It wasn't even listed on the bill and then we asked for an itemized bill, they initially refused to give us one, and only after we spoke with the manager did we see the bill for FORTY PERCENT gratuity totaling $160 for 4 drinks! Came here on a Saturday night with my best friend. We were only planning to stay for only one drink but ended up staying the whole night. Michael S. is literally the best!! He was so lovely and funny and we ended up staying the entire time. Even though we sat in the way back of the back room, he made sure to always come by and check up on us. We popped in on a Friday around 6:30 with a group of 5 and were able to find a table right away! There's a lot of booth type of tables along the wall and then some really long high top tables down the middle. There's also a pretty large outdoor area that's fairly covered and enclosed this time of year. There were lots of cocktail options and we all opted for different things. TLDR: Unremarkable, except spectacularly incompetent event coordination and rude server. ____________ Came for Percy's 2-drink free tattoo event on Jan 29 and honestly... what a jarring mess. I expected it to be crowded. I did NOT expect zero organization. They had a handwritten signup sheet for tattoos from 5 PM to midnight, but no cutoff, no wait-time updates, and basically no communication the entire night. The server who was supposedly coordinating the event was unhelpful and dismissive from the start. She also kicked my partner and me out of the end of a long communal table (even though there were four empty seats between us and the next group) just to seat a party of four. Totally unnecessary. We ended up eating standing in the corner of the patio. Food and drinks were overpriced for what they were. Burger was fine. Drinks were whatever. We waited for 4 hours without getting a single text or call. Eventually we left to kill time elsewhere and came back around 11:30 PM when things had slowed down, thinking maybe we'd finally get called. Nope. Instead, they were turning people away because they suddenly realized they weren't going to get through the signup list. That feels like something you should figure out WAY earlier, not after people have been waiting all night. When we politely asked if there were vouchers or discounts for people who waited but didn't get tattoos, the same server just said, "Nope, but we do this every year. Better luck next time," and walked off. If this is a yearly event, it's kind of wild they haven't learned anything from it to make it better. No cutoff based on predictions from the artists of how many people they think they could tattoo or have tattooed in 7 hours before. No updated waitlist. No communication. No handling of no-shows and resulting wasted time. Fundamentals. Also, that server (blonde, nasally voice) really needs customer service training, or management needs to rethink her role at Percy's. Huge waste of time and money. Clearly profitable for the bar, though. Won't be coming back for anything like this. read more

One of my very favorite cocktail bars in the Ballard area! Plenty of libations to choose from along with food if it tickles your fancy. The staff here are great and certainly make a mean drink. Come during happy hour for an extra $2 off or come in the evening and imbibe on the great atmosphere. They have plenty of indoor seating, as well as a large outdoor patio space. We opted for the patio, and a server came out to take our order. It was a little hard to get their attention as the night went on, since it gets fairly busy. They have a large collection of ciders, beers, cocktails, and mocktails -- I snagged a Yonder cider which was a bit more on the dry side but I still liked it, plus a classic Rainier! In terms of drinks, we ordered the Honey Bee, Pisco Sour, and Manhattan - all were good! For food, we kept it simple with a basket of fries. The garlic aioli was the weirdest I've ever had. It was SO thick! It felt like dipping fries in butter? We asked for the side of garlic aioli to go with (but looking back on the menu, I think it was suppose to be included anyways) . Weirdly I never tried Percy until now and do I regret that! I loved the cocktail options and all the drinks my friend and I ordered were really well made. My partner took me here for a last minute valentines date when our reservations fell through. It was fairly crowded but the staff were very friendly and recommended the back room where it was quiet and a bit more private. It was a nice space, the walls roll up in the warmer months turning the back room into a patio which we can't wait to see once June hits! We ordered 2 rounds of drinks- the Falling Up, HoneyBee, and Awakened one- as well as the prosciutto panini and Ballard hot chicken sandwich. The food was amazing- especially the chicken sandwich!! I forgot to snap a picture but it was HUGE and delicious!!! Definitely worth the price. It's got indoor as well as outdoor patio seating. The cocktails are OUTSTANDING. We were a group of four and we tried a bunch of different cocktails, and each one of them amazed us. Ok, now comes the reason for knocking off one star. The service was ridiculously slow. It took more than 40 minutes to get our first round of cocktails. If you love plants and patio seating, this is your place! Such a precious little spot either in intimate moody inside lighting or outside sunlight. Every Sunday they do the farmers market downtown so it can be hit or miss rush hours. My friends and I went around 12ish on a Sunday and sat right away! Patio is first come first serve. I had the original Benedict which comes on a biscuit instead of an English muffin which was a nice twist. The biscuit was a little too dry, so I used their amazing jelly to finish it up. The hollandaise sauce isn't your regular sauce, it has a tangy lime taste to it. Also had the chicken and waffles which was delightful.
