Floanna's Diner is such a cozy little spot, and I've been there a few times now. Their omelettes are really good--fresh, flavorful, and always cooked just right. The coffee is okay, not the strongest, but still warm and comforting with breakfast. The atmosphere is what really makes this place special. It's warm, inviting, and has that classic diner charm that makes you want to sit back and relax. The staff is friendly, and the service is quick every time I go. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and extremely efficient with our group of 8 and an 11 month old. One of the servers noticed that the baby was hungry and brought us a bowl of sliced bananas, got her food order in, picked up her toothbrush from the floor and brought us a cup of hot water to clean it off. The food was fresh and portions were very generous. A great place to dine! read more

I returned because I was craving a Denver omelette with egg whites and a side of ham. The food is delicous and I'm sitting at the counter top watching the two hard working cooks and two servers rushing to get the food out. It's a nice synchronicity watching everyone's flow and seeing locals coming in and chatting with one another. Unlike other diners in Seattle which may feel more transactional, a server in all black clothing was giving hugs to her regulars and wishing them a Happy Thanksgiving. One of the cooks recognized me and it felt like Cheers where everyone knows your name. The sound of silverware being separated, plastic glasses being stacked, and the vintage style decor brings me back to what diners used to be like. You can hear the sounds of newspapers and smell the fresh brewed coffee. This is a cozy place where I've been family reunions. I misjudged this businesses and am giving it 10 stars. read more

First of all the ambiance is excellent. I love the vibes. Everything about it made me think I was going to love it. Unfortunately my eggs Benedict was not great. Everything was drowning in hollandaise and it tasted like it came out of a jug. It was really sweet and off putting. My grapefruit juice was similar and I expected that to be store bought but it tasted like kool aid. Everything went very well. Service truly was excellent. Prices are lower than the general Seattle area. They even have a senior menu. The food was great and they kept the coffee topped off consistently. I really can't say enough about the exceptionally good service. Yes we'll be back and I hardly recommend this place to anyone. Flo-Anna's Diner is a must try if you are in Shoreline! I came for breakfast and knew immediately I was going to like it as soon as I walked through the door. The decor is a traditional 80s/90s vibe but you can tell they keep it clean and tidy. The two ladies working were both very kind and welcoming and I decided to sit at the bar top since I was alone. I ordered a bacon and cheddar omelette with an English muffin. The omelette was a very generous portion with lots of cheese and bacon. The hash brown side was well cooked and seasoned...I added a little salt to everything but I'm sure that's personal preference. If you're looking for a solid breakfast spot with speedy/friendly service, definitely check out Flo-Anna's...it's been there since 1993, so you know it's doing something right! read more

I had breakfast Friday morning with my friend. The hash browns had no flavor they tasted old and were hard. The plates and coffee cups were small and so are the portions I had a chicken fried steak. It was only a five ounce steak. The price of my breakfast was comparable to other restaurants where you get an eight or eleven oz steak. Also, the gravy came from a package or can Nothing about what I experienced yesterday is reflected in any of the rating sites I checked before eating here. I'm a chef and like good food. My experience here did not warrant me ever returning. I wish I would have taken a picture so you can see what my plate looked like. read more

I ordered mushroom and cheese omelet with the choice of cheddar cheese and sourdough. Huge portion, I usually eat more than average adult women, but even more me it's a big breakfast. I am so glad we finally went here! It was a perfect diner breakfast experience and an absolutely lovely way to start a Sunday with the family. Hearty and delicious food, comfortable atmosphere (not too loud despite being full!), quick service, reasonable prices, and super friendly and kind staff. We've declared it a new favorite. After driving by it for many years, I finally decided to check their menu. I am always on the look-out for places that still serve liver and onions and (for my husband) country fried steak. Tonight we gave it a try. Liver perfectly cooked and the country fried steak also got a thumbs up. Senior servings still very big. Will order more wisely next time. Friendly service. I love a good diner, especially greek - but this is not it. I had a greek scramble with hash browns and a biscuit. The hash browns were undercooked and soggy, the gyro meat in the eggs was completely bland, and the biscuit was definitely not buttermilk. Possibly frozen. On top of that, the coffee and tea were really expensive. $30 for a bland breakfast. But the service was good and there was no wait on a Sunday morning! read more

