Chicken fried steak with sunny side eggs and potatoes. There was also an egg under my steak which was awesome.

This place is great. The chicken fried steak was so warm and good. It made me feel hot! Eggs are great. They do poached eggs here but I forgot to ask. Whoops! Next time. Check it out though.

Trump art saying "FIGHT!"

Food was acceptable and the staff friendly but my the pro-Trump art turned my stomach. I won't be going back.

It had a healthy amount of meat and balanced sauce and sauerkrout . Fries were crisp and fluffy, well salted and great for some mustard or ketchup dipping. Usually when you ask for anchovies at a restaurant you get one or two weak ones, or they are super boney. Here we got a whole school topping the salad, big and with the best soft bones so you just eat them up. Great salad. It's been a while so I can't talk to the other dishes as well but I know we left there with all four of us excited to come back for more.

Unfortunately, the quality has declined to the point where it no longer feels worth the effort. The food is now significantly overpriced for what you get. Service is generally friendly, but inconsistent. One visit about six months ago stands out: we waited over 10 minutes after being seated with no acknowledgment, and eventually walked out. It wasn't even busy. Most recently, we were seated near the window when someone came in and asked to watch the baseball game. The staff turned the bar TV volume up so loud it was difficult to have a conversation. While we understand it's a sports-friendly environment, that level of noise didn't match the pricing or atmosphere we expected. Sports bars don't usually serve burgers that cost $26. We could have moved, but didn't anticipate such a dramatic change for one patron. We're grateful for the great memories over the years, but it's clear the experience has shifted, and not in a direction that works for us anymore.

I didn't even remember where it was located but was intrigued when I learned it was in a micro-hood named Tanglewood. Salmon was very good, not dry but succulent; as well as the vegetables. The Hanger Steak was amazing. Almost everything was locally sourced and you can taste it. It all just seemed to work together in a uniquely Pacific Northwest kinda way. It's as though you were eating the outdoors. The owner met with us and gave us a history of the place, followed by his chef's cuisine philosophy. Just a really pleasant conversation. My only personal gripe is that some of the elevated presentations of the cuisine itself did not meld well with some of the rustic dishes; I think their presentation should appear slightly more 'nouvelle cuisine française' and less road-side diner in some dishes. Overall however, R Christine reminds me of the wonderful little hidden locovore spots throughout France that oftentime prove to be borderline Michelin star operations. This place is just like that, lovely.

Our server was very friendly and upbeat, which I appreciated, but the service ended up feeling a bit intrusive. We were checked on so often that it interrupted our conversation and made it hard to relax and enjoy the meal. Unfortunately, the food was the biggest disappointment. Everything we ordered was pretty bland and under-seasoned, with no real standout flavors. For the price, I expected a lot more. Overall, it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good enough to justify a return visit. Unlikely to come back.

The space has a warm, modern-industrial vibe, wood floors, soft lighting, exposed ceilings, and thoughtful decorative touches. It's intimate without feeling cramped, and the open kitchen adds a nice energy. Our server was incredibly personable and professional, striking that perfect balance of friendly and knowledgeable. We did the American Omakase. We started with a trio of entry snacks: smoked anchovies, prosciutto with watermelon, and fresh focaccia. The anchovies were punchy and vibrant, definitely for fans of big flavor. The prosciutto and watermelon were refreshing, and the focaccia tasted like it came straight from a great neighborhood bakery. Course 1: Amberjack Crudo Fresh, clean, and beautifully balanced. The tomato compote and rolled vegetables paired so well together, and the flakes of salt on top really opened up the flavor of the fish. Course 2: Diver Maine Scallop Hands down one of the highlights of the night. The scallop was paired with breadcrumbs, oyster mushrooms, and a miso sauce that made the whole dish feel warm, savory, and almost Thanksgiving-like in its comfort. VERY good. Course 3: Pork Belly Served with carrot puree, apple "sauce", and leeks. The pork belly itself was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the sweetness of the apple paired perfectly. The leeks were a surprise standout. Course 4: Lamb Rich, moist, and deeply seasoned, with a lovely rub. The artichoke hearts added such a sharp, earthy contrast that it legit gave me goosebumps. The potato purée and jus tied everything together. Course 5, Dessert: Chocolate something (oops it was like a mousse) with Poached Pears & Raspberry Creamy, balanced, and not overly sweet. A perfect finish. Overall, Violet delivered a thoughtful, memorable meal with impeccable pacing and standout dishes from start to finish. Would absolutely return

It's not just a drink menu... it's an experience. And the food? Michelin-worthy. We shared the Autumn Chicory Salad and the homemade Autumn Mushroom Pasta -- both beautifully crafted, rich in flavor, and perfectly paired with the bourbon experience. The black cod was not the center of the dish literally or figuratively: it should have been labeled a black cod salad because for 35 dollars it was a giant pile of salad with a tiny sliver of cod served on the side. It is offensive to call this a main course with how the dish is plated and portioned. The rest of the menu suffers from similar compromises: the lobster rolls are pretty good but very small for 33 dollars. Some of the other menu items were a lot better in presentation and value. The mushroom risotto and the cheeseburger were some of the better items on the menu. The oysters were also very good. There's some bright spots here but the overall experience is very compromised by some landmines on the menu. I would come here specifically to sample a few oysters and for the cheeseburger but not for any other items if you are expecting an actual meal. We came mostly for happy hour but there wasn't much that intrigued us on the menu. We did split half a dozen oysters that were served with the most boring and basic mignonette and no lemon. I'd come back for the burger and salad and that's it. The server left much to be desired and really impacted our experience. I know it's hard for restaurants to survive in Seattle with how expensive everything is. It's also expensive for people to go out to eat in this city. We brought flowers for the celebration, but there was no room for them because the table was so cramped. When we asked if there was a vase or bucket for the flowers, the hostess seemed visibly annoyed, just like she was when we asked about changing tables. Our waitress, however, was wonderful and did her best to make the experience better, which we really appreciated. We were also told that we had to leave by 2:00 PM because of an event, but it seemed like we were the only ones asked to leave, and no event ever happened. To make things worse, the doors were left open, making it freezing cold inside. We were so uncomfortable that we left after only an hour to go somewhere else and warm up. I'm very disappointed.
