The downtown Edmonds retail area has quite the concentration of indie cafes, especially along 5th Ave S. Despite being in business for nearly 13 years, this is my first visit to Cafe Louvre (12/9/25). After two days of staying in due to the stormy weather, I decided to venture out and try some place new. I snagged a 3 hour parking slot, yay! The cafe is in a shared building with six other businesses. Pleasant interior with natural light, mellow overhead music, various seating with 2 & 3 tops, communal seating by a fireplace, and group seating off to the side that can be reserved. It is currently decorated for the holidays, but also featured work from local artists. First visit & first meal of the day coming up on 1pm, I opted for a grande mocha and a 4 inch proscuitto sandwich. The overhead menu and display cases have a nice variety. Pastries are from Macrina and coffee roasts are from Caffe Umbria. Their espresso beverages are very generous. The grande mocha was served in a huge mug, reminiscent of a souffle ramekin. Well crafted too. I enjoyed the 4 inch proscuitto sandwich. Perfectly sized and sliced, not too big, not too small, Goldilocks just right. Served warm with proscuitto, melty cheese, pesto spread, spinach, and basil in a soft, square roll. Most of the folks onsite are having active convos or business type meetups, only two on laptops. And one doing a Yelp post, lol. After being onsite for 2.5 hours on a weekday early afternoon, seems to be an older demographic that visits here. Clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Overall, a cute cafe with a great ambiance and good coffee. Not especially pricey. I didn't try the pastries and they looked delicious so i'd recommend trying one of those if you're hungry. But the sandwiches were not great. I wouldn't recommend them. They tasted okay but they were small and nothing to write home about. Service was fine. They don't seem to know who ordered what which means the baristas just walk around and ask everyone awkwardly. But, I think the cafe just needs a better system because the workers were friendly. read more

I ordered the MED sandwhich while my partner order the everything bagel breakfast bagel. The wrong order was brought to us initially, which is fine, but then it happened a second time in which they brought out two everything breakfast bagels. They then took it back again, and when they came with our food a third time somehow they were out of everything bagels? Even though they just brought us one a second ago? This is such a beautiful and cozy coffee house. I am not sure if the guy at the counter is the owner or the manager but he is so kind and over all the rest of the staff is as well. The coffee is great, their pastries selection is ample and the ambiance is welcoming. The place is clean with comfy seating options, from small tables to a long couch by the fireplace and even a long table for a group gathering. The bathroom is very clean... Love it here! read more

Food is quite good. They even have gluten free biscuit. It's awesome - not so sweet, just enough. Big variety of tees to drink. Latte is a bit more coffee-y than milky, I would like to add a bit more milk. Service is fast, we didn't have to wait long for our order. Noise level is 3/5 - not so loud, for there is always someone sitting, chatting and enjoying their food. read more

A cozy cafe in downtown Edmonds, Cafe Louvre seems like a nice place to study/work solo or meet up with a friend inside during the rainy months and on their patio in the summer. They have a nice looking selection of cakes, cookies, and desserts that I did not try. Sadly what I did try was really not great. We had the falafel salad and a walnut anise biscotti. The latter had no anise flavor, though it was full of walnuts. A good biscotti, just not what I thought I would be tasting. The salad had crisp, fresh lettuce but otherwise it was garnished with some tired bits of mushy tomato and, inexplicably, pickle slices. The so-called falafel bore very little resemblance to real falafel--it was spongey, not crisp, and while the flavor was okay, it wasn't quite right. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. I was disappointed with my food, but it's possible I just ordered the weaker offerings; surely this cafe has its strengths based on how busy it gets! read more

What a nice, relaxing coffee shop. Large space, with paintings by local artists on the walls, and wifi. Great place to sit down, have a conversation, and enjoy the seaside breeze in the shade. Their menu isn't vegan per se but they'll gladly make some vegetarian dishes vegan. I had a falafel wrap with fresh, crispy veggies and a custom-made hummus? sauce. I don't make my way out to Edmonds very often but happened to be out there recently for a veterinary appointment for my doggo. While I was waiting I decided to go grab a tea and stumbled upon this cute little coffee shop. It has a very casual and comfortable vibe with a good amount of indoor/patio seating available. The staff were friendly, fast and offered a choice between paper cups and ceramic. The sandwich/wrap selection was surprisingly large and they had a great assortment of pastries and other baked food in their glass cooler. Additionally, they had one of the larger selections of higher end tea I've seen in a while. All in all, this made for an excellent little place to stop while I waited for my doggo's checkup to complete. read more