After craving for some diner type food, I am happy to have found this little gem. Located on the busy Lake City Way, Flo-Anna is the definition of a old fashion homey diner. Things to note about this place: -Parking - Plenty of spaces around the building -Seating - Seat yourself anywhere and one of the friendly servers will get to you -Pricing - For the amount of food you get, prices here are pretty reasonable -Service - Super friendly staff! :) Food: Ahhh! All of the food I have tried so far have been pretty tasty. Breakfast items are served all day and if you happen to stumble in on a Greek night special, highly recommend trying the Greek items out. So far, I have tried the: Greek Special: Killer deal for $25 that includes - Moussaka (very rich & savory with the layers of meat, potatoes and eggplant), Avgolemono soup (very nice balance of lemony to egg flavor), Greek Salad + Pita bread (very well seasoned) and Greek chocolate cake (very thick and decadent with the richness of the layers and chocolate) Breakfast items: Omelets - you can't really go wrong with any of the omelets in general. Huge portion, very savory, and overall, a nice meal if you're craving eggs! Drinks: If you're a fan of hot chocolate, get a cup! I basically judge the quality of a diner by its chicken fried steak. Fair or not, that's how I roll. And. Damn. Easily best I've had in king county. Hash browns were above average but wouldn't mind them a tad bit crispier but crispier than most. Tapatio at the table is good but my heart will go on for Cholula every day. I went around 1pm and it was quick service - curious if the morning crowd is busy. Guess that means I'll have to come back . Ngl the environment reminds me of 70s lounge but that's just not my thing. Decided to see if I could add a breakfast place to the rotation. Flo-Anna's is exactly as advertised. It's a somewhat divey joint along LCW. You seat yourself which I prefer so I can avoid making eye contact with all the townies. But the service was prompt, the food is solid, the restaurant has a relaxing vibe. This place will surprise you. It doesn't look fancy from the outside but the inside is full of some of the best food and customer service you could ask for. VERY high quality spec in meats and they even have phone chargers at the bar. I got two poached eggs, bacon, sausage and hash browns. It was Devine and I didn't have to eat the rest of the day. It's your basic diner, food is acceptable, but not anything to write home about. The service though was excellent! When we first arrived, it was early, and there was only a couple people eating, our server greeted us and seated us, and despite her young age (she didn't look more than 19) she was attentive and friendly, everything you want in a waitress and more! The place was decorated for Christmas, and it was festive. Before long, the place was packed for dinner and by all accounts, it seemed as if everybody was very happy. I think this is definitely a place to try for brunch, and we are definitely planning on coming back for that! There is a parking lot, it isn't huge, but it's big enough for most times I would say. And once a week, they have a "Greek night", with a special Greek dinner in the offerings. All in all, definitely a solid place to head to if you're in the area. read more

Loved the country fried steak with sausage gravy. It's as good as any Southern Cracker Barrel. Service is fast and friendly, and parking plentiful in the back lot. Weekend peak waits are long for groups, but for couples and singles, the counter is usually available. $21.50 for a plate is really high. I am used to sub-$15 prices in areas where there are more competition. read more

It was solid, with the roasted/warmed up croissant and was filling. I also liked that they had Victrola coffee, which I ordered a drip of. Strong coffee = no complaints. In addition to their made-to-order food items, like the breakfast sandwich, they also have pastries in the case and a full coffee and tea menu. It's nice to have this cafe in the Lake Forest shopping center with plenty of seats around, next to many other businesses and tons of parking nearby. I dig the convenience of it all.

All the banchan were flavorful too, I thought the kimchi had a good balance as sometimes it can be a bit on the saltier side. Service was great too, the sever was friendly and checked often. When I went, it was just me then a couple arrived. There was a delay with their order so she provided some mandu on the house while their order was being prepared. Once they received their order, I heard the couple tell the sever that everything was very good multiple times- their food did look good! I recommend checking this place out especially with the new ownership. Menu looks similar from previous owners, but will for sure go back and try something else!

