This venue is exceptional for so many reasons: not only is it a non-profit venue, but they light over 100 candles for your event and provide so many things that you would typically need to rent at other venues (chairs, tables, glassware, etc.). Also there are so many things for your guests to do in downtown Ballard if your wedding is mainly out-of-town guests like ours was. Nate and the team were so kind and thoughtful throughout the entire process. We are so grateful we had the opportunity to spend our special day at Cathedral Ballard - it was truly so special!!! :)

There is a ground level and an upstairs. Upon coming in staff greeted us and informed us of the going-Ons upstairs. There were 3 bartenders all of whom were very nice. Lots of seating and small music and dancing area. The food was self-serve, buffet style, catered La Cabana. The salsa and guac were good and was nicely laid out. Cathedral donates much of the earnings made from the use of the space and are also known for their candles which I've received as a gift and can say are nicely scented and benefit causes. So, if you see one in a local shop or otherwise it makes a good gift. Not sure they sell them at this actual location of Cathedral though. If you 're looking to host an event or know someone who wants to, Cathedral has a decent space to be rented out with nice staff who will help manage it.

Such a cozy, sweet space, reminiscent of various abbeys and homesteads throughout the city…read more Our first time here, the corner lot looks almost like a house, the only distinguishing feature, a sign outside letting you know you've arrived at your destination. Plenty of street parking, at least on a Sunday evening, and easy street-level entry. Pass through a small lobby space and find yourself in a delightful, square-shaped room with tall ceilings, cozy lighting and a feeling of warmth. A kitchen is available for use to the renters, as is a small stage atop which can be found a standing piano, whose sounds carry beautifully throughout the establishment. The room is large enough to host a number of people, tables, chairs, etc.; yet contained enough to feel warm and full.

Hell, anything attached with the word "wedding" is typically expensive. Truth be told I really wanted to get married in a brewery but that didn't pan out due to unresponsive beer garden managers. I remembered a friend of mine had an art show at the Lakewood Seward Park Community Club years back. As I walked past tables filled with art for sale I looked around the place and thought it was charming. Never again did I think back to the venue until I needed one and my original plans felll through. This was the only place I was going to get hitched at because it was all I needed. While it is rather simple inside, it has charm and potential. The main room is the perfect size for small to medium sized gatherings (it can fit 150 seated people). You have a clean slate to work with, all white walls, a stage, and hardwood floors, and the size is manageable enough that you don't feel overwhelmed. The price is very reasonable considering the cost of other venues. Many similar venues were higher in price. You rent by the hour and included in the rental are tables, chairs, and use of the kitchen. There is a coat room which was converted into a dressing room for my event and the yard to the side of the building is spacious. Another positive is the venue allows dogs inside. The best thing about the clubhouse? Sheila, the venue coordinator. I can't praise her enough! She responded to my e-mails in a timely manner and answered all of my many questions. She was always available to let me view the venue when I was in the planning stages. I couldn't have asked for a better venue to get married in. It fit my now husband and I's vision of having a fun relaxed DIY wedding.

I rented this venue for my son's first birthday celebration and I have nothing but great things to…read moresay about it! Although the price was a bit higher than other venues in the area, I'm glad I chose it. The event space is nice, spacious, and clean. The parking lot accommodates about 40 cars, with additional street parking available. I didn't end up using the kitchen, but it was large and even had an ice maker. There were plenty of tables and chairs provided, which made setup much easier. I toured both the Kent and Renton halls with Dustin, one of the managers, and he was very professional. Kyle, the other manager, was also great - he responded quickly to my texts both the day before and the day of the celebration. I would 100% recommend this venue for weddings, receptions, and other special events!

Two things I did not like:…read more1) they only let you have a rehearsal for an hour between 9 to 4 weekdays which meant anyone working normal business hours or coming from out of town could not make it. 2) Joanna interrupted me during the reception to go over the credit she was giving me. We had scheduled an hour at the end of our rental for clean up (which was plenty of time since we did not serve food) so I don't know why she felt the need to interrupt me during a busy hectic time for something like that.

