This is an adorable little coffee shop. They had some fun espresso martinis and it was mostly quiet on a Friday in the early afternoon....until it wasn't! Definitely a hopping place at the end of the workday. It's got a darker ambiance and it's cozy. It has indoor, outdoor, and patio seating, though we chose to stay indoor. Pro tip - the poofs make you sit REALLY low. The food choices around 1pm were dismal, and limited. Maybe they'd sold out, or maybe they just don't have a lot there, but nothing even looked fresh enough to warrant purchase. The other thing that killed me was the service. There was one person on the entire 4 hours I was there, and it made for an incredibly slow experience. It was friendly enough, if not a little dismissive. I returned recently to use a reward I had accumulated, excited to see how things had changed since my last visit. When I asked to check my rewards balance before ordering, I was told I could only do so after completing the transaction. Every other coffee shop I frequent allows this beforehand, so I pushed back to clarify. What followed was one of the most unwelcoming interactions I have experienced at any business. The staff member's tone was hostile and dismissive from the moment I asked a simple question, and it did not let up. I felt uncomfortable enough to cancel my order entirely. When I asked for a receipt to confirm my refund, she threw it away in front of me. A colleague had to ask her again on my behalf, and she snapped that she had already discarded it. She chose not to follow up with me about my experience. (My usual matcha order everywhere) my Husband ordered a 20oz iced latte with standard milk and an almond croissant. The total before tip was just under $25 which I felt was steep and more than we would usually pay. The matcha was refreshing and delicious, just perfect. My husband enjoyed his coffee, noting that it was bold and smooth and tasted fresh. He was given the wrong pastry but said it was delicious whatever it was. This was our first stop after landing in Seattle and we decided to get some coffee here. I ordered the Iced Orange Cardamom Latte and I was really intrigued how they managed to balance such strong flavors with the espresso. It was on the bitter side but the syrups helped sweeten it. My only gripe with it is that it had max 30 minutes before the water melted and the bitterness made it almost undrinkable. I'm always on the look out for coffeeshops where I can sit down and get some work done, and that's exactly what I did yesterday. Armistice Coffee Roasters has a good amount of seating, not just indoors but outdoors as well. Service was also very friendly, it was my first time there so I asked the staff what was their signature drinks and they had a few seasonals to choose from. Very helpful in suggesting which coffee to get, and I ended up choosing the seasonal Lavender Salted Caramel Latte. I would recommend this drink if you're more into sweeter sips, although my first sip had a big sea salt piece which caught me by surprise. Luckily I love sea salt, but if that isn't your vibe then I would suggest ordering something else. The rest of the latte after giving it a good stir was nice and silky, and overall enjoyable. Wifi was great for me, the environment was calm (other than the occasional heavy clanking taps that I assume baristas are chucking out the old grounds), and it just felt like quite a productive space. While I'll always be checking out more coffeeshops in the city, Armistice may very well become my go-to when I need to grind some work (get it, grind? like coffee grinds... I was expecting something much larger with more toppings or flavor for that price. It just feels like a money grab at that point...like why even have it on the menu? Armistice coffee is a nice place to come to if you need get some work done or just want to catch up with a friend over coffee. It's spacious and has a warm atmosphere with nice decor. That being said, it does get pretty busy so it can get a bit loud throughout the day as people filter in and out. They roast their beans in house, so their coffee is very good, but it can be pricey. I had a latte with oat milk and one of the syrups, and it came out to $10. Since they roast their beans in house, I assume you're paying a little more for the quality. Once they start roasting their beans, it also gets very loud combined with the noise of all the people coming in and out. A word of caution - do not get any of the pastries. I had the croissant and the cinnamon role, both were stale and way too dense. I did also try one of the breakfast sandwiches and it was pretty good, although they only seem to sell those on the weekdays. All in all, Armistice is a good spot for coffee and a decent spot to study or catch up with a friend. I'd just recommend coming earlier in the day, before it gets too loud. read more

I respect coffee shops that roast their own coffee beans, but as a cafe, Armistice was pretty lackluster. For one, their wifi was broken, which made working at the cafe impossible. They were also out of whipped cream, even though one of their seasonal signature drinks, the Smores mocha, uses whipped cream as a key ingredient. I ordered it anyways (see photo) and they did provide a 50¢ discount after we asked because they were out of whipped cream. It cost $8.54 for an iced 16oz drink with oat milk, which is ridiculous, because it means originally it would be $9+ for a single coffee. They charge an additional $1 for milk alternatives, which is pretty steep as many other coffee shops only charge 50¢. It tasted just ok, and the marshmallows were really just decor that didn't add anything to the drink. If it were toasted, that would make it more s'mores like. I'm overall disappointed. There is only street parking available. There is a number of seating options, from table to bar to bench. There is self-serve water available. The music was pretty loud, but the loudest thing was the barista slamming the portafilter against something which made a loud banging noise every time espresso was made. I wouldn't recommend this cafe to sit and work in, but it's fine if you need a coffee. read more

First off, it's not ADA friendly, the menu is small and doesn't really allow for anyone but the person ordering to browse. I can't say anything for the cocktails, but if you're coming here for the coffee, don't, it's not awful but it is disappointing. I also ordered 2 different sandwiches and both were mid at best. Every time I watch the surface of that pristine reservoir ripple in the morning light, I can't help but imagine the sweet rooster tail spray from my hypothetical Kawasaki Ultra 310LX-S (in lime green, obviously). You haven't lived until you've experienced their "Reservoir View" seating area, where you can stare longingly at what could be Seattle's premier jet ski freestyle competition venue. I've submitted 47 proposals to the city council for "Coffee and Cross-Overs: A Jet Ski Ballet." Still waiting to hear back. Their large windows perfectly frame what I like to call "The Great Disappointment" - a body of water so perfect for jet ski tricks that it physically hurts to see it used just for... storing water. I've started measuring distances between the coffee shop and potential jet ski launch points. You know, just in case the revolution comes. Five stars for their strategic location overlooking the most tragically underutilized watersports venue in the Pacific Northwest. I've started a weekly support group where we gather by the window, drink their admittedly excellent coffee, and share our jet ski dreams while watching the forbidden waters mock us. P.S. In a city full of coffee cafes it's easy to get complacent. This though is craft coffee and well worth the walk and $ overtime, I decide to splurge. I don't regularly buy lattes or cappuccinos at cafes, but pastries absolutely. I prefer to make my espresso and coffee at home. This coffee shop has me up and out the door at 7:30 AM walking about 5 city blocks for what I feel and believe will be the tastiest cappuccino for around $6.50 I can find in North Seattle. Come to find out they stock and sell le Fourier fresh made pastries ( every single croissant is amazing They talk about five) I used to travel regularly to in Eastlake for that bakery and sandwich shop.
