OMG was this good!!! By far my favorite chicken caesar wrap in Seattle (so far)! I added pepperoncinis and extra seasoning to my wrap and it was amazing. Super flavorful, creamy, and the goldfish added the perfect crunch. The mozzarella sticks were very similar to Red Robin's original ones (a win in our book). Very fun ocean themed environment with funny slogans all around. Food came out quick and bartenders were pretty nice! It was definitely on the more expensive end, but worth it every once in a while. It's a big nautical themed bar with many dimly lit areas and other big open areas. Emphasis on big. This place is huge and one of my favorite places to go when I have a bigger-ish group because there's so many pockets of space. Their food options are via their in-house spot called the Salty Shack, order via QR code. Food comes out fast. HH drinks are great, and service is good even when busy. I have came here a handful of times and every single experience has been one to remember. They have happy hour menus available all week long with single serving and multiple serving options available. They make a really good Caesar salad and they do also have options of alcoholic slushy beverages available you order at the bar and they bring out everything to you. A neighborhood bar that's dimly colorful and spacious. The decor really 'dives' into the sea theme, pun intended. It definitely gives bar character. My first visit was just for some midday drinks. Our bar lady was very friendly and attentive to keeping out glasses full which was a good look. Around this time, it was quiet with some music going, making it a good place to knock back a few. My second visit was with friends who wanted to see some nightlife in the area. By this time the dancefloor was packed with mostly 00's hip-hop/pop playing. A decent crowd but the bartenders were good handling the rush and we got our drinks with no issue. It's sped up by the interesting swivel tablet things that really makes paying fast. I haven't had a chance to eat here yet, just some tots, but I definitely see continued visits here and will update accordingly. In the meantime, Octopus is nice bar by day for simple drinking or by night if you want something livelier. read more

Leaving this yelp review since my initial Google review from 4/26 was taken down: Cut my friends off after 3 rounds of drinks at 11 pm and when asked why, the bartender stated it may have been due to a "language barrier." Mind you, being told this as one of the few (if not only) group of people of color in the bar on Saturday night, this is extremely unacceptable and disappointing to say the least. Not that it should matter, but my friends and I all speak perfect English... Please hire new staff or re-train. It is not hard and requires nothing to be respectful and kind to others. read more

Came here on a Thursday and it was Tattoo Thursday! They have other special events on occasion so make sure to check their schedule if you plan on going. Went with a group of about 7 people. It wasn't too busy but might be because of it being on a Thursday. Compared to when I came on NYE and it was super packed. I ordered the Shipwrecked Molly (cocktail) and it was pretty good. I've been wanting to come here for a long time, and luckily for me I walked in last night literally 5 minutes before trivia started and ended up staying for over 2 hours. Whoever was leading trivia did an INCREDIBLE job and we had such a fun time! We got a few drinks, I really liked the shipwrecked molly! If you're a mezcal fan, the sirena secreta is also good! Also got the mini corndogs, they were so so good and the serving size was much larger then I was expecting and I didn't feel shorted the way bar food/apps sometimes do. One reason I gave 4 stars, and I will go back, so I'm hoping to upgrade to 5 stars in the future. The bartenders were both super rude. I generally drink in places where I know the bartenders so I haven't really experienced the stories of rude Seattle bartenders but definitely did last night. Leaving this here because Google Reviews are being removed: My friends and I usually enjoy going to Octopus Bar, but unfortunately last night made us not want to go back there again. The staff last night made it extremely uncomfortable for us to be there. My friends were cut off around 11pm when they got there at 10pm because they saw them clanking their beers bottles to cheers and said that they were acting "too drunk." The same bartender lady pushed my friend when she was making her way to the front entrance. When I asked the bartenders why my friends were cut off over something so small, the other lady replied with "maybe it's a language barrier, but they didn't seem to understand what I was saying to them." Mind you, this bartender lady wasn't even the lady that reprimanded my friends. I told her my friends literally speak English and that they apologized right away. The white staff need to be reprimanded for being racially micro aggressive to the customers. Very disappointed. read more

The sandwiches are nice and stacked and are balance of flavors. The fries and tots must also be some of the best tasting and most affordable in Seattle. It was so nice to have a good sandwich with a cocktail while the windows were open on a perfect Seattle day. We would both definitely come back for our sandwiches again! read more

