Outdoor patio
Kaelin H.

This is such a cute hidden gem found on 15th Ave! I love that the outdoor patio is covered and even the inside space is airy and beautiful. They have a happy hour but I came after the HH window. We came on a weekday evening and it was a casual vibe where you can sit yourself where you want. I shared some food including the pork belly, slow roasted chicken thighs, and flatbread with a friend. The flavors were delicious on the flatbread and the pork belly was cooked until tender. The chicken thighs were a bit dry in my opinion or needed the braising liquid or sauce to help accompany it. Drinks were decent but not super memorable. Overall I'd recommend this place especially if you're looking for an outdoor seating arrangement.

We stopped in for drinks and small bites and love it. Calimari with glasses of Afterglow and Sweater Weather. Beautiful space and good food. Try it! Beautiful space to hang out and avoid the rain.

Cauliflower Fritters

We were in the area and decided to try Bar Vacilando when we passed it. We got Cauliflower fritters & kolkata pepper sauce, Chaat chicken naan sandwich, and Grilled fish tacos. The cauliflower fritters were good. We enjoyed both the chaat chicken sandwich and the fish tacos. We got a chocolate torte for dessert and loved it.

Seasonal cocktails

Very cute little patio! It's heated and covered which is nice. The food was tasty and they had many vegetarian options. The service was attentive and friendly. I would definitely go back and their seasonal cocktails are worth another trip.

I LOVE this place- the cocktails, the food, the patio, the staff, the price is great. A Capital Hill staple.

It's all around a good place on the 15th Ave row. Large open interior with one good-sized semi-private room in the back. They have a good mix of cocktails and beers, and you can order touchless drinks via QR code if you like. Service is always attentive and reasonably quick. I had the mushroom, Reuben. The mushrooms are lightly batter, fried, and nicely chewy. A good mix of dressing (which can be lacking on some Reubens) and sauerkraut. The marbled rye is good but the slices were a bit thick for my taste. All around a good time, especially for an evening bit. Give it a go.

Came to Vacilando after a fun workout with a friend around 3pm and was really excited to try a new place! It's a seat your self type of restaurant and you place your order through QR codes. So there's very little interaction with the actual staff besides them dropping off the food/drinks. There's an order seating area and it looked beautiful, but it was closed for a private event. We ordered the blistered shishito peppers, a cheeseburger, and the pastrami Reuben sandwich. The cheeseburger was yummy, the bread was very thick and all in all it was good burger. I tried a bite of the pastrami Reuben and it was a delicious sandwich! The item that stole the show for both of us was the blistered shishito peppers! We had never had anything like them before. Of the 30 or so we ate together, 3 were spicy! The rest were mild, but paired beautifully with the lemony sauce they came with. All in all Vacilando was a great place to stumble upon and I would recommend checking it out if you're in the Cap Hill area.

What a cute place - I would say "cute, little place", but this place is deceptively spacious! The interior is well decorated, and there is a heated, covered patio, making it a great place for group hangs or date night in warm or cold weather! The chaat chicken was SO GOOD. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the sauce was to die for! The Ruben was also good, but I definitely preferred the chaat chicken. We also ordered fries and onion rings which were as expected - the fries do have additional herbs on them, which I always like. There was a bottle of house red that was split amongst the table, and it was pretty good for a house wine - definitely fruit forward, so it's a sweeter red than one might expect. They have online ordering for the table, or a waiter can get your order if you prefer. The online version is nice though because it shows you photos of the items. You can rent out that patio and probably the whole restaurant for an event, so I'll definitely bookmark this for any birthdays or anniversaries in the future!

Impossible burger

Came here early afternoon after a failed attempt at trying to go to the Seattle Japanese garden on a weekend - bad idea. But it did bring us to Bar Vacilando since we were hungry and needed some good food and a good drink. It was my husband's birthday so when we saw this place it was a must. They have a lot of vegetarian and vegan options on the menu and a most delicious drink menu. The space is *gorgeous* -- bright, airy, big plants/trees and an open-air - but covered! - patio. I felt like I was back in Puerto Rico or something. For lunch we ordered a little bit of everything to try everything! My husband and I got their impossible burgers which were probably the best impossible burgers we've had - no lie. We also ordered some fries, onion rings, the mushroom reuben for all of us to try. If you are ever in Capitol Hill make sure this place is on your list!

Lavender Haze - a beautiful concoction featuring house-infused butterfly pea tea gin, lemonade, soda, and lavender bitters

Bar Vacilando offers an amazing selection of deliciously beautiful cocktails, appetizers, and burgers for a great price! Be sure to sit in the outdoor patio, which feels like a tropical escape! 1) Service (+): No reservations are taken here but there is a large wooden table in the outdoor patio that can seat up to 12 people 2) Ambience (+): I love the spacious, airy, and plant-filled vibe of the bar, especially the patio, which feels like a large greenhouse. 3) Food (+): For appetizers, we shared the fries lightly seasoned with herbs, fried onion rings, blistered shishito peppers, and reggianito stuffed fried olives and romesco - all of which were delicious and my favorited were the olives! In fact, I think the appetizers were better than the main menu, which is largely made up of burgers and sandwiches. I had the Vacilando burger featuring premium Oregon natural beef, lettuce, tomato, and grilled onions with a house pickle on the side. The burgers were good but they were nothing to write home about. For dessert, we shared the chocolate and Early Grey panna cotta, which were very unique and unlike anything I've tried before! 4) Alcohol/Drinks (+): The cocktails are certainly the highlight of Bar Vacilando. Equally delcious as they are beautiful, my favorite cocktail was the Lavender Haze - a beautiful concoction featuring house-infused butterfly pea tea gin, lemonade, soda, and lavender bitters. The Vacilando Gimlet with vodka, blood orange puree, lime, simple syrup, and ginger was another favorite! 5) Value for Money (-): With most cocktails around $13 each, appetizers under $10, and burgers from $10-$15, the price is right for this hip bar!