This is the best coffee shop to not only go and relax with a latte or pastry, It may be the best place to go and relax in Downtown Edmonds. As for coffee shop space, it's Alaska spacious, Utah library quiet, the fireplace makes it Montana cozy, the service speed in New York minute fast with you bet ya Minn-e-so-ya nice. With all this the coffee just needs to be average. It was fine. By now, in this day and age, it's hard to mess up a latte. It's the experience that people leave the house. I LOVE this place!! Haifa and Nabeel, the owners are SO nice! The rest of the staff is also super nice, friendly and efficient! Great service! I love that they display local artist's art around the cafe giving them some exposure! I love that they support the community in that way! And it is such a treat to look at everyone's style of art while enjoying coffee with friends! The ambience is nice and quiet enough to do some work or have good conversation with friends! Their food is great too! The pastries I have tried are really fresh, and delicious! There is a small parking garage below the building, but be aware that the spots are small, so if you have a bigger car, you should opt for street parking. I highly recommend! Just a nice lil cozy cafe in, of course, cozy downtown Edmonds. It seems like a nice & modest bistro-style space. There's pleasant artwork abound, comfy chair seating combinations and a coffee table setup by a fireplace. I tested the fireplace while I was waiting for a friend and it got too warm for my comfort fairly quickly so I grabbed the chair pair on the wall. Me and a friend met up a bit to talk shit & chill. She got a snack & drink while I got just a short decaf oat latte. They use a decent oat milk and Caffe Umbria decaf is always a good bet. Added in some cinnamon & nutmeg for that oomph. Disappointing First Experience at Café Louvre I recently visited Café Louvre for the first time, and it was a terrible experience due to the staff's lack of knowledge and rude behavior regarding service animals. When I walked into the café with my service dog, I was immediately accosted by a woman who told me dogs were not allowed. I informed her that my dog was a service animal, but she continued to press me about it. She appropriately asked me about what tasks my dog performs. However as I tried to explain, she did not take the time to listen, made a dismissive face, and pushed past me, saying she would "let it slip" even after my partner showed her our service animal ID card. She then grabbed some paper to try and explain she would get in trouble, but I repeated that if she listened, she would know she wouldn't, as my dog is a service animal. According to US laws, particularly the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), businesses are only allowed to ask if the animal is a service animal required because of a disability and what work or task the animal has been trained to perform. They cannot require documentation, nor can they ask about the nature of the person's disability. This lady was extremely rude and unyielding, failing to listen and understand the law. This experience was incredibly disappointing, and I would implore this woman, whether she is a manager or the owner, to better inform herself on how to appropriately handle situations involving service animals. As well as what kind of service animals there are, Guide Dogs are not all there is, i.e., The main types of service animals include: 1. Guide Dogs 2. Hearing (or Signal) Dogs 3. Medical Alert Dogs 4. Psychiatric Service Dogs 5. Mobility Assistance Dogs 6. Autism Service Dogs 7. Psychiatric Support Animals The level of discrimination, lack of understanding and respect shown was unacceptable, and it made what should have been an enjoyable visit extraordinarily stressful and unpleasant. Café Louvre, please educate your staff on ADA regulations regarding service animals and approach these situations with more compassion and empathy to ensure all customers feel welcomed and respected. read more

We stopped in for a coffee and a pastry. Much potential. COFFEE: 2.5. We both had Americanos. The taste was fine but too weak. The "cups" were stemmed glasses with petite handles. PASTRY: no rating as it was about 2:30pm and there was no longer much to select from. Thus, did not have a pastry. SERVICE: 4.0. Very polite and attentive. AMBIANCE: 4.0. I liked it more than my partner. Fireplace, reproductions of paintings in the Louvre museum on the tabletops, and an outside seating area. Love the friendly people who work here. Their sandwiches and wraps are excellent, as well as their coffee. I would recommend this place if you want to steer away from a corporate coffee spot. My wife and I came here for the first time years ago and it quickly became our favorite coffee shop in the area - we are now regulars! I recommend the sandwiches. They are unassuming on the menu - I assumed they were simple cold-case sandwiches, which I tend to avoid - but was so impressed when we tried them one day and discovered they're fresh-made, warmed and full of great ingredients, pestos and tomatoes and whatnot. I get the Med Chicken pretty regularly now. They also have a really great breakfast sandwich - I get sausage on a bagel with egg and cheddar, and it's really good. They use cafe Umbria, which is my favorite roaster, so that's a win for me. They make a great mocha, a great London fog, and the service is always good. Now that we have a little boy - who the owners love, and he loves them - we appreciate the lobby that's so easily accessible next door that he can run around in. Visited the coffee shop this afternoon and after placing my order, I witnessed the three young ladies working behind the counter making fun of a woman because of her appearance. While waiting they started making negative comments about my order while I was standing in front of them. Also, I did not appreciate that the only options for tipping when paying with a credit card was 20 or 25%. To tip a smaller amount it had to be manually entered. Adding to our review from 4/13/2019, we had a family birthday we wanted to celebrate in a space that we could temporarily decorate with artwork and photos of the birthday person, my daughter. Haifa was wonderful to work with and let us do this and let us reserve the largest table, which can seat about 8 people. We had a lovely time, and want to thank Nabil and Haifa for their hospitality and generosity. As I've said before this is a great place to get a coffee and a pastry or sandwich. My favorite cafe! Both the food and coffee are amazing. They take allergies seriously (the pesto does not in fact have nuts but they went out of their way to check and were willing to get me a new one) and the staff is incredibly friendly. I can't say enough good things about the staff, and who I'd assume is the owner. We came here for our first post quarantine meal, since we could eat on the patio. They were very accommodating to me and my three kiddos. I ended up spilling my salad in my lap and on the patio (toddler life) and the owner was so sweet and kind. She helped me clean it up, remade my salad and made our table bigger so I had more room to sit and eat. It made was a great experience we will be back. Plus, they food was all tasty and they always make a great iced americano. read more

This has been my go-to coffee stop since my previous favorite shut down. Randomly stopped by there one day last year, and while I'm a little too gen-z for the energy in the store, I LOVE their coffee and food. The art gallery is super cool though. I tend to DoorDash from here as I'm disabled and work from home, but the drinks and food have never disappointed me. I personally really love asking for the Barista's favorite coffee when I want to try something new. They all so far have had great taste! read more
