Love this local spot! Excellent vibes, excellent drinks, excellently-named drinks. The borscht is delicious, and the decor and books add a great touch. See lots of locals, groups of friends, dates, regulars reading at the bar. It's always a bit busy but not too much, and always a good time

Came here after 9 when most restaurants in the area were closed - loved the dumplings and they went great with the pickles (kinda pricey)! As a beet lover, the Lenin drop was delicious! We asked for more bread and it did not cost extra!

What a wonderful cozy spot! The drinks are excellent, the food delightful, and the service downright familial. Well worth the journey to Wallingford or a quick drop in if you're in the area.

Such a cute vibe. Dark and sexy. Drinks were amazing and food was traditional and delicious.

Enjoyed a simple menu and a unique experience. The meat dumplings were a standout, far tastier than the vegan option, which unfortunately lacked flavor. Highlight was the honey cake, although I forgot to take pictures.

I was here for a quick dinner and out of sheer curiosity, since Eastern European cuisine is pretty much absent from the dining scene here (with very few exceptions). Keep in mind that it is much more a bar than a restaurant but offers a limited menu of Eastern European staples: savory dumplings with meat (pelmeni) and non-meat options (vareniki), some traditional pickled appetizers and savory pastries (piroshki). Now, don't expect an extensive menu - there are no soups, desserts and such. I got the impression that the drinks list was heavily outweighing the food one... The food though was quite good taste-wise and had that authentic, home-cooked quality to it. This place is quirky and a tiny bit kitsch to my taste, and the music was a wild concoction of anything from Emir Kusturica to a variety of Balkan and slavic bands and themes but I guess geographically it was "close enough" :D (?). But at least they did not turn it into a stereotypical nesting-dolls-samovars-folk-songs nightmare. I could see how this place is quite alright if you want something with a different vibe to what most bars here offer or are in the mood for some seriously delicious dumplings.

A small tavern that serves the best beet vodka and Eastern European specialties. We took a booth along the wall and service was warm and casual. Highly recommend: pelmini meat dumplings, pickle plate, chicken piroshki and borscht! The pickle plate was a delightful assortment of fermented beets, cucumbers, carrots and cabbage complimented perfectly with light feta and dark rye slices. Everything was so flavorful but the carrots were our favorite. Their borscht was cold which was perfect for the hot day! The chicken piroshki was fluffy and the chicken filling was mashed and soft. My favorite? It's a competition between the borscht which was so refreshingly tangy yet sweet and rich, and the dumplings + sour cream (it was so light and melt in the mouth) + dill which was such a unique and hearty combination. We had the best time dining here. Such a lovely hidden gem tucked away in Wallingford - please keep it homey and intimate.

Pickled plate! Note the cool wooden bowls.

wow, seriously good vegan dumplings! I'm of Polish descent, and grew up eating my mom's and grandmother's (non-vegan) pierogi. Since going vegan a number of years ago, it's one food I haven't been able to find in the Seattle dining scene in veganized form. Now, these are technically not pierogi, but vareniki. Which are basically mini pierogi in my eyes. And they're just so good. Literally like mom used to make, but vegan. And vegan sour cream to boot! My regret was that we had a show to go to afterwards, and couldn't take a bag of a dozen frozen ones to eat the next day at breakfast (pro tip-- dumplings cold straight out of the fridge are yummy). Vibe is old school dive bar. Great service. the bartender was our waitress, and my better half said she made the perfect martini. I'm a beer guy, and can see the refills were attentively given. The pickled plate is good, too. Definitely worth doing your first time. Our preference was the pickles, and next time we're going to try the pickled mushrooms, which are the only things not included as part of the plate. Rye bread is like my mom used to buy from the local Polish bakery, too... this place is 100% authentic I tell you. The food comes out in these adorable wooden hand painted bowls. I commented on how I'm amazed they last through the dishwasher ... turns out that they are non dishwasher safe, and have to be hand-washed! when was the last time you've seen a restaurant-- let alone a dive bar -- use handwash-only plates?!? Seriously good food. Particularly if you are vegan, just go.

