Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit w/ Mocha
Carol C.

Stopped in while my car was getting an oil change across the street. Enjoyed a bacon, egg & cheese biscuit sandwich. I got a side of jam to go with any leftover biscuit. All was good! The standout of Kaffeeklatsch would be its customer service. Very helpful, thorough and I appreciate the care they take in distinguishing that I may want my coffee in a to go cup, along with the biscotti in a bag, but enjoy the sandwich on the premises. They take great care to make sure the customer gets what they want. There was ample seating to sit, enjoy and relax on a Friday morning.

Vegetarian breakfast sammie

Really great experience here this morning, service is friendly and helpful. Got the vegetarian breakfast sammie (egg, cheese, tomato slice on a scone/biscuit), soft heart pretzel, bienenstich (almond pastry), drip coffee and americano. The pretzel was hands down the best carb we had here, soft, just the right amount of salt, chewy, not too dense. The bienestich wasn't too sweet, almonds candied, filling light- yummy. The breakfast sammie was crispy on the outside, soft and warm, little bland, would have been super yummy with a side of jam!

Bacon and egg biscuit

Really cute little spot that my friend and I came to get breakfast in. It was busy the full hour we were there, but never too busy to get a table and the line moves fast. I got the bacon and egg biscuit- really good! The biscuits are great, flaky and fresh. I also got a latte and that was good. We got an assortment of baked goods to try and these were fine but not amazing. Out of all the baked goods, the pain au chocolate was definitely the best, such great layers and amazing flavor! I would definitely try some other items, they had lots of great looking stuff.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!! I have a German mom and grandparents and the bakery items this place has are just dripping with nostalgia for me. Everything here is so meticulously made with love and thoughtfulness. Photo with just a few of the offerings, do NOT MISS the plum cake (Blechkuchen) OMG. The coffee (locally roasted True North) is fabulous as well. What a morning, you guys, what a morning.

I came in the morning and the pastries here are not fresh. They were clearly from a previous day.

I've been here a couple times for coffee and baked goods. I love their pretzels. If I still lived nearby, I would go there all the time!

They are coming up on their first decade next summer. The cafe decor also held up pretty well, including the large glass fixture from the ceiling. Seattle Sunshine Coffee also outlived Ventoux that I had mentioned in my prior post. The barista and I compared my 2016 stamp card to the current design, just had a few slight different nuances. This indie cafe had folks onsite, but not packed. There was still room available whether seated along the sidewalk, main seating area, or the upstairs mezzanine. Some convos to be had, but most of the cafe clientele were on their laptops or reading. Pastry case was well stocked with the wholesale variety from Macrina, plus the usual bevs and cafe fare. I enjoyed my near two hour onsite visit. The only thing I wished is that I had brought a hoodie. The AC was jacked up. and of course, I had savored an iced mocha. Hopefully my next cafe detour won't take nine years though between visits.

The service is attentive and nice. The coffee is tasty and smooth. We all ordered an oatmilk latte, we'd rate 4.5/5. When we arrived we were treated to a few samples to narrow down our drinking choices. I appreciate that and the bar tender provided good advice on the selection. I stuck with Ride the Tide IPA, others had a milkshake, Fruit Peddler GF sour, with no complaints. They have a full food menu which is preferred over food truck scenarios. We shared crispy brussel sprouts then went on to have a fish and chips, classic burger, and portobello mushroom burger and garlic fries. All were good. I'd definitely get the fish and chips again, and the mushroom burger looked delicious with a legit amount of mozzarella cheese oozing out around the edges. It looked great, but I didn't taste it. Definitely recommend!

I especially enjoyed the undertow dark lager. Our favorite meal was the portobello mushroom sandwich - full of flavor. My seafood taco was meh - needed lots of spice and some slaw. The onion rings were fresh and hot, but the breading was so thick that they were not particularly delicious- my son said they were really onion hush puppies - just too heavy...onion rings should be very lightly breaded so that the onion is the star of the dish. The fries were fresh and garlicky but not crispy enough.

It's located in the same spot after many decades in Seattle's Wedgwood neighborhood. Since there's several cafes along this stretch of 35th NE, as point of reference, it's two doors south of Wedgwood Broiler. It shares a huge parking lot and adjacent to a Metro bus route. It had a nice autumn hue from the overhead lighting and interior decor. The local art for sale adorning the walls was a nice added touch. Upbeat, welcoming staff. It was full right at noon and brisk walk-in takeout traffic. Nice overhead music to chill, dine, and/or do laptop stuff. They offer the usual bev menu, as well as, breakfast & lunch items, soups, salads, modest pastry case (from Alki Bakery), merch, and coffee roasts from Zoka. The 16oz mocha was well crafted temp wise & good balance of espresso, steamed milk, and chocolate. I also opted for the roast beef panini without the horseradish. Generously filled with roast beef, havarti, mayo, and red onion on savory focaccia. It was provided with au jus and I selected potato salad versus chips. The au jus was not salty, so after dipping, I also sipped the hot broth. Very flavorful and filling. The other panini half I'll have to take home. Thanks to fellow Yelp Elite All Star, Will L for a compelling post. This was a pleasant detour for lunch.

A friend of mine invited me for lunch, and we popped by there around noon. It wasn't too crowded, with ample seating, even for a place that's pretty small. It was delicious! Van Gogh is now on the list of local lunch spots to hit!

They do have a restroom, plenty of seating outside, kinda limited seating inside. They do have a wide array of offerings. I got the spinach and feta quiche with a strawberry matcha. Prices are reasonable for this day and age. I sat outside and enjoyed the sun! It's a great place to hang out, probably not great for groups unless you sit outside.
