A gem of a local coffee shop! Situated in a small strip mall in Wedgwood, you may almost miss it, tucked between the iconic Wedgwood Broiler and a hair salon. My husband and I decided to drop in after taking a morning stroll around the neighborhood. I got a hemp milk latte and my husband got the earl gray almond steamer, both were good. Both were served extra hot which was extra comforting on today's cool summer morning. The service was 5 stars. Warm, inviting and quick. The hubby and I will certainly be back. The sandwiches look delicious!

I came in for a cappuccino and admired their St. Patrick's Day decor! I am already a huge Van Gogh Coffee fan, and I love what they have done with the clovers and green everywhere. It is very well done :) excellent and fast service as usual.

Cute little finding on my way to Seattle! Beautiful café, friendly staff, and delicious fresh pastries. I had a seasonal special: Snicker Doodle latte, and a biscuit, it was so good. Warm and inviting place, I will come back without a doubt! Support local

Super cute and fun little coffee house on the east side of Seattle. The owner is super nice and the staff are really friendly. They have killer breakfast sandwiches and there coffee is bomb. There sandwiches are delightful. This is a really nice spot to stop before shopping at uvillage. They only have a few tables, but service is very fast. It can get a little loud, so I don't recommend this as a spot to study. Most of all, I really love all the artwork. I would love to buy a few pieces if they were they right colors. I really like this little spot! Definitely check it out.

The mocha was good! Cute little coffee shop. It was very calm inside and there's a few tables to sit and chat or get work done.

They are coming up on their first decade next summer. The cafe decor also held up pretty well, including the large glass fixture from the ceiling. Seattle Sunshine Coffee also outlived Ventoux that I had mentioned in my prior post. The barista and I compared my 2016 stamp card to the current design, just had a few slight different nuances. This indie cafe had folks onsite, but not packed. There was still room available whether seated along the sidewalk, main seating area, or the upstairs mezzanine. Some convos to be had, but most of the cafe clientele were on their laptops or reading. Pastry case was well stocked with the wholesale variety from Macrina, plus the usual bevs and cafe fare. I enjoyed my near two hour onsite visit. The only thing I wished is that I had brought a hoodie. The AC was jacked up. and of course, I had savored an iced mocha. Hopefully my next cafe detour won't take nine years though between visits.

The service is attentive and nice. The coffee is tasty and smooth. We all ordered an oatmilk latte, we'd rate 4.5/5. The Matcha latte was 0/5, do not buy, tastes like sugar milk I would come back for the coffee and to get work done! :)

There's a ton of workers around but they're busy doing things that other breweries have figured out how to manage. Example: the workers carry dirty glassware instead of telling people to bus their own table. It took about 20 minutes just to order a beer because of the inefficiency. On top of that the loaded tots that I ordered looked like the cook just carelessly threw the toppings on. It's not horrible but I'm never going back

The beef tacos were ok...not as good as the fish tacos in my opinion. Someone mentioned the beef tacos were like school lunch meat and I can see why they said that. I think it's just the texture though and not so much flavor. Service: I wish they had more umbrellas for all the tables because it was a surprisingly sunny day for an outdoor party. Probably about 50% of the tables had umbrellas. Thankfully they had us well stocked with drinks and water. For a party they had the reserved tables set aside. The outdoor area was reserved. They had a server swing by continuously for drink orders. Pitchers were an option. They brought the food out in waves. Ambiance: casual

The outside is very unassuming and I you wouldn't guess there was a decent establishment but you walk inside and you are immediately greeted. The person at the register is ready to take your order. There were quite a bit of options! I don't know why but I didn't expect that. I decided to get a Brown Sugar with milk since that's my favorite and it was good! Nice and sweet with not too much ice. The inside is small but they did alright with the space available. There was a little video game corner that I was tempted to stay and mess around with but I was busy. I'm interested in what the other menu options are like and am likely to return!

There's also a small gaming console at one of the corners as well. Going inside, the menu is at the front wall, and they serve tons of things from your regular boba and banh mi sandwiches to some specialty drinks to some pretty loaded vermicelli bowls and even bubble waffles. I was actually overwhelmed with the choices and took a while to decide what I really wanted. For this visit, I got their lemonade galaxy and three egg rolls with fish sauce. Lemonade is really tasty, and there's also a bunch of peach bits inside as well. It also has butterfuly pea flower, which is mild and not too sweet to begin with. Perfect since I didn't want something too strong to go with my egg rolls! They weren't piping hot like I wanted them to be, but I loved that there was slightly more meat than filling and that it wasn't overstuffed with taro unlike some other places I've had back then. I'm sure I didn't get the full experience here given I didn't get the stuff I always see on their IG page like the watermelon slush and banh mi sandwiches, so that's what I'll do next time I come here. Looking past that, I highly recommend this place, which feels like a hard-to-find hole in the wall! You'll want to rely on street parking to reach here if you're going by car.

Grateful Bread is a nice neighborhood spot in Wedgewood across the street from Top Pot Donuts, serving as a bakery and cafe. Baked goods and sandwiches are made from scratch, and beverages are abundantly available. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable. On this trip we purchased (to go) a couple veggie sandwiches, a cinnamon roll, and a couple chocolate cookies. The sandwiches were great and included Romaine lettuce, tomato, cucumber (with skin on), red onion, mayonnaise, and spicy dijon mustard. A totally tasty sandwich!! We plan to do a dine-in soon as the baked goods are calling my name.

They just threw the sandwiches on the counter without calling my name...fine, let me go up there and ask if the sandwiches are for me. I was met with grunts. When I asked to clarify the lady at the counter was like: "yes!" As if I was an inconvenience. So I ask: "is this where the coffee would be?" Another grunt. I clarify and she says: "it's over there, where coffee would be" Notably, no one else in the restaurant was treated this way, and I was the only Black person in the restaurant. Am I saying this was racially motivated? Not necessarily, but do I think it wasn't? No! Suffice it to say, I'm avoiding this place from now on and would advise others to do the same. The bakery isn't good enough to justify the terrible service.

I absolutely love their specialty drinks like honey cardamom, and a shakerato. The vibe and atmosphere is wonderful. It's usually social and low-key but never too loud. They have excellent food, matcha with option to remove sugar (not all coffee shops have this!). Generally, I feel like their staff is really great! Love the location minus the issues with parking being tricky for a quick stop, sometimes need to pay. I keep coming back here! With gas prices over six dollars and budgets getting tighter for so many the one thing that hinders me is their prices. Their baseline drinks are an average of $5.75 + tip. Quiche slice is $8 two hard boiled eggs near $4. Typical typically if I'm gonna spend almost $10 I'd rather buy a fancy drink like a bubble tea or go out for an appetizer and food. When you own your own espresso machine and Matcha at home it's hard to justify getting such expensive drinks unless there is that "I can't make this at home" appeal - housemade syrups, Boba, etc I do love that urban coffee lounge has pour over options which can be time-consuming and cold brew, which is delicious and also more time-consuming. I appreciate their presence in the neighborhood. Having lived in Seattle for so long with so much access to incredible coffee I appreciate urban coffee lounges level of expertise with coffee. It is more rare on the east side. (Zoka is great of course!) And I will keep coming back, but sparingly due to prices. (Am I the only one who feels this way? Let me know!) Thanks for being here, urban coffee lounge!