After a couple of drinks in Belltown a block from home, I ubered to Korochka Tavern in Wallingford, craving vodka and dumplings. Korochka Tavern always delivers. The good cheer, horseradish vodka, and amazing food forces me to wiggle my toes with pleasure. If Korochka Tavern was in Belltown, my perspiration at the gym would get fill the space with the aroma of horseradish, vodka, and pierogi. That's better than Right Guard! Korochka Tavern is one of the best bars in Seattle.

Gave it a 2nd chance again, but it failed. Ordered a couple of meals to go about 4 months ago and I had to throw mine out. My husband ate part of his and threw the rest out. Last night we gave it one more go. Ordered 2 burgers to go. Asked for no onions or sauce. Got home and found they had onions and sauce on them of course. Took a few bites and threw both burgers out. There's also a pleasant patio that will see use in the summer but not on this chilly February night. The bar offered a collection of micro pub brews with the classics such as Pliny the Elder IPA and local finds. (See pic attached) The menu is elevated pub grub and pizzas while staying away from the more pretentious "gastropub" offerings. We split a Green Goddess salad and a burger with a side of delicious fries. I had the Stoup Cerevezita while my partner ordered a Margarita. Service was friendly and so were the other patrons. We chose to hang around to watch Olympic Curling after finishing our meaI while enjoying the neighborhood vibe. Every neighborhood should have a joint like this though not all are so lucky.

All the drinks were ordered were quick and tasty. For those that cannot drink beer, they do have Twisted Tea on tap which is somewhat carbonated which is fun, unique and refreshing. Went on a weeknight, and saw that they had Blanton's. May be the cheapest price for a pour of it in town. Since it was only a few bucks more than a standard bourbon and coke, asked for a Blanton's and coke, which got some laughter, good played heckling and jokes from the bartenders. (obviously I corrected myself and did not get it with coke). Pool tables look nice and in good condition. Lines for a table were pretty long, but there was a group for a birthday party there squatting on one of the tables all night. The cook in the back seemed a bit gruff and muttered something at my wife when he was trying to book it back to the kitchen in a crowded bar. Seemed unnecessary, but still, overall the staff was great. Would go back!

It just needs a jukebox and for smoking to be allowed. Beers are cheap, especially the large bierstein drafts you can get for like 8 bucks, where as a pint anywhere else would cost you the Same. Food is also pretty inexpensive. Even in my last visit they lump my tab with my friend but a pint, ginger ale (my friend skipped beer this visit) and an order of chicken tenders was like $17, I was surprised. The outdoor patio is nice and there is a fair amount of seating inside. Some of the downsides are the staff can be hit and miss and there is only one register so lines for drinks can get long, fast. If you see the line short, jump then if you can. Besides that Lenys is like my favorite dive bar - cheap drinks and food, sports and good atmosphere.

Took almost an hour to get seated, but we were able to grab some drinks from the coffee shop on the first floor of the hotel, which was a nice option. Once we got upstairs it was gorgeous! Lots of great seating options both inside and out. The views of downtown Seattle and Bellevue were EPIC. The staff were very friendly as well! I have to say, for the price the food and drinks weren't at the level I expected. We ordered nachos, crab Rangoon dip, and pretzel bites. The nachos were probably our favorite, but they weren't anything special for $22. The Rangoon dip was mostly cream cheese and barely had any flavor. I think they were depending on the nori chips to bridge the gap, but those didn't taste the greatest. Finally the pretzel bites were okay, but nothing I couldn't get at another gastropub for a much lower price. The drinks were fine, but not that strong. I ordered the Glacier Peak which was beautiful and refreshing. We'll be back for the views and maybe a couple of cocktails, but I'd say if you're bar hopping, spend money on food somewhere else in the area.
