Such a fun Friday night this weekend at Aerlume! Upon arrival, the space is so unique and has an upscale feel. We sat at the communal fire table to get happy hour and ended up staying there for our whole dining experience! The only downside of this place was the service, it wasn't bad but it just seemed like the communication was off. It took 10+ minutes for a server to realize we were sitting at the table waiting for help. We experienced the same when we were done with the meal- We had to ask multiple people for the check. (When the service fee is built in to the already pricey menu, it hurts to pay the 20% when the service isn't seamless). Besides the point, the food and drink exceeded expectations, enough for 5 stars and not 4. The happy hour Peruvian steak bites, tuna poke and beet salad were all a tasty start to our evening. We also got the HH dirty martini and manhattan which were beautiful and good value for the quality. For our main we split the grilled octopus, black cod and the carrots. The octopus was the shining star in my opinion. But that was until we ordered dessert- the pecan tart with mascarpone ice cream and orange- hinted whipped cream was something I will be thinking of for a long time. read more

We have been here several times because of the Reveler's Club great loyalty program with a $75 gift for your birthday. We really enjoy the view at this particular restaurant in their portfolio. The service is usually great and it did not disappoint this time either. The food has always been good to excellent but this time it was all five star wonderful! The bread was soft but still had a good chew. It was accompanied by a miso orange butter that was so fun. We got the beet salad because we always enjoy beets--the goat cheese was a bit firm but softened up and was spiced nicely. The green salad was nicely dressed with a light lime vinaigrette and quinoa added some texture. There was citrus in all of these dishes, but we love citrus. Then we had a halibut dish that was done perfectly. No dry fish here. It was accompanied by broccolini and pickled peppers, which we loved (so much so that we also got a side of the same). And then we also shared the pork shank. I often don't enjoy hunks of meat but the chef plated it with fried brussel sprouts with a spicy sauce that livened the dish right up. Fried vermicelli made the plate look nice and were like chips to nibble on. We ended the meal with a banana bread special (on the house for my birthday) with ice cream and caramel sauce. A handful of restaurants in Seattle still abuse the generous transition law to help restaurants as we ended minimum wage on tip work. Here you get punch with a 20% pre-tax (so 34%) irrespective of the experience. They know cruise ship tourists will double tip. As a result they are closed 2 days a week, close at 9 pm and are not open for lunch. Show up at 8:30 pm and get grumbles. They have a patio in front but no one to service it, so wave your hands. The happy hour is misleading, the portions were halved. The small filet is $75 so with an appetizer, a drink, you can't walk out under $200. The view is nice but Maximilian, Matt's, Cafe Campagne or Place Pigale all four a block away have a better view and don't hit you with the Seattle surprise. Don't try to show outrage or question your mandatory generosity, they kicked me out and stole the $200 bottle of wine I could not finish. read more

The Service is exceptional to match the breathtaking view of the lake. We were personally greeted by the Chef and given a great introduction to the menu of the day. My party was pleased with each item ordered and all appetizers shared. With that being said, you can't go wrong with your choice. All meats are tender, fish is fresh, and vegetarian items are delicious. Dessert- Banana pudding is topped with Raspberry sorbet and pecans. Went here to celebrate our anniversary here. The ambience is nice with the sea view. Good option for a date night as well. We liked the bread basket and the pickled beetroot dish. Vegetarian main options were limited, we tried the tofu and spaghetti both were ok taste wise won't classify as amazing. They should provide more vegetarian/vegan flavourful options. My first visit to Aerlume did not disappoint in the least. A couple of us were residents of Seattle with the other three being work colleagues from other areas of the country. We were lucky enough to be seated along the back windows where we enjoyed the magnificent mountain, water and sunset view. We shared a handful of starters ranging from octopus to seasonal salads, all of which were fantastic! Everyone was very pleased with their entrees, which were primarily seafood. I ordered a filet, which was not as tender as I would have hoped so I will lean more toward seafood on my next visit as well. I completely understand why this restaurant is popular with the business crowd--It's the kind of place you take clients to close a deal. For the rest of us, Aerlume is the place you go to after you've saved your dollars for a few months to treat someone special to a special dinner. Took my girl here for her 50th birthday. When we arrived, I snuck the hostess a card to place on the table before we were seated (she played it perfectly.) We were seated at a corner-ish table with fabulous view of Elliott Bay and had a lovely cocktail placed in front of us before we finished perusing the menu. We ordered appetizers, mains, and dessert and every bite was simply mouth-watering. Our waiter was absolutely awesome, even offered to take our photo out on the balcony and patiently composed a memento of our evening. This place is upupupscale and everything from the service to the ambience to the meal tipped the scales at, just, WOW. read more

