Came here on a whim being in the area and was so glad I did. The staff were super friendly and gave us good recommendations. The food was delicious and they had a cute little market to buy things at too.

Average food. It used to be much better when they first opened. Strange tables designs. I used to go there several times a week but I stopped after I was served below average food.

This place is punching WAY above its weight class. The lamb shank that I got was DELICIOUS. The mint lemonade? Perfect balance between sweet and tart. My meal was amazing. Greek fries seem a little standard though compared to the entrees. I was able to talk to the mom and pop cooks here (slow weekend, got lucky) and they were very nice people. Learned to home cooked over a long period of time. Definitely check this place out though. Absolutely outstanding food

they're back! happy dance! King Tut was previously located by the Lynnwood Transit Center and closed when construction for the light rail started. apparently they relocated and opened in march on hwy 99 and 135th. why didn't i know this? inspite of being johnny-come-late, i rushed over in june and was over-joyed to see my two most favorite items were still on their menu: molokheya soup: it's green, it's chicken brothy, it's garlicky, and it's slippery. personally, i love the texture. i would happily eat 2 bowls of this with some flat bread and call me happy and full. this is highly recommended if you are in for a traditional egyptian dish. alexandrian liver sandwich. another traditional dish. it's beef liver baby! don't turn up your nose. it is seasoned perfectly mediterranean style. it is not the dry icky beef liver your american grandma forced you to eat. highly recommended. other old favorites on the menu: lamb shank kofta hawashy sandwich: highly seasoned ground beef patty in a grilled flat bread. think of it as egyption patty melt but no cheese. i think this is another egyptian specialty there is something about the seasoning that is very different from other mediterranean cuisines. i like it! service is attentive and everyone there is very, very, nice and friendly go there now and try some new dishes. highly recommended

Lots more space than the old location.

This place was a favorite of mine when it was in Lynnwood. One day it was there and one day it was gone, the spot it used to occupy has since been torn down for light rail construction. I was certain it was gone forever and sad that I never got a chance to say goodbye, so I was beyond excited when Yelp informed me it had reopened unexpectedly in a different location. The new location is much bigger and seems brighter inside, but has the same delicious food. Prices do seem to have risen with the times, but that is expected almost everywhere these days. I had my old favorite, the koshary, which is something I have become obsessed with since first having it here years ago. I also opted for the tahini and fava bean appetizers. I could eat the fava beans as a meal itself, and might opt to do this next time. My partner opted for one of the specials, kubba and liked it so much he plans to try to recreate it at home. I was envious of those drinking the mint lemonade at other tables and might have to splurge for this next time. There are so many things I want to try I will definitely be back soon.

King Tut Mediterranean Restaurant has relocated from Lynnwood to the North Seattle/Bitter Lake neighborhood. Clearly it was fairly established for a decade as a family run, indie restaurant. My former work site was in Lynnwood for 5.5 years and somehow this was missed on my radar screen. Looks like they were displaced due to the light rail construction in Lynnwood and just opened about two weeks ago. This is in the same strip mall as several other businesses such as Friendship BBQ, proximate to KFC and Ivar's, located along Aurora/Hwy 99 and the Metro Rapid Ride E route. This had been the location of three previous restaurants: two Chinese, one Ethiopian. Hoping being fairly established earlier, they will be as successful at this current location. I stopped in for a late lunch (4/15/22). This was my first step towards normalcy: no masks and attempting solids after a major dental procedure earlier in the week. Friendly and welcoming greeting upon entering. Nice interior where you have the choice of tables or booths. I was provided water and a menu to peruse. Nice background music. While onsite for an hour, aside from myself, there was a two top and then followed by a party of five. Again, all tables including mine were well attended and food ordered came out fairly promptly. Mediterranean is often used as a blanket, all encompassing adjective. However, it can represent a whole host of different regional cuisines. I will use as benchmarks: Petra (Belltown), Caspian Grill (UDistrict), and recently revisited Harissa (Ravenna) to see where King Tut stacks up. I ordered the hummus and pita appetizer ($7.99), Kofta entree ($20.99) and Turkish coffee ($6.99). Clearly I was being ambitious, because the appetizer and entree portions were very generous. I was able to only consume a fourth of the hummus, clearly this is shareable. I enjoyed the pillowy soft pita. The Kofta entree, comprised of three grilled ground beef, lamb, onion, and tomato kebabs, placed atop a generous serving of yellow tumeric flavored rice, and with a nice dressed side salad with lettuce, tomato, red onion, cucumber, and an olive. Tzaziki sauce was also provided in a ramekin. This can easily feed up to two to three people. I really enjoyed the presentation and flavors. I wrapped up my late lunch with the Turkish Coffee service which came with an accompanying sweet, a split date filled with chopped nuts. I was too full, so this was packed up with my other leftovers. However, I did savor my Turkish Coffee. After letting the grounds settle, the coffee had a fragrant cardamon scent. I've only had this type of coffee service at other cafes/restaurants: Coffeemind (Queen Anne), Cafe Turko (Fremont), and Urban Luxe Cafe (Roosevelt) neighborhoods and Tov, an Egyptian cafe/double decker bus in Portland, OR. With tax and tip, my late lunch totaled under $48, but note, I ended up with a lot of packed up leftovers. Takes a lot to open at a new location after being established elsewhere, plus dealing with the new normal of pandemic and inflation challenges. As of today, there were 18 other Yelp posts that didn't pass the algorithm and were relegated to the Not Recommended reviews abyss. So I join the two remaining Yelp posts to recommend King Tut Mediterranean Restaurant. A welcomed addition to the growing North Seattle/Bitter Lake neighborhood!