We had 7 players when 6 was the max (seriously did not realize) and host found us in the far back and let us know we have 'too many f****** people' and continued to yell at us and then find us before scoring and demanding we tell him which paper is ours to throw out. We were a quiet table and all ordered drinks and tipped the bartender, who also yelled at us as soon as we walked in. My drink and garnish were spilled on the bar mat while shoving it at me and he just plopped it back in the glass. This is perhaps one of the least expensive bars out here in the Seattle proper, and it doubles up with good drinks and great decor. Nautical theme, which seems to be quite ubiquitous in the Wallingford area. I went here with some coworkers and there are plenty of open seating on Tuesday night. Inside, there is a pool table and vending machine containing many random things, among many eclectic items. I got the Shipwrecked Molly which has a Swedish fish candy piece on top, and the drink itself is pineapple with vodka and blue curacao. I personally shy away from pineapple in drinks because it gives me bad memories from college parties, but the drink here is decently made. It is simple, which also explains the relatively low price compared to many other bars in the area. Overall, this is a pretty solid bar in the area, and it is quite fun and lively. The only downside is that it is quite far from the downtown Seattle area. read more

Talk about a themed bar -- tucked into the heart of Wallingford, Octopus Bar is a nautical dive bar with good drinks and great decor. It's fairly unassuming from the outside, but deceptively large indoors and complete with tons of seating and a pool table. I stopped by with some friends on a Friday evening for a chill night. It was easy to find a table, but I will say that it was fairly busy. I'd probably recommend it for groups of ~5 or less. This was the perfect spot to be otherwise, with a great food menu and tons of solid drinks. I enjoyed my stay until the very end where it went downhill. Drinks are fairly strong and some nice tunes get blasted. Fun spot to hang around and drink prices are post-tax. However, at the end of our visit a friend wanted to take a picture so we sat in the booth as one person stepped back to take the shot. We ended up vibing to the song playing at the time and simply closed our eyes for a brief moment to relax while one friend was still taking pictures on their phone. Bartender yelled across the room for whatever reason telling us to leave among the loud music. We were planning on leaving after pictures so it wasn't the worst, but it just left a poor impression. I understand not having patrons be over intoxicated and falling asleep or whatnot, but this was barely any time and having one friend obviously standing in front of us was telling that we were fine. Overall just felt pretty rude and I think the situation could have been handled better. Rest of the night went well, experience was fine. I went to Octopus for the Tuesday night cribbage tournament, it was a fun time! If you play, I'd recommend going, $10 buy-in. I didn't get any food so I can't speak to that. But I got a few beers, normal pricing. The vibe was okay, not my favorite, but also not something that rules out the bar. I've eaten at several places with QR code menus, so no big deal there, but Octopus makes it as complicated as it can be. First you scan the code for your table, then you have to "add" dine-in or take-out to your order, then you add or remove endlessly customizable options to your food order, then you enter all of your credit card information and pay for your food. Keep in mind, you're INSIDE the bar, sitting at a table. There are no servers, so if you want a drink, you schlep over to the bar and order/pay for drinks separately. A cook delivers the food? OK. Listen. I just want to sit down, peruse a menu, order a sandwich and a drink, and relax. This is not a place for that. I'll do anything to avoid that ridiculous ordering process, like go somewhere else. The food definitely doesn't make that goofy process worthwhile. The beer I ordered tasted funky as well. Old keg or dirty glass? Not coming back to find out. Almost forgot. Our clothes smelled like old cooking oil when we got home. Nice. read more

The Octopus Bar is a quirky dive bar right in the heart of Wallingford. This is probably one of the busiest and most lively place you can find in the area, especially on a weekday. Parking is no issue in the area - there's tons of street parking available nearby. They do lots of events during the week including trivia, bingo, bartending competitions, etc. There are lots of seats available, so I don't think I've ever seen it full. Cocktails are unique and strong and are around $10. read more

Love love love this place. So well managed. Everyone is incredibly friendly and well organized. I lost my bracelet a few weeks ago and they were able to find it for me! I owe them so many hardy tips, the bracelet had my great-grandmother's diamond on it. I was utterly shocked when they got it back to me. Thank you so so much to whoever found it. Overall, I can't recommend this place enough. My favorite bar in all of Seattle. They always have something fun going on everyday of the week. I even was a vendor at one of their art markets and had huge success- more than any I've done before. And don't even get me started on how good the food is.