We went to Aerlume for dinner and it was our first visit. The overall impression was great. They have a small balcony for outdoor seating with great view of the surrounding area. The interior decoration is modern with an open kitchen. We made our reservation online and was led to our seat right away. Many people there seem to be celebrating anniversary or birthday and the staff would prepare table with special flower petals and cards. We ordered bread and butter with fried cauliflower and both were good. We especially loved the bread and butter. They came with two types of bread, one has rosemary in it while the other was brioche. The herbal butter that came with the bread was very tasty too. For the main course we chose pork porterhouse and Alaska wild caught cod. The cod was really well done. It was cooked but still extremely tender. Pork porterhouse was not as good in comparison. The meat was a little too hard and the accompany garnish a little too sweat. We also ordered cocktail and they were both very good. I especially liked Lost in the Market with activated charcoal. Overall I would say this is a very nice place that I would love to visit again in another season since they change their menu every season to use whatever fresh produce available. My only complain is the noise level in the restaurant but that's not something the restaurant has control over. People there just seem to talk very loud for some reason. read more

We made reservations at Aerlume for an anniversary dinner. The whole process was very easy and swift. On the day, we were given a table overlooking the lake and loved the view. For appetizers we got the pea soup, the dungeness crab salad and the monthly special smoked salmon pasta. For the main and dessert we got the grilled halibut and the carrot cake with pistachio ice cream. The pea soup and the carrot cake were our favorites! Their staff is very helpful and friendly and made sure to check-in with us after each course. This is now one of my favorite spots for date night or a relaxed meal with friends. The waterfront location makes for a dramatic sunset views of Puget Sound. The space has a beautiful and relaxing ambience. I recommend making advanced reservations as this is a popular spot especially in the weekends. The menu highlights the flavors of the Pacific Northwest. Aerlume partners with local farms and their menu items show it. We started with a round of pre-dinner cocktails and ordered a Vesper Martini and Negroni. We ordered the grilled Spanish octopus and essential bakery bread & butter. The octopus was tender and served with lamb sausage, green humus, and chimichurri. The brioche bread was served with a delicious cranberry fig butter and quickly disappeared in just a few bites. For our main course, we ordered the wild Alaskan black cod and Heritage Berkshire Farms pork shank. We also ordered a bottle of Tattinger to share. The cod was perfectly cooked. There was a nice hint of lemon and pepper flavors. I especially liked the texture of the crispy skin. The pork shank was fork tender and the citrus mustard jus had an amazing depth of flavor. Dessert should not be missed. I ordered the carrot cake which came with a generous scoop of pistachio ice cream. Service was simply phenomenal. Went here for my 1yr anniversary with my boyfriend, and it was amazing! The staff was so kind, food was FANTASTIC, the view was equally beautiful. Initially we had requested outside seating since the weather was going to be nice but it ended up being too bright/hot (anniversary is early July) so we asked to be switched inside and they were kind enough to accommodate that. I'd only make a suggestion to put some sort of shade for outside to protect from the heat/sun. The fact that they included a small card with a congrats and some scattered rose petals was a very nice surprise. It's really the little things that make a difference. It IS pricey (our bill came to around $300ish for the two of us) for sure and definitely special occasion only for us but it is well worth it. If you want your bill to be a bit lower, limit your drinks, lol. Our 2yr anniversary is coming up on July 9th and we've made reservations here again (not outside though!). I was eager to try the food because it seems fresh and looks good. I got the vegan goat cheese pasta, which was good but a little salty and really not enough food for the price. If you are considering Aerlume for a special night out, it is a great decision. I had a reservation for a larger group. After making the reservation, the hotel sold out all of the remaining space, Scott the GM called me to warn that the experience might be different than what I expected. He was right, it was BETTER! But I appreciate him giving me the heads-up that ot could be a little louder with the other parties. We didn't have a view of the water at our table, but some of my group are real foodies and appreciated watching the kitchen work it's magic. The food and service was Amazing. Staff members frequently came by to say check on us, gave fantastic food and drink recommendations, freashened plate and napkins as necessary, phenomenal all the way around. My dinner party were mostly out-of-towners with whom I have business and personal relationships with. The restaurant really made us feel valued, and made me look good for making a great choice for our dinner. I can't wait to dine here again soon! Side note, I noticed Scott, the GM, interact with his staff. I thought it was real sweet that even in the busyness of a full house and events, he took time out to compliment each team member and plug in to assist folks. Real class act there. read more

The restaurant is beautiful with amazing water view, the interior design is very modern and always love the open kitchen setting. Service always on point, but the price is there too. The food is not very consistent, but overall not bad. There is one time my steak too salty, but another time they have done it perfectly. My favorite dish is the poke and side dish mushrooms. We came here for an early and late birthday celebration. It was amazing. I ordered the filet mignon with mashed potatoes and it was the perfect portion for a meal. The meat was perfectly cooked to medium rare and melted in my mouth. The cauliflower appetizer was also perfectly cooked and had a tasty sauce accompanying it. I ordered a non alcoholic drink that tasted so refreshing. It has cucumber in it as well.
