good. This is one of Seattle's prettiest restaurants -- such a cool look both indoors and on the patio. It's been a favorite of mine for years. But wow,last night the pork tacos were very, very plain and tired. Just pulled pork and tomatoes. The menu indicates the tomatoes are in a "pico," which would definitely be more interesting (typically with chiles, onions, citrus) but I think these were just tomatoes. And no green of any sort (cilantro anyone? jalopeno perhaps? a salsa?) -- just brown and red. I brought the third taco home and had it for lunch, but only after adding pickled red onions and carrots, some chopped jalopenos, and cilantro. I don't know what's up with Vacilando now. Sat in the garden with three friends on a recent weekday night. From the beautiful lighting to the fresh flowers and plants around us, I was instantly transported back to a European cafe setting. Is this Paris or is this Capitol Hill?! Tres bien. Menu is small and limited, but each dish nailed it. Some of the appetizers come out on pieces of paper that look like a foreign newspaper. It was such an adorable touch. We really enjoyed the fried, cheese-stuffed olives, and a bunch of the sandwiches. Service was so warm and friendly, providing expert recommendations with a smile. Bar Vacilando is actually so magical. I came here with my coworkers for a happy hour and I've been obsessed ever since. It's the perfect spot for outdoor drinks, especially during the amazing Seattle summer. Honestly not too sure how to describe the vibe. The best I could come up with is a clean tropical aesthetic. I truly felt like we were transported elsewhere and were no longer in Seattle. Sadly, I forgot to take photos but the food was amazing. We got the blistered shishito peppers, bite size fried chicken, and onion rings. Not a huge fan of the peppers but the chicken and onion rings were soooo good. I came awhile ago and I still think about it haha. I also got the Lavender Haze and Vacilando Gimlet for drinks. Lavender Haze is a gorgeous drink and perfect if you're looking for a light and sweet cocktail. The Vacilando Gimlet was definitely stronger but still pretty good. After coming here for drinks, I can't wait to come back for a true dining experience. HH REVIEW ONLY: 4-6pm DAILY Solid Happy Hour. Very limited food items (2 dips and 2 flatbreads on the menu right now), but the cocktails and interior were great so I'm definitely coming back soon. For food items off of the Happy Hour Menu, we ordered the Crab & Artichoke Bake (5/5 so freaking delicious- you can see the actual crab pieces unlike some crab dips), and the Prosciutto & Bechamel Flatbread (5/5 large portion and tasty). For regular dinner items, we also ordered the Green Bean Fries (5/5 wanted to try these since a lot of people recommended ordering them and they did not disappoint), and the Tako "Tacos" (2/5 only disappointing part of our meal... $15 for 3 TINY tacos that had barely any filling inside to make anyone remotely satisfied after consuming these). My favorite new spot in Cap Hill. Not sure what took me so long to get over here but I love everything about it. Great food, amazing ambiance, and good service - what could be better? We came here for the middle of happy hour to an almost full patio - no more tables available for parties with more than 2 except for the long cafeteria style community table. We three sat at the long table and nobody joined us the whole evening. We stayed long past happy hour ended and enjoyed everything about the space. Water comes in a cute pitcher on the table so you're not without at any point during your time here. If you drink it all and ask for more the server will have a new one out to you in no time at all. I loved the Brussels sprouts here - perfectly cooked and delicious! The flatbread was very tasty but the smell of the cooked cheeses were pretty off putting - that was the one thing I thought could use a change-up in the entire experience. We ordered it and so did another table nearby. Both times the dish was brought out it smelled like an animal had sprayed one of the nearby plants - just something to keep in mind. The bean dip was so good we ordered two between the three of us - there were plenty of chips to go with this dip so we didn't ever have to ask for more. The carb artichoke dip was also quite good - not fishy in any way and baked just right. The Hh drink options were very good and all in all we left very happy. The place was not busy 5pm weekday, and staff were all gathered at the bar laughing, ignoring pretty much everyone. No one ever checked on me if I needed anything else or to bring the check. I went up to the bar and paid and there was no smile or thank you from anyone! Not a welcoming place at all... Never had such awful service before. You can bet that I will never go back! read more