The highlight of working with this venue is Joanna. She is so incredibly warm and welcoming and focused on creating the event you want. She was available all the time and always answered emails and phone calls promptly. She is flexible and happy to meet and show you around and walk the grounds with you. She also suggested my amazing planner, Julia Pavlovski of Wedding Wise Seattle, and for that I am forever grateful (sorry, shameless plug, but it really was such a great recommendation). When I arrived to Robinswood on the day of, overwhelmed by everything that was going wrong (sooooo many things went wrong) Joanna saw me and gave me a giant hug and it really reassured me that she and the team were going to make sure everything in their power went perfect. And they did. The space is intimate. They say that they can fit over 200 people, but I wouldn't suggest it for over 100-125 as I feel you'd be quite cramped. We wanted an outdoor wedding and as it rained (even though the forecast was only 10% chance!!) on our big day, having the log cabin and awnings was a great relief for ourselves and our guests while the teams were prepping the reception area. The grounds are unique. I am actually a huge fan of the flow from ceremony garden area to cocktail/dancing area to reception area. It kept everyone organized and in one place. Additionally, their staff for day of is really great. We got compliments about the bartender and serving staff. I would say the things to be aware of is a lack of flexibility on their policies. Their policies are their policies and there isn't wiggle room, so if you were hoping to work with a specific caterer who isn't on their list, or serve liquor, or do a sparkler send off, etc be prepared to nix those ideas. In a way, it actually does make it easier for a bride to make decisions by narrowing down the options (trust me future brides, a million options is not always a good thing), but for people who have a very very specific idea in mind, talk to Joanna about those specific ideas before signing your contract to ensure detail you have in mind is allowed. Over all, we are very happy with Robinswood House. It was great for our perfectly imperfect day!

The Rainier Chapter House was perfect for our Capitol Hill wedding reception…read more It's very charming - the main floor has a vintage sitting room vibe with fancy couches, rugs, and a piano, and the upstairs is basically a blank canvas with perfect white walls and beautiful hardwood floors. This allows you to really do want you want with the space! We chose to keep it pretty simple with just some floral centerpieces and it worked wonderfully. Peter and Karen were a joy to work with; they were excellent, quick communicators. As far as wedding/reception venues go in Seattle, this one was really well priced. Loved that tables/chairs/dishes/flatware were included in the price. The only things that may present slight issues are that there is no parking onsite (although lots of parking options close-by), and that the space is maxed out at 160 guests. We had 115 and I think it'd be too crowded to go much higher than that. There's also no elevator for older folks, but there's not too many stairs and they aren't very steep.

The best word I can use to describe this place is magical. There was so many amazing amenities. With a rooftop, and outdoor space on ground level there is a lot of variety - and convertible space for room transitions from event to dance floors. Work with your designers to highlight the modern elements and you'll do well, simple decorations provably shine here over others. The only downside side is the location where the scenery is industrial histories and not as great except on the rooftop. Great cheap parking for the event nearby.

It's an absolutely amazing venue for…read morethrowing a party - so many of our friends had been there before and our high expectations were exceeded! One of the most important things for us was finding a venue "that had a space for everyone" and that's EXACTLY what the Foundry provides. You wanna dance? It's an AWESOME dance floor. Need a breather? Check out the courtyard or the rooftop. Want to be involved but just watch? There are various side-rooms and balconies to check out the action. Of course, another huge pro is that catering is provided in-house, so it made that part of the process so much easier. We also used their list of recommended vendors, all of whom are familiar with the space, and it made set-up on the day of the event an absolute breeze. We do need to respectfully acknowledge that communication with the venue was... a little suspect at times. They experienced a lot of turnover over the past year (as well as some pricing changes), and while we were ultimately very happy with our experience, we hope they can get back to some consistency so that all couples and events get a smooth experience! (A special shoutout to Brittany who stepped in for our last month and really brought things home for us, thanks friend!!) Overall, we are so glad that we picked the Foundry and we hope you consider them for your event!!