Ambiance is awesome! Lots of people so make your reservations like us. We ordered a shared appetizer - pita bread and all 6 kinds of toppings hummus, tzatziki, and all they offer. Each one of us had an entree ranging from lamb burger, chicken, mushroom and lamb kebabs - all so good. It was so tender and tasty. Enough to fill us. Love it! So good! This is a lively place, always filled with a lot of upscale looking customers. So the atmosphere is quite loud, but fun in a buzzing way. We were seated quickly, as we had reservations. Our server Charlie, was engaging, friendly and on top of things. We ordered the shared dips---olive tapenade, eggplant, hummus, tatziki with some warm pita triangles. They're all good and a fun way to start the dinner. We each had kebabs---lamb, chicken and mushroom. All good, moist and tender all poured with a jig of ouzo on a hot skillet. The onions in the bottom get browned and crusty, so good to eat. One had a lamb burger which looked juicy and served with delicious mound of fries sprinkled with rosemary. Food here has always been awesome. Skipped dessert as we had homemade cookies to eat at our next stop.

Highly recommend the three dip (current seasons is beet and it's my fav) with the flat bread. The flat bread comes out steaming. Trumpet mushroom is Smokey and juicy. However after we expressed that we didn't want to wait that long, we were told that if we wanted outdoor seating they could actually seat us in less than half an hour. We chose the outdoor seating option and took a quick stroll in the quiet neighborhood before coming back. Our server told us that Homer's plates are meant to be family style and shared so their general recommendation is 1 large plate or 2 small plates per person. For us, we ordered the Set of top 3 spreads, lamb ragu on tahini and we were served with 5 pieces of warm pita. We also ordered Grilled Pork with Stinging nettles, raw albacore tuna with taramasalata, and smoked and shaved kohlrabi. Our server warned us that the pork was going to be on the fatty side but we were still surprised by how fatty it was. The spreads for the pita were amazing as usual-- their seasonal flavors taste amazingly fresh. Our table wanted to order more pita and when someone came by to take the empty plate they asked if we wanted more which we did let them know but even by the time we finished all the plates, we never got the additional pita so we just took it off. The Kohlrabi was an amazingly refreshing palette cleanser before the pork-- super light and refreshing. After we finished our meal we grabbed some soft serve from the window and wow, for 7$ it's quite a lot of ice cream! The flavors that were offered when we were there was Dark Chocolate and Kettlekorn. I sampled the swirl and the fusion of the saltiness of the kettle korn, the slight bitter and sweetness of the dark chocolate was immaculate. Final thoughts: very cool experience, inside I could see the open kitchen and the stone wood fired oven and the ingredients tasted amazing. However it is a little inconvenient that it's walk in unless you're a party of 6 since the lines and wait can get incredibly long. It's also difficult to find parking in the area. Very neat experience!

This…read morewas exciting to me as I enjoy food from the Middle Eastern part of the world, and the entrees do look very enticing! We went on a Saturday around 2pm and it wasn't too busy at the takeout window. The restaurant is only takeout - there are benches right next to the takeout window, but there are only enough spots for 8 - 12 people (2-3 people per bench). The only other seating is at the nearby street seating offered by the neighboring bars, which I can see being restricted during peak hours. Parking can be very difficult if you plan on driving, there is only street side parking that is usually full, and nearby paid parking in lots. Service is fast, after we got our order, we only waited 5-8 minutes for our food. We got their recommended Soujouk (Beef) and Cheese Wrap for $16. The wrap is long, I would say about 13 - 14 inches long, and I can definitely seeing most people getting full after enjoying one of these. The flavors are nice and you can taste the spices from the sausage - I could taste cinnamon front and center with other earthy spices lingering in an aftertaste. The wrap is very decadent, the cheese is hearty and indulgent and that with the spiced sausage and textural difference with the cucumbers is pleasing. Do note with how indulgent this wrap is, you will accumulate a ton of oil in your wrapper as you enjoy it - a nap afterwards is in your future if you eat a whole wrap! I think that Yalla Seattle is a good stop to try these cuisines in a casual manner and the price is reasonable. There are some other items on the menu that kept my attention and I would totally revisit to try the other items offered by this restaurant.

The batinjan (eggplant) and labneh wrap here has now taken its place in my pantheon of best…read moreeggplant bites I've ever had. Yalla is a walk up window, and there are just a couple of benches right outside where you can eat, and according to other reviews you can also go to Montana Bar next door with your food. The menu is posted in a couple places right next to the ordering window, and it's pretty easy to parse. Almost everything there is what I'd consider a "portable food", meaning something you don't need a plate, fork, and knife to eat, which makes sense given that it's not a sit down restaurant. They have veggie saj, meaty saj, mezze, a few sides, and a dessert. I really like their concise menu. We tried the baba ghanoush ($9.5), which comes with saj on the side, a batinjan and labneh saj wrap ($12), and a halloumi grilled cheese (halloumi grilled inside saj, $13). As you can tell, the saj underpins everything at Yalla, and their saj is excellent. Warm, soft, flaky, and tearable, it is perfect for both dipping and wrapping and grilling. The batinjan and labneh wrap is bursting (literally) with tender grilled eggplant, a rich sauce, and tangy, creamy labneh. It is truly one of the most delicious eggplant dishes I've ever had. The halloumi grilled cheese definitely hits the spot, and is more filling than you think by looking at it. Baba ghanoush is so smooth and flavorful, and I love the pomegranate seeds on top! The folks who work there are super nice, very friendly, and food comes out quickly. Prices are very reasonable, and I will definitely be back to try some of their meaty saj! This place is going into my regular rotation, for sure.
