    Chicken Croquettes
    Michael C.

This is a new venue on Capitol Hill and we wanted to visit to show some support and check out the space (I haven't been since the prior occupants were there). The ambience is charming, lots of actual chandeliers, mirrors, and bright colors. Bossa nova covers of pop songs played throughout the night. It reminded us of some of the bars in Hell's Kitchen. There was a group of us and we ordered an array of appetizers, entrees, and drinks. We had some decent bites and also have a few notes for the kitchen. Our favorite food item was the Chandelier Wings (Buffalo). These were great and we were sparing over the last wing. We also liked the Lobster Ravioli. The Chicken Croquettes felt a little burnt, and also a tad greasy. My husband ordered the Fish and Chips and the condiment jar containing his tarter sauce was almost empty when the dish arrived. Similarly, our friend ordered the Drunken Mussels, and the dish arrived with a mussel missing from the otherwise-eloquently displayed dish. The drink menu is inventive and the drinks were well presented. Some were better than others. I had the Chandelier Sparkle. It was a beautiful drink but the flavor balance was slightly a-miss, as was the glitter (it fell off with the Prosecco foam). My husband had the Old Fashion (off-menu, but a bar classic). It was not to sweet, but also perhaps a bit too watery. My husband also had the Mango Margarita and he liked this drink. I think there is potential here. It a cute space with a dedicated staff. I think there are some great options on the menu but some items could use a little more finesse. We look forward to seeing how Chandelier evolves in the coming months.

Just wandered in on a Saturday night. Beautiful atmosphere, live music and no cover. This is definitely a comfortable, welcoming lounge with blue velvety booths and warm lighting. The drinks were fantastic and service exceptional. I love chandeliers so I was right in my element

    Eggplant crostini (HH version)

The drink was very well made and I also liked the eggplant crostini. Perhaps a bit heavy on the onions and peppers, but that's just my preference. The service was exceptional and it was really cute and classy little space. The holiday decor was fun and sparkly. I'd definitely go back and I would recommend trying the happy hour items - very good value (even without the HH deals really)!

The drag brunch at The Chandelier Lounge was EVERYTHING! From the moment we walked in, the energy was electric fierce queens, flawless performances, and a crowd that came to live their best lives. The Buffet food was delicious and the vibes were even better. Every queen brought charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent to the stage, and the whole show felt like a celebration of joy, laughter, and pure glam. I can't wait to come back with all my friends this is the brunch spot to beat!

Also, a special shoutout to the bartenders--they were awesome! Very nice, good service, and made fire drinks. The seating options are great too. You can sit outside by the fire pits with plenty of space, or inside at high-tops or cozy booth-style tables. The whole place feels pretty classy. Our server was really nice but maybe stretched too thin bc she forgot to put our order in and threw away her paper that she wrote it on so she had to come re take our order. We had full intentions of ordering entrees from here but they were out of the main dishes. Just seems like the kitchen manager isn't planning well, staff doesn't have help from management. The only thing keeping this restaurant afloat is the view and the DJ

The First Gentleman was attentive and we got our drinks and an appetizer timely. We ordered our second appetizer with our first server and thats where the service deteriorated. I could hear the table next to us ordered the exact same appetizer as we did 10-15 mins after we did and a new server who must had just clocked in brings them the order literally within 2-3 mins later and the male commented, "oh that was fast" and I thought to myself they got our order. Another 10-15 mins go by and I had to ask "do you know how long our order will take to which she seemed to get annoyed. It could have my energy because by that time I was annoyed. I'm not sure what happened to our original server but he must have gotten off. About 5-10 mins goes by and here it comes. That confirmed the table next to us got our order because of how long it took. They never apologized for their mistake. Doing all that time they never came back to see if we would like another drink. I had to flag someone down. The clincher was we got our bill and there was 22% service charge. That was on me because if I would have seen it I might not have gone. I'm not a fan of automatically charging a service charge. I'm a great tipper but it must be earned. By than I was really annoyed and thought to have a conversation with the manager but let it go. I would not go back. The craft cocktails are spendy but I had no problem with that because they're creative and they earned it by being creative. But the energy and the environment wasn't like the other speak easy bars I visited. It was boring and to top it off the service charge of 22% and the service that came with it sealed it for me. Make sure to read the website on their thought around the 22%.

While reservations aren't technically required, let me save you some heartbreak, make one. They only open reservations six days in advance, and this place fills up faster than brunch spots when the sun comes out in Seattle. Totally worth the planning. The experience starts downstairs at Tavern Law restaurant, where you let the host know you're headed to Needle and Thread. From there, you're directed to a mysterious locked door next to a telephone. Yes, an actual phone. Pick it up, give your reservation name once someone answers, and bam! You're buzzed upstairs like you've just passed a very classy secret test. Once inside, you're greeted and escorted to your seat, and the magic really begins. There's no drink menu because why limit creativity? Instead, the staff plays cocktail therapist, asking about your favorite spirits, flavors, and moods. Based on your answers, they craft a completely custom drink tailored to your palate. Every cocktail we tried was spot-on. Balanced, intentional, and clearly made by people who treat mixology like an art form rather than a guessing game. Bonus points: You can request the coaster they took your order on, which lists the ingredients so you can attempt to recreate it at home (results may vary depending on your confidence and liquor cabinet.) Not to be overshadowed by the drinks, the Sockeye Salmon Crostini was a fantastic fresh, flavorful appetizer and the perfect companion to a night of bespoke cocktails. They have other heartier food as well, but we had dinner reservations elsewhere for the evening. Between the immersive entrance, outstanding service, thoughtful drinks, and authentic speakeasy atmosphere, this isn't just a bar, it's an experience. If you're in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, Needle and Thread is a must try.

Instagram : @yeapeats…read more I was excited to try Needle & Thread since it's often described as a speakeasy, but the "hidden" aspect didn't quite live up to expectations. Unlike other speakeasies that feel truly hidden, you actually just walk into Tavern Law, check in with the hostess, and let them know you have a reservation. They then guide you to a telephone where you repeat your reservation name before being let upstairs. It's a fun concept, but not especially secretive, and they're pretty strict about not letting you up early unless it's very empty. Once seated, we actually waited almost 20 minutes before being served with no acknowledgement. We ended up having to flag down the manager just to bring attention to our table, which was disappointing given the experience they're aiming for. The waitress asks a series of questions about your preferences--likes, dislikes, and flavor inspirations--so the bartenders can create custom cocktails for you. If you're knowledgeable about alcohol, this is probably a dream. If you're not (like me), it can feel a little intimidating, but our waitress was patient and did her best to guide us through it. The drinks themselves were excellent. Even the shots were customized, which was a nice touch. The vibe upstairs is chill and relatively quiet, making it a great place to relax and talk. Food is the same menu as downstairs at Tavern Law, so nothing new there. The only downside--and unfortunately a noticeable one--was an interaction with the female bartender (not our waitress). Based on the questions we were asked, my friend gave a mix of savory and sweet preferences, since we were told these were just inspirations. However, the female bartender came over sounding visibly annoyed and said, "So do you want savory or sweet? You're giving contradicting answers." The tone felt unnecessarily rude, especially since we were just following the process as it was explained to us. Overall, the drinks were great and the concept is unique, but between the delayed service and that negative interaction, it definitely put a damper on the experience.
