This place is a dinner in the side of a busy road. Walked in and found some seats, they provided a menu and offered coffee right away. The food prices are a little high for breakfast but their portions are large. We got a spartan omelet and joes special. The spartan omelet was super salty. Hashbrowns and toast are good. Their coffee refills are not free so you pay 3.50 per cut of coffee you are given. I didn't see it on the menu but the waitress just walked around with a pot of coffee. Would have appreciated that upfront instead of just on the bill. There is also a 4% charge for using credit cards. They also don't tell you that upfront. A little upset over extra charges, would appreciate more transparency. read more

Best lake city breakfast spot by a MILE - no disrespect to patty's but this place beats them no contest. It isn't fancy or pretentious - got a lot of old couples and full tables of young people grabbing greasy food after a night out. It is not one of those white girl brunch spots, but if you want diner breakfast they do a real good one. My favorite is the frittata omelet but I'm all about zucchini in an omelet. There is such an extensive menu and we opted for the biscuit & gravy and waffle meal. Gravy was gasoline and waffle was shmackin. Waffle hole size is ideal for spreading butter and syrup evenly. It is a welcoming diner nearby my place and it was a very nice find! I've tried the flat iron steak (twice) and the chicken fried steak with country gravy. Went for dinner last night and it was great! Service was amazing, super friendly and attentive. They had a prime rib special that was tender and flavorful. The salad was crisp with a great blue cheese dressing. Pasta was yummy too. Looks like they have a Greek night once a month that could be a lot of fun. The best thing we've had here is the Reuben. (I recommend requesting the bread not buttered as the sandwich is too rich when it is.) Joes special is classic American breakfast comfort food. Definitely needed salt and pepper, but no big deal... the Greek burger was good. Not bad but not amazing either. My mom and sister loved their French dip and pancakes when we took them here. Great spot on LCW. Very friendly, very accommodating to our group of 6. They gladly and accurately handled a couple food allergies and had no issues whatever with separate checks. Good mix of clientele. Plenty of boozy treats for a full brunch experience (Bloodies, mimosas, Jell-O shots...) Service was extra friendly without being overly solicitous. Drove past Flo-Anna's Diner in Lake Forest Park forever (open since 1993)...finally me and The Homie visited for the first time mid-morning (11/24/17). Dated diner atmosphere with huge menu offerings, but a plus that it's an indie and nearly full when we arrived. Seat yourself and immediately menus were given, beverages provided, and orders taken. Three stars for the food, extra Yelp star for the hard working, busy wait staff who also cover bussing and cashiering duties. The congested, under the weather Homie had a hot chocolate (instead of the chocolate milkshake he wanted...oh well, got to enunciate), ice water, and Joe's Special (minus the onions and mushrooms) with hash browns, and white toast. I had the Joe's Special too with a bigger ice water. It was not skimpy on ingredients, just not as flavorful. I doctored it with salt and pepper to make it to my liking. My preference though is the Joe's Special further down the road at Honey Bear Bakery and Cafe at the Lake Forest Park Center. Doesn't look like much from the street, but came in for a breakfast for dinner craving and saw great reviews on Yelp so i figured I'd give it a shot. I ordered takeout and was greeted kindly by phone. I got the steak & eggs and omitted the toast for some extra hash browns and asked for them crispy. My steak (medium rare) was super flavorful and cooked to perfection. Steak is great size too. I cut it in half and saved the rest for tomorrow morning. My eggs were perfect too (over medium), and the hash browns were crispy just like I like them. I grabbed a cup of Bloody Mary mix too to make a drink when I got home and the mix was delicious. I'd imagine based on the mix alone that they make an amazing in-house Bloody Mary so I'll have to come back for that. The gal that took my order was also very nice on the phone and in person. I didn't recognize any of the staff today. They poured coffee in my mug without asking if I wanted any, I wanted decaf. I ordered the biscuits and gravy breakfast which I have had before. The biscuits were not light and fluffy but more like hockey pucks. The hashbrowns were barely cooked and not warm. The scrambled eggs were "okay" after adding hot sauce. Orange juice tasted off, like it was old. I'll come back to try a Greek dinner night again, which in the past has been fine. This little gem of a diner sits on the edge of lake city and sheridan beach. This is our favorite family breakfast place. The food is so good and fresh. The hashbrowns are made in house and never frozen. They are really delicious! There is a greek flair to the menu and they advertise a greek dinner night once a month. I really like that they have a petite option for the omelets. I am not a big eater and the petite cheese omelet with feta is the perfect size. I can't believe I've lived in Seattle for 25 years and have never been here. It's got the small town vibe with large portions and mama's cooking! Lunch was delicious! Love that breakfast is served all day too. I got a small turkey cobb salad, which was huge! I'm not sure what the regular one looks like. It comes with a delicious slice of French bread or pita which is probably good too! Usually salads are all lettuce, but this one had piles of turkey, bacon, thick slices of cucumber and a hard boiled egg. I felt stuffed afterwards! Definitely worth $11.99 My husband got a Greek omelette and said it was stuffed full of flavor and his fruit cup had really fresh good fruit in it. Parking is convenient, right off of lake city with lots of spots. Walking in, there's lots of boards with their daily specials. Sure, it's dated decor and you''ll probably reach your daily caloric intake after the third bite, but it's a great place for weekend brunch. Have been here twice with a rowdy crowd of four or five on a weekend around 10am or 11am and have found seating right away. Don't let the mess of cars in the parking lot fool you - I'm convinced they're left by the people who ended up permanently at the Acacia Funeral Home, as the number of cars in the lot always seem to outnumber the people inside the diner. Breakfasts are hearty and reasonably priced, with many options below $10.00 and nothing over $14.00. Have had the waffles and the three eggs and both were fresh, made quickly and served with a smile. Water and coffee (free refills till you explode) cups were never empty. Their gravy is made fresh not canned and even managed to wow a discerning friend who poo poos most restaurant fare. Though they don't serve some items on the weekend, if you're in the know, Flo-Anna will still serve you on the weekend.. Really busy place! Walked right in, coffee was one minute away, she took my order when she came back with the pot. And she was working the entire restaurant SOLO! I asked the friendly waitress to pick, chicken fried steak or biscuits and gravy. The chicken fried steak was really good - better than most.
