I attended a wedding here last weekend (hi Ian & ebe!!!!) It was a beautiful venue; from the moment I stepped in, I was enchanted. The decor is artsy and funky, from the gorgeous lights dangling from the rafters to the unexpected "Chow Mein" sign in the prep room. A number of guests commented on how cool the interior bricks were, a statement with which I agree. Possibly the best selling point for a wedding, however, is the mezzanine and staircase. As soon as the guests were seated, we were all excitedly asking one another in hushed tones if the bride was going to come down the staircase. Sure enough, she did, and it was a moment of utter loveliness. That's a princess moment, right there, and if you're reading this because you're a couple considering this venue for a wedding - that moment may be worth it. read more

Bad communication from the staff. They do not return phone calls or emails promptly. They never answer the business phone. My wedding is in a couple weeks and I need to finalize the details and can never get through. I will update my rating after the wedding, but so far this is my rating based upon the communication of the staff. Update: I updated my 1 star to a 3 star review. My wedding turned out amazing. I am still upset about the horrible communication. The cost of the venue plus all the "add ons" added up quick after the initial contract. I think they closed the doors too early as well on us. read more

Weddings make me feel strange. I'm not into monogamy. I don't like that only hetero people get to wed. Although I think a few of my friends will have lasting life partnerships, I'd be surprised if most of their marriages last 5 years. So I'm usually the person who's getting weird looks from the older family members while I'm tossing back drink after drink at the bar to assuage my anxiety. Weddings also make me feel old, and then I feel like I'm pretending to be an adult and that's weird. So it was a surprise when I came here for a friend's wedding and immediately felt both comfortable and impressed. What a beautiful venue. And it's not beautiful in the you-feel-underdressed way, its kitschy uniqueness makes you feel beautiful in the you-are-perfect-just-the-way-you-are way. I wish I'd taken pictures... I hadn't brought my camera. Our friends had catering by Skillet and I'm not sure who was doing the drinks, but they were strawberry basil puree and quite tasty. If I believed in all that marriage stuff, I'd want to do it at the Georgetown Ballroom too. read more

Awesome space, not so great parking... I recently came here for my little cousins wedding, it's a really cool venue that held all 350 of us nicely. The decor is great, nice vintage feel. read more

I recently got married at Georgetown Ballroom and it was the most amazing day ever and even more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. Danielle and her staff were absolutely incredible to work. We had to postpone twice due to Covid and she was always responsive and helpful as we were selecting a new date and making changes. They had every single precaution and option thought through so that we didn't have to worry about a thing. A week before our wedding, the mask mandate was reinstated which caused us to make many last minute changes. Danielle and her team were so wonderful working through what we could do to be safe. Initially I was upset because it wasn't exactly what I envisioned, but on the day of, I wouldn't have had it any other way. It was the most perfect day and worked out exactly how it was meant to be. Danielle was super helpful setting things up for the day for us and working with our vendors to ensure everyone was on time and had what they needed. The food was also absolutely delicious and we heard so many rave reviews from our guests! "Best food ever!" We would choose Georgetown Ballroom a thousand times over for our wedding day!! read more

Absolutely love this place.. Went to Erin Bs wedding last weekend and I must say.. this place is chock full of character. If you see Erins review.. you will see what I am talking about.. This is an excellent place for any sort of party in Seattle. It's perfectly quirky, but amazingly well taken care of. The staff was super helpful leading up to and during our wedding. The best part is that the facility seems to keep getting better. Since the time we reserved, they have added windows, chandeliers, and upgraded the kitchen. I'm sure the owner will continue to improve it. He really seems to enjoy running the business. read more

Amazing venue, helpful staff, beautiful night. Denise and Justice were so helpful and accommodating during our wedding planning process. We were unable to get into the venue the night before the wedding because they were booked for another event, but were very flexible with scheduling a time for us to come earlier that week. I went with my two bridesmaids and wedding planner (which was actually way easier because you're not herding cats to get everyone organized!) and it was perfect. A few things to be aware of (but the venue is still totally worth it) - pretty much everything is a la carte. working with anyone at the venue is super helpful because it allows you to figure out what you need and what the cost will be, in addition to the rental space. -they can't guarantee the rehearsal the night before, but this wasn't an issue for us (see above) - they are basically the best venue in Seattle, in my opinion :) read more