She also replied to my question that this location opened last week. Note: a crespella is the Italian version of the French crêpe. This is more pancake like in texture. Usually this is a buckwheat batter, but I didn't verify this. I noticed via online and the overhead menu that the only savory items are sandwiches. This is a more sweets forward establishment with sweet crespellas, mini pancakes, milkshakes, novel drinks, juices, and canned/bottled bevs. Despite my fondness for savory French-style crêpes and seasonal strawberries (June for Skagit Valley strawberries), I decided to try a Crespella strawbites and a hot chocolate. Definitely a sweets splurge for me. This was a fairly sizeable crespella and easily shareable. It was generous, filled with chocolate, topped with large halved strawberries and drizzled with Nutella nicely plated. No flatware, just provided individually wrapped forks and knives. The hot chocolate was served in a paper cup, topped with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles. I'm glad the piped in music volume was dialed down and was more chill dining onsite. Initially, it was amplified country. Didn't help I was seated by the stereo system, lol. Anyways, the major bonus is that Shoreline has now a dessert spot with late night hours to midnight (11am - 12 midnight daily). A welcomed addition to Shoreline!

Exactly what I was looking for....a good ol fashion diner. A good breakfast, without a long wait and plenty of coffee :) I can see that there can be a long wait here.....looks like a local favorite and not a ton of tables. Thankfully it is run by people who know how to make a great meal, in little time and a person dedicated to coffee refils. Corned beef hash is made in house and VERY GOOD. Here it is.. I thought Beths Cafe was the best, untill the day I walked into Flo Annas. WOW!! Not only is the food delitious, the waitress are fantastic. Cant forget the wonderful cooks especially in the morning with the new mimosas. They are the best with hashbrowns & eggs.Even better is the lunch with a beer.. Gave us the check before we were close to being done with our food. Took 20 minutes to take our order and didn't even go in order. 25$ for a plate of food I could've made for 10$. Please stay away from Flow-Anna's dinner. Once the crowds find it, it will ruin the fantastic service (yes I often dine at the $100+ per person restaurants, and the service does NOT match Flow-Anna's) and the consistently terrific comfort food. I love it, but please don't tell anyone. read more

I enjoy stopping by Shoreline's Ridgecrest neighborhood, because of the Crest theater, Ridgecrest Books, Cafe Aroma, and Drumlin. Drumlin is the sister restaurant to the adjacent Ridgecrest Pub which often hosts a wide variety of food trucks. I like how Ridgecrest overall has created a pleasant sense of community. Drumlin first came onto my radar screen because I heard about an Escoffier trained pastry chef working there from another Yelp Elite. I tried a few times to stop by, but the popular baked goods were always sold out. But I did end up having a tasty lunch which I wrote up in my previous review from 11/13/22. This pastry chef has since then moved on. Drumlin then returned onto my radar screen because I heard of about a revamp of their beverage and culinary program. I was able to spontaneously stop by, snag a two top and really enjoyed my first 2025 visit back on February 19th. I savored my spinach salad, casio e pepe risotto, and Running Up That Hill cocktail. It was a bit spendy since I had just started a new job. However, I appreciated the quality and its location close to home. It was nice to see positive write ups in Seattle Magazine and The Stranger, giving positive props to this Shoreline destination. Then I heard that Drumlin went into full cafe mode with daily business hours 7am to 1pm. Menu focuses on beverages, baked goods, and breakfast sandwiches/wraps for the time being. Interesting pivot, but not fully using their awesome multi-purpose space. They have outdoor seating, a full bar, a stage, many two tops against a banquette, street parking, and a dedicated private parking lot. Oh well, I'm sure there is a story behind that and why dinner service has been suspended. Anyways, subsequent visits happened all within a week on July 12th, 13th, and 20th. The first two visits were around 11 am, today's visit was at 745 am. The visits were all onsite for one hour, 90 minutes, and five hours, respectively. Absolutely chill vibe being onsite. Often the challenge visiting indie cafes, there's never enough seating, too crowded, the sea of laptops, ad naseum. I enjoy seeing solos, pairs, groups, and families stopping in whether to stay awhile or as takeout. I've enjoyed collectively to date: 3 - 16oz iced mochas, 1 chocolate chip cookie, one peach gingerbread cake slice, and two Morning Glory muffins. Today's muffin was especially awesome, still warm from the oven, love the overall moist crumb, and especially the pepitas for texture. This going to be a hard situation because I enjoy Cafe Aroma located diagonal from Drumlin, but I definitely favor the fresh onsite scratch pastries here. There's also some featured baked goods from Kaffeeklatch, located in Seattle's Lake City neighborhood. I've contributed two posts and 40 photos over five visits. Hopefully this provided a comprehensive view of my experience at Drumlin. I've been a Shoreline resident for over 23 years, I'm always rooting for hometown businesses to succeed as they evolve, remain vibrant, and viable.
