I don't even remember how I found it but I've known that it was THE spot for me the second I discovered it. First off, Kathy and her team are fantastic. It's family-owned and operated and an intimate team, but they made everything seamless for me. The venue is situated along the Skykomish River with views of Mt Index and of course, the stunning rustic bridge! Such a beautiful focal point. Along with having the large outdoor space for the wedding, we also got a tavern space inside that is exactly the vibe that we love. Rustic, cozy, and giving all the PNW vibes. We're super outdoorsy people so this venue was overall THE perfect fit for us. Another huge bonus is that they don't require you to use preferred vendors like most venues do. We were able to bring in whatever food we wanted (we catered a taco bar) which makes it so much easier to customize for yourself and your day. The River House was also a huge help with the alcohol arrangements, from getting all of it directly delivered to setting us up with a bartending team for the wedding. Even on a gloomy Washington day (thank godddd the rain stayed away!!) this was the most beautiful setting for our day. We liked the large windows in the back that showed the trees and forest (our family member who passed was an avid hiker and outdoor lover). There is a kitchen that includes a 30-cup coffee maker, as well as two lovely water dispensers, and much more. There is a large screen with the electronics and speakers to show a slide show or movie. The parking lot is huge, the place is easy to find, right off the road, but it feels peaceful and secluded. The proprietor, Autumn, met us there to go through the electronics and the other details, and before I showed with all my snacks and flowers, she'd already put white tablecloths on all five (huge) tables, and pulled out additional smaller tables for pictures and memorabilia. Everything was spotlessly clean, including a large bathroom and cloakroom. Really, we couldn't have asked for more. I whole-heartedly recommend this venue!

Furniture, lighting, tent, bridal suite, sparklers and grooms room all included. But it is all outdoors - so we were lucky to have perfect weather! Tom is so calm, made sure the wedding day was perfect for us, everything went smoothly and he cleared everything for us after! Max 60 people and budget around $20,000 to have a wedding here just FYI, but definitely worth it! Extremely unique venue and hope to come again!

As part of getting married there, Tom handles all of the wedding details as the day-of planner, though his role goes so far beyond that. He brings his calm and skill to helping us pick vendors, coordinate details that we would have missed with those vendors, and then ensure the contracts look good. He had a schedule and process for ensuring everything was done by our wedding day, flexible enough to be curated to us. On the week of, he took on a lot of the finishing touches and last-second communication with the vendors so that we did not have to worry about. On the day of, he made sure all went smoothly and communicated with all of the vendors and guests where needed. All went smoothly and beautifully. We'd highly recommend Woodinville Lavender!

My husband and I were married at the Barn at Holly Farm in May 2019 (I meant to leave a review…read moresooner but life quickly got in the way). We worked with Karmel as well as a flower vendor (Dirty Girl) and photographers (GSquared) whom Karmel recommended. Part of the reason we were drawn to this venue is because of the good works that they do with equine therapy and rescued farm animals. Our experience with the Barn was fantastic. We really hit it off with Karmel and she made planning the wedding fun and low stress. The vendors she recommended also did a great job and at the end of the day, are just good people. I feel like they all connected with us on a personal level. One fun perk this venue offered is for a small fee someone from the Barn takes guests out to meet some of the animals (chickens, goats, llamas, etc.) during the social hour before the reception. This was a lovely and charming way to start the celebration. I think that what we paid was fair for the service we received. The only snafu at the very end was having to pack our own stuff even though we paid extra for the clean-up service, but it was mostly just our personal belongings and it wasn't a big deal. There's always a little wedding drama - in this case our own guests, and the way that Karmel and vendors went about handling it to reduce the stress on us was beautifully done. They were respectful and discreet and we were incredibly grateful for their support. The space itself on the day of the wedding was absolutely stunning and everything was set up exactly as we had planned. It was a truly magical day and I'm so glad we chose the Barn to get married. I'd do it all over again. :)

TERRIBLE venue management under the guise of a beautiful space…read more In short, three months after signing with The Barn at Holly Farm we were told management would rather start a year of self-initiated renovations than honor their contract with us. Their decision not only affected us, but at least nine other couples who had booked weddings there too. For my fiancé and me, this left us with less than 7 months before the wedding date to find a new venue and re-plan our entire event. It took over a month for us to find a new space that could accommodate our wedding size indoors. To receive a full refund, we were expected to sign a document that stated we wouldn't make any comments which "may, directly or indirectly, disparage" The Barn at Holly Farm (obviously we did not accept those terms). It then took over a month to receive the funds for The Barn's breach of contract. I hope no other couple has to experience The Barn at Holly Farm's mismanagement and the nightmare experience they caused at least 10 couples in 2021!

Dogs are required to be on-leash and signs posted clearly state this but not everyone follows the rules. A man runs/jogs there every day and almost always allows his dog to run off-leash which is an issue and one I did report to staff. I am a dog walker and walk a dog here and this man allowed his dog to come up to the client's dog that I walk, even though I had just told him a few days prior that the dog is fearful. Not okay. Other than that, this is a great place, especially if you enjoy birds and wildlife photography, which I do.

