This is a wonderful bakery in the Edmonds/Lynnwood area - and there's not a lot of places like it nearby! My favorites were the apple darling and the cottage cookie but I can't wait to go back and try more!

A gem of a bakery in the Lynnwood area that is a must stop during my Costco and H-Mart runs. Stand outs from other bakeries in Seattle are there generous samples and incredible price of Stamp Act Coffee, one of my favorite Seattle coffee roasters, which can cost up to $26 per 12 oz bag elsewhere is a flat $15! I've had the Cottage Cookie, Cardamom Bun and Lemon Bun. My favorite is the cottage cookie of the three. Parking generous; check the hours!

This bakery is a hidden gem in the Perrinville neighborhood of Edmonds. Love their bread and baked goods. I've stopped by when they had samples of their French onion foccacia out, as well as their granola butter smeared on bread and it was all sooo good! On this last visit, I got the chocolate chunk rye cookie, maple shortbread and the dutch apple darling. All were delicious, but I would say the standout is the chocolate chunk rye cookie. I like being surprised when I show up because I never know what is available or what new item is on display that is calling my name. Service is friendly and prompt. Even with a line, it goes quickly. There are a couple of tables outside with chairs to enjoy your treats.

This place is a bread-lover's dream. As someone who worked in NYC bread bakeries for years, I have high standards and The Cottage is magical. First of all: samples. Little bites of pastry, cookies, bread? I was instantly sold. The line moved fast, the case was gorgeous, and their local merch selection? Also excellent, impeccable. But the bread... THE BREAD. We got a flaky sea salt focaccia (that only partially made it home) and a parmesan black pepper sourdough loaf, and I'm not exaggerating when I say we're now planning to drive out of Seattle every weekend for our bread fix. Moist, flavorful, perfectly balanced, and generously sized at unbeatable prices. The staff was super friendly and helpful, if I could give them literally infinite stars, I would.

The Cottage, Community Bakery has been in existence since 2018 and I enjoyed reading the background information provided on their website. Clearly, I have been under a boulder (not a rock) not having this amazing indie business on my radar screen sooner, learned about it only recently. Indeed there is a quality bakeshop with reasonable prices for north enders in the Perrinville area of Edmonds! I had stopped by on 11/25/24, only to find out that the site is closed on Mondays. My bad for not checking beforehand. I returned with a fellow Yelp Elite/IGer on 11/30/24 after our breakfast at nearby Bistro 76. One thing that was notable upon immediate entry was the amazing, tantalizing baking scent. I loved how the various stacked flour bags acted as instant customer flow barriers. Lots of merch, platters of samples, and I was glad for the line because it allowed me to gawk at the vast product line of artisan breads and other baked goods. I bought one each of the French Onion Soup Focaccia ($7), Lemon Bun ($4), and Chocolate Chunk Rye Cookie ($3). Delicious and satisfying - as how well crafted baked goods should be received. Also notable, very welcoming, well informed, and upbeat counter staff. Definitely recommended! Open Wed to Fri 8am to 6pm. Weekends 8am to 4pm. Closed Mon/Tues. Stop by early for best availability and selection.

Pretzel bagel trio. Sea salt, Parmesan, everything pretzel bagels

Wanting bagels led me to this place. There were line of people but the process was fast. When you buy three bagels you get one for free. Love that it's soft and tasty. Not too salty either. Love love the focaccia! Just perfect. Huge portion of real sourdough. Have to try that next time because focaccia was large! There are little tables to sit and enjoy some sweet bake goods as well. For me, sample pretzel roll and other delicious samples were so addictive. Giving me a whole roll to taste gives me an impression of their confidence. Definitely a place to come back for more delicious fresh and healthy bake goods!

Can I order an iced tiramisu latte with al--" and was immediately cut off with, "K, size?" I started again and said I wanted the drink with almond milk in a 16 oz size, and she interrupted me a second time to ask, "What size?" It felt like she wasn't listening to me to all. What stood out even more was that customers who came in after me were greeted with a much friendlier and more upbeat attitude. The difference in treatment was noticeable. When she brought my drink, I said, "Thank you," and received a simple "Mm yeah" in response. Combined with the rest of the interaction, it came across as rude and dismissive. I've had positive experiences at this location before, which is why this interaction was so surprising. I hope management addresses customer service expectations and ensures all guests are treated with the same level of courtesy and respect. One thing that also stood out to me was the apparent lack of diversity among the staff. While I can't speak to the company's hiring practices, it was noticeable compared to many other businesses in the area. Combined with the way I felt treated during my visit, it left me with concerns about the overall culture and customer experience at this location.

They offer a great variety of unique pastries, including the trendy flat croissant. While the flat croissant was fun to try and very crispy, I still prefer the traditional style. I have visited for takeout, dined onsite solo, or with others. It was really nice to receive a generous gift card from other family members. Interior pretty much has stayed the same, with some addition of merch, and plushies on a front bench by the entrance. Your attention will be drawn to their pastry case. Pro tip: make sure to show up in the morning for better selection for both sweet and savory items. Their pastries are baked fresh onsite, but I've made the mistake of showing up midday and towards closing and their pastry case would be slim pickings. They also have a great variety of beverages available too. Espresso, teas, and milk teas as examples. The mocha has improved, very coffee forward and not cloyingly sweet. Just needs to be hotter temp wise, but that's just me. My favorite go tos has been variable depending on availability, but recent visits have been their ham and cheese croissants. I greatly appreciate the offer to have it warmed up if dining onsite. It's just a strange pairing to place such tasty pastries on a paper plate and then provided flatware, knife & fork or just a fork. I appreciate that this indie bakeshop & cafe has been going strong and steady since 2016, so coming up on a decade! Flying under the radar, but iykyk this is a popular destination. An added star and definitely recommended whether for takeout or enjoyed onsite!

The other pastries we had was raspberry croissant, and a muffin, all tasted pretty good. I think all their pastries are fresh, delicious, and not that sweet compared to other bakeries. I highly recommend getting their cinnamon roll. This cafe is perfect for the all seasons especially summer if you want to sit outside and enjoy the view of downtown Edmonds. They have plenty of seatings inside and outdoor. Parking is limited since it's downtown Edmonds so it's a bit challenging but it's worth it because you get to enjoy fresh pastries and you can also have a nice walk down to the beautiful town and beach after.

I'm guessing they don't rotate the boba at all, so ordering it earlier is better. The boba at 8AM is actually pretty good with a surprisingly decent chew and bounce and a good sweetness on the exterior that's also sticky and soft. The pearls aren't really consistent in size, but are consistent in texture, which is more important. For the tea - 50% sweet is usually way too sweet for me at 85C. 25% is good and not too sweet. Unfortunately there isn't much tea flavor and it mainly tastes milky and creamy. Milk Tea Rating: 3/5 Boba Rating: 4/5 White Chocolate Strawberry ($2.60) - Very soft bun with the typical artificial strawberry flavor. The bun is super soft with a nice subtle bounce. Small pieces of softened white chocolate are embedded in the strawberry flavored cream on the inside. It's a well balanced bun that's sweet but not cloying.