My mother and I hired The Willows Catering for my wedding reception at Georgetown Ballroom last month. The bottom line is that everyone, EVERYONE I talked to about the wedding afterward mentioned the food. Not just that it was great, but that it was the best food they'd ever eaten at a wedding. I heartily agree. It was like Thanksgiving - delicious, soul-satisfying food in large portions, all made with love. Erin, who heads up the Willows team, was a complete sweetheart through every stage of the planning process. She was sweet, patient, organized, and always available for questions. She helped us come up with a menu we loved and could afford. She was very open to our ideas, had some clever ones of her own to make things run smoothly. Because we were working with Georgetown Ballroom's in-house caterer, renting linens, tables, and chairs was a breeze. We were going to buy our own alcohol and have the bartenders serve it, but we ended up buying it through the Willows because their prices were reasonable, it saved us tons of time not to deal with the hassle, and we knew that we were in good hands. I mean, the bride and groom ate! Lots! We were full by the end of the night. As soon as I arrived at my reception and had a moment to put my veil away, Erin got me a glass of wine. Members of the Willows staff came by several times with the appetizer trays while I was talking to people, and they made sure that the bride and groom were the first ones through the buffet line. My mother felt that the whole experience exceeded her expectations, too. She almost cried when she first saw the dining room and how beautifully it was set up. Brava, Willows! read more

Update - it was as good as I expected! I highly recommend the Georgetown Ballroom for any event. Our wedding was awesome (although I may be a bit biased). read more

I'll admit it. I was skeptical about having a memorial service at the Georgetown Ballroom. The pictures posted looked just too hipster, a retro nightclub vibe. Great for a bride or bachelor party, a wedding on a summer afternoon, but something at the other end of the spectrum? Jerry, Danielle, and Josh were terrific partners in making everything work, advising and accommodating our walk-through and set-up. And Keith's buffet was a big hit for our diverse demographic. There are multiple entrances, and a very handy back courtyard for pulling into and unloading wheelchaired guests, big gear, floral arrangements. The ground floor has a nice front alcove for greeting guests, a long rack for coat check. There's two levels to the main floor, which helps to bring a degree of coziness to the place. Skylights in the ceiling of the main room can be shuttered as needed to control light. There's a small upstairs sitting room overlooking the main room on the lower level; an appealing retreat for a breather (or a quick, bracing nip). All in all, a very flexible and classy space from what was originally a very old garage. The Georgetown Ballroom provides a one-stop event service, that was so easy to work with and proved itself a winner. Thank you! read more

GTB is a TREMENDOUS space. The north side works perfect for a party, the south side for dinner, and the courtyard for fresh air when the weather's nice. I've been there for everything from weddings to non-profit fundraisers and it's always a great time. Which speaks to the versatility and character of the building. And the staff is always helpful and down-to-Earth. read more

Where do I start? We booked our wedding for April 2020, and due to COVID, of course had to postpone. Well, the GTB let us postpone THREE TIMES without penalties or fees. They were so freaking accommodating. And that's just the icing. Venue - it's just classy. The only additional decorations we had were centerpieces. The venue is great as is. Big colorful lanterns, exposed brick walls, giant red velvet curtains... Industrial chic, maybe? Regardless, it's stylish and unpretentious. The upstairs areas that we used for bride/groom are big and comfy, couches, etc. Food - everyone gushed about how good the food was. And I loved it. Beef was cooked to juicy perfection. Two salads - green and a kale Caesar, also delicious. All the hors d'oeuvres were amazing. Shout out to twice baked stuffed potatoes. Service - out-f***ing-standing. Attentive, communicative, and really nice. They checked vaccination cards, which was relieving - they are following the governor's mandates, and though yes, masks are annoying, I prefer them to giving my 75+ old family COVID and killing them, you know? Hard yes to recommend to others. read more

This is such a fun, gorgeous venue!! We had our wedding here last weekend and it was everything I dreamed of! The space is so visual and beautiful that we didn't need to do much else with decorations. The lights in the theatre room are so picturesque and all of our friends and family loved them! The staff was super helpful from the very beginning. They helped us finalize a timeline and always got back to our emails right away! No question was too small and Lauren and team really went above and beyond to make our day special! The food and bar service was also superb! They had tons of options to chose from so that we could easily customize to our vision! The hot dog truck at the end of the night was such a fun touch! If you're looking for a venue, I highly recommend the GTB!!! It was perfect!! read more

