Adorable little shop that transported me to Europe. Meticulously laid out with only a few seats indoors and outdoors. This was recommend to us by good friend of ours and we left happy and content. Service was friendly and prompt even with the line they drew when we arrived. Am I a crumpet connoisseur? Absolutely not. Is this my preferred breakfast sandwich over a bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel? No, no. Was this tasty and worth trying? Heck yes! Crumpets are an English griddle cake. They're soft and delicate and I guess the most comparable to an English muffin? It makes for a good vehicle to add an assortment of sweet or savory toppings. Seattle Crumpet ($11.50) // egg, cheese, jalapeños, and ham on a cream cheese base. Tasty breakfast! Wish there was more heat from the jalapeños, but overall it was solid. If you have a big appetite like me, you might need something after just fyi! Cute and quaint. This is there offshoot location of the one that's been at Pike Place for decades. Give 'em a shot and try a crumpet!

The Crumpet Shop at Seattle's Pike Place Market had been a distant pre-Yelp memory. So it was a well anticipated visit on Memorial Day (5/26/25) knowing they opened a second location in downtown Edmonds. Perfect for us northenders and day trippers off the Edmonds-Kingston ferry. This is a welcomed replacement for the former bakeshop that had closed. It is also one of the businesses that shares a vibrant corner location at 5th and Main. This also features other popular adjacent businesses with pizza, ice cream, a cafe, and a tavern spot sharing a courtyard. No surprise there was a line, but this allowed me to check out the menu offerings and gawk at the merch. But thankfully the pleasant counter person helped me decide on what kind of crumpet to order. I decided to go basic and have a fresh buttered crumpet with jam. There were a nice variety of both sweet and savory selections, whether it be a crumpet or scone. I had ordered my crumpet with strawberry jam, but received raspberry jam instead. No worries as it was nevertheless really tasty. I was able to sit at a two top, savor my crumpet and enjoy the onsite vibe. Bright, nicely laid out with the main counter, featured merch, prep and production areas. This was not a pinkies up high tea kind of spot. This is very casual and approachable whether dining onsite or as takeout.

Great place to get a small and casual brunch or breakfast in Edmonds. I'm glad that they have another location outside of Seattle. I enjoyed both my sweet and savory crumpet, if you never had a crumpet before it taste similar to a scone. Food comes out fast and if you're pretty hungry, then two would be perfect. I highly recommend and would come back.

I always enjoy stumbling across a new baked good and this was a very pleasant surprise. I ordered the honey crumpet and it far surpassed my expectations. It was a very soft fresh baked. Good with a very nice honey and butter combo. The coffee was basic, but it doesn't matter. The food is so good. The staff was attentive and friendly and you can't beat an Edmonds location.

    Adorable interior. Love the kitty!

So happy that The Crumpet Shop has opened in Edmonds. Now we don't have to go all the way down to Pike Place to enjoy these delicious treats. We got a nutella, a Vermont, a Mickey Rourke, and I asked for a special egg, English cheese with their AMAZING pesto on top. They were all utterly delicious. I even got to compliment the owner. Highly recommend!

Have wanted to try this shop in Pike Place forever but never made it. So glad they opened a convenient location in downtown Edmonds. I tried one of the Savory options: English Cheese, Pesto & Tomato. OMG. So good! The cheese has a great soft, gooey texture. It tastes like a sharp cheddar and was so delicious! The tomato was fresh and provided good acidity. But the pesto was out of this world. I dare say it was one of the best pestos I've ever had. It had a heavy olive oil consistency which made it feel light and airy. I feel like they use something other than pine nut because it didn't have that overly toasty flavor those bring to pesto. It was a tad sweet and really herbaceous as a result. The crumpet itself was denser than I expected and provided a perfect blank canvas for the amazing toppings. Very friendly employees and adorably cute inside. Will definitely be back!

This cute little shop offers a warm vibe, wonderful ice latte, and crumpet! The service is great! A good coffee shop for a morning fix!

    The walrus.

