We are regulars at Clair's, today we had an unfortunate experience. My Mom ordered the lite hash browns that comes with onions, bacon and cheddar cheese for $11.95 or something close, for $3.75 you can add two eggs. The hash browns were extra crispy (hard) almost all the way through. The waitress never stopped by to see how our three meals were. When she came to pick the dishes up my Mom mentioned how disappointed she was. She offered a new meal but we were done she declined and asked for it to be taken off the bill, manager comes by says since we at the eggs she was charging us for them. She charged us $6.99 not the $3.75 add on price for TWO eggs. It may be a while till I can talk my Mom into going back to her favorite breakfast place. To say they were less than gracious is an understatement, the cook should have never sent it out nor should the waitress have served it. The manager basically put the blame on my Mom and did not apologize for the terrible food. Disappointed how we were treated. read more

My son and I have been on a mission to try different brunch spots in the area, just to branch out, so we gave Claire's a chance since we love to walk our dog down on the waterfront in the mornings. I had the meat lover's omelet and somehow even stuffed with Ham, bacon and sausage... it had exactly 0 flavor. The eggs in the omelet weren't seasoned at all before being cooked and were absolutely bland. My son can make a better omelet at home. My son had the chicken fried steak and it was bland as well. Clearly was just a frozen pre-made chicken fried steak, no flavor and subpar all around. There are several better options around Edmonds. I had a lot of fun with my server, and I really enjoyed the meat lovers omelette with no onions, and no hashbrowns I had to slice of tomatoes, but my friends who joined along had plenty of food to eat, I will tell you that all of the servings were delicious and the portions were incredible. The view is absolutely amazing too. You've got a lovely view of Main Street in Edmonds And all you have to do is look to your right from the front door and you could see the Edmonds ferry dock... I've been to Claire's several times over the years. I came for a work Christmas breakfast this year and have to say it's as good as I remember. I had the Joe's Special San Francisco style. It was lovely and the hash browns were cooked perfectly. I'm normally afraid of baby reds, but my coworkers did the crispy potatoes and they looked f'ntastic. So we were looking forward to a nice breakfast. This was not to be. We first ordered the fresh squeezed orange juice at 11.00 per glass. Just was not satisfied with the quality of the orange juice. Next, we ordered at stack of pancakes to share at 17.00. Bacon with two eggs is 19.00. We are up to 58.00 for a simple breakfast. To order an additional sausage link and eggs is 19.00. This would be 77.00, before tax and tip.Easily 100.00 for breakfast. The breakfast was good, not great. Certainly not worth what they were charging. I'm usually here every Tuesday at noon for my weekly Rotary meetings. Today, I'm here with the husband just because I know they have better coffee than other places and I sure do need coffee today! They especially make good Eggs Benedict without the meat. I like the avocado and spinach Benedict. I also really like the hash browns. They make them crunchy on the outside and nicely cooked on the inside. This is one of the few places that offers Raw Sugar for my coffee. I like the wait staff. They are all so very polite. I've been coming to Claire's since 'I was knee high...'. Granted it's changed ownership, menus change, inflation hits, wages increase, etc. and now COVID. However, none of that explains what we experienced today. Needless to say, it'll be quite a while before we go back (we're suckers for punishment). We just spent over $80 for 3 people. Some may say that's not a bad price and they'd be right-depending in where you go and what you receive. Here's a quick breakdown of our bill (receipt attached) 3-drinks: 2-colas 1-iced tea. $3.99 each. Comment: ummm... did the price of water go up? 'Cause I know it doesn't run anywhere near $3.99 to make fountain drinks or iced tea. We're talking pennies on the dollar here. Burger Dip w/one side. My hubby chose to 'upgrade' to a CUP of soup for $2.50. And it was a tiny cup at that. So, in his words, I got two pieces of bread with a hamburger patty and a cup of au jus for $16.75. The cup of soup was like a pity ... given the size of it, and he could've gotten fries or potato salad included in the price. And the potato salad would've been the same size as the soup! My daughter ordered fish and chips for $18.95 with an upgrade to garlic Parmesan fries for $1.99 more. When she got her dish there were something in the vicinity of 10 fries. And a massive amount of fried rice sticks (plate filler???). We complained to the waitress about the quantity of fries (in the past she has always gotten at least double the amount of fries-they're not huge steak fries or anything) so she got us more. 20 minutes later she brings out a side of garlic Parmesan fries. And we're charged $9.95 addition. Now, this is ON TOP of the 'upgrade' we paid for with the original paltry amount of fries received. I ordered a taco salad bowl for $15.55 which was huge and delicious. Hence the one-star rating. Otherwise it would be zero if I could do that. I WOULD order that again. Very delicious and fresh. And huge. I have no idea what has happened to that restaurant, but it appears the new owners/management are cashing in on the COVID price increases we're seeing everywhere. In addition to 'we're in Edmonds! Everything costs more in Edmonds'. Like I said, it'll be a long while before we go back. Maybe if you go by yourself or as a couple your wallet won't get so shell-shocked. read more

If you are looking for a great spot for breakfast or lunch Claire's is the place to go. They have an awesome bacon bloody Mary, they have a great environment, food is super tasty, and the prices are reasonable. The staff are awesome, and I particularly love sitting in the back room because it's kind of separated away from the rest of the restaurant and has a more intimate feeling. I love their club sandwich in particular. For whatever reason it is consistently excellent. The fries are good, and as weird as this sounds, their honey mustard is fire too. Support Claire's! The place is super spacious, but if you come later around 10-11 there will be a line. We came around 8:50, found parking easily, seated right away. The wait staff are super friendly and attentive, they come by often to provide coffee refills and make sure we have all that we need. I writing this review because of a bad experience at this restaurant. We have been to this place several times. The food was always good and the waitresses that we had were always awesome. We went 2 weeks ago and the food was bad. The French toast wasn't cooked all the way still had raw egg on one side of the toast and the fresh fruit wasn't fresh it was old and tasted bad. Then the omelette that I ordered was saturated in oil and the hash browns were as well and raw in the center. We ate the French toast because we were starving. We sent back the omelette and hash browns and they wouldn't take it off the bill or remake the meal. So I had to pay for all of it. Now I took a small bite of the hash browns and the omelette and that was it. All you could taste and see was the oil and that the potatoes were raw. I will not be going back to this place. Remember if the food is bad you will pay for it regardless. They will not remake it or take it off of the bill. So for this reason I'm giving them 1 star. read more

My husband and I ended up here by chance we had put our name on the waitlist at a different brunch spot and were walking around to kill time.