My husband and I were married at Georgetown Ballroom in August 2019. WE LOVED IT. The venue is of course unique and special. The food was spectacular. There is parking for guests nearby. There is on site décor. And there is Danielle, the Director of Operations and Day-of Coordinator. I'm sure we would have loved our wedding just based on the venue, but Danielle is the reason we had the wedding of our dreams. She was always available to answer questions, make things clear, keep track of all the small details, bounce ideas of off, and make sure we were happy with everything. She's truly wonderful and we can't imagine how the day would have gone without her. There are two large rooms, one for dining and one for dancing with a bar in each room. They have a beautiful brick wall with Chinese lanterns, tons of cool vintage signs. They also have a back patio where you hold the ceremony, as we did. It was honestly perfect (though you do encounter some plane noise, which didn't bother us but did bother some of our older guests). We would pick this venue over and over again without hesitation based on the ambiance and décor alone. They have décor on site you are able to use. There are tons of possibilities if you want to get creative or if you, like I, want simplicity, they have a great baseline for decorations. The food was, simply, delicious. We had passed appetizers during cocktail hour and family style dinner to encourage guest interaction. I noticed a lot of clean plates and I myself ate as much as I could before being whisked away. We had a relatively good number of vegans/vegetarians/other accommodation plates which were all handled without any hiccups and we were told those dishes were also full of flavor. We hope to attend a wedding or some other event at GTB to be on the other end! We can't thank the whole team enough for a flawless day. read more

Came here for a private event and was impressed. Great building, great space, plenty of parking, restrooms located in multiple spots, two bars, two lofts, a courtyard and a big indoor space. The staff was amazing, especially the bartenders. Just overall friendly and nice, actually interested in you as a person and remembering you even though there's 300 others in the room. Great stage space. Just overall wonderful. read more

I stumbled upon this place when I first got engaged but never got the chance to check it out because schedule-wise, it just didn't work out. The place did attract me though via the pictures because it just looked like such a cool venue! The decor really stood out to me and the fact it can hold quite a big group of people. We recently came here for a friend's wedding and wow, this place was even better in person! I love the vintage feel of the place and it's located in such a cool neighborhood too. The thing that holds me back mainly is the price for renting this place. Though you don't really need decorations since this place is wonderfully decorated already, it was just a bit much for me, especially considering we won't be having a really large wedding. Great place though! read more

I booked Georgetown Ballroom for team holiday party for work, and I could not be happier with how everything went. From the initial venue tour until after the event, the level of customer service was exceptional. My contact at GTB was responsive and very helpful. I loved that everything needed for our event could be or was provided in-house - and the quality was top notch. We were able to customize a menu that met all of our needs and received rave reviews from our staff. The venue itself is incredibly beautiful and needed no additional décor - a factor that was very important to me because in previous years at different venues I had to do quiet a bit of decorating. We were also able to incorporate some games to add to the fun of the event. Our team members loved the yard games in the courtyard! The only real concern that I had going into the event was parking, which can be challenging in Seattle. GTB had that covered as well though! They have a few lots available to guests and you are able to reserve a pay lot for a small fee where guests can park when provided with parking tickets. We consider this event to have been a glowing success and are planning on holding future events at Georgetown Ballroom. read more

Historic Seattle hosted our Preservation Celebration at the Georgetown Ballroom for the first time this year. As we continue to feature a new neighborhood each year, it was wonderful starting with Georgetown. The venue perfectly captured the spirit of the neighborhood. Winter Wonderland, Enchanted Forest, or Midnight in Paris - Georgetown Ballroom can have it all. What a fantastic space. I've been here a couple of times for fundraisers and each time they have been able to create a magical and enchanted atmosphere. My only complaint is parking - there isn't much. The room can be split into 2 sections. They have a private bar, catering options, and 2 stages. For both the events that I attended, they had a party in one section and sit-down dinner on the other side. I want to say each room holds 100-150 people, but I would call and confirm. As I mentioned, I've only been here for fundraisers and felt that there was a lot of room to move around and dance, while being comfortable. To rent the space and for pricing, I strongly recommend calling the venue and visiting. read more

The Georgetown Ballroom is a gorgeous venue well suited for wedding receptions and similar celebrations. I had the honor of working as a bartender during a good friend's wedding reception this weekend and I know firsthand how great this place is. The layout is spacious and well designed; the staff is professional, very helpful and welcoming. The acoustics in the dancing area is perfect, the lighting set the mood and the ventilation was adequate. I can see how some people might complain about the limited parking situation, but I don't believe the blame should be place on the Ballroom at all. I really appreciated how the Georgetown Ballroom tries to use the limited space around their venue for the parking needs of the guests. They had several small lots set aside surrounding the block that were well marked as well as some street parking. read more

