    Biscuits and gravy
    Sarah H.

My group of 6 went out to eat here for brunch on a Sunday. We didn't make a reservation so we waited about 15 mins for a table. I get biscuits and gravy often when I get breakfast/brunch so I opted to get it here as well. It was okay, nothing special about the biscuits and the gravy wasn't that flavorful. I enjoyed the potatoes, but overall it didn't stand out to me. The restaurant was nice and the service was friendly. There is also only street parking for this location. If I were to come again I'd definitely try something else.

    Avocado toast
    Jacquelyn M.

The food came 55 minutes after being ordered and was cold while the restaurant was mostly empty. I ordered avocado toast and the bread wasn't toasted, the Avocado tasted like it was fermented and very very sour. It wasn't the waitstaff's fault. They were very attentive about refilling coffee.

Finally got to visit this new to the neighborhood breakfast place. We used to go to the Northgate place but they've closed there. This new location is clean, roomy and has more light than Northgate location. I had the smoked pork breakfast and my wife had her usual 1 egg bfast. I was a little surprised by the smoked pork which was a thick sliced of pork belly braised in adobo sauce. Not really smoked but tasty nonetheless. Service was alright. We were there early so only one server up front although she was talking in the back for a little while before coming out. Maybe a bell or something to notify staff of new customers.

    Hawaiian Ono Grill (brunch)
    Christie L.

My boyfriend and I were excited to check out this new brunch spot that opened up near UVillage while we were getting our oil changed at Grease Monkey. Located on 25th Ave near UVillage, they offer some parking in the back, but I mostly saw street parking outside. When we walked in we noticed how large the restaurant was. They have plenty of tables available and it definitely gave off a cozy diner vibe. Something that disappointed us about this experience was the service. When we got there, it took about 15-20 minutes before anyone helped us out/took our order. After that, it took an additional 45 minutes before our food came out. Whenever we did have the chance to talk to a server they were very sweet and welcoming, but it was disappointing how we were mostly neglected aside from our few interactions with them. In terms of food, we ordered the Hawaiian Ono grill for lunch and shared it between the two of us. It came with a hashbrown, spam, various sausages, bacon, sweet rolls, and three eggs that we got sunny side up. The portion sizes were huge so it definitely left both of us feeling full. The sausages were very flavorful and juicy, and I loved the added grilled pineapple on top. I will say there was very little about the dish that made it feel Hawaiian aside from the pineapple, but it's probably just because of what we ordered. The hashbrowns were good, however, it was extremely buttery so it depends on whether or not you like that. The dish overall was very heavy and greasy so I'm not sure whether I would get that one again. Overall, I'm sad to say I probably will not be trying this spot out again any time soon. I wish them the best of luck though with their new opening!

I don't know if I've ever consumed so much sugar in as short of a time period as I did here On each piece (that already came with powdered sugar) I spread whipped cream, poured syrup, and ate with butter Being french toast itself has some strong built in advantages - so I can really only compare this against other french toast So while I do wish there was something more solid with this meal - I did know what I was ordering going in The portion size was really good - there were three pretty decent-sized pieces of bread Each piece had an interior that was nice and fluffy but a bit too airy for me - I would've prefered a more solid interior of the bread Eating the toast didn't feel like you were eating something with weight behind it - it felt light - even though the three slices added up to make you full Going off that, the outside of the bread was pretty soft as well - I would've liked it to be more crispy As for the toppings - I thought the syrup was quite good - it complemented the top side of the bread in a nice way Similarly, the whipped cream added a pretty good flavor to the top. It also helped a good amount with the strawberries The butter I'm not sure on. It was hard to spread given the softness of the toast - and I could see that any attempt to spread it would result in the toast breaking apart. Eventually I decided to break off small pieces of butter and eat them at the same time as my toast bite.

The service was decent, but when we asked questions about the menu, our server didn't seem very familiar with it, which made ordering a bit less smooth. Unfortunately, the overall atmosphere didn't feel as clean or inviting as the Ballard and SLU locations, and that impacted the experience for me. Because of that, I probably wouldn't return to this location, though I'd still visit the others.

We had a grand time enjoying the appetizers including burrata, French fries, and focaccia. Everyone went crazy for the fries. Burrata was placed on top of spice-roasted delicata squash and topped with apple balsamic, pomegranate, hazelnut with a side of toasted baguette. I thought the burrata was the best dish out of all. For entree, I had braised short rib with pappardelle port cream sauce, blistered tomato, and sage. I thought the sage had an interesting flavor - it tasted like it was roasted to a crisp. On the other hand, I probably should've gotten something else because I don't really like sweet pasta dishes, and port cream sauce was exactly that. The combination of short rib and pappardelle felt kind of excessive and I was struggling to swallow at times. I appreciate that I had the opportunity to try several dishes during a work event so I didn't have to shell out for the food, but I'm not sure if I'd be back to buy food for myself here again.

The salmon bowl is a glorified rice bowl / bibimbap-like where you can make the bowl complete by mixing everything. The salmon is quite tender and fresh, but outside of that, for $36 it is quite steep, especially since the salmon is very tiny Service is okay - there is a lack of attention with water refills spilling the table and when I paid my card, the server placed the card directly on top of some food dropped in the table... but requests are fulfilled and food comes out at a relatively fast pace.

I got an iced tea with no sweetener. I had to ask and then it was a limited assortment and the sugar was chunky (old, exposed to water?). They were out of two of the vegetarian options: veggie patty for their burgers and the fried artichokes. We were there two hours after opening so it seemed odd that they were out already. I came in super curious about this scallop dish they had. Now I've had scallops every which way possible. Scallops are so yummy they are next to impossible to ruin. But this dish called "oven fired bay scallops" changed my mind. It's basically scallops baked in cheese sauce. I took one bite of this thing and spit it out. I never thought I would hate a scallop dish but this is it. This is an absolute hot mess of a dish that should be taken off the menu and never be made again. The baking basically overcooked the scallops to the point that they are like rubber balls. On top of that all that cheese overpowered the subtle taste of the scallops to such a degree that I couldn't even taste the scallops. Then I tried their prawn appetizer. the chef made this one spicy. There was so much spice on it I could barely taste the prawn. I had to scoop it off the prawn before I could eat it. Those prawn were actually tasty and fresh and perfectly cooked. It really needed nothing more than some lemon juice. Then I had their rigatoni which was ok but the sausage that was in it was also a little spicy. What is this chef's obsession with spice? another thing I noticed was I was trying to find something light but they don't really have anything light. all of their pasta has a traditional tomato sauce or a cream sauce. All their salads are bit and full of cheese. Their pizzas are sizeable and full of toppings. This menu seriously needs to be redone. add a few light dishes and ditch some of the heavy ones. Overall food is decent enough for 4 stars but I am deducting a star for those two terrible appetizers. This is clearly the result of a young chef trying too hard. This chef needs to learn that sometimes less is more.