The perfect place to mix up your morning. Some are refreshing yet sweet like The Walrus. Some are savory and powerful like Rob's. The owners are hands on and ensure perfection. Highly recommend, you'll have a nice place to sit with kids or duck off to work with coffee.

Unlimited supplies of perfectly steeped tea.

This has long been one of my favorite breakfast places downtown, but I almost never venture downtown. To learn that they had opened their second location, and in Edmonds, no less (where I live), was beyond exciting. I'll be here OFTEN.

I'm not sure if it's because something changed on the side of the bakery (maybe recipe or personnel changes?) or on my side, having tried more bakeries around the area. On our last visit we bought two loaves of bread to accompany a butter tasting. Both loaves I found to be not nearly as high quality as I remember previously. Pane Bello ($9) - The crust basically doesn't exist in this bread. It's soft and leathery and doesn't give that satisfying crispness of a well baked bread. The interior, while having good crumb structure, is particularly dry and almost crumbly. The taste is mild, perfect for pairing with higher end butters. (3/5) Parmesan Black Pepper Sourdough ($9) - This batard has similar texture as compared to the Pane Bello. It has the addition of plenty of black pepper baked inside, spaced out rather evenly, allowing a peppery bite every time. There's salty and fatty parmesan baked on top, giving a caramelized salty umami. It definitely has more flavor than the Pane Bello, but suffers from the same textural issues. (3/5) We purchased both loaves at 10AM on a Sunday morning and they were consumed within 2.5 hours, so I don't think it's an issue with storage. I ate a bit of their regular foccacia at a work event too. It has a good crispy exterior and is salted well on the top. Unfortunately the interior isn't the best, having a really dense, chewy crumb. I'm honestly not sure what happened. I really loved The Cottage when I first moved here 1.5 years ago. Now? I have a number of bakeries I'd choose over here in a heartbeat.

In long My little coffee side trips in this neighborhood will continue for a while. I'm now regularly in Edmonds with just enough time to grab a cup. This is the first sit-down place I've hit. I had just enough time to get something to go. It's a modest older building a couple blocks away from the main drag, and in Edmonds, a couple blocks is all you need for serious peace and quiet. On a Monday afternoon, there wasn't even much vehicle traffic on the road outside, but the locals were out in force--couples, groups, everybody cheerful. All ages. There are maybe 20 seats in here, with that many more outside. First thing you see when you walk in is the little farmer's-market type merch display that some local independent coffee shops often seem to have. Stickers, mugs, hats. I am anti-clutter overall, but still a sucker for stickers and mugs, and almost bought some stuff here. The kids behind the counter are super nice, super upbeat without being overcaffeinated. Very warm and genuine. My sister and I took our time puzzling through exactly what we wanted and the dude was smiling the whole time, got the order down perfectly. Couple minutes later it was ready. The drip coffee was fantastic, really hit the spot for my sis. It was late in the day so I got a heavily modified cup of tea (bergamot with lavender, something else, and almond milk). I've never had tea any way but black, ever, and this was delicious. I've never had tea with a cute name, either--"Edmonds Fog"--but that just made it easier to order. We were out the door with that and a really tasty jam biscuit for under $15. When I have time to park and go in to order, this place will be tough to beat for sure.

I ordered my usual Mocha Breve, and the coffee was surprisingly good - great flavor and just the right temperature. But let's chat about the service... As some reviews suggested, the service was a major letdown! The front servers seemed more annoyed than a cat in a bath. I asked for a bagel on the side, and both servers were less than thrilled to help me or even mention that I had to toast it myself! Apparently, there's a DIY toasting station for your pastries. The kicker? I ended up tipping 15% even though I did pretty much all the work - toasting the bagel and spreading the cream cheese. Which btw the bread even toasted is hard as a rock! It's a local joint, and the lady next to me clearly a local , was practically tapping her foot, trying to rush me as I waited for the cashier to make sure she's ready to take my order. Would I recommend this place? You might have a different experience so go. Am I gonna do a drive to comeback probably not. Don't believe the hype.

My mocha was decent, the pain au chocolat was fresh, good flavor and texture, despite being pretty hollow.