We recently had our wedding ceremony with a mini reception at Georgetown Ballroom and I can't thank them enough for all the help with planning our wedding especially in these Covid times. Leading up to the wedding, I was a bit anxious with how things would turn out but with their help, especially Danielle, it was such a perfect day AND everyone, EVERYONE enjoyed their time at the Ballroom especially with how kind and attentive the staff was! I visited the ballroom with an event with my theatre/school and was happy to have had an opportunity to see this lovely spot. There was plenty of exposed brick, which I like, and I could see this location as being perfect for anything from weddings to birthday parties. I hope I have a reason to visit, again, soon! read more

My now husband and I recently had our wedding in October of 2022 at Georgetown Ballroom. We have nothing but positive things to say about working with the great folks there. Our venue manager Nancy especially made everything so easy and fun to plan. Every one of our guests we spoke to afterwards raved about the food, the vibes, and how polite and helpful all of the staff were throughout the night. Choosing a place that had in-house catering made the planning process a lot easier, and we were still able to personalize the event to a degree that felt just right for us. To be honest, the venue speaks for itself. Exposed brick, colorful lanterns, and plenty of interesting vintage artifacts allowed us to do very little else for decorations. We brought in our own floral arrangements and that was it. But truly, the best part was the staff and knowing that our special night was in good hands. Cannot recommend highly enough! read more

I loved the Georgetown ballroom. I shot a wedding their a few weeks ago and this place has as much character as anywhere I have ever shot. Great lighting, funky interior, a sweet alley to photograph in and an incredible layout all around. Definitely worth looking into for an indoor wedding reception local around down town. In my opinion this is one of the top indoor reception destinations in the north west. Jason Koenig, jkoephoto.com read more

Thought it was going to be nice with room set ups but they tried to nickel and dime you to death, like at end of wedding reception they told couple they could not use the dumpsters for trash or they would charge them $300, otherwise they needed to take all trash bags with them- are you kidding, that is as low as you can get! read more

EXPENSIVE, BUT WORTH IT! We got married at the Georgetown Ballroom on 03/17/12. It was definitely at the high end of our price range, but because the venue is so absolutely stunning we decided to make it work with our budget. The rental rate was $4,300 but you have to keep in mind that the advertised price is not all-inclusive. Read your contract carefully and make sure you understand exactly what is included and what you will have to pay extra for. For example, our contract included use of the convection oven. But come to find out, that line item only included their OLD convection oven, and we would need to pay several hundred dollars extra to use the NEW convection oven. We were also told verbally that use of the projector and screen would be included, but when it came down to it, it wasn't in the contract and we had to pay extra. We ended up paying an additional $1,800 for extra rentals and an hour of extra time, and saved a few hundred dollars because our caterers took care of the garbage and recycling for us (otherwise we would have had to pay for that, too). It does seem like they make money on the "extras" so just read your contract carefully to understand upfront what you're getting yourself into. We also were unclear on the venue capacity. We were originally told that it holds up to 400 people, so we didn't worry about our guest list at all. However, after we had invited more than 250 guests we found out that the side of the venue we planned on serving dinner in can only seat 200 guests. Our other guests would need to sit in a different room! We were not happy about this but they wouldn't budge on the capacity issue. However, we ended up with a final count of 210, which we were able to fit in the room. It was actually a bit crowded, so in hindsight I understand why they have the capacity limits. Even though we butted heads a bit on the details with Justice, the Venue Manager, in the end we were really happy with the Georgetown Ballroom. During our rehearsal, we found out that the rental company supplying our linens and other items had canceled without reason or notice. Justice allowed us to stay past our allotted time to deal with the issue, and she was really helpful offering suggestions of local vendors. On the day of our wedding everything went super smoothly and the Event Facilitators provided by the Georgetown Ballroom were great. The look and feel of the space was amazing and with a few of our own editions it worked great for the style of our St. Patrick's Day wedding. read more

