New owners in the well known Colonial Pantry location. Ample off street parking. Very comfortable space.

We were out for the Edmonds Night Market in Firdale--after a quick lap around we decided to go for tacos instead--Trini's was open and the owner were serving a spotlight menu--we ordered the taco of the night and each had a Pacifico--awesome. The ambiance of the place is great, the owners have clearly put a lot of energy into this place after the fire. They've been open again since February--I had no idea this gem was right next door.

I never write bad reviews bc I know how hard restaurant work can be as I worked in them for 15 years. I know that mistakes happen and customers can be so rude. But I feel this deserves a review bc they made me feel bad. They have a veggie Benedict on their menu and I asked what veggies are on it and then decided to order it. I received a veggie omelette. I told them I ordered the Benedict and apologized for even doing that bc I always feel bad sending stuff back even though this was not my mistake. First the waitresses were nice and apologized and it was totally cool bc I wasn't upset at all. I just wanted a Benedict bc I do not like omelettes. I do not like my eggs cooked that way. But then the one who was serving my table said in front of the others "I know you said omelette bc we do not have a veggie Benedict but I am going to make you a Benedict" in a very condescending tone and fake nice voice to make me feel stupid and show how "nice" she is. So I grabbed the menu and she just acted annoyed when I showed her the veggie Benedict and said oh yeah I don't know what's in that. No apology. By that time I'd already just agreed to an avocado one bc we had to go. I had to have it boxed up and they gave me the omelette which I'm not gonna eat bc I do not like them. I gave it to a family member. Making the wrong item is fine. Me not having time to eat and having it boxed up is too. I have patience and respect for restaurant employees. But making me feel stupid and then I even tried to be nice saying I understand etc but then no apology. Just this fake smirk like I did something wrong...I did not say anything bc I had to leave and I still tipped 20% bc I don't know who the tip is divided up amongst. But this experience made me feel bad and on top of it the food is very mediocre or looks like it bc I haven't even felt like eating it and it's overpriced. I spent $87. After claiming I am imagining things on their menu I do expect an actual apology or something taken off my bill which did not happen. Will absolutely not go back. Do not recommend. I miss colonial pantry.

We first started off with one of the blueberry coffee muffin cakes. It was the perfect amount of sweet, mixed with the blueberry bit (yum). We we ordered mimosas (can't go wrong there), my wife ordered the traditional breakfast with chicken sausage, and I ordered the burrito. In both cases, the potatoes were very soft and tasty and the bread and table raspberry jam from scratch is perfect. Probably one of the best burritos I've ever had for breakfast. If you're in the neck of the woods, you have to stop here for breakfast. Parking can be a nightmare

We got the Cuban pork hash, ham hash (from the specials menu), corned beef hash, and breakfast burrito. The potatoes were unique because they were neither crispy but they weren't mushy either and very nicely fluffy inside. Also very well seasoned! The eggs were perfectly done and oozy, the hollandaise sauce was light, more so added for extra creaminess. I'm not usually the biggest fan of hollandaise sauce as I find it sometimes too heavy but this was less rich which was nice. The breakfast burrito was tasty, nice amount of filling. I enjoyed the cubes of ham and how it wasn't overly salty. Definitely eat with hot sauce and some black pepper. I think it would get a little mundane if you were to eat the whole thing yourself but it's not bad. The banana bread donut isn't really a donut. More so a banana bread Bundt cake. It was nice, slightly sweet with what tasted like whipped browned butter.

The menu has classy options and is rather understated, which is a relief. [I positively despise the Cheesecake Factory model of long menu of items with small variations on the same boring narrow band of ingredients -- which taste roughly all the same...marketing to a customer base with limited palates is all kinds of unappetizing!] Here, in addition to more reasonable portion sizes than the Cheesecake Factory, the menu choices are delectable and artful. Each crumpet topping or combination demonstrates care and good cultural taste. I had the savory pesto, ricotta, and tomato...it was adroitly put together on a plate. I wolfed it down at the outdoor seating patio with my fingers. An off-the-street enclave of restaurants, pubs, and ice-cream shops is a nice setting -- albeit a bit too concrete and too hot in summer. I will be returning to this open-kitchen, informal, tea and crumpets shop for more of their menu...

This restaurant is perfect for dogs since they have a covered patio! It's comfortable but not super casual, making for a delightful ambiance. I like that you order at the counter and your food is brought to you. The servers are kind and make sure to take care of you! To drink, I had their special lavender mocha, iced. You first taste the chocolate and then a hint of lavender. The mango mule and strawberry basil spritzer are delicious drinks too. To eat, we had the pulled pork sandwich, the blue burger, and the lamb burger. The burgers were cooked nicely and were flavorful. The pulled pork is tender and tasty! My favorite part of the dish is the fries--if you're a French fry fiend, make sure to come here and get their fries! We'll definitely continue to come back to Blackbird for lunch!

And the sandwich had great flavor and the chicken was cooked well. The service fell short for us. We ordered drinks which didn't come out until our food did -- which was almost a 25 minute wait. When the food did come out, I was brought the wrong meal and had to wait longer. For me, the prices are also a little steep for the portion sizes and also not having a server. Luckily the taste of the food was great! We sat outside -- which was nice patio area. There were also a handful of tables inside but they were all full.

We were a party of six - 4 adult and 2 five year old boys. We picked the place under the assumption that the kids can get pasta and it would be a peaceful lunch for us adults. We realized after being seated that they do a different brunch menu on the weekends (which has no pasta at all) and were caught a little off guard due to our own oversight - no fault of the restaurant at all. We got the boys sandwiches (Sausage & Egg Breakfast Sandwich) off the kids brunch menu but lunch was far more chaotic than we had imagined. My only point in sharing this is, if you have picky toddlers who like their staples, especially hooked on pasta - just visit outside the brunch hours. Us adults got the below and everything was delicious. Very large portion sizes and it would have been wise to share in hindsight but nonetheless good food. 1. Avocado Toast 2. Tomato Bruschetta 3. Chicken Fried Chicken & Polenta There are only 2 dedicated spots for parking for this restaurant which can be grab to grab but there is plenty of street parking which can also be challenging during peak weekend hours. So bake in a little time to arrive early if you have made a reservations. Staff is wonderful and service is quick.