First some nomenclatures: - Brightwater Center is the venue…read morespace that you can rent as well as meeting space and community center, which is located within... - Brightwater Environmental Education and Community Center is the entire facility and open to visits. This is located within... - Brightwater Park is the entire complex including green space. - Brightwater Treatment Plant is located within the park. Phew. I found only Brightwater Center in Yelp, and I decided not to add multiple businesses. Lazy today. Anyway, the parts that we visited are the trails and "ponds" at the North Habitat in the park. The south side looks much smaller according to the map. The ponds are in quotation marks, because they don't look that good currently. Maybe with more rain, they will look more natural. The bigger one, called Lower Pond, is used to manage storm water runoff, which helps the salmon. We followed the Storywalk trail, reading the book "We Are Water Protectors" along this trail. I recommend taking a photo of the site map. Other than the story trail, the paths to the ponds are not as obvious. Lastly, the dahlias are blooming beautifully outside of the center building. On a very hot weekend in July, there were very few people on these trails. Everything is very brown. I highly recommend bringing water because the buildings are closed.

The cottage itself is adorable and was well stocked with the necessities we needed, from the kitchen to the bathroom. A few things are worth knowing before booking, though. The cottage has only one window, located in the extra bedroom with the daybed, and it looks out toward the castle garage. My husband and I really enjoy natural light and having windows around us, so this was something we noticed right away. If that doesn't bother you, it may not be an issue at all. There are also no closets, iron, or ironing board, so you may want to plan accordingly. The biggest disappointment during our stay was waking up to three maintenance vans and quite a bit of noise. We had not been notified ahead of time that work would be taking place, and the crews were there for a couple of days. Because of that, we didn't feel like we could really relax around the property and ended up driving elsewhere when we wanted some peace and quiet. We also would have loved a more inviting outdoor sitting area near the cottage. There is one metal bench out front, but not much lighting. Since we enjoy sitting outside in the evenings, a couple of comfortable chairs, a small table, and some hanging or string lights would have made a huge difference. There is a covered firepit area farther up the hill, but you'll need a flashlight at night and should bring your own firewood. The grounds could also use a little more attention in certain areas. There were quite a few weeds around places that otherwise could have looked really charming and well maintained. Overall, we did enjoy our stay, and the Fairytale Cottage definitely has a lot of charm. It's one of those places where your experience will depend somewhat on what you're looking for and how much time you plan to spend on the property. With a few improvements to the outdoor spaces, grounds, and guest communication when maintenance is scheduled, this property could be even more special.

​The castle itself is undeniably beautiful and full of potential, but our experience was completely…read moreruined by severe infrastructure failures, host misrepresentations, and invasive privacy violations. ​While the estate, scenery, and medieval decor look incredible in photos and upon arrival, the actual living conditions and host management were unacceptable. ​No Running Water / Severe Well Defect: During our stay, the running water completely shut off, leaving my family without working toilets, showers, or sinks. As we later learned, the entire 18-acre property relies on a low-yield private well that recharges at only 30 gallons per hour. Multi-Listing Overcapacity: Despite having a low-yield well, the host operates 5 separate rental units on-site (the Castle, a Cottage, and 3 vintage campers) plus an on-site caretaker residence, potentially housing 15-20 occupants at once. Providing a maximum total of 720 gallons per day for 15+ people is physically insufficient for basic living, leading to inevitable water outages. ​Undisclosed Audio Recording: Following our report of the water issue, the host admitted in writing to reviewing video playback and listening to private audio recorded of my children on the drawbridge. Neither the listing description nor disclosures stated that devices captured audio: a major privacy breach and a violation of Washington State law. When confronted about the water outage, the host attempted to blame guests, claiming in the chat thread that "the tub takes 300+ gallons per bath." According to EPA and plumbing standards, an indoor 2-person spa tub holds 60 to 80 gallons. Exaggerating water capacity by 300%+ to cover up structural well limitations shows a complete lack of honesty and transparency. After being informed of state privacy rules regarding undisclosed audio recording, the host cut off communication and blocked us, rather than addressing the habitability issues in good faith.The property may look like a fairytale from the outside, but operating 5 separate listings on an inadequate water system, combined with illegal audio recording and retaliatory charges, made this stay stressful and unacceptable. I strongly advise future guests to exercise caution before booking.

I will always remember my wedding day as beautiful and stress free because of the services provided by this business. A Chapel on Swan's Trail is a gorgeous venue with an incredibly helpful staff. The Chapel is over 100 years old and located up high on a hill with a beautiful view overlooking the Snohomish valley and downtown Everett. The grounds are gorgeous with lush landscaping and something to see everywhere you look. The best part of the venue, in my opinion, is that it can be held indoor or outdoor. On my wedding day we hoped for an outdoor ceremony but were able to easily move the ceremony indoors once we saw the rain was not giving up. We moved indoor for the ceremony but the rain broke and we were still able to have the reception outdoors. Lynn, the owner of the Chapel, seriously took the weight off of me in helping figure out all of the details in planning and she took lead on the day of. The first time I went to the chapel to meet with Lynn I was overwhelmed and after leaving I felt like things were making sense and everything was under control. Lynn even recommended our pastor, Reuben Sapien, whom everyone loved. She was able to provide all of the linens on site and even provided staff to help throughout the wedding day and (which was huge) a cleanup crew so we did not have to worry about that. If you are searching for a venue, take the time to meet with Lynn and tour the property yourself and you will see the care that goes into planning your day and into the property to make it special.
