This is full of water, where everyone was sitting to eat.

This place is the most unhygienic restaurant I've ever had the misfortune to dine at. The food is tasteless and seriously am gagging at the memory that I ate that. The ceiling is sagging from water damage and honestly they ought to have closed their business while they take care of that. There's most likely mold and mildew. The bathroom was disgusting and one of the waitresses molested me on the way to the bathroom to feel my sweater. Put her hands on me without consent, wtf?? Do not patronize this business

For years driving to/from Bothell or Woodinville via 522, I had passed Jay's Cafe in Kenmore. I enjoy checking out long time, well worn, indie, family run diner type restaurants especially with a hearty breakfast focus...places like Voula's, Shay's, Flo-Anna's, Beth's, North Star, Geraldine's Counter, Glo's, Lost Lake, Maltby Cafe, ad naseum. Got to savor them because sometimes sadly they close permanently like Square Knot and Leena's. Finally, I had the opportunity to have breakfast at Jay's Cafe with The Homie (7/23/23). Definitely well worn with a variety of indoor seating - counter, tables or booths, gotta love the popcorn ceiling and overhead fans too. There was also a case filled with pies and other baked goods by the entrance. We were warmly greeted and handed menus and ice water once seated. Nice variety of menu items for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. Seeing other orders going out, definitely piping hot from the kitchen line to your table, generous servings. The Homie decided on Chicken Fried Steak that came with hash browns, two over easy eggs, and a biscuit. He enjoyed this thoroughly as it became part of the clean plate club and started nibbling off my plate too. As an aside, he had dined there two days later with another family member and had the Steak and Eggs. I ordered the featured special on this Sunday morning. This had a ham scramble topped with shredded cheddar cheese, two strips of bacon, two sausage links, hash browns, and choice of toast, French toast, or pancakes. I requested the pancakes and short two stack was fluffy and came with ample whipped butter and syrup. Overall tasty, decent, and tremendous bang for one's culinary buck. Parking with easy access off of 522, welcoming and attentive service, staff looked upbeat and enjoyed working there, generous menu servings, and easy on the wallet. Glad I finally made the effort to check out Jay's Cafe!

Definitely a hole in the wall old fashioned diner.... Lots of cute old folks like me having a great breakfast. Definitely a "greasy spoon" but a good old fashioned breakfast. It doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is!

I can't believe I waited so long to go here - this is a great old style cafe, with great portions and a home feel. The servers were really nice. My partner and I both got omelets, I chose French toast with mine and it was such a huge portion. You will not leave hungry!! The coffee refills kept coming too. Definitely want to continue to support businesses like this who care about their customers.

Okay for breakfast. The senior locals sure seem to like it. My husband and his business partner go there on occasion. I try to stay away.

Again, late to the party since One Bite Cafe at the Lake Forest Park Town Center has been open for…read morenearly two years. I'm a creature of habit and often stuck to the other side of the complex. I did not realize that One Bite Cafe took over the former Great Harvest Bread. I had checked out One Bite Cafe before in Seattle's Roosevelt neighborhood out of curiosity regarding croffles, but it didn't not leave a lasting impression at the time (open since 2019, with that visit in July 2022). However, when The College Friend set up a meet up at the Lake Forest Park site yesterday (open since May 2022, this visit on 4/9/26). There is an interior entry from the two level retail area and an exterior entry adjacent to the big shared parking lot. It took me a few tries until I found a spot. I was kindly greeted upon entry while the counter person was assisting the customer ahead of me. I ordered and paid directly on the convenient touch screen kiosk located to the left of the main register. I liked the interior transformation. Lots of onsite seating configurations and pleasant decor. Overhead music played the Beatles, which was a pleasant surprise. The wrap around pastry cases with well placed menu placards showed the variety of menu offerings. There's a wide variety of bevs, sweet and savory pastries, desserts, sandwiches, and even gluten free items from NuFlours. I ordered a 22oz iced classic milk tea with 75% sweetness and no toppings, plus some Korean sausage bread. The College Friend decided on a toasted Reuben with chips. We also shared a Portuguese egg tart. We were onsite for three hours. I noticed a constant stream of customers who also dined onsite, as well as, folks getting items to go. I appreciated observing the consistent pleasant and helpful counter staff, all with welcoming smiles! I learned that One Bite Cafe has grown to four sites: Seattle/Roosevelt, Lake Forest Park, Woodinville, and Federal Way. That's great to see ongoing success for this local, indie cafe chain. Lake Forest Park Town Center is lucky to have a variety of cafe, bar, and restaurant destinations. One Bite Cafe gets a collective 5 star for this first time visit.

This is the most popular food vendor in the store as it is located right in the front of the building. Way better than Starbucks. They serve Victrola coffee here. My favorite is their London Fog latte. They also have some good food options. You can get breakfast of course. Grab one of their many pastries and/or breakfast sandwiches. You can also grab lunch, as they have many sandwich, salad, and soup of the day options. My favorite food items are the deluxe croissant and the meat pie. One the negative, I will say that they have raised the prices on many of their items. The meat pies have gone up to almost 8 bucks for one, so I stopped buying it. As far as their baked goods, there are other better bakeries out here. The team is really good at making the items appealing and pretty, but once you taste it, you might be underwhelmed or even disgusted. My mom and I shared a slice of their black and white cake and we quickly realized that they use shortening for frosting. My mom and I both cook/bake, so we instantly knew once we tasted it. We decided to eat around the shortening and only ingest the cake. After we ate the cake, we were left with solid blocks of shortening, and realized that the cake to shortening ratio was way off. It was actually disgusting. If you like to munch on sweetened saturated fat, then you will like this cake. I would never order one from here knowing what they use to make their frosting. I will stick to my London Fog and other favorites.

My brother, who also lives and works in the area, tells me constantly how awful the customer service is there when you order food- to the point where he refuses to go. I'm celiac and can't eat anything over there so I hadn't ever experienced what I did today. Today we're at the bookstore together and I decided we need to make a coffee stop. My brother, Loren, orders a sandwich. He says he needs it to go. Person at the register is pleasant enough. I order a coffee separately and am quickly served. We wait a bit for the sandwich, and we finally go up to the counter after maybe ten minutes and see the same sandwich he ordered sitting in a basket. It has a ticket on it that says "Owen." Easy mistake, really. He says, "Is this maybe Loren's?" And the person behind the counter immediately snaps "it says Owen." Okay. So we wait a few more minutes. We're now 15 minutes out and several people who ordered after us are served. He steps up and say "hey, I ordered a BLTA on sourdough for Loren, I think it may have been put in under Owen, but-" and before he can finish his thought they snap back at him again "it's probably yours because this one hasn't been picked up." At this point he's like, "okay, I ordered mine to go- could I-" and the girl behind the counter slams a box on the counter and says "here's a box." And turns away. I'm annoyed, because while I understand we have inconvenienced you, who is standing here chatting with an off-duty coworker for 30 minutes, we literally did nothing to deserve the attitude. Loren scoops the sandwich out of the basket and puts it into the box and this girl has the nerve to turn around and say "dirty dishes go behind you at the service bar." Oh, so now we have to bus YOUR hand-off bar, too? No sorry, no thank you, not even the offer to box up his food or put away the freaking basket. Is it because Loren is very clearly not white? Or is it because this lady today had a bad day and took it out on someone for interrupting her mid-shift gossip about how the mall security is full of idiots who don't do their job? Go ahead and take a gamble and let me know, because I won't be back.