i don't know how much it was to rent this venue so i can't speak on that but if you're looking for a funky, intimate little spot for an event, consider this place! i came for my lil cousin's wedding on saturday and i can't believe i'd never seen this place before. i literally went to high school up the hill (cleveland eagles! woot woot) and must have driven by whatever this was before a million times. location is convenient, though there's no big sign out front, you may drive right past it if you're not paying attention, and there's parking on the street (possibly a lot too but i found something out front so i dunno). from the outside, it's kind of non-descript but upon entering, you're greeted with a rustic and warm decor. exposed bricks, kitschy throw back seattle knick knacks, gentle lighting all combine to create an intimate atmosphere, even when you're out back on the little patio area. it's great for photo shoots if you're doing a wedding. the place isn't huge so if you've got a large crowd, bear that in mind. food was pretty good during both the cocktail hour and the reception which was catered by the folks at the venue. cocktail hour was deviled eggs and some kinda deep fried ball, mebbe polenta? i can't remember (damn you, alcohol! why you mess up my brain?) both were delicious and popular with our savage family. the main dish for dinner was a HUGE seafood paella that they cooked outside on the patio. it was fun to watch and built up a mouth watering anticipation. service was prompt and friendly which made everything enjoyable. i'm not sure when i'd be back here again myself but if someone were to ask about venues, i'd recommend. read more

FINALLY, I can review the GTB now that my wedding is said and done. When I was first searching for a venue I stumbled upon the ballroom and after our first walk through I didn't want to go anyplace else. The space rental is a bit pricey (part of my reason for 4 stars), but for what you get it kind of evens out. There's practically no decorating needed! The signs, lanterns, brick, wood, etc. all liven the place up so much that we only added flowers and linens to make it personalized. An area of improvement would be the amount of contact we had with the staff. I feel that the time it took to hear back via email was a bit long. I get that there are only a few people that run the place, but when you're business is all based on time, things should be a bit more prompt. One more thing would be on the day of my actual wedding, I found it hard to track down the event staff to ask important set up questions. I found myself a bit flustered when my DJ and caterers are asking me questions that the GTB staff are supposed to answer, and they are nowhere to be found. BUT, with a bit of running around we tracked them down and everything went quite seamlessly. Your photographer(s) will have a blast here. There are so many vantage points for great pics. The lighting is fantastic and there are so many cute/quirky decorations to pose infront of. I hope I get to attend a party/wedding/whatever here, when I'm not the one planning it, haha! read more

A friend of mine fell in love with this place (how could you not?), and booked her big day. To make a long story short they gave her day away without getting ahold of her! They called her old house number, that has been disconnected for a year and decided that would suffice. Disreguarding the fact that they had OTHER forms of contact ( E-mail addresses aswell as other telephone numbers ). When she contacted them about making a payment they informed her no further payment would be neccesary because her date had been given away. The receptionist told her that they "tried" to get ahold of her, but when asked why she didnt use the other contact info she replied "well..reguardless". The lady was oh-so-polite enough to inform her that if she wanted to REBOOK her wedding date that the prices have went up. Seriously? It's unfortunate that they acted in such a careless manner. I am all over dissapointed, and will not be recommending this place to any of my friends or family for future weddings and/or events. The only reason I graced them with 2 stars instead of 1 is simply because the venue itself is just beautiful. read more

Recently attended a wedding at the Georgetown Ballroom, and what a gem of a place. Perfect for just about any party. Parking was the only challenge for most guest, but all managed to find a spot. They cater or let you bring your own caterer. For the wedding the venue catered and it tasted like home cooked food versus banquets food. The staff was friendly, efficient and attentive. The standing decor is rustic chic, with exposed brick and well-appointed, with authentic vintage decor (old wooden boxes, 40's style luggage, etc.) and Asian-inspired decor. Sounds like an odd mash-up, but it works well. The space is very transformational. The wedding was accomplished in four major phases - ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. The venue include three distinct spaces (two inside and a quaint outside courtyard). Within minutes of the ceremony ending, the ceremony space was quickly transformed into a space that worked for both the cocktail hour and the dancing for later. Awesome venue. read more

I was tasked with planning a company gathering for 100 people and had a limited budget, but wanted a venue with a cool Seattle vibe. I called and emailed close to a dozen well-reviewed event spaces and Georgetown Ballroom was one of only a few that 1. had an actual person answer their phone (some places never returned my calls at all or did so days or weeks later) and 2. was willing to work with me on my budget. They were always promptly responsive with communications and knowledgable and helpful during the walk-through offering suggestions and tips as I figured out how to best set up the space. The day of the event the staff were all pleasant, well prepared, and able to help me with the set up and running of AV equipment. Best of all, the attendees raved about the venue.