Easily one of the best go-to spots in the neighborhood if you're looking for a place with casual but reliably solid food/cocktails . I personally enjoy their burgers, tuna melt, BE&C sandwiches. They offer a wide selection of cocktails (and mocktails) that can be enjoyed in their outdoor (but covered) patio. If you're looking for a chill place with a vibe, or need a place to grab food that's not too crowded, then look no further. Overall, the food is 4/5 but the ambiance and drinks bump it up to a 5/5.

Great ambiance. Light open and airy with lots of plants

The whole space has this intimate, luxurious atmosphere that makes the experience feel special the moment you walk in. We tried the Japanese Breakfast, which is a savory cocktail and such a pleasant surprise. It genuinely has miso soup notes. It's very unique and creative. I also had El Boho (flavorful but not overly sweet). The staff are always friendly and very knowledgeable when it comes to recommending drinks. The prices are on the higher end, but personally I think they're totally worth it for the creativity and overall experience. This is the spot I bring all my out-of-town friends to because the ambiance, vibes, and drinks are just that good. Truly one of Seattle's gems.

The First Gentleman was attentive and we got our drinks and an appetizer timely. We ordered our second appetizer with our first server and thats where the service deteriorated. I could hear the table next to us ordered the exact same appetizer as we did 10-15 mins after we did and a new server who must had just clocked in brings them the order literally within 2-3 mins later and the male commented, "oh that was fast" and I thought to myself they got our order. Another 10-15 mins go by and I had to ask "do you know how long our order will take to which she seemed to get annoyed. It could have my energy because by that time I was annoyed. I'm not sure what happened to our original server but he must have gotten off. About 5-10 mins goes by and here it comes. That confirmed the table next to us got our order because of how long it took. They never apologized for their mistake. Doing all that time they never came back to see if we would like another drink. I had to flag someone down. The clincher was we got our bill and there was 22% service charge. That was on me because if I would have seen it I might not have gone. I'm not a fan of automatically charging a service charge. I'm a great tipper but it must be earned. By than I was really annoyed and thought to have a conversation with the manager but let it go. I would not go back. The craft cocktails are spendy but I had no problem with that because they're creative and they earned it by being creative. But the energy and the environment wasn't like the other speak easy bars I visited. It was boring and to top it off the service charge of 22% and the service that came with it sealed it for me. Make sure to read the website on their thought around the 22%.

When the city reopened in 2021, I was eating here almost every day; partly because of convenience, but mainly because the food and service never miss. I've hosted everything here: birthday celebrations, after-work hangs, and dinners with friends and colleagues. Every single time, it's a hit. People walk in, fall in love with the vibe, and walk out talking about the food. The consistency is unreal. They even order food to go. The flavors? Bold, intentional, and layered in a way that makes each dish feel crafted, not just cooked. The presentation is always stunning; plates that look as good as they taste. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they send out. Drinks are equally impressive. Their cocktails are balanced and creative, the kind that make you slow down just to appreciate the mixology behind them. And for anyone planning group outings: reservations here are a breeze. They're incredibly accommodating with large parties, and the service stays sharp even when the place is packed. Attentive, friendly, and perfectly paced; they know how to take care of people. Dead Line checks every box: atmosphere, flavor, presentation, service, and seamless hosting for big groups. It's easily one of the most reliable and enjoyable spots in downtown Seattle, and it's stayed that way for years.

Roquette was a surprisingly small space with a wonderful vibe serving up "destination" bar-worthy cocktails. It reminded me of some of the neighborhood gem cocktail bars that I'd frequented on the East Coast. I grabbed a seat at the bar. Roquette's lineup of cocktails were varied in flavor profile using a wide range of spirits. They also served non-alcoholic offerings which looked equally intriguing as their boozy selections. I started off with the 99 Problems ($28), which, unfortunately, I forgot to note what was in the drink. It was boozy, clever, inventive, and most importantly delicious. My second drink was the Imperium Old Fashioned ($24) made with Westland Whiskey "Roquette" Barrel, Clement Cask Strength Rhum, Old Delicious Apple Brandy, Pineapple, and Spice. It was an excellent, boozy, balanced update to the classic Old Fashioned. Although I went with drinks off their menu, I have no doubt that any of their skilled bar professionals could've crafted me a wonderful cocktail if I had simply requested a classic or something on the fly based on my choice of spirit and desired flavor profile. Yes, the prices on the two drinks I ordered were pretty steep, but they were comparable to prices I've paid in Las Vegas. Plus, I don't have a problem with paying a premium for a well-made cocktail made with premium ingredients in a comfortable, welcoming setting (the drunken guy next to me who tried to engage with me in a political discussion excluded). Bottom-line: Roquette was a revelation. It served up two of the best cocktails that I've had this year. I can't recommend it enough and it'll be at the top of my list of places to hit the next time I'm in town.
